People do not understand that this is what it is all about.. Its called ride sharing and Nigerians turned it into a full time job and a do or die affair which is not our fault but the bad leadership we have always had.

Having a technical skill is actually underrated in this part of the world but look at the way things are with people that have an option GAZZUZZ for example just jumped on the fence and is sitting there comfortably because of his skill and sweet mouth which I envy sef (No offense sir) but you are probably the best example in this situation because most people here probably know you or have heard about you one way or the other..
Do you know why he can always stand his ground and tell you NO or YES at any point in time?
He has an optio(Not very common skill) you can go back to his reason why he stopped driving in the first place lol.
He sells cars and has money to import oils, coolants, and now he has started selling refrigerating gas..
This man here has common sense and is actually thinking outside the box instead of complaints he is using the supply and demand chain to his advantage which makes me understand that he has western exposure..
Same goes for Dru23 and every time they make a comment you can see confidence and sincerity in all they say but most people will see them as proud but its not that way my people..
You mentioned something about emotions and I just had to lol it cause there is no emotion in business..
If you want to survive in the commerce world you have to be able to stand your ground and that is what the drivers complaining cannot do which makes me see the complains as unreasonable..
Let me take you guys back to a memory lane just this last December felt like it shouldn't end do you know why?
Demand was high and supply was relatively low..
I am a very Lazy driver and I own my car and also have an option but if December can continue I will be driving on a reg cause there was a day I had 25k net I cannot remember how much fuel but I was ready to drive all week sef but my Lazy ass does not even like driving I just do it cause money is meant to be made..
All in all we can all be sincere with ourselves and let us face what this thread is all about..
Let's make positive moves
Don't try to force anything on anybody..
If Jesusson wants to show his earnings let him share..
If you don't want to share yours its not a crime..
Let's start by having self respect and respecting each other..
They say little drops of water makes a mighty ocean and maybe if we start having a bit of unity from the very few reading this thread then something positive might come up on the long run..

PS this is just an opinion of mine and I also respect everyones opinion and perspectives cause life is all about diversification..
I hope we all have a great week ahead
Regards
I said bad mentions. It is a term in Marketing Communications (precisely PR)

You miss the part where they mentioned not making profit yet..
Also do not deceive yourself by feeling you put food on their table if you quit today someone else would be waiting to take up the Job like immediately because you don't have options in this shit hole which is why most of the complainers still wake up every morning and drive all day and night..
If they decide to quit and pack ehn
I don't even need to explain to you what will happen to all drivers and partners just think for yourself..

The main problem is being avoided..
I have not seen any of you mention having a protest against the greedy government that is causing the bad roads, unemployment, corruption no good health care and non functional infrastructures..

I feel we Africans are too delusional to tell ourselves the truth which is the main reason why we are where we are today..
Someone mentioned something about not leaving that complaining might bring up a solution, all I can say is you are just being delusional in all ramifications..
According to economics everything that is happening in the etaxi industry is very normal its called the power of demand, supply and price..
The higher the demand the lower the price and vice versa as long as supply is at a point of equilibrium, but right now there is high supply of the service and for demand to increase the price has to be reduced..
If truly you want things to go back to at least an average point sacrifices has to be made and this includes a lot of drivers quoting the job and doing something else which is logically impossible in this Shit hole we live in..
I do not like to argue actually but I just like being sincere with myself.
As it stands right now I can only tell you the latest slang I heard
*WE DIE HERE*
The day me as a person gets the chance to leave this country for a working economy I doubt if I am ever coming back cause this is a 3rd world Country..
You both are seeing things from different angles.
I guess you're a fellow Economist grin.
People have given up on this country, protests isn't gonna work. More than half of people doing Uber are using it as stop-gap until they find something better. People that complain here feel Uber may decide to work on their negative mentions to improve and also another reason for the rants is to share experience & testimonies wink
Maybe Naija is a 10th world country sef. I follow join people who may never come back to stay except things get better (na to come dey visit family & friends). I go come back after retirement sha grin

It wasn't a pleasant experience that morning. Left home when I had a request on Uber. Tire went flat just few metres from home so called rider to cancel. After fixing tire, I waited for almost an hour before the Taxify request entered. I didn't expect to spend up to 20mins to pickup.
When i got to pickup, the lady told me that many drivers had canceled on the way cos of the long pickup at different time & felt I might do same too. But because I had gone too far to turn back, I continued till I got there

Maybe he meant 15mins.
50mins is like ikeja to lekki
50 mins o. It was Isheri Oshun to Ijegun but went through Abaranje road did about 2km on that Abaranje road before I turned to an untarred road. I did over 5km altogether from my point to pickup and the road was really bad

Cooladex:
50 minutes pick up ? Nawao
Yea the road was bad plus I had to stop multiple times to ask bike/keke & people for directions as Google map didn't direct me through the rider's advised route until I was very close to the street (pickup). I even passed the junction I was meant to turn into and had to turn back. At a point, I felt the rider will cancel. I could not cancel cos I would have been total loss

I don't always do it unless the pickup is far. No vex
I can relate. There was a morning I got a request and called rider but she didn't pick and since I had a feeling the pickup was far and either of us would cancel, I swiped arrived with the mind of canceling (wait for 3mins & then cancel). But secs later the rider called and described the best route to her place which was even longer than what Google map displayed. I spent about 50mins to get to her. I almost cried. If not for the additional #400 added for waiting time, I for lose more

The recent temporary license does not carry pictures just licence number.. I am really worried now
What does the initial one look like? Is the new one an A4 paper-sized one?
You may need to put a passport on the new one & snap, I think it should work.

I'll always hope d best for you and hope u get my draft, honestly you have not done anything beyond the extra ordinary, all we are yawning for is a better regulatory system, what's so difficult in you seeing past disguise? You made 7k yesterday, pay owner 5k, what of fueling? Feeding? Thank God you are under 3%, imagine if it is under 25% shit would have been crazy... Now you have to go to your previous 3k to balance some certain factor yesterday... Its part of business I understand, but this front & back tug of war have eventuality involved in it.

For those saying quite, it obviously won't last forever.

Best of today senior driver turned newbie
Bros pls drop this issue. We don't have to see things from various points and understand what people are saying. Let everyone run his race. Let us all be HAPPY. smiley

That statement is false.
Nah...Bolt lite is actually cheaper @ N10/min compared to Uber @ N11/min. The charge per km is same @ N60/min. And you know most riders do Lite.

Yes sir. The car is in her compound as i type. I thought she would buy Corolla or Matrix, so i could scope her to allow me use it for Uber during weekends.
You could still scope her na. People use Civic alot for the business. The car is strong. Oga Dru23 can testify to that. I personally like the car too

Chief in the house, i hail una o. My Aunt just got this Honda Civic for 1.3m (Toks) for her personal use and i'd like to ask if its a good deal. Pressured her to get Toyota Corolla 2006 or Toyota Matrix but the dealer at Cotonou insisted on 1.7m last price for the two
She got good value for her money. Toyota isn't the only car manufacturer na wink

Bro there is no emotion or sentiments in business. If ogataxi want to go mainstream, they need to position themselves better and invest more. For now, they are just doing copy and paste. Uber invested heavily on promo, bonuses for drivers and riders, referral bonus etc. If ogataxi put in half the effort, they will get a large share of the market as well.
And people and naija govt buy innosson. Abi how else have they stayed in business for about four years now?
You are very right. It has nothing to do with people not wanting to patronise local companies like Dru is painting it, it is all about what they can offer. Even the international (multinational) Uber & Bolt are being run by 99% Nigerian staff. If Oga Taxi & others get the right mix of funds & marketing, they would give Uber & Bolt a mighty fight.

There are guys that pay 35k and still do repairs without any complain, I have them as friends. I have over 2 years experience... I wont post my earnings because the haters will come after me. I currently drive a Corolla 2006 30k delivery. My issue with my current partner is his attitude(rude abusive and negligence to repairs)I have NEVER defaulted his payment...
Good record...what he's saying is why asking to pay more (although you have a condition). Imagine the car spec is what you want, do you think it's wise that you are willing to pay the partner more than he's asking for?
In a business, it is said that one should minimize cost & maximize profit.

What could be wrong with my car?
I entered bad floods in the morning but there was no sign of an issue. After doing 2 flood-free trips, I bought fuel & parked at the filling station to wait for request. A request came after like 10 mins but car no gree work although it cracks. Mec asked me to put fuel in the injector, car started but went off immediately (did this twice & got same result). Mec said it must be a wiring issue, I've been waiting for rewire for about 30mins after I called him thanks to a passerby that gave me his contact.
Has anyone experienced this before? I need advice biko
NB - car is Nissan Almeria
