Terrorism Suspect Had Privileged Upbringing. The man accused of trying to blow up Flight 253 came from an elite family and attended top schools. But he wanted something else http://www.sphere.com/nc/article/bomb-suspect-from-elite-family-schools/19295067?icid=main After reading this article, I have to ask:- Are parents doing enough to protect their children from peer pressure? How do parents know that the advices their friends give will be in line with theirs. Should parents be held responsible for their children's behaviour? I'd like to hear your views |
Did you know. . . . . . that today is the Festival of Fools? In Spain and Latin America, the Feast of the Holy Innocents is celebrated much like April Fool's Day in the U.S. They play pranks on other people and try to fool them. ~~~ Today's Inspirational Quote: "Dreams are renewable. No matter what our age or condition, there are still untapped possibilities within us and new beauty waiting to be born." -- Dr. Dale Turner |

Cut Costs to the Bone -- Save Money On Seasonings There's saving money on your grocery bill and then there's saving money on your grocery bill. You know what I mean. There are different levels when it comes to saving money. What is frugal to one family is a drop in the bucket to the next. If you're ready to take saving money to the next level and would like to save money on groceries, you need to learn how to save money on seasonings. Save money on seasonings Okay, it doesn't sound like much and you may be thinking it wouldn't be worth your time, but let me tell you -- it adds up. When you're already following all the usual tips on saving money at the grocery store and you suddenly find yourself needing to save even more, here's one way you can do it. If you're trying to save money on the meals you cook, and of course, I know you are, I bet you're using a lot of chicken and hamburger. Now, nothing is wrong with chicken and hamburger, but they can quickly become boring and bland. That's where your seasonings come into play. To spice up those plain-Jane meats, you need to spice them up. Doing this, however, can add up. A package of seasoning doesn't appear to cost a great deal of money, but break the cost down and you'll be shocked to see how much you are actually paying. Here's a clue -- pound for pound, it's as expensive as steak. To drastically slash these prices, you really need to begin making your own seasonings. For example, a package of McCormick Chili powder costs up to $2.39 while the same amount you can make yourself is $0.18. Pretty good, huh? So what kind of seasonings can you make? Here's a list to get you started. -- Chili Powder -- Chinese Five-Spice Powder -- Curry Powder -- Emeril's Essence -- Creole Seasoning -- Fajita Mix -- Garam Masala -- Italian Spice -- Jamaican Jerk -- Lawry's Seasoned Salt -- Lemon Pepper -- Mrs. Dash -- Mulling Spice -- Old Bay Seasoning -- Paul Prudhomme Seasoning -- Paula Deen's House Seasoning -- Poultry Seasoning -- Pumpkin Pie Spice -- Shake and Bake -- Taco Seasoning By searching the Internet, you can easily find recipes for all these seasonings. All you have to do is mix up your batches, store in airtight containers, label and you're ready to save money on seasonings big time. consumertip.com |

Was watching Afropop, a documentary on "The evolution of the Nigerian Movie Industry" This one hour documentary was dedicated to Cayce Lindie (I think that's the name) You know, after watching it, I now have utmost respect for the Nigerian movie industry. First, I didn't know that Nigeria is the third largest film production in the world. And all along I thought it was. I am not even going to write what I was thinking . . .right now, I am mad with myself. This guy Izu was saying that it's not easy making a movie in Nigeria and at one time he resorted in begging. He said in Nigeria, you don't always have power. Here in Amerika, movie stars can demand certain things and they can get away with "murder" because of their status. Izu, a film director, yet he didn't have the power to get proper food for his staff at a specific time. His cast (very understanding) had to eat Okpa or Okpa and Bread. They talked about Laviva, something about owing 300,000 Naira to laviva hotel, Liberians dying/civil war and something about a Liberian girl. Anyway, at the end, everything went well for the director and I think he won best director for laviva. I wish I can say more but some guests dropped by (jibber jibber) I was taken back by this documentary and Izu is a humble man. How do I get my hands on this Laviva Movie? Looks like you can't buy it on line ![]() I googled it and found a 4 mins of it on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7Hu1QOi0SQ |
