As for the talk about overhaul, we need to strenthen the team even more because at the moment, we still do not have a bench that strikes fear into any team so, yes Rangnick was right when he opined that the team needs to be overhauled. Overhaul doesn't necessarily mean we will replace the whole squad however, it depends on the nature of the team and in our case it had to do with Strengthening the core of the team across each area (Defence, Midfield and attack) as well as improving the bench. So far, we have improved the defense as well as midfield but in attack, Antony has not stepped up to the level you expect of a player that cost that much and in midfield, you feel we need another player in the mould of Eriksen or someone in between Eriksen and Casemiro like Neves to ensure there's no shortage of quality in any case of an injury or suspension.

This is quite different because we're winning our games now. Unlike then when we lose, those ones too will lose, and we will maintain our position on the table.

Its nice to get carried away by our present fortune, but for us to maintain this for many years, our first 11 from last season will likely be changed completely bar 2-3 players. Then the bench too will have to be upgraded. We're not sure about Sancho. Elanga has no future here. Tell me we don't need to buy more attackers and midfielders? We were performing well relatively with McTom before Casemiro slotted in, Shaw has been playing LCB the last few weeks, AWB and Dalot has been performing well, the team is scoring goals without Ronaldo.

Teams buy and sell players every year, that doesn't mean we're 6 times behind Liverpool or some such rubbish. Ragnick was woeful, even Ronaldo admits this

We actually reached out to his people before the start of the season according to "The Athletics" report. EtH wanted him and De Jong. It was neither a risky or desperate move. He has around 5 more years of top level football and he brings much needed dressing room presence and professionalism.

How many 30 years old players go for 60m today? That's top tier desperate.
