Lingard had a lengthy injury and when he returned, he would still need to recuperate as he didn't get to integrate in the team. It would be a different case if he was already playing lot of matches before he got injured. I think he even got injured on his first game.

BTW, you should know Martial is a Youth yet was signed by Van gaal. And don't forget the likes of Blackett that was a starter until he looked out of his depth. Van gaal always blood in youth. That's one thing that can't be disputed.

Van Gaal was the architect of his own downfall. For about 3 seasons it was obvious that we needed solid midfielders that could make the middle of the park work and not always look to the wing. He failed in solving this problem and that is his fault. Money wasn't his problem I hope you agree on this?

The likes of Rashford and Lingard came through last season because the likes of Depay were disappointing and LVG had no choice but to turn to the bench. A Mourinho or any other coach would have done same thing too
