Exactly. If we don't sign a DM, we have to come to terms with the fact that playing Pogba deep benefits nobody. He should be allowed to be creative, right in front of the double pivot.

that's a simple view.
this is Varane's heat map in the game. place it side by side with Pogba and Fred in your earlier posts and you'd see that Bruno cannot operate in that same area because they were pretty static there.
the bane of this team was poor passing from the back. if we can sort that out, we can still field our attacking talents comfortably.

The area I hoped Bruno will occupy is just Infront of the two CM

We already discussed this yesterday.

United should be pressing better after a loss of possession. I don’t see it at all apart from 3-4 players(Bruno, Cavani, Fred, Rashford). The others just jog or lament about the fact that they didn’t get a foul or crying about a missed chance.

The pressing needs to be better but I don’t want to even talk about that yet when there’s a gaping hole in the midfield crying for an elite operator. Pep’s teams are always compact and they look way better without the ball than when United are without the ball.

It’s a coaching issue. Pep and Ole aren’t in the same class. Every of our players should be tearing a muscle to get the ball back but we have too many lazy players. Martial doesn’t even run into space when we have the ball. He wants the ball to his feet every time. He should be sold as well but Joel Glazer is romantically in love with him.

When I said having two CDMs is guaranteed, I knew what I was talking about. This team, with the way we play, is not ripe for just one player there. Omo that player will suffer

We had two CDMs in Fred and Tom. Yesterday, I wasn't sure Pogba offered much without the ball. Bruno had all that freedom to play the free role. But what happens when we don't have those two together? That's why I was talking about our players the other day when we were excited about our attacking options. This team will suffer if we think we can fit in all those attacking players into the field at the same time

I can't find who is supposed to be there. I'm even confused if Pogba and Fred were supposed to cover that whole side why did Pogba now concentrate on the right and Fred at the middle. This team is confused

Looking at the heat map, Pogba covered the right side of the midfield, Fred operated more at the center. I'm not sure who was supposed to cover the left side. I could guess Bruno but he's our striker

their three CB Saïss, Kilman and Coady had 143 total touches, only Varane and Maguire had 144.

the only reason they created better was because they passed better and with better intent, and the first half which they played well was a hack challenge on United players which the ref allowed for reasons best known to him.

We kept the ball better in the second half. That really helped the team

Omo, I hate Bruno for one thing, impatience. Other players will give you the ball, and you will just throw it away in 1 sec without regret or anything.

He makes 1 quality/creative pass out of 10 or so in very game. Efficiency is key.

That impatience is killing. That's why we will always fall short when it matters but I see many people are not ready for that discussion here

That was because Adama, Trincao and co were dropping into the midfield. Would it hurt for him to drop in, deprive Wolves of the ball,make them run around and finally retreat? Is that not what happened at the end?

The CM usually drop to cover our bombing RB/LB when under a counter threat.

A sole DM won't solve the problem, but will be better than Fred or tominay in that role.

The issue is pogba can't play that pivot, he doesn't track back to cover for any bombing full back when under a counter, in that match Fred was cover for Shaw and Pogba for bissaka, they changed sometimes.
But I only saw Fred on trincao and Adama, although he was glided past like he didn't exist, but Pogba was just non-chalant.

Although I agree Bruno joins the CF way too much, but that is the tactics from the coach, Bruno can score goals, why not allow him?
He usually interchanges with the CF in the game, but Bruno isn't a stingy player, if he sees you free to score he would give you the ball.

What we need is a player that can play that pivot better than either MCfred, hence we were linked to more of CMs than DM, and pogba needs to accept his defensive duties or just be played in the RW till rashford returns.

I mentioned this yesterday. Just like when we wanted Sancho in. I said its like we are praying for Sancho to be bought so that when the play rubbish, the poor boy will hopefully do some magic to secure some or all points. Lets stop playing rubbish first

it is not personal glory na. When Bruno scores wont it be counted for the team? Bruno helpss the Midfiled but he needs to do his primary responsibility which is score or assist. Ole have given him that responsibility and that's what he will be judged with not covering up for Fred inability to control ball under no pressure

We have all acknowledged the fact that Fred aka eph12 is not a competent DM hence we need to starve the opposition of the ball as they cannot hurt us without the ball. To keep the ball, you need your players playing close to each other and in their respective positions. Bruno drifts from his position the most leaving it unoccupied for the most part. How do you expect Pogba to support Fred and still link the midfield and attack?

The players need to keep the ball and be more patient simple. How this is so difficult to understand amazes me

What you people are seeing is the difference between night and day.

Ole wants Pogba to control midfield for him, but Pogba is not a controller. Pogba and Fernandes are the same type of player to a large extent, and they want to do the same things on the pitch.

Theres a reason why Deschamps plays 2 DMS with Pogba at all times. He doesn't just play DMs gaan. He parks the bus on top. That's why the much maligned Giroud lasted so long in French blue....because for Pogba to work best , you also need that target man that will stand upfield alone while his team mates bunker, waiting to hold up the long ball that will let his team counter attack.

Ole too knows this that's why at one point he was playing Pogba at left wing. The problem isn't Bruno. Bruno is doing what he needs to do in that number 10 position with his goal sense and short passes. The problem is trying to force Pogba and Bruno to play together.

The only way it can work is that 442 diamond las las...maybe with one of the front two playing as a winger.

Uhm how does passing equate to being bullied? I specifically addressed one thing which was passing. Fred was accused of being bullied, I agreed. Fred was accused of not being able to make passed, I countered.
