Otamendi was okay until he became useless. When he became useless he was used as a makeshift for a better player to come in.

We haven’t done anything similar. We still have Jones, Mata, Matic on our books. They hardly make the bench sef and they still get paid.

Lingard was useful until he became useless. Then Bruno came in. Same with Lukaku, Smalling, Young etc

1. City had been investing right before SAF left. United didn’t strengthen their squad then. By the time United realized they should, they already had other problems.

2. City appointed managers with similar football philosophy. Not a carbon copy of each other, but they’re similar. After LvG left, a similar minded well-respected hungry-for-success coach like Klopp should’ve been hired, not a dinosaur like Mourinho.

3. This is the most important. City were spending money on talents but not overspending on them. They broke records, yes, but by how much? They were smart about that bit. United on the other hand just kept throwing money at problems hoping they’ll magically disappear.

4. City spend when they need to spend. Good attack, not good enough defense? Take Diaz and Garcia. Bad goalkeeper? Take Bravo. E no do you? Take Ederson. Fernandinho getting older? Gundogan not enough? Take Rodri.


How long has United had the midfield problem? Has it been solved? How many players has been bought to solve it? Who are they?

5. Last transfer window should’ve been used to build a more robust squad. How many of the new players played
up to 17 league games?

When Ole’s contract expires hope they won’t go and bring in Nuno Esperanto of Wolves to lead us to the promised land.

City scored the most league goals last season but they conceded more than some other top teams. The logical thing to do was upgrade on defense.

They did that and look at what we have ? It’s not rocket science.

With the way United have been conceding silly goals, is it not obvious that a good CB pairing plus stable DM who will cover the defense is needed? There’s still a RW problem - there has been for years, but it’s not as important as the CB and DM problem because goals are not very hard to find , although one or two additions in that department won’t be a bad thing.

As I said, it’s not rocket science.

I'm sure you also have noticed that Pep has worked on his tactics to improve the defensive side. He's much more cautious today than yesterday. Imagine Pep playing 2 DM against us. He would never have done that before. Sometimes it's much more than just buying players.

As at last season, there was still confusion about a lot of things about this team. There's no confusion about Peps team. Buying players become easier when there's a very obvious direction and style. We're still trying to get that sorted. If we don't, we will buy players we can't use and blame Glazer's for it. Case in study, buying a midfield controller, patient player to play fast attacking football. And you wonder why he's not playing

If Liverpool didn’t sign a capable defender for Klopp they’d never have won the league and UCL.

At some point a team that’s doing well will need a glaring update in certain positions. If that need is not met, success will elude that club.

The ones they released millions of pounds to buy, you're complaining everyday. They're never good enough and a waste of money. How will any new signing be different?

We have spent much more than many clubs that have had much more success than us in the last couple of years. Spending has never been the problem

In a bid to cry about the 80m, we want to cancel all the attributes Maguire has. Something that's very glaring. That he's not worth 80m shouldn't take away all the attributes he has and what he brings to the team.
