brainhack: Yes and no. Not just any job*. i have the end in mind..... Why don't i take these millions and set-up something with it? spending some much, how much do i expect to earn? and so on.
Forget jobs, float your mind away from an average Nigerian graduate' mentality; I would be paying for a life experience. i like to think of it as knowledge bestowed from heaven . We don't live to work, we work to live. Its only one life, i plan to live it without limitations. This nigerian mentality you just saying sef. Lol. Forget the millions you spend on one course or the other, the best experience or knowledge is gotten on the job. You have some particular job you're targeting and that's why you want to go for this I presume. Good for you. But if not it's a waste of time and money. |

brainhack: Yes, you are correct to an extent. Today i had this same conversation with a Learning & Development professional, I don't want to obtain a qualification just for the sake of having one and be lost in the crowd but i am a rational thinker too. I presented your option and this option to him and he was all for this.
I cant go in depth to his explanation, if you think it is too expensive and it is not worth it, also know that you are correct based on your current level of knowledge (unfortunately Nigeria's situation has adversely affected all of us ).
its all about value and application Nah am looking at from the employer angle. I assume you will apply for jobs after this course? |

brainhack: The University's Department of Accounting & Finance is highly rated, the programme i intend to undertake has been accepted into the CFA Institute University Recognition Program.
I have gone through the course content, apart from the clear fact it provides a rigorous education; to me this knowledge will double as a life skill.
I am most definitely not concerned about location. It is all about the depth of what is being offered. That's okay. Just that personally I just need a fraction of that for ICAN, ACCA, and whatever professional cert that nigerian employers will value more. The remaining part can be used to set up yourself when you decide to go into private practice or open your own company. Unless you plan to stay there after your education I don't see the need. |

gypsey: by comfortable i mean financially, by the way i am not married yet and i also have a son out of wedlock, now do you think that's appriopriate? although i am living comfortably (in my own definition). i am not insinuating that one have to get married to be complete look! who wouldn't want to get a good wife early, have children and see their children grow? and what would a wealthy individual be doing living alone with no wife and children what does wealth even mean without a wife and children? again my opinion. I also know wealthy folks who are married too. I meant the 'more comfortable' in your post I quoted initially. You may think having a child out of wedlock is inappropriate maybe because of your religion or belief but you should know that not everybody share same belief. Not respecting other people's faith religion culture or belief is what has led to the chaos we are experiencing all over the world. You keep on saying my opinion which means you want us to respect it whereas you have no respect for other people opinion. It sucks really |

gypsey: well.. i find it hard to believe it's by choice. If one have a good and comfortable life what would stop them from paring up with some one they fancy and live even more comfortably? Unless they are waiting for yet to be born bride/bridegroom My opinion anyway. You see not everybody sees marriage the way you see it and you have to respect that. Some like you feel you have to be married to feel complete, others don't share same opinion. And I have seen wealthy men that have refused to settle down. Well to you, one must be married to live comfortably and I ask what exactly do you mean by this comfortable? |

gypsey: ofcourse it's about age, if not for porverty or lack of suitors who wouldn't want to get married at a young age? I suspect you must be old yourself It's not poverty or lack of suitor oga. It's by choice. I have seen men earning less than 40k get married. No matter how a lady looks there is always a guy on her case. |

Funlordjnr: Read this and understand where I was coming from all along! Yeah I agree with everything they said. I never disputed that. All I am saying is that I have watched Smalling move ball from the defence to the midfield many times. He is a new signing and of course people gush over new wives. I only pointed out that the video you brought was about his defensive abilities and not ball playing simple. I am excited about what is happening at old Trafford but I refused to be carried away. Jones at a time was fighting all over the defence for man United where as the problem was midfield. Last season our best outfield player was smalling. People don't realise that because opposition had direct access to the defence. The midfield was nonexistent and the pressure was always much. Now we have at least 8 players playing behind the ball immediately we lose it so the defence can relax a little bit. All I am trying to say is that I am still not convinced one is better than the other. Thank you. |
