*reconsidering*Christian girls seeking love and the Bible go together like a horse and carriage, you can't have one without the other. 1love lawyer: I think your question is going to derail this thread since it is more of a religion thread topic than an average romance thread topic. This question is extremely pregnant with so many interpretations both from the angles of christians, muslims and atheists and it is going to get very very ugly if allowed, so i will prefer you throw this topic open in the religion thread to see your desired response.
My only comment on this is that, you should stop seeing online dating as something strictly for christians or something God wouldnt approve. It has nothing and i repeat absolutely nothing to do with what faith you worship. Its just like saying when you meet a christian brother for dating, you will have to analyse whether there is an approved way of kissing that conforms with the bible or a prefered mode of having sex with your partner that conforms with the bible.
All these things are irrelevant. The main issue and keeping on topic is that people especially women who advertise on nairalist for dating are very courageous and should be applauded because it is something most women would be scared of or extremely shy to do and would do anything to make fun or humiliate those doing it meanwhile they secretly wish they had the balls to do like wise and would want to see how it turned out by monitoring the progress daily. |

I have to go so I'll answer l8r 1 love lawyer: Thanks for your posts; Anyway i have 1 or 2 observations and reservations about it:
Seun should separate the Christian dating service from the general dating service
a) I dont think people should generalise love and romance with religion. Its too sterotype for my liking. Personally i abhor topics or comments that tend to trivialize relationship and religion. Whats wrong in you dating a kind honest Muslim man that would turn out to be a responsible and respectable family man and would love you like there is no tomorrow? Why should i date a girl who proclaims to be a born again christian but is anything but born except a born fire at home all in the name of she is christian and God ordained it? It makes no sense to me. I know of many inter religious relationships and marriages that are waxing stronger by the day.
So there is no need for seun to separate christian dating from muslim dating to hindu dating just because the majority of nairalanders are christians. Its very very wrong and people should determine their love lives by their emotions and not through faith. I accept faith plays a major role in some people's choices and preferences but it shouldnt be generalised hence the need to keep the mode and manner of the dating classified free of tagging.
Tommorrow, we would start hearing we want hausa dating sites alone or Itsekiri lesbian dating sites alone. It makes no sense whatso ever. If you use that as a parametre, then you shouldn't be chatting and making online friends with muslims and atheists on nairaland and should just stick to the religious section alone to find your boo! |

~Sissy~: honey, u need to break loose! pple who met their partners online r no better or worse than those who met elsewhere. remember the devil himself also goes to church n sometimes he is the pastor himself and all those "church programs" u mentioned aren't safer neither and there are many christian online dating sites folks use to meet their partners. so i really dnt see the reason of all this fuss about online dating davidylan: And who told you that your partner will ONLY be found in a christian church program? Many of these "we met in church" relationships are no better than the "we met in a bar" relationship. Wherever you find your partner is wherever you find him/her. Points taken with respect. 1love |

@Poster
Thanks for bringing this up. When I saw the first Ad yesterday, I smiled and thought about starting a topic. When I saw the second Ad, three things came to mind
1) Seun should separate the Christian dating service from the general dating service 2) Should Christian use forum (on-line dating services) to find boyfriend/husband 3) are these ladies seeking partners their way (because they think their biological clocks are ticking) or God’s way (depend on God to meet someone)?
Even though the Bible doesn’t tell us exactly how to date, personally I feel uneasy when I see Christians trying to find partners on line. I guess because where I come from, our teaching on finding a partner (if you can’t find one in your church) is to visit other churches, conventions, church rallies, programs, Christian plays etc. there was never an option about on-line dating.
Hope they find what they are looking and that they be very very careful
brw, it's best topic i've seen in this section for a long time.
