ezeUche, In terms of Radicalism, yes, but Governing takes a whole lot than just radicalism. How to manage self-appointed Elders and godfathers is another thing which Fashola has. Remaining calm and not revealing all your strategies is also important. Like technically sacking the Igwes by withdrawing their 'Igweic' licences is not a good one if u ask me.

I did not insult Buhari, says Babangida Aliyu

print email

The governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu, who was reported to have called Muhammadu Buhari a bad leader, thus drawing the ire of the retired general, has denied making the statement.

Mr Aliyu, who was speaking at yesterday’s inauguration of the state lawmakers, said he had enormous respect for Mr Buhari, and the alleged insult was a figment of somebody’s imagination. He said he had never insulted the presidential candidate of the Congress for Progress Change as reported by a section of the media.

“I have a lot of respect for General Buhari as a former Nigerian leader and elder statesman; people misinterpreted my statement on him after the general election. I never insulted General Buhari,” the governor told the gathering which included the CPC chairman in the state, Umar Shuaibu, and three CPC legislators.

He accused some Nigerians of “twisting remarks” of public functionaries to satisfy their whims and caprices, and warned about the danger of such actions to the unity of the country.

Mr Aliyu had come under severe criticism from supporters of the former general after he was quoted in Jos, Plateau State, during a retreat organised for elected officials in the North Central geo political zone of the country to have said how lucky Nigerians were that Mr Buhari lost the April elections. He was allegedly making allusions to the violence that attended the polls in the north and the attendant agony.

Servants of the people

Mr Aliyu had, during yesterday’s event, admonished the new legislators not to use their powers to threaten his administration; rather, they should think of making good laws for the development of the state.

He advised them to consider themselves as servants of the people, not their masters, and remarked that it had been the cornerstone of his government this last four years. Mr Aliyu urged members to take great interest in their constituency projects and ensure that they are well executed.

Traditional rulers and prominent politicians were among the teeming supporters and relations of the elected lawmakers who attended the inauguration.

Does anyone else out there have information on how one can successfully contact the many agencies/ministries for information? Anyone who has actually tried to contact any of the institutions to date would probably have figured out that majority are really not available via the email addresses they claim.
We finally have the opportunity to know, if you have the information please make it available so we can all go head on and attack our problem in Nigeria once and for all.
I VISIT OUR ABUJA OFFICE REGULARLY. WHAT INFO DO YOU WANT TO SEND TO THEM?

Read in between the lines before you celebrate the "end" of zoning.
I WILL ATTEMPT TO ANSWER YOU LINE BY LINE:

1. Which geopolitical zone is Tambuwal from?
SOUTH-WEST

2. Which geopolitical zone was Yardua from?
NORTH-WEST

3. What deal did GEJ and OBJ cut with the North to allow GEJ emerge as president?
UNDISCLOSED (BUT DON'T THINK ITS TO GIVE THEM SPEAKER OR ELSE HE WOULDN'T HAVE FOLLOWED HIS WIFE LIKE WOMAN WRAPPER TO IMPOSE MULIKAT ON PDP)

4. Do you really think the PDP leadership was caught unawares considering the whooping support Tambuwal got?
YES! A DAY TO THE VOTING IN THE HALLOW (BUT HOLLOW) CHAMBER, GEJ LODGED THE MEMBERS IN EXQUSITE HOTELS WITH BRIBES TO VOTE MULIKAT

5. Did GEJ and OBJ honestly believe the other reps would support Mulikat?
YES! IF PDP HAS SUPPORTED A HAIRDRESSER IN PATRICIA ETTEH, WHY NOT A QUALIFIED LAWYER IN MULIKAT

6. Which geopolitical zone advocated for the regular zoning formula and why?
IGBOS ADVOCATED TO IT; REASON BEING THAT THEY FELT CHEATED BY GIVING THEM ORDINARY SGF WHICH IS NOT AN ELECTIVE POST

7. Which candidate would serve the bellies of the floor members best?
FIRST TAMBUWAL, SECOND MULIKAT, THIRD AJIBOLA MUIRINA. IN THAT ORDER, AN AJIBOLA WHO IS A SWORN GODSON OF OBJ (WHO HATES THE SATANIC PAY) WOULD HAVE CRASHED IT DOWN. BUT TAMBUWAL WON'T ! BUT THIS IS MY VIEW. IT MAY TURN THE OTHER WAY ROUND.

8. Why has ACN been having romantic affairs with PDP lately?
BECAUSE ASIWAJU THE LEADER OF ACN HAS PAID HIS DUES AND EVERYONE IS NOW BEGGING HIM FOR THEIR SUPPORT. IT WILL PROFIT FASHOLA TO BE HUMBLE TO HIM AN GET HIS BLESSING TO BE PRESIDENT. BECAUSE IN THE NEXT 2 YEARS, ROCHAS, SAMBO AND EL-RUFAI WILL START COMING TO ASIWAJU FOR HIS SUPPORT FOR PRESIDENCY.

9. Who did the ACN members support and why didn't they vote for a South Westerner?
SO THAT PDP WOULD BE FOREVER DEAD IN THE SOUTH-WEST. DON'T ASK THIS THE SECOND TIME!

10. Is Tambuwal not a PDP member?  undecided
YES BUT A REBELLIOUS MEMBER. SO HE IS MORE OF AN OPPOSITION IN PDP

[s]I honestly do not think these things happened overnight. I believe it is all part of the big plan. Compensation politics and zoning are still very much alive. These boys have only just adopted new strategies to solve their problems.[/s]
YOUR CONCLUSION IS GROSSLY INCORRECT AND A DISTORTION OF THE FACT ON GROUND. ZONING HAS BEING NAILED. THE COFFIN HAS BEEN SEALED. SO #1,2,3,4TH CAN ALL BE FROM SOUTH-EAST FOR ALL I CARE. JUST AS 2,3,4 ARE NOW FROM THE NORTH! ZONING IS DEAD!! HALLALUYA!!

Shame on the Yorubas. We are now the laughing stock of all.Dont console yourselves with all those we dont like mainstream crap.Nigeria is a center-based country.
I hate the ACN for betraying the south west. They acted selfishly. Bleeding b.astar.ds!!!
I hate GEJ and his wife for anointing a woman in a highly chauvinistic environment. Muraina Ajibola would have done better. If I were not Yoruba, I would never vote a woman to be my speaker.
I am not happy.
On the contrary, before you begin to open your mouth to abuse a whole tribe, listen:
The loss of a PDP from South-West is a gain for the yoruba race.
It has paved way for a yruba Presidency in 2015.
How?
The reason why PDP denied the Igbos who voted massively (plus rigged terribly) for GEJ for Speakership post was simply because they wanted to use the position to REVIVE PDP in the yoruba land.
At first, Tinubu made his god-daughter Abike to be Mulikat's campaign manager for the post.
Later, it became clear to Tinubu and ACN that the best way to kill PDP totally in the SouthWest is to rezone the Speakership to NorthWest which also heals the pains left behind after they (ACN) dumped Buhari (another North-Westerner) for GEJ.
Aminu's election as Speaker will last very long at least 4 years since he is the will of the Reps.
AS FOR THOSE SAYING HE WILL BE IMPEACHED FOR PARTAKING IN BANKOLE'S STOLEN BORROWED N10BILLION, THE TRUTH IS THAT EVERY SINGLE HON IN THE 6TH HOUSE GOT A SHARE OF THAT MONEY. BANKOLE HAS SAID HE AND HIS DEPUTY DID NOT PARTAKE, BUT FOR ALL WE KNOW, ONLY TAMBUWAL CANNOT BE SINGLED OUT WITH EMEKA TO BE PROSECUTED. IMPOSSIBLE!!

Wizardofoz:
1. Corruption is universal. Corruption in societies, being a part of informal politics, is inevitable. This does not mean that it is acceptable, that it should not be fought. On the contrary. Corruption is as old as human civilization and its forms have been constantly developed and refined. Just like other forms of economic white-collar crime corruption always occurs without automatically being linked to the decay of a state or the decline of moral standards.

2. "Last summer, the current president of the German parliament, Norbert Lammert from the ruling CDU party, even made it clear that the parliament has no intention in tightening the paragraph dealing with bribery of parliamentarians.
Why are German parliamentarians hesitant? They fear investigations without prosecutions. Germany has a rather lax immunity law and a simple investigation can ruin political careers. “Why risk this?”, think many parliamentarians."

3. What is your point? Are you insinuating that fighting corruption = bringing Nigeria under servitude? LOL

4. Please, i am having problems following your train of thought, help me understand you better.
AT THIS POINT, I SHOULD HELP YOU OUT.
1. Corruption being universal does not mean you should justify its excessive and massive presence in Nigeria. So don't justify the mess we find ourselves just for your undue support for GEJ

2. Hammering the germans simply because you want to prove to us here that Nigeria is not that bad as u imagine and fantasize is leading us to no where. so no comment on that.

3. I am the LAST person that will say such a crap that fighting corruption equals bringing Nigeria under Werstern servituede. What I meant was that from their misbehaviours, Nigeria has had Presidents who play second fiddles to the west. they go to every extent to ensure that the please the developed nations even to the detriment of crushing their own citizens and betraying their country. E.g, GEJ went to 'kneel' before a young Robin Sanders confessing as if she was a Pope that He lacked administrative abilities,
another example, Obj damned the Nigerian constitution that stipulated the Nigerian boundary by selling off Bakassi all on the pretext of obeying an Int'l court decision.

4. To understand my train of thoughts, read btween d lines and don't just view my posts through any compromised lens of prejudice.

WIZARDOFOZ, I painstakingly went thru all your write up.
All I can say is that the bulk starts and ends on the presidents table.
At least you were in Nigeria (?) when the ICPC's stubborn Boss was uprooted by Dame patience Jonathan and replaced by a worn-out woman who resume work daily by 2pm.
This and several other factors have rendered the Anti-Graft bodies into a Presidency-dependent Toothless BullDogs

I'm not as interested in the EFCC mandate or what the law books say about them as I am interested in the fact that the President's influence or otherwise over them.
Wizardofoz and millions of youths can remain GEJ staunch supporters even when he makes huge gaffles. As for me and my house, all we know is that the PRESIDENCY IS NOT A PERSON BUT AN INSTITUTION!! If the present occupier drags the name of that institution into mud, we must salvage the institutioon to the detriment of the person

Does germany brings itself under servitude and fear of America as Nigerian presidents do? NO
So you you don't need to expect the same dumb tactics used by our President to be used by other Presidents of sane economies

WIZARDOFOZ,
I am not saying BankOle is or is not guilty, all I am saying is that Corruption is not athing to be attacked in suspicious manner as GEJ is handling it.
The man is so much of a party man for him to take any action that will not be in the interest of PDP. It was just because this one will help give him a sort of 'letter of credence' to Obama that he had to out of severe unwillingnes order it.

PoliticsRe: Dimeji Bankole Finally Arrested By EFCC by enyojo(f): 9:46am On Jun 06, 2011
In response to criticism, the IG of police then ordered the withdrawal of Bankole's police protection.

A source within the presidency said Jonathan, who is due to be received this Wednesday at the White House, did not want the baggage of appearing to American officials to be continuing the tradition of protecting Nigeria's major corrupt officials.

The source said that Jonathan then instructed the IG of police and the DG of the State Security Service to immediately withdraw Bankole's security detail.

How I wish he was made the Energy Minister!
One hurriedly cooked up BLUESTAR CONSORTIUM of Dangote and Otedola wanted to buy over all our Refineries as compensation for their massive bank-rolling of the Yar'adua/Jonathan presidential campaign for 2007.
Then Obj had positioned El-Rufai to be Energy Minister in the then new administration. However, since the Bluestar trade-off was on-going, coupled with the stiff labour opposition, the best decision PDP could take was to withhold the dangerous El-rufai from becoming Minister of Energy which would have adversely aggrevated the already compounded rip-off of our collective Refineries.

I personally was not against the sale of those refineries then. However, the idea of selling Refineries at a cost that was lower than the cost of last repair prior to their attempted sale, Is absurd!
Beside, making El-rufia to be incharge of Power/Petroleum would have put Nigeria among the BRIC nation today.

RomanceRe: How to overcome a broken heart? by enyojo(f): 3:52pm On Jun 05, 2011
HOW TO OVERCOME HEARTBREAK:
1. DO NOT ENTRUST YOUR HEART TO ANY HUMAN BEING. SIMPLY LOVE THE CHOSEN PERSON. I.E DO NOT TRUST A HUMAN BEING. IT IS ONE THING TO LOVE, IT IS ANOTHER TO TRUST. LOVE BELIEVES ALL THINGS (Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1Cor 13v7) When you Love a Person, you MUST believe the person but when you begin to trust a mortal failable man, then you are ascribing what is the excusive reserve of God to the person. You will be rewarded by a heartbreak!
"Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the LORD. He will be like a bush in the wastelands; he will not see prosperity when it comes. He will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives. Jer 17v5 and 6

2. ALWAYS HAVE AN ALLOWANCE IN YOUR HEART FOR BREAKAGE (ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS SUPPOSED TO LEAD TO MARRIAGE).
In as much as both of you are not yet legitimately married, you MUST always expect the unexpected, have an allowance for breakage. By so doing, you will have a 'shock-absorber' and not suffer severe damage IF it eventually happen. The reason is that you don't marry who you desire but who you deserve. If you are a cheat, don't expect the God of Justice to reward you with one of His faithful children. And if you are a man of Integrity, don't think your courtship with a daughter of Jezebel will lead to marriage, it will surely break EXCEPT you are a stubborn rebellious type.

3. FINALLY FOR NOW, ALWAYS SEE ANY HEARTBREAK AS THE SACRIFICE YOU HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE A BETTER FUTURE LOVER.
If you dwell on the past, you will pass away with the past. But if you forget the things that are behind, you will see seven better doors opened in place of just one that shut itself against your face. So don't drink Cement to die. You are tooooo configured to be disfigured!  cool cool cool
