However, consistency is only possible when players have a perfect understanding of what the manager wants to achieve and they strive towards this objective. But while doing this, they may or may not get the desired results. The consequence of this is 'pressure on the manager'.



In my own opinion, manager is not the club's major problem. Team cohesion is more important and this can only be achieved when players have better understanding of themsleves on the pitch.

No matter how good Mainoo is, if there is no proper understanding between him, Casemiro and Fernandes, we will continue to see disjointed movements. The same goes for Garnacho, Hojlund and whoever makes the attack line.

This also goes for the defence set up.

Invariably, a team becomes better when the individual players play as a unit, not as individuals. Our players are yet to really play as a unit, probably because there is a lack of understanding amongst them

You know this is an indictment on the coach right? He is not just there to select match day squad, and call out some players while the whole world can see others that have been underwhelming for a long time now

Football on the field depends on either the club's footballing philosophy or the manager's football philosophy.


Inter Milan has been more consistent over the years in the Italian league. I don't know if they play good football or not. But at least, they have been consistent.

The early days of Jose in Chelsea, with the likes of Essien, Makelele, Obi, Lampard. They played a kind of football, I don't know if it can be called good football but I bet Chelsea fans enjoy watching the team week-in week-out.

Good football, just like beauty, is in the eyes of the beholder.


I don't know what you refer to as good football but I know that Consistency with a particular football philosophy is what brings glory and success.

arsenal seems to be playing good football and getting results now. How long did they wait to get to where they are.

For close to 30 years, a once dominant force (Liverpool) was in the abyss of mediocrity. Even as at now, they are yet to beat their chest to say they have arrived.

If mancity should continue with their spending and Guardiola continues getting his like-for-like replacements, then it's gonna being ride for manutd because we are not even ready to compete. For now, only Liverpool and arsenal seems to have the stability needed to compete with mancity

So looking at how Arsenal, City, LFC and co started under this their current coaches, how long do you think is okay to endure rubbish? I hope you won't reference 30 years ago again o.

I'm not talking about actually competing for major trophies, just to see consistent good football

@lekkie073 how long do you think is enough to wait and see us play a good game considering we're not stuck in 1990 and can't be making reference to that era? Every other team is moving and moving fast, so how long? Remember we're not even talking about winning trophies or contesting for trophies, like just have a good game consistently.

Mainoo = 8/12 passes
Bruno = 16/21 passes
