Thank you I have made videos about them especially about my apartment, my school, and how graduate assistants can survive regarding bills. Go check all my playlists. Thanks again.
Eniola your YouTube videos are very helpful, I suggest that you make videos for your personal expenses as an international student in Clarksville,TN (how much you spend for rent, utilities, groceries etc.) Also, A day in your life at APSU and your experience as a graduate teaching assistant. I don’t think you have videos for those.
I am not in connection with this. I don't know who this individual is.
My advice is You can always do the process yourself. Many people like myself have gotten full scholarships abroad by doing what was required by ourselves. Don't waste your money and avoid scammers fam

Here is my view

Well, I wasn't specifically asked that question during my time, and also I have the opportunity of working here with STEM OPT for the next three years so I am looking into exploring that. Nigeria will always be home and I will be back at the right time
Hello fam and congratulations to all those that have gotten their visas. Grad sch has been a whole lot for me but all I see now is the light at the end of the tunnel as I will be graduating in May.
As a prospective international student, you need to know some things and prepare yourself. The job market is extremely competitive over here. This was how I landed an internship in my last semester of Grad school after hundreds of applications since I started my masters program. An internship makes it easy to secure a full time job upon graduation.

After the hurdle of applications and landing scholarship and all. Now you have gotten your visa, you are about to start grad school. Do you know what is expected of you I outlined those things in this my new video.
sesan01: I tried posting my PPR story here yesterday but the nonsense antispam bot banned me for 24hrs, so I decided to outsmart it by posting screenshots
intrinsicniyi: Decision to travel: Since my undergrad days, I’ve always nurture the possibility of staying permanently in a first-world nation. However, all forms of discrimination I experienced when pursuing my MEng degree in South Africa made me develop sheer determination to pursue Canada EE program. Also, the opportunity to become a Canadian citizen excites me.
How did I know about EE? Back then in Lagos, my ogas at my workplace (including the HR that recruited me) were all disappearing to Canada in 2016/2017. Out of curiosity, I gathered some info & came to nairaland to know more. Surprisingly, reading about how straightforward the process is, the exodus of people leaving Naija & seeing all the beautiful Canadian pictures struck me & at that moment, I knew I go get the PPR email one day.
ECA: Frustrations in SA led me to evaluate my undergrad degree with IQAS despite knowing that I wouldn’t get ITA with my score. IQAS took a whole 9 months - they no try at all. After getting my IQAS ECA, I proceeded to register for IELTS & was fortunate to record L 8.5, R 8.0, W 7.5, S 7.0 - I actually thought I’ll fail the speaking test - English hard . Afterwards, I created my EE profile.
Upon completing my MEng program, I immediately forwarded my official transcript & letter of completion to WES. WES response was swift, can’t remember the timeline. Then boom! 475. I got ITA 2 draws after updating my profile & the journey begins.
Collating documents: I was a bit proactive. I’ve arranged all my docs prior to submitting my WES application. Gift deed came from my Elder Brother (God bless you young man) & was notarized. As I dey prepare to submit my application in SA, I got a PhD offer from USA & I was like, I still get time make I go submit this thing for yankee.
Submitting my application: January 2rd, 2020. I tried everything to submit my application but e no go just transmit. Hello Village people, I’ve come a long way you can’t stop me now. I was frustrated & slept over it. I woke up on January 3rd, 2020 to revisit my profile & I realized the application wasn’t transmitting because it’s a new year & I suppose update my work experience (the system wants to know what I’ve been doing from Jan 1st - Jan 2nd, surprising right? The systems discovered a gap in my history). Quickly, I put my new role as a GRA & it came downed on me to also update my SA address to USA address. Finally, I submit the application Oo. AOR was almost immediately.
Receiving Updates: Passed medicals 23rd January & got biometrics request few days after.
COVID-19 happened & the estimated completion date of my application (July, 3rd 2020) got expended.
I became inpatient & started calling IRCC every other day. In August, I ordered GCMS notes & everything came as passed.
Yesterday, I received a message in my mail to check my profile. Na so I see PPR letter and “Review of Additional Documents changed to Not Applicable”. GCMS notes showed how Case Analyst ransacked Facebook, LinkedIn & other platforms to confirm work experience and other checks.
Thank you everyone & I’ll drop landing gist accordingly. Na soft landing e go be as I still dey yankee trying not to run mad due to the insane grad study work.
Lastly, I’m open to helping anyone in anyway I can.
That success story you have heard about didn't happen overnight. It takes time, patience, dedication and effort. Don't give up on that goal you are pursuing.
What is changing isn't the need to renew the entry visa every 2 years, it is the duration of status issued by CBP at the border that is changing. Previously you would get D/S (i-94) stamped on your passport. That meant you could stay in the US for however long your program of study was. The need to renew your visa after 2 years only applied if you leave the US at anytime after the expiration of the visa. If you chose to never leave the US, you could stay in the US for however long your program of study, transfer to another program and continue on for as long as you wish.
The intended change is that rather than stamping you in as D/S at the border, your I-94 will now include a definite expiry date 2 years from date of entry to the US. It means if you are in a 4-year study, you must leave the US before the expiration of your I-94 to renew your visa. That gives the US more control over anyone who comes into the US in F, M or J visa status, as your status would need to be examined every 2 years rather than never, which is currently the case. It doesn't really change much, as long as you remain in status, you should be able to renew your visa easily.

I heard about Canada EE from my friends when we were discussing alternative ways of settling abroad. I never really considered it initially because I was discouraged by the money and the thought of me writing IELTS exam was not entertaining.
Canada EE began to have roots in my mind when when I completed all my compulsory coursework PhD program and I was not interested in H1B Visa lottery wahala.
IELTS: I registered for IELTS exam in January and at the same time I was trying to turn in my Chapter one and Two of my dissertation, coupled with me going for conferences and moving to a new apartment. It was not easy but I survived. I wrote the exam on March 23rd, result was available by April 5th, LRSW 8,7.5,7,7.
ECA: I had already created a WES ICAP profile back in 2014 when I was applying to universities in USA. So I created another account for the ECA and called the customer care service to transfer all my transcripts to WES ECA. My transcript were transferred FOC and my younger brother helped with my WAEC result back in Nigeria. ECA report got completed on April 18, created my profile same day with score of 469.
References: I combined 4 different NOC. I was unable to get reference letter for NYSC (NOC 4031) but wrote the letter myself and notarized it, I attached my SOA to show salary deposit. I also used my industrial training, was paid in cash (NOC 2282/1, June 2009-November 2009, 40hrs/week), submitted only the reference letter. Family business, paid in cash (NOC 6211, June 2014 - July 2015, 40hrs/week), Attached salary deposit. Research assistant (RA): My RA was broken down into four parts (September 2017-December 2017, 20hrs/week), (January 2018 - May 2018, 20hrs/week), (September 2018-December 2018, 15hrs/week), (January 2019 - April 2019, 10hrs/week).
PCC: I applied for UK PCC and it was pretty straightforward and easy. Nigeria PCC: A friend helped me out with it. US PCC: Easy and straightforward also.
Medicals: I had already booked for medicals weeks before ITA. I live in Louisiana, I had to do a 8hrs drive down to Houston (longest drive I’ve ever done).
Fund: I received 100% funding from my dad’s business account. I never knew wire transfers could be that stressful, the agent took over 2 weeks after the money has been cleared from my dad’s account. Submitted a gift deed with it. I submitted all my account and credit card statement.
I raised 3 webform, 1st webform: To submit Bank letter, I initially submitted just my 6 months statement of account, 2nd webform: I had a UK visa refusal back in 2011, submitted the letter, 3rd wedform: I submitted my RA work experience Paystub.
Regarding the Research Assistant reference letter i submitted for my application. I realised that i forgot to mention an extra $600 which reflects on my paystub for January 2018. I initially had a Research assistantship with another department (Same job duties) for January 2018, submitted my timesheet for that month and was paid $600 but i later moved to my current department when i received a better offer of $1250/month. This explains the discrepancy between what was stated in my Reference letter and Paystub.
Received a Procedural Fairness Letter on February 5th regarding notarized NYSC letter I submitted, I was given 7days to respond. I was in a dilemma because I knew no-one living in Brass Island, Bayelsa state. But after pleading my cause throughout several forums, I was able to locate a friend who knew a friend who also knew a friend living in Brass Island. That was how I submitted the original reference letter and stamped statement of account on February 12th.
Ordered GCMS note in August and I was relieved to see Eligibility met, just waiting on final approval.
I tried calling them this morning but it was not going through, I later had to give up not knowing that 20 minutes later I was going to receive the approval email.
Work reference letter is all ircc asked lets stop sending what is not required. If they need salary account let them ask. Nothing controversial with gift deed that is what many Nigerians use. No one asks about donor level of income or source of the money. Just do it and wait for ppr
The willingness to do extensive research by oneself is highly important and should not be taken for granted. There is so much to learn on threads like this on Nairaland.
Interesting. One thing is we can't compare Nigeria to other African countries. Nigerians travel abroad more and Nigeria is highly populated. Most of all, a pandemic is going on. Most countries are just being careful.
