Bwanasaraw: Do your research. PENGASON and NUPENG were the most feared trade union in Nigeria back then. They even fought with Abacha and Babangida. Whenever they go on strike fuel scarcity bites hard and even flights are cancelled.
Obasanjo couldn't even privatise NITEL properly due to labour union issues. Licenses were given to MTN GLO Econet to start afresh.
Trade Union don't need to have shares in an organization for them to stop the sale. You must discuss their pay off before disengaging them Pay offs?so what about if the coy was functional?won't they migrate to the new owners? |

Goodluck Jonathan was able to sell NEPA with ease because the welfare of NEPA staffs were settled before it was Privatised. This is lobish talk.workers can not stop the sale of an establishment's they have no share in.. |

That’s what ambulance services (with trained paramedics) are for. No one in the west will expect a doctor to carry a patient out of a vehicle. That’s what porters are for. Put that your shoulder down before we cut all the feathers wey dey let you proud. Say “that’s why my reasoning is way different from yours”. airsaylongcome: A civilian doctor in a police medical facility is protected by the armed police personnel. Paramedics work in emergency. They bring patients to the Emergency unit of the hospital with a plethora of information. Vitals. Cause of accident. Possible suspected injuries and all. No Dr flies in blind into an emergency. I repeat, hard as it sounds, that Dr was in the right. That patient could have had a ton of diseases and health conditions that she was unaware of. Touch him and he dies and the next story is “FMC Dr kills accident patient”. Until the Nigerian system fixes itself, 1million times, she was right. Medicine and Healthcare is not charity. It’s a profession. None of them signed up to be killed. Their creed is to first do no harm.
PS: I am not a Dr. Not even a healthcare professional. But I completely support her protecting herself. Don't worry it will soon happen on your doorstep let's see what say you then. |

You want her to attend, bring the patient out of the vehicle. You lack exposure.ask yourself what services mak3s up the Emerg3ncy services?you as a medical persoel is exposed to all of those ills you mentioned. Even carrying the patient into the car could have caused damage that neither she or the good samaritan was aware off. A Dr's creed is to first do no harm. The people that put him in the car should have brought him out for her to make a proper evaluation. If he was brought in by paramedics, they would have had information to give her immediately on arrival. But brought in by someone with no medical training, she was right in being cautious. Bring the patient down and she will examine U must have petrol as blood.Has he not done enough for humanity by bringing these strangers to the hospital in his own car which he now has to go and deep clean cos of blood stains ?? The cardiologist that saved Erikson's life wasn't on duty, he was just a fan enjoying a football match with his family. He never waited for anyone on duty or blamed anyone for not being at their duty post. He saved a life.
Only in Nigeria do people like you excuse disgraceful behaviour. You rather engage in blame game than save a life. Exactly and these same people will go to the UK and act right .OP is full of brain dust. |

damilton: Previous thread: https://www.nairaland.com/8446358/nurse-refuses-treat-accident-victim
It is very important to know that not all females working in the hospital are nurses, likewise, not all males working in hospital are doctors. The recent incident that happened in Federal Medical Centre in Abuja shows a doctor who refuses to attend to an accident victim and from the video captured, it took more than 4 minutes before help came to the victim. I am not saying it is the duty of that dr to bring out the patient. Infact, it is not the duty of a doctor nor a nurse to bring out the patient.
There are people designated for that but this is Nigeria where right things goes wrong and wrong things goes right.
It is just sad that Nigerians in our myopic way of thinking are quick to point an accusing finger to Nurses if anything goes awry in the hospital forgetting that not all female you see in the hospital are Nurses. There was a post here, that tagged a Nurse as the culprit who refuses to assist the accident victim.
But the said person is not a nurse but a doctor. Her name and title is boldly written on her left chest. We need to know that everyone should be accountable for his or her actions. Everything, especially unfortunate circumstances doesn't boil down to Nurses who are been rate low in the health sector. Lobish, once you are a medical personal, you 1st duty is preservation of life at any cost. The role of Doctors is universal, so nothing different in Nigeria. If those persons die, that lady can be sued for coperate manslaughter. All she needed to do was get gloves, get a stretcher asked others there to give her a hand to get the victims to an area of help. If she was not meant to be in that area what is she doing in A and E then ? People are meant to work as a team in these places |

Transmission doesn't cost up to 3M tho. Don't flush that transmission rather do a drain and refill several times.
Replace Heat exchanger, drain oil, refill with something cheaper say Detron III from NNPC or Mobil, repeat till fluid changes colour, remember to drive and select gears, do not speed.
thanks for the heads up chief, well according to the cost over in the Uk, it will cost as much if not more for a new box, cos its moving parts, wont like to buy used ones cos of wear and tear. I have changed the Power steering pump. what a nightmare to install. I am changing the sump on the gear box,I have taken the under tray off and now faced with two sub frames, Im going to tacle that in the morning The heat xchanger will be done in the morning as well. I got the ZF fluid 7 ltre in all as a kit, when you say drain and refil with cheap stuff is that to get rid of old slugish fluid then refill with the real thing? As per shifting gears or was thinking I could do that with the pedals if I turn to the semi side of the gear ? that way I can do it in one place without moving the car? Smthing is wrong the NL I can seem to post or upload fotos |

Replace Heat exchanger with an original unit
Change the whole transmission will cost more than N3m boss. My car has 58k .miles. Don't you think I should try this 1st? Money wise I got the service part for £400 from Landrover including heat exchanger and ZF oil and sump pan with filter plus magnet..I'm just awaiting a helping hand d to come or look for a place with a flush. DeltaBachelor: Oga you lie a very big lie. How many prepaid metres are residential. How many are commercial ? You have got nothing. I have the stats with me. School yourself from your ignorance first talking about them rolling out 200 million metres and owning 7 businesses that exist only in your imagination . Making you dey use prepaid for your seven akara and puff puff shops spread across Nigeria. LOL.
What I expected you to say as most sensible people here have is to make the metres available on the open market but with a chip to unlock after purchasing and installing the metre which can be gotten from only PHCN alone. That way it can be regulated.
Businesd men can make money from the shipment, distribution and sales of the metre, while PHCN monitors it's usage through checks.
If you were even a bit sensible, you would know that one building can use a prepaid metre and then a personal metre ( gotten from the open market)can be installed to monitor what each flat/shop/apartment/house consumes to avoid cheating and to create equity and fairness. Thats what we do in our building. The metre is wired by a specialist and can't be altered or tampered with. The main source comes from PHCN. If they can give us that 7 million AND DISTRIBUTE IT EVENLY AND ACCORDINGLY, I still say this and I stand on it, no household will be on estimated billing anymore. 7 million is MORE THAN ENOUGH !!!!
Like I said earlier, use your brain. 200 million metres ko, 1.9 billion metres ni.
THIS WOULD BE MY LAST REPLY TO YOU. TAKE CARE !!!! I think you are talking from you back passage, What does all that gibbrish got to do with the subject matter I pointed your brain to the fact that non residential points that needs prepaid metres would consume up to nearly 40 percent of my stipulated figure you are here talking like you are drunk off new wine. if you make 7million meters available that would be consumed by the churches we have in Nigeria, if you add another 10 million that will be consumed by all the hair saloons we have in Nigeria. I happen to be privy to an info,Obi akpor LGA in rivers state has 300 members registered as owning salons .Howmany welding shops do you think need prepaid and mechanics or yout hink we need meters only for residential areas. Some Biz men and women here have up to 10 shops. In my yard in PH, I paid and acquired 5 meters, 4 for tenants 1 3phase for myself. SOme of you lot need brain reboot I swear down |

DeltaBachelor: Oga, I don’t know who to pity more, you or those people that liked your comment ?I am not a fan of Tinubu, but you saying at least 100 million metres needed shows how ignorant you are of what is actually needed. If population is estimated to be about 300 million (speculatively. Could be higher or lower than that. It was a little over 220 million as at 2023 ) and you say we need at least a 100 million metres thereby goes to show invariably that one out of three persons in Nigeria should have a prepaid metre. Do you get it now ? Do you think a metre is half bag of rice that can be shared to 300 million households in a ratio of 1:3 ? How many people own houses in Nigeria currently ? We have a population of say around 300 million and you want 200 million metres to be rolled out ? lol. Ignorance is all I see. For your info Oga, I have not researched on it, but Oga that 7 million metres should be more than enough if they can keep to their promise.
Out of the around 300 million citizens, I believe majority are either children or under the age of 18. Abi do you also want the government to give school children metres to take to school or what ? Make we dey try use our brains small abeg The problem with people like you and the other guy that quoted me is that you lot think you know it all but the reality on ground that you know jack shyte bout nothing and are released on this woke generation. You are here crunching figures and ridiculing yourself in public Let me school you a bit,Does anyone live in ALl the International markets we have in NIgeria? Let me school you further since una brain wet All the shops in your street do people live in them? wont they have metres? All the schools in the country wont they have their own meters? All Business and public places wont they have their own meters? All religious places from church to Mosque nko? How about the Hospitals in Nigeria? Erm Hotels and apartments? As I speak I have up to 7 mtres cos our Biz spread across 7 location in PH and how about spares and ongoing new projects Look young man go drink water and bring a good argument instead of embarrassing yourselves in name of trying to sound smart or intelligent of which you no where near! so do me a favour PITY YORSELF |
