Yea too many people without job in Canada currently so makes it harder for an outsider.

ednut1:
read page 1 and research more. You are to apply individually. Nothing like combine scores for siblings. Almost impossible to get a job from here as there are people on ground in canada without jobs. As an employer why would i want someone who i Dunno when he will get approved andland in canada while there are Canadian citizens and pr on ground.

Same kindred does not work. Has to be your sibling or half-sibling. To get maximum points in work experience, you need like 3 years of work experience.

ifeanyimoses:
Good day my people, this is my first time here, I am planning to immigrate to Canada through the various Canadian immigration platform with my sister who holds a bachelors degree, so I am currently running my Masters in Statistics, as I was told it will add more points to me. I also work in a bank as a Statistical data analyst and have 'a year +' experience in that role. I also have a brother, not direct (not same surname) but same kindred who lives in Canada, and I am thinking of using that to add points. I also plan to write Ielts next year. I am single and would be 28 when I am done with my Masters. Please what can I do to maximize my chance of immigrating to Canada as a Statistician/data analyst. I really do not want to miss it when I apply?

Billionaire married billionaire doesn't guarantee happy home.but I wish them bless and happy married life in advance.

But is it their fault that there is poverty in the land.......

cronsberg:
My problem with these kind of weddings is that how will you even feel comfortable with yourself flaunting such amount of wealth in the midst of overwhelming poverty?
You are a billionaire, you live in a mansion, you drive a buggatti, yet as soon as you go out of your house, you are surrounded by destitution, by poverty, by dilapidated roads and gutters, and road side suya and food stalls right next to open drainages etc will you honestly in good conscience be comfortable and happy that you are wealthy?

The poor really will never cease from the land. Balance can't be achieved.

Congrats to them on this new journey.

That page 1 was written by experienced people and this thread is full of different peoples' real experiences. Just start reading page by page, you will learn a lot. And you can ask 'specific/ peculiar situation' questions later as you go on.

If you have evaluated your educational credential (the MSc), the next step should be to create your EE profile. All the best!

Godtemi:
Thank you, but sometimes it better you get direct explanation from real experience from experience people.

This thread is becoming something else.

That was how one Pjomo was commanding me to PM him yesterday and even putting conditions grin

Thanks for the compliment anyway...

At this point, I hope all fall 2020 hopefuls have started thinking of the best decision to take as per their admission and funding.
It is well.
This too shall pass!

Have a wonderful rest of day everyone.

You can. I know people doing such.

Thanks. But assuming one is successful, can one just keep his wife and kids in Canada and still work in Nigeria for a few years before joining them.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Eniolakiite(f): 9:23am On Jul 31, 2020
Yea really sad one but I just want you to know that you are not alone. Almost every individual in the world has had their plans altered and changed cause of this pandemic. I just want us all to be glad regardless that we all are alive. When there is life, there is hope. Those in Nigeria, those already here in US, everyone has felt the impact of this pandemic in one way or the other.
Even when it looks like the troubles won’t cease, remember how far you have come and stay strong. This is just a phase.

jayzen:
This is indeed a sad situation but not hopeless. Let's just hope spring becomes feasible otherwise we all enter admission and assistantship pool again since deferment can only be done once.

Listen, it is much more than opening the international airspace.

Nigeria is a jungle. No plans for mitigating the COVID-19. No absolute plans. Everyone is moving mad.

Your president is a despot, frail looking, amnesia ridden nincompoop. Gallivanting upadan.

You want the embassy to open so you can infest the place with Corona.

Forget about the embassy opening, infact, mark out 2020 from your calendar. Embassy is not opening anytime soon.

You might need to first evaluate your transcript using wes.org
Then search for schools offering your program. And get to know their requirements.

Like others have said, this journey requires you to be ready to do extensive research by yourself. Read previous parts and keep following this thread. You can start your extensive search and reading from today, you will learn a lot.

I thought that is for if one is applying under Canadian experience class (CEC) and not for FSW.

Feelings of the masses doesn't change the behind-the-scenes politics going on between both countries tho.

bezimo:
I have lived in Canada for 5 years.Thats quite some time to understand what's happening ..Canadians don't like Americans because they are seen as crazy, rude and brash.I know the feeling because I am in the system.Right now Canadians don't want to see any American here nor their cars...because of how poorly they have dealt with the Corona virus in the USA. So what do those Americans do..they lie that they are going to Alaska that they should let them pass through Canada only to end up somewhere in Canada. They insist and have kept the border closed since to non-essential travel. As a matter of fact if you are American and they see you galivanting around in Canada. They will report you to the police and you will be fined heavily..That's current status..just so you know.

And your claims that folks who have American visa are likely been given Canadian visa is a flawed claim as I know a number of folks who have been bounced..infact in recent times..Canada has only been approving only 25-30% applicants from Nigeria irrespective of where they have travelled to.. go figure out why?

The other existing claims of visa arrangement to Canada/USA are true based on NAFTA.It doesn't change the general feeling of Canadians towards Americans.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by Eniolakiite(f): 2:34pm On Jul 24, 2020
Read earlier this month that there are some new plans being put in place for those with American degrees to help them immigrate to Canada.

Zeus04:
Hahahhhhaa! Apparently, the dude will likely win. The core native Americans like him... It's the minorities that really don't dig his style.

Just pray Canada don't start another type of immigration program for people with American connection.. Cos that will just put more pressure on the FSW one... Canadians tend to hold America high.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by Eniolakiite(f): 2:32pm On Jul 24, 2020
I'm sure the individual meant the statement with regards to many things other than the current pandemic. Even when processing for FSW, if an American is applying for Canada PR or your documents are coming from American institutions or you have American experience, the process is different from say compared to Nigeria. They hold America high. It's all politics.

bezimo:
You want to retract that statement because that absolutely not true. Canadians don't want Americans to come to their country right now.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Eniolakiite(f): 12:21am On Jul 24, 2020
Yea a very big business smiley

iwriterng:
If you think people in the US don't want you to come over here because of the advice they're giving you, you can't be more wrong.

Your absence or presence does not cause anybody any harm, so why would they discourage you from coming?

Sometimes, we just like hearing what we want to hear, and this is exactly why religion is a big business in Nigeria.

If you think students on F1 visa have the luxury of time to wish you bad luck, wait until you resume and see how busy and stressful your life is; much less invest the little free time you have into discouraging others.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Eniolakiite(f): 3:11pm On Jul 23, 2020
Yea

LagosismyHome:
If you have a legal residence /staying status in a different country then yes you can apply ... . If you are there illegally... then I guess everyone knows that answer No

So if you are a student in the US that F1 is a legal staying status so yes you can apply for a visa for spain

Schrodinger1:
This was outrightly uncalled for. She does mean no harm. I want to believe you're very new on this forum if not, you wouldn't have made such malicious comment. You're also quick to attack those in diaspora.

The way many Nigerians that want to leave for this Fall think is not just ridiculous but rather pathetic. You derive pleasure in chastising those that have left and already studying abroad whenever they tell us the truth and what the reality is. The current situation is beyond our control and we must know that.

Particularly, when they tell us not to be over ambitious, but be proactive and frugal in spending and in each stage of the process, we go about calling them names, attacking them like they invented the virus.

Unsurprisingly, many Nigerians prefer being deceived and given false hope especially when the otherwise is highly probable. Little wonder the country itself is in this precarious state since independence.

Just so you know, No Nigerian here is more willing to depart for this fall like myself. I'm 10times as desperate as anybody here. It's my 4th year in this hustle. I've once been denied without funding last time. Now with a full funding plus GA and an active SEVIS Fee that will expire in few weeks time, I ought to be more bias and subjective than yourself. Yet I'm not.
Learn to see things logically and not with the church mentality.

I'd advise us to hope things would turn around for our good for the Fall, but do not expect it will.

Hopefully, everything dies down before spring.

Most of these countries have had high cases and have been able to really manage it. Nigeria that we are not even doing proper and enough testing and we didn't take lockdown seriously. We turned it to curfew smiley Now our leaders are fainting to avoid answering questions grin
