JJuanMiguel:
Not only lecturers, Doctors, electricity workers etc are often being underpaid and owed salaries for months. Things like this won't stop till we get good and credible leaders.
The solution is not to be going on 6 months strikes every year.

Students should brace up and find something else to do.
What is the solution? Stop fighting for your right because others are not? Nigerians and "leaving everything to God"
ASUU's fight should be a wake up call to others to stand and fight for their right since that is the only language the government understands.

JJuanMiguel:
Who makes the offer?
Employer or employee?
Note that the terms of employment are not even been kept by FG. Some of you don't know what is happening. Lecturers often find themselves being owed several years of allowances. These are part of the agitations.

heykims:
I'm not referring to young professionals. Senior doctors, engineers at the the peak of their professional careers don't earn as much as Ahmad Bashir. I'm not justifying the FG stand but kindly understand that all civil servants are underpaid and not just lecturers or professors.
OK. The fight should begin from somewhere. The fact that some are fighting for a better pay should be a wake up call to others instead of trying to insinuate that since no one is talking, everyone should keep shut. We cannot afford to be losing money to some persons not doing much. The reminder is that, from our tax and collective resources is where all these appointed people and politicians get their huge pays and heavy allowances. We should applaud ASUU for standing against the lopsidedness and trying to awaken others to rise up from the slumber! It's only Civil Servants government can choose to owe them several years of allowances. We cannot continue to allow the government do whatever they want.

I guess the entire civil service should embark on strike too because hardly none in the service including doctors, engineers, judges earn a basic salary as much as Ahmad Bashir.
A Prof is at the pinnacle of his career. An Engineer, Doctor could just be someone who just graduated 3years ago from the University. Judges are receiving huge pay and they approved increment for them about a month ago. Now you be the judge.

Realist12:
All those sadistic professors
Why won't they be saddistic when one small boy called Ahmad Bashir even while he has resigned earns almost as twice what a Prof receives!

1. The man trust his illiterate subjects to still vote the non-performing party.
2. Northern Nigeria has the highest number of illiterates in the country.
3. The reason for 2 above is because the politicians want to continue manipulating them.
I hope the above helps.

You can only get votes from your brainwashed subjects. More reason the north remains largely uneducated to the benefit of the politicians.

A naval officer was dismissed for sodomy see https://punchng.com/navy-dismisses-officer-accused-of-sodomy-others/#:~:text=A%20Nigerian%20Navy%20personnel%2C%20SLT,Delta%20state%20on%20four%20counts.

A Nigerian Navy personnel, SLT VN Ukpawanne has been dismissed for allegedly committing sodomy with a teenager (name withheld).

Ukpawanne was arraigned before a court-martial set up by the Nigerian Navy in Delta state on four counts.
He was said to have been found guilty of disobeying standing order, attempting to commit sodomy; disgraceful conduct and wrong use of drugs.
The offences were said to be punishable under sections 57, 95; 93; 65 (1) of the AFA CAP A20 LFN 2004.

The news was shared on Punch official Facebook page and in the comment section, a lady who happened to have graduated from the same school as the guy said the guy was once suspected of the same while an undergraduate. The same was corroborated by some other persons who had known the guy in his undergraduate days.

Many thanks. Why my profile is showing second semester whereas I am just starting master program. I hope that's not an issue
The School is operating a dual semester system where both semesters run simultaneously.
However, the first semester in a calendar year is name the first while the second is named the second for the year irrespective of your own semester that you are.
The school calendar is currently on 2022/2. That does not mean you are in your second semester. It means this current semester is the second for this year.

That girl deserves happy life and opportunity to grow with her other siblings.
Let the truth reveal it's self.
If you pursue this, the woman in question may organized for your dismissed. And from your analysis she can afford that.
leave that child alone and let God be the judge.
My one cent
Nice but God does not come down Himself to judge. He used people. Maybe He is about using OP to deliver justice. grin

My only worries is that, they guy who wants the daughter back is not even good enough to raise a child. More reason I support he leave it the way things are.
