GBR1: I think Shaw goes forward decently enough. It's just that the synergy between Martial and him has been quite poor, and that's what limiting our attacking play down the left hand side.
Valencia was very impressive though. He plays like he can run the right flank completely on his own. Yea Valencia is OK on his own. He has the strength. But for Martial sake I hope he creates a bond with Luke so that wing can be effective too and that way keep opponents on the back foot at both wings instead of just one |

GBR1: Martial had a poor 1st half but got lively in the 2nd half. Somethings just didn't come off for him and i think he's gonna improve and be back at his best soon. He had 2 assists while being average and that's not bad at all. He deserves the benefit of doubt after all considering how he played last season. I believe Martial case was not helped by Luke inability to get forward like Valencia. |

Currently I live in Ibafo but am buying a land in Ikorodu. I believe you shouldn't go to mowe and these are my reasons 1. Development will come faster to Ikorodu than mowe. Ogun state government don't have plans for people staying in mowe ibafo axis. I trust Lagos state for faster development. Light, tarred road etc. I have vowed never to live in a place that the roads have no hope of being tarred. 2. By the time the 4th mainland bridge is completed Ikorodu will be so expensive to live. Very easy access to the island. This will fast track every development. 3. The go slow on that mowe ibafo road can be very terrible. |

Diademk07: Aw, Leicester clearly missed Kante.
I don't know if it was on here or some other forum I opined that "people often talk about our need to move from possession based tactic and operate a counter attack setup but do we have the players for it such as pacy forwards, a deeplying playmaker and a box-box CM like Kante to win the ball high up the pitch and surge out immediately to counter.."
Apart from Drinkwter and their pace, Kante was one important factor that made Leicester a functional team last season. He would win the ball high up the pitch and before any opposition team knows what hit them in the face, he would surge forward and start 'the counter' with the likes of Mahrez, Vardy, Okazaki etc who were all already in great position in the final third before Kante even won the ball, and with these forwards' pace, it was quite easy to put the finishing touch.
Without Kante, the forwards have to drop deep to get the ball and before they could glance up, the opposition teams already got back their defensive shape. Mahrez especially benefited a lot from Kante. That's one reason I was far up in Kante ass and wanted him to be signed.
From what I've seen from Kante replacement, Mendy is no box+box CM, haven't seen much of him though. For the first time I have to agree with you. Kante was marvellous last season at Leicester. Never caught ball watching, tackled strongly, always staying on his feet and never shied away from attacking duties when called upon. To me he was the best player in the EPL last season. Even when Mahrez, Vardy went off form last season he maintained his through out. He will be sorely missed. |

lekkie073: most times managers inherit a team they had no input in. so a new manager with his own unique tactics checks to see which of the inherited players can fit into his tactics. the ones dat cannot are shown the door or subsequently relegated to d bench. keeping players on d bench means such players are option B.
every new manager wants to add his own inputs to the team because according to Idi Amin "whenever a change in leadership occurs, few heads must roll" So we are basically saying the same thing right? We good bro? |

kokaneprodigy: Whether you accept or not, he influences the transfers no matter the club set up, stop saying shii!!! If he doesn't why was he told he would have to sell some players if he must sign more players after the Pogba transfer? And there was no part in my post where I talked about negotiation, even in coys managers declare vacancies in their departments it's the responsibility of HR to negotiate salaries. If you've ever worked in an organization, you'll know managers try as much as possible to reduce the over head operating cost of their departments, it's part of their KPI . I agree but you will also agree that company A incur total cost of 1 billion dollar for a calendar year and rakes in a revenue of 3 billion dollars does not make it less productive than company B that spends just 2 million dollar and have a revenue of 5 million dollar. In fact A has done better. Shareholders, stakeholders will agree with me. Thank you. |

kokaneprodigy: Transfer budget is one thing, wage bill incurred is another thing. If you understand how these things work you'll know y he was told to start selling players before he can get more signings. But what do you know about management? It is not possible for him to go above the wage structure of any club that's a fact. It is perfectly normal for a team or manager to sell players. Obviously he has hit the limit or almost which is why he is asked to sell before he can buy but how is that an issue? Which of the management? Football management or real life management? Anyways both boxes ticked . For football manager I just got the 2016 edition today . |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by eph12(m): 10:03am On Aug 13, 2016 |
lekkie073: what's Jose issue with selling players? as a manager he is tasked with identifying what positions needed to be filled in order to attain the clubs target.....and this targets most times means success on the field of play (trophies).
and need I remind u dat only clubs with no chance of trophies believe in buying player in order to sell for a profit. big clubs buy players to win trophies, not to resell at a higher value Though am not sure I understand your point in the first paragraph let me give this analysis. Imagine you're a coach and you presently have 4 strikers of which of course you may have identified one or two you believe can't help you achieve your aim, what do you do? Do you let everyone remain and buy a fifth striker that can fit into your plans? Or you sell one or two to create space for the one you are buying? Am sure you also know there is a limit to the number of players you can register in a season? Keeping players you know you have no plans of playing on the bench is not fair to the player too. Mourinho does not buy to resell. No big club manager does that so I don't know where that is coming from. |

MrTA: Outside of Wenger ( and Ferguson) none of the big clubs have/had managers that get involved negotiating player transfer fees. These are done by Chief execs, Directors or Football, Technical directors etc. That's a very outdated definition. If you think Mourinho was responsbile negotiating transfer fees for Man utd,Chelsea or Real madrid then you definitely have no clue what's going on outside Arsenal. So maybe you should keep your head there and not comment on other clubs. Thank you jare. I even forgot about Woodward and his counterparts in other clubs. Most cases the manager identifies player/s that will help achieve its goals and the director of football does the transactions. |
