That's where you're missing it. Some of us have been sympathetic towards ETH before the final. Looking at the troubles at United, the quality of players, injury woes I'd say he's been harshly judged. Up front, Rashford was out of form, Antony had his issues back at home, Hojlund finds it hard to adapt quicker, Amad was injured leaving us at the mercy of Ganarcho.
In the middle, Casemiro had his fair share when it comes to injuries, McTominay to, Mason? Thanks to Mainoo and Bruno that carry the team on their shoulders.

ETH isn't a saint either but not the devil you all are calling him and please it's not a must to follow your opinion stop calling those sympathetic towards ETH mad or whatever. We all want what's best for our club and you can't be shoving your opinion down people's throats.

Nothing can excuse the donut midfield ETH deployed last season. Thankfully someone spoke sense to him and his team played better in the last 3-4 games of the season

I would be more afraid if these players we had said the opposite. We need someone that will be very motivated to dispose many of our current players

He knows United and knows the atmosphere well already, but i don't know if he can be ruthless when it comes to selecting matchday squad based on form.

For me I see it as much more than match day selection. He has to be very solid and knowledgeable enough to create an impression. Those players need serious training.

We press aggressively with 3-5 players while the rest sit back.
Problem is it’s not coordinated and it leaves lots of spaces to exploit. That’s the origin of the donut formation.

We don’t need the best players to play that way but we need the right profiles to. If 3-5 players commit to the press and the rest don’t, it’s a recipe for disaster.

This is false. At best, most times, they press individually, not together

If the opponent’s press overwhelms us, then start hoofing it up the field.
Once you lose the ball, press the opponent very aggressively.

And it has backfired terribly.

Don’t tell me you haven’t noticed one consistent result of this mentality (very porous midfield) since the beginning of the season.

How many of our players do you see pressing at the same time from the front? Where is the aggressive and front foot? Where did you see this pressing of opponent very aggressively?

And before you say we don't have the players, we do not need the best players to play that

I think that’s what’s happened this season. He stuck to “playing his style” even though he doesn’t have the right profiles and it exposes the defense.
