Family / Re: Are You Feeling Suicidal? Come Here First! by ENZOSCIFO1: 12:00pm On Dec 19, 2011
Well I guess suicide is not the best and at times  I wish I can help out (no that I dont have my own issues) . A very close friend of mine as been giving us serious concern recently, he lost his job like two years back and wife just put to bed months back (after seven years of marriage) the chap is by far my most intelligent friend even has a Mastres in Finance from a british school. And its just unfortunate that no job is forth coming.Myself and a couple of family friends has tried by extending money gift et al to him most times but he's just so down cos he feels bad that he needs to collect from pple around him before he can feed his family.

I will try and direct him here perhaps he will find help or even read about worst case possible that may give him the courage and determination to strive on.

God bless u Mac for starting this thread.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Testimonies Of Graduates With 2.2 And Below And How They Made It. by ENZOSCIFO1: 5:16am On Jun 23, 2011
Well for me whilst I agree that a graduating student can achieve better than a 2-2 I have never considered it a bad result.
Graduated with a 2-2 some twelve years an ever since it has been up and up. Got my first job as a corper in a Nigerian bank and stayed in the industy for another 5 years (changed bank though) did a masters abroad ( was only bettered by a chinese genius in my masters class) an had a brief stinct with consulting abroad . Returned home 4 years back and got a managerial role in one of our major mobile telco, left about a year ago to start an investment/corporate finance boutique on the island and also an oil marketing firm and just last month commisioned our first fuel station.

Again I must mention that yeah I had a 2-2 ( cos I was the party an clubbing type back in school) but believe me I am far more gifted than the average 2-2 infact if I don't tell you after working with me over time you will suspect I must have graduated a 4pointer or top of my class as a matter of fact there are still some of my mates back then in school who felt am just a waste of natural gift.

So 2-2 on paper but more of 2-1 in terms of knowledge and quality. No regrets! Point is you can still acquire knowledge informally that makes you standout as a 2-2

Actually he won 4 (3 at Barca 1 at Inter)

Kanu won 3 dutch league and 2 premier league

Even at that its suprising that any footbal follower will doubt that Eto'o is more decorated

for good measure add this to what is already on board
Eto'o Kanu
European Supercup 3 0
World Club cup 2 0
FA Cup or its equivalent 3 3
Politics / Re: Jonathan, Buhari Woo Tinubu ! by ENZOSCIFO1: 8:44am On Apr 13, 2011
Summarily, if Buhari with all the noise and threats will form an alliance with Tinubu as being rumored then he's lost my vote; it only means he wants power and not transformation. i'm waiting for Tunde Bakare's comments.

My sentiments as well.
Politics / Re: Jonathan, Buhari Woo Tinubu ! by ENZOSCIFO1: 8:30am On Apr 13, 2011
Hmmm fellas lets analyse, First what makes PDP what it is? ( be it good or bad) I guess the answer to that its the people in PDP the OBJs,IBB, Atikus et al, in other words if the present constituent (i.e the memebers) of PDP can be done away with and replaced with perhaps ACN members that means we would havea a PDP but with different poltical ideology. Whats the  point am trying to make.?

If Buhari (whom i support) goes and beg the NLPF with members like IBB, Ciroma , Atiku to negotiate a deal with Tinubu's ACN, then I expect that even NLPF will be doing so at a price, now lets just assume that a deal is struck i.e. btween CPC and ACN with NLPF as middle men, and lets assume again that as a result of this deal the new coalition CPC/ACN wins the election, it will only mean that we have just succeded in going round and around and arriving at same spot without any forward progressive movement, reason being that we would then have a government of CPC/ACN in which NLPF ( same old PDP) will play a major and vital role possibly nominating men for ministerial appointments and what have you.

Conclusion, lets forget about a change in things to come for the next 8 years or more, its a win, win situation for the men that made PDP what it is and its a pity!
Politics / Re: Where Elections Won’t Hold ! by ENZOSCIFO1: 12:06pm On Apr 08, 2011
Pls I will implore us all not to blame Jega over this issue. Did someone say why? Ok i will explain about 3 days ago on Tuesday to be precise I was watching the local news on Channels and a new flash came up, A senatorial candidate in some district I cant recollect now some where in Abia state was just cleared by an high court to be the authentic candidate of his party. That was 3 days after the election was meant to take place, now tell me how will INEC or Jega begin to make preparation to accommodate such a candidate in just 3 days when his name or perhaps his party was not on the ballot that was printed initially.

This case is just one of the many funny issues bedevilling INEC and truly if we want free and fair election I think we should allow Jega and INEC do it any manner that is humanly possible.

stop disseminating your myopic and dangerous piece of information online. this is highly irresponsible on your part. what percentage of people can actually afford to study abroad ? are you saying that 40 million nigerians should jump ship and go study abroad ? what society will absorb 40 million nigerians ? why are you creating an inferiority complex int hose who choose to study in nigeria ? this is an abhorrent post.

Buzugee I can't help but laugh grin after highlighting those words above you still ended making the statement you just made. Kai Buzugee cant read and comprehend or u simply just don't understand English. Shame! grin grin grin

Graduated from a business school in U.K 2008 and trust me it was not an easy feat compared to my 9j education. PHCN or cultism or what have you is all part of th Ngerian society so i don't think that should b a factor in saying it makes studying in 9ja difficult. The beauty of the foreign system is that you feel really accomplished and knowledgeable about your field can't realy say that about the 9ja sysem.

A word of advise to everyone out there if you think your way to the top is through education and you really want to know pls if you have the resources don't even think about the 9ja system not for you or your children!

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Will You Join A Nationwide Protest Against The Unemployment Rate In Nigeria by ENZOSCIFO1: 8:14pm On Feb 21, 2011
Hey guys personally I will not join a protest and for the singular fact that I feel very little will be achieved doing so in our dear country due to who we are.
@amo4ce
Thanks bro! I respect your views and I am for entrepeneurship however, based on my own personal experience its better delved into with some form of direction and experience that our schools are not able to give. Started my firm about a year ago after quitting a 7.8 M job and presently have 8 employees of my mine, but guess what? I had worked for 3 different employers in 10 years before I got to that point. What I do today could I have done it 11 years back as a fresh graduate? the answer is a capital NO. Not to mean everybody should follow my path but rather I encourage people to go out there and work and learn before they completely mess up their future.

Being an entrepeneur is definitely the thing.

amor4ce:

@poster, first heal thyself. Nigerians who have had the capacity (finance, intellect, drive) but choose not to use such to create jobs should be looked at. They would include the employed and unemployed, the rich and poor, leaders and followers, etc. My take is that we protest against our individual selves first and take responsibility for our actions. This is not to say that there are those who have not been genuinely frustrated in their entrepreneurship endeavours. However, those who do the frustrating are part and parcel of our society.

Why not a protest against those employed cowards who are too scared or lazy to become entrepreneurs and create jobs but prefer the false security of their salaries?

I appreciate your advocacy fr entrepeneuship, however I strongly suspect that you belong to the follow, follow bandwagon group ( in otherwords you don't know what you're talking about)
See the bold ed part of your statement ; now lets assume we do as you have suggested and all those lazy and scared (using Ur words) do what you prescribed and decided to become entrepreneurs the so called job they will create who will take up those jobs since working for an organisation does not make sense to you, and what will happen to the economy if about 75% of the present wokforce quit and decide to start their own business.
Think bro , think b4 you miss it completely

Politics / Re: Jonathan Appionts Vice Chancellors For New Universities by ENZOSCIFO1: 6:06pm On Feb 14, 2011
^^^ A lady from Enugu State University of Tech.( ESUT). During my first day @ the NYSC camp in Mallam Sidi, Gombe State. She was directly in front of me on the queue and when it got to her turn to put down her details on the form/register she wrote the name of her school as simply ESUT of course the NYSC official reminded her that the name of the school should be written as it is and not some abbreviations as was the practice and she went her ahead and successfully wrote Enugu State Univ, and got stuck right there only for the official to tell her to complete it as she was wasting time, at that point she added the letter 'a' and she was told by the official again that it wasn't correct, there and then my sister just gave up and decided to fight back saying even with the little she had written that anybody can see that she was referring to University and right now she was too tired from the long bus ride from the east to waste her time in completing the word. The official sensing that she was stuck then insisted that if she doesn't complete it she can't move on to the next stage of registration. At that point she turned around to me to help her with the spelling of the word ( University) once again sighting fatigue as the reason she can't fully remember how to spell it.

^^^^^ Bros you don too try trying to make these people see reason with you may be you should just leave them alone with what they think is right. As its obvious some people on this forum will rather see and have University graduates that can't spell University ( as I witnessed in my NYSC camp years back) than see 95% passmark in O'level examinations.

^^^ Yeah perhaps every state deserves a federal university yeah perhaps, however, if the 'Univesities' are no longer able to meet their primary aim of churning out quality graduates then whats the essence of spending 4 yrs studying in those schools when am sure I can get some dumb degree certification ( as it is the case these days by studying online in some funny institutions) in some weeks. After all I will claim that with all your 4 years in a Nigerian university in terms of knowledge you are not better off, and ofcourse that will be truth.

Our universities need to provide us with quality labour force, not some bombo yahoo scammers.
Politics / Re: Jonathan Appionts Vice Chancellors For New Universities by ENZOSCIFO1: 10:14am On Feb 12, 2011
^^^^ Thanks bro.

Consider this analogy, A man wakes up one day and realises he has 36 wives and with over 70% of them with children ( government universities) that he has fathered and about another set of children say 5% which he didn't fathered ( private universities) but he accomodated them all. Now it so happens that the legitimate children are all suffering from one form of disease or the other ( in this case lets just say Kwashiokor since they are highly mal-nourished) and sooner than later he knows they will start dropping dead if he does nothing. And guess what the man did? he decided that he will rather listen to the yearn of the other 30% wives (states without universities) and get them to have their own children too so it will be balanced and watch them join the existing line of improvisment. The irony of it all is that the so called 5% bastard children are feeding fat and well taken care of coutesy of their biological fathers, but our centre piece Man can't be bothered cos what matters to him is to just litter the society with his Kwashiokor ridden children. Eventually has you very well know the out come some of the diseased ridden kids will die and some will survive of course will different kinds of deformity and other scars of the diseases they had to cope with over the years and eventually go on to start their family where the pivotal lessons ofgood family hood was not well or properly imbibed resulting into the kind of society you can imagine.

And I hear some people say 'congrats' to this lame and dumb man cos he was able have more children than anyone in the community.

Odunnu:

How do you suggest he does this? Give a feasible step by step solution module

I suppose you are setting me up for a backlash , like u can only criticise yet you can't find solution. The truth remains am not in position to give a step by step solution on this stuff cos its completely off my line and radar, but I also believe that GEJ has Special Advisers on such issues that should be a able to give a feasible solution of course if they are not the beauty queen type. Its all about developing a blue print that fits the future and following it rigously

And even if I can  give such feasible solution would I waste my time discussing it on nairaland ? with who? or to show say I sabi and win argument. C'mon don't lets kid ourselves new universities with the conditions of the existing ones are uncalled for.
Sports / Re: Lagos Fans And Booing: Whats Your Take? by ENZOSCIFO1: 11:35am On Feb 11, 2011
Guyz I think some of us are missing the point, I for one saw the whole match from the beginning to the end and I was angry that they were being booed my reason is simple. The match in question is a friendly match where the coach decided to do a whole lot of experimenting ( who can fault that) cos that was the whole idea of setting it up in the first place. Yeah they started well with about 5 people making their senior debut, however midway into the second half the coach ( I asume) thougt that certain individuals had given a good account of themselves and it was time to test out more players and gradually the game changed, and the booing started. The thinking is why boo a laboratory technician or labrats while experimeting, when its obvious that no new formular or theory has been put forward.

The booing was simply irrespnsible.

Odunnu:

Would somebody please tell me in few sentences what is wrong in/with our existing universities and proffer a solution to it.

Its quite unfortunate that one or two sentences as you have suggested cannot do justice to issue of the Nigerian university. Seriously i have had the previledge of having to school in both a Nigerian top federal 1st generation university and a regualr one outside the shores of this country. And trust me sister on this if you ever want to employ a fresh graduate for your organisation you will only think of a nigerian graduate if and only if there are no qualified foreign graduate.

The issues are simply too much, for me to start the most disturbing is the fact that the average graduate of the Nigerian system lack critical and creative reasoning ability and thats because the system does not encourage you to do that, rather just memorise some silly handouts and spew same 15 to 20 years old giberish out. What a shame.

As per solution i would have been more pleased if GEJ had invested his time and energy in getting those schools to their former glory rather than add to the rot

First of all I need to state that am a Niger Deltan ( Delta State precisely) b4 some one will eat me raw. The point am trying to make is  I don't understant this congratultory messages of welldone and so on for a dumb decision. Why start more Universities at this stage when the existing ones are practically dead. A reasonable % of our fresh graduates are not even compute savvy ( if you doubt ask Jega and INEC) the nigerian degree is not worth a dime outside this country (except ofcourse for admission processes in otherparts ofthe world). And for those who think it is something special for their state to  have a federal university, I salute your absurd mind or reasoning! Good Morning.
