What exactly is going on in this country? Every day it is one Graphic picture or the other on Nairaland. Don't we have a basic respect for human life? Why should the bodies of the dead be displayed all over the net. What kind of country is this? In other countries, when fatal accidents occur, the first thing they do is cover up the dead, but in Nigeria people will whip out phones and start recording. Shameless country. 19 Likes 1 Share |

effty: http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Bash_Ali Regional and Minor Titles Won December 03, 1980, USBA Cruiserweight Title June 19, 1985, NABF Cruiserweight Title September 23, 1988, Nigerian Heavyweight Title February 23, 1990, WBC International Cruiserweight Title July 31, 1993, African Heavyweight Title September 11, 2000, WBF Cruiserweight Title From NigeriaSports.com August 08, 2004: Bash Ali has retained his World Boxing Federation cruiser weight after his opponent Tony Booth from Britain threw in the towel after just three rounds in their scheduled 12 round encounter at the indoor sports hall of the National stadium, Lagos. Although the fight ended in the 3rd round when Tony Booth's corner threw in the towel, they were later to explain that Tony had slipped in his hotel bathroom and injured his ankle on the morning of the fight, but that he had to go out and fight in order not to let the teeming boxing fans down. And the popular belief that the challenger was an unknown boxer and as such a push over, was however, easily wiped out in the first round as he stood and fought toe to toe with the Bash Ali and landing some solid punches sending packed hall cheering for more. |

dayleke: People have become so desensitized towards death and human life, not a good thing at all. In other countries, when fatal accidents occur, the first thing they do is cover up the dead, but in Nigeria people will whip out phones and start recording. Shameless country. Big prayer. Until we have good leadership, this country is going nowhere. 4 Likes |

The earlier they ban these Danfo buses the better. The poor girl only wanted to make a livelihood for herself. Living in Nigeria itself is a hazard, no value for human life, no prompt emergency service (but politicians are fast to run to London for the simplest of treatments). What a country. 3 Likes |

LordOfNaira: I personally don't give a hoot about any Nigerian president who is not doing what he should do and that applies to both Buhari and GEJ (neither do they care about anyone here), so my question still remains why was this man was assaulted? Whether people see Buhari as a demon or not is his personal business, if he does what's in the people's interest, they will support him - that's a general rule that applies all over the world to any leader. In any case, I am done with this discussion. I think I have made my point. |

Ijaya123: I am sure you read my first comment - my point was and still remains - why are people trying to justify this happening in 2017 because it happened in 2013. It was not right, it is still not right. Why is the issue of his assault not being addressed? Why is the focus the fact that it has happened in the past? Why? |

obailala: You guys don't seem to get it. A man was assaulted, a man who has represented this country before. Whoever did it does not make it right. It is bad enough it happened in 2013, it is still happening in 2017 and the best we can come up with is debate which government was in power when he was assaulted? Just imagine the ridiculousness of that. It is despicable that a person who has represented this country has ever been assaulted and is still being assaulted. No wonder this country never seems to move forward. By the way, if I may add, there are things one can play politics with. THIS is not one of those things. 2 Likes |

GEJ's aides did it in 2013. Dalung's aides also did it in 2017. Does that make it right? Assault is assault regardless of whoever did it. I don't understand the reasoning in Nigeria these days. Abnormal things become okay as long as it's been done before. Nonsense. 39 Likes |
