Since Yar'adua assumed office, another FOI bill has been started It has also been watered down, neutralized and diluted. A day or two to the end of their tenure, they have sent it to the President. Hnmmm [/size] |

Briton, Nigerian die in Kaduna plane crash
A Beechcraft plane with registration number N364UZ, belonging to an oil company, Shoreline International, has crashed at Barkallau, near the National Open University in Kaduna today.
The incident, which occurred around 12 noon, claimed the lives of the two occupants - the pilot, a British national, and one Nigerian engineer.
The aircraft was said to be on test running after undergoing maintenance at Dornier Aviation Nigeria Limited (DANA) before it suddenly crashed few minutes after taking off from the premises of the servicing company.
The public relations manager of Dornier Aviation Company, Barshir Chedi, who confirmed the incident to journalists, said the two passengers on board the ill fated plane died, just as he said that the pilot and the engineer were on test flight after maintenance before they received the news of the crash.
He declined further comments on the accident, saying that the managing director of the company was in the proper position to do that.
However, some aircraft engineers who were at the scene of the incident faulted the maintenance procedure by Dornier Aviation Nigeria Limited, alleging that the routine service on the crashed plane was not properly handled. Though they didn’t want their names mentioned, they explained that the accident could not had occurred if proper maintenance was done.
An eye witness, Muhammadu Musa, whose farm the plane crashed on, narrated that he was in his farm when he suddenly heard the sound of the plane coming down before he ran for his life.
“I quickly rushed to the plane hitting the door with my hoe to force the door open before smoke started coming out and it later caught fire. I was still there helpless before some soldiers and officials of NEMA (National Emergency Management Agency) came, by then the smoke fire had increased,” Mr Musa said.
It took the intervention of the NEMA fire service officials to put out the fire before the burnt bodies of the two occupants were removed from the plane wreckage. Their bodies were later taken to the Nigerian Air Force Hospital in Kaduna.
The director general of NEMA, Mohammed Sani Sidi, who rushed to the accident spot, expressed sadness over the crash. He described it as unfortunate and and prayed for the repose of the souls of the casualties.
At the scene of the incident for rescue operation were officials of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Road Safety officials, police and military personnel, and members of the Nigerian Red Cross Society. 234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/Home/5704493-146/story.csp

Politics › Re: What Is The Big Deal About Fashola? Nonsense! by enyojo(f): 5:17pm On May 24, 2011 |
Big B1: @Topic: I completely see your point. Do not get me wrong Fashola is ok, but absolutely not my Messiah. Apart from the dude just doing his job, there is also enormous amount of Lagos State revenue available to make all these great things happen. We must never forget that Lagos State still remains the easiest state in the entire country to manage; there is money constantly being generated, the state isn't that big, and Lagosians are very simple and mostly from a very similar root.
In a country where a focused, competent and sincere leader has not been witnessed for over 30 years, it will be unfair to blame folks that see Fashola as the greatest of all time. I May share the same state of mind with these folks as soon as Gov Fashola is able to man up and confront Tinubu.
Fact: More revenue More projects More stealing You don't have to believe me, but I can assure you that Gov Fashola knows what I'm talking about> I don't believe that the way u r enlightened, u can say Lagos is the easiest state to Govern!!! Yobe State has population that is half of Alimosho LGA! Yobe does not have Sophisticated Crimes as where rampart in Lagos before Fashola empowered and 'rebranded' the Lagos security. There is no aggressive atlantic ocean eating up the state as lagos is facing, there are not ever-swelling population of jobless masses, there are no Thousands of Trailers weakening and over-stressing the roads as Lagos faces every minute. Apart from Yobe state, 90% of the states in Nigeria are as 'easy to govern' as Yobe state |

Air Nigeria is in serious distress now, ask the workers, he is more interested in acquiring new businesses and fir his name to be in the media than making his present business work Since he is good at Buying companies, let him appoint people who are good at managing them. Simple! I think IMPACT MATRIX is a firm that will be of immense help in that regard. |
