higgs: I am really embarrassed by what Nafdac has become. If truly the 700,000 naira payment is fine for storing drugs under poor conditions, the question then is:Do those who have paid and been allowed to open their shops now store drugs properly? Or are they permitted to store drugs anyhow as long as they pay Nafdac? May all the work Dora Akunyili and her team did not be in vain.
alizma: Go and check the Gazette first to avoid wrong contribution. What we should be talking now is whether all those who were made to pay the money are guilty of keeping and selling prohibited drugs or substandard drugs, secondly the NAFDAC should be open on how many people have made these payments.
Hope you know they said 7m initially? and Hope you also know the original reason they closed the shops? FAKE drugs, so all of a sudden no more fakes right ?
ERockson: Good one from NAFDAC. I think VDM really wanted NAFDAC to perpetually close these shops. If they have to charge them court according to VDM, a lot of Anambra business men will go to jail for it.
lexy2014: Tinubu, shettima, federal legislators, state governors, state legislators, tinubus ministers like Wike, senior military and security chiefs all enjoy free feeding at home and abroad, free transportation at home and abroad, free fuel, free security at home and abroad, free phone calls at home and abroad, free accommodation at home and abroad, free medicare at home and abroad, free electricity at home and abroad, free clothing at home and abroad, free newspapers, free internet at home and abroad, free dstv for themselves and their families.
this is apart from estacodes and money they steal.
why is it ok for them enjoy freebies at exorbitant costs but its a crime for an ordinary nigerian like you to enjoy freebies?
how much is your monthly salary?
Thank you and you can hear some humans here applauding this evil.
opesyseng: Good move Why occupy a land you aren’t willing to pay for. The president is simply saying pay your rent if you’re still interested in the property
Are you sure you know what this rent is all about?
I told people on here, Subsidy will linger till da kingdom comes, they argued. Now its all coming out. The powers that may be will never allow the refineries to work NEVER.
OneCandleAway: But he can't actively treat APC members the way he treats PDP. And his goal is the VP slot. How does he intend to go about it. He is weakening PDP to the point that it won't be a strong party by 2031.
1. Since after the 2023 General election, the PDP has been wantonly swinging from one part of a slippery precipice to another, owing fundamentally to dishonesty and lack of trust amongst its key stakeholders.
To stem this ugly trend, efforts have been made to arrest this pernicious virus of dishonesty and treachery and enthrone fidelity to agreements with a view to stabilizing the party and moving it forward.
2. To this end, a meeting of the G5 was held in Lagos. In that meeting, I made it clear to the Governor of Oyo State, HE. Seyi Makinde, that he was the architect of our problems, pointing out to him that non-adherence to agreements reached was the bane of the party, and that he was the chief culprit of this anomaly.
At the end of the meeting, we resolved to bury the hatchet and make progress.
3. As a follow-up to the aforementioned meeting, there was an expanded meeting in Abuja involving HE. Seyi Makinde, HE. Umaru Fintri, HE. Bala Mohammed, HE, Bukola Saraki, and I in Saraki’s guest house.
In that meeting, I made it clear that I had no personal problems with HE. Bala Mohammed, except that he hides under the facade of Chairman of PDP Governors Forum to serially renege on agreements. Tensions rose mightily in the meeting and it took all concerned to calm frayed nerves.
At the end of the meeting, we came to some resolutions, including: a. That Senator Samuel Anyanwu remains the National Secretary of the PDP in tandem with the Supreme Court judgement. b. All legal matters relating to Rivers State must be withdrawn by the National Legal Adviser. c. The suit on the State of emergency be withdrawn forthwith. d. Nobody should deviate from the agreements so reached.
In the light of the foregoing, they pleaded with me to attend the stakeholders’ meeting at the Bauchi Government Lodge, regardless of my many engagements.
I attended the meeting and clearly reiterated my earlier concerns, and to this end and in order to resolve all other lingering and pending issues, a committee was formed, headed by HE. Bukola Saraki.
4. It is disheartening to note that even before the Bukola Saraki Reconciliation Committee began its work, the gentleman’s agreement we reached at Saraki’s Guest House was already being crudely violated.
To my chagrin, Seyi Makinde had connived with Peter Mba of Enugu State to orchestrate the summoning of the meeting of so-called South-East leaders to recommend that if Ude Okoye was not adopted as Secretary, they would pull out of the PDP.
I have since granted an interview to the effect that, that resolution of the South-East leaders can not hold.
Again, Seyi Makinde organized some people in the National Secretariat to insist that the Deputy National Secretary should act as National Secretary, in violation of the agreement earlier reached.
To attempt to give credence to this farce, a letter was written by the Deputy National Secretary, calling for a meeting of the NEC of the party.
Furthermore, the letter confirming the candidacy of the Governorship candidate of the party in the forthcoming Governorship elections in Anambra State, duly signed by the National Secretary, Senator Anyanwu and the acting National Chairman, was portrayed as rejected by the party through a rebuttal letter signed by the National Publicity Secretary, acting on the orders of Seyi Makinde and Peter Mba.
All these actions are in complete violation of the agreements reached and would not do the party any good whatsoever. On the 24th of May 2025, in Jos, for instance, a well publicized and properly attended zonal elective congress of the PDP was aborted because the letter inviting INEC to the congress was signed by the Deputy National Secretary of the party.
INEC refused to attend because the proper signatory recognized by law, that is Senator Samuel Anyanwu was not a signatory to the invitation notice. This is undeniably distasteful, provocative and annoying, to say the least.
5. I have painstakingly put out all these facts so that PDP members and the general public would know the truth. I have been in this party since 1998 and have worked tirelessly for the survival of this party with all my strength and it is on record that none of these persons have done anything close to what I have done to sustain this party.
What is more painful is that I contributed substantially to most of these governors winning their elections, yet I have not made any personal demands on any of them and I would never do so.
Most importantly, I had thought that we could keep the trust amongst us, but since it is now obvious that they would continue to play games to the detriment of the party, as is the case in the current debacle in the North-Central zonal elections, I have now firmly decided to pull out of all agreements hitherto reached.
I have decided to fight on until justice is attained.
Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON Minister, Federal Capital Territory May 25, 2025
The reason for this write up is simple, they are all now potting to APC, so Sir your enemy is getting fewer in paper but in reality very soon APC wont need you to fight anyone as they are now all i n APC
dapotemi: Pls I'll appreciate your input here. I have gotten to the soakaway stage in my bungalow. I have very limited space. It's half plot (100 by 25), and I was able to squeeze a two bedroom flat and two mini flat on it as a single unit. The problem now is, the only space remaining in front is where d soakaway will be and aside from the conventional soakaway, which other option do I have.. I won't consider Biodigester because this is a rental property. Tenant hardly follow rules. The remaining space can manage two small car. The car will be parked ON d soakaway always and this bothers me. My dad's soakaway just went down on its own last year after 9 years and car is not even allow on it. Someone is advising I consider the ring soakaway due to space. Is there any disadvantage to this ring's own..My land is not very hard, tho not swampy..its just in d middle. What other options do I have? Appreciate any response
Use solid materials to build your soakaway and it will be safe for cars to pack on top of it, I did same at mine
badaru911: ... These are men who not only use their resources but also supported by their government... Not like here when the director of a technological and engineering agency was defending her spent budget saying they spent billions of naira into creating a power bank,, The Senate committee were shocked on hearing it..
Cyberknight: Might sound cliched, but the whole reason why I embarked upon emigration was to secure for the children some of the things I've been able to have, which came to me, an ordinary member of the now-decimated Nigerian middle class, at great cost and effort.
I've been blessed, I've been able to travel widely, I've worked internationally, earned some change, meet lots of wonderful people in various countries, generally had quite a good life by the standards of the place I left. I certainly want my children to have those opportunities (even if they decide not to avail of them) and unfortunately I don't think that Nigeria as it currently is and as I sadly think it will be in the immediate future (even though I desperately wish to be proven wrong) will be able to provide those opportunities for any appreciable segment of its population. Exactly my though, once you get the passport, you can go back to 9ja, if it does not favour you then you port back to the Uk or anywhere else, nowadays people do not realize that N100m is not money anymore as You can realy secure your future and that of your family with N300m sef
dannytoe: I have said it before that it's better to get the passport before talking about leaving the country for uncertainty because of immigration change, except the new country offers pr on arrival.
Lol, yes some nigerians spent alot coming to the Uk. Especially those that came on student visas without dependent from 2022 till now. But i can tell you many that came 2020-2022 with dependents spent a fraction of what people have to spending today to come to the Uk. Many came here with dependent that worked and paid all their tuition. Today you can't do any of these anymore, all these route have been closed. i know someone who didn't spend more than 3m relocating to the Uk in 2023 via the care route. So if such a person get investments back home and manage to save enough. You think they can't come back because you assume everyone who relocated to the UK spent close to 50m doing so??
I dont think you are understanding the situation, Do you think Naira has value? imagine 1 pound is 2170.Look once you taste the standard of life in the Uk you will need at least N400 to N500 M to call money, now do the maths
dannytoe: You will suprised that some nigerians don't care about that. As far they're able to gather enough savings with viable investments back home, They gladly come back.
Then you do not need to leave Nigeria if that's all what you want as no poor person can leave Nigeria, You got to be rich to leave Nigeria. That narrative you gave was true some years ago, not now. You deny your kids the chance of holding a foreign passport. Those passport are priceless.
In March, I noticed a leak in my EOD steering pump. I temporarily managed it by topping up the fluid and applying glue with the help of my mechanic. I continued driving the vehicle until the end of April, topping up the oil roughly every two weeks.
Eventually, I replaced the long hose and fixed the leaks around the pump. However, since the replacement, I’ve been experiencing a persistent noise, especially loud in the mornings.
My mechanic advised that I change the steering fluid and recommended using Mobil engine oil, which I declined. Instead, I replaced the fluid with ABRO power steering fluid, but the noise has continued.
Please, what can I do to eliminate this noise? It’s more noticeable when the engine is cold in the morning
Offpoint1: For the love of me, I don't see why relocating from your home land to a foreign land a success.
We are screwed up mentally as people, thanks to useless African leaders.
Imagine people making relocation to foreign land a prayer point, an ambition or dream... That's how fxxkedup we are as people.
Why not, this sounds ignorant sorry to say, people move back and fort for various reasons, just cos it does not tally with your school of thought does not mean people are screwed mentally, Take the English, Portuguese and Spanish, to get where they are, they travelled abroad to make money then went back and invest it in their country majority of them came to Africa in their boats. And what about the British that went to Australia ?
A heated moment unfolded at the Egunegun Festival in Ibadan, as a bodyguard and police officers clashed over access to a restricted area. Was the bodyguard simply doing his job, or did he go too far by defying the police? Watch this viral encounter and drop your thoughts in the comments below.
He was doing his JOB, If that area was for everyone there would be police instead of bodyguards. The police needed a pass from the organisers prior the day
dannytoe: That's very true. I'm not saying people should start packing their bags and go back to Nigeria. It's just that there's a significant pool of Nigerians in the UK that don't even wanna hear or entertain the idea of even a visit back home talkless of possible relocation. Because the truth is, until you get your British passport. Don't be too far from home (last resort) because this people can switch immigration policy like change-over.
You are likely fail if you do decide to return to Nigeria without a British passport, n that is open to debate, but what's the point? Why would you want to return to Nigeria and start applying for visa to places like France US and Canada
Glimpsetv: A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to express her concerns about the changing attitudes of men in today’s society. According to her, there was a time when, if you went to a restaurant to buy food, a man would approach and offer to pay for everything.
She added that back then, even men who didn’t know you at all would walk up to you at a shopping mall, offer to shop for you, and even carry your basket around the store. But nowadays, she says, men no longer do such things — instead, they simply wait for you outside.
She also recalled how, in the past, men would often stop their cars to offer women a lift upon seeing them by the roadside. But today, she claims, such gestures of kindness have become rare.
She went on to lament how much things have changed in the country, reminiscing about 10 to 12 years ago when men were more willing to help women and showed genuine care.
Watch the full video to hear her heartfelt thoughts and personal experiences on this shift in male behavior.
Blame the Internet, its easier to get a girl now than B4, so men do not stress themselves, gone are the days when a girl will just look good as a Job, to earn money, now you need to get a real job to be looked at.Also some guys do not even look at girls who do not own thier own car/s
dannytoe: Lol, most other countries are already preparing or begining to reconsider the idea of tightening their immigration polices following trump and the recent UK immigration policy change. For example Canada's newly appointed immigration minister has proposed to cut annual immigration by 33% till 2027. The United state is a no go area for many. For example unlike the uk where a skilled worker is entitled to ILR in 5yrs or 10yrs. In the US if you like spend 20yrs on H1b is doesn't lead to green card or Permanent resident. Except an employer file for you, which is reserved for highly skilled professionals like nurses, doctors and IT professionals. Even with employment based EB-3 petition there's an annual cap of 140k green card and waiting time takes around 2-4yrs and 2-3yrs by marriage. Unlike the UK were 1yr after ILR you can apply for your British passport. In the US you can only apply for an American passport after 5yrs on green card. The only good thing about a US work visa is that your kids born in the US get automatic citizenship which UK doesn't offer. However the new orange man in the white house is working relentlessly to stop this.
Also, just recently the Australia media is beginning to put pressure on the reelected pro-immigration labour government to imitate the UK recent immigration policy change. They even go as far as referencing Nigel farage na that one dey shock me, imagine farage name constantly being cited in the Australia media as a true patriotic nationalist that could force stammer to do the needful before the Uk become an island of strangers . Spontaneously the labour government there might take a script from stammer's playbook. After all being liberal doesn't stop you from throwing in some right-wing cookies if it's just to please the public. Because for politicians whether right wing or left, public sentiment is supreme if you wanna stay long on that seat.
So last last jumping from one country to another may not cut it for some people especially those who have invested alot in the UK already. The best thing like someone has suggested before, is to consider investment in Nigeria and nurse the idea of a possible return back home in the future.
Returning back is not easy, it takes time and planning, it might take some up to 20 years to finalize that plan cos once you attain these high standard of living in the west, its way more expensive in Nigeria to replicate such levels. Also so me people have lost contact with those the left back home and might fail to accommodate the new reality which more often is harsh.as for me, I see myself as working in the UK and Living in Nigeria
Lovelytyme: On the 9th Thursday,April 2025 when I was just washing my clothes outside and jejeli minding my business, that something remarkable happened. Before I go into detail of what happened, it should be understood that where I reside is a very well civilized environment so I don't expect such occurrence to arise A large bird from nowhere entered into the passage of my house. It was as though the bird was chased by something. I never waited as i took hold of the mop I saw around to pin it down to avoid it from flying away. I searched the whole house for whatever I could use to cage it. Actually, I noticed the bird was unique and that was why I decided to keep it. At last I was able to find a breakable plate racket whereby I quickly emptied the plates so that I could keep the bird safe in there. I succeeded and right now I can successfully celebrate the eighth day with my African grey parrot. It has started talking self. Our love for each other has no bound. Thanks for coming into my life from nowhere.
This just shows that you need to start living the kind of life you will live when you become a citizen because becoming a citizen may not change much.
Exactly, cos if fit happen say you make an innocent donation and the charity you donate to is termed to be on the wrong side by friends of Uk, wahala pro max.
justwise: If your citizenship was not obtained through fraud and you are not a threat to national security..can you tell me how your citizenship will be taken away from you?
What you said is what my initial statement was meant to reiterate .Read it again. I said there is nothing like absolute right to live in the Uk cos it could be taken away under certain circumstances ie threat to society as mentioned by you. I am struggling to understand why this is being responded to in this fashion.
olaolaking: But you will rubbish the government if Doctors in Nigeria share apartments to save costs
Nop I wont, as it stands, I know Doctors who share apartment in ABJ and Ikoyi Experts from Abroad are in Nigeria and they too share apartment in PH, Some are in my house in PH. On the road to success, one have to live by their means until they are comffy enough to go large.
Goke7: Ignorance is the issue, am sure those who are thinking 10 years is not an issue are not aware of recent changes to sponsorship by employers
1. Cost of assigning a COS is now over £500 from 299 and this is now in force
2. In the white paper just released the cost of immigration skills charge paid by employers to sponsor any worker will now go up by 32% currently it’s £1000 per year so sponsoring a worker for 5 years is £5000 now that will go up by 32%
3. In the white paper too for any employer to sponsor they must show evidence of investment and training of citizens before they can be approved to sponsor and that’s where the home office will be waiting to deny employers to assign COS.
So going forward it will be more difficult for employers to sponsor and that’s where the catch of this new proposed policy is to ensure not many will make it to the finish line of 10 years and let’s be real how many employers with all the cost implications will be ready to sponsor for a whopping 10 years and how easy will it be to get new employers to switch sponsorship so those saying they are willing to work for 10 years am not sure they understand this new policy thoroughly perhaps they need to go and study that white paper before they go open their wide mouth like that Tanimu guy 😂
Even an increase of 2 years is a waste of time I swear down
On that pay one can save £1k or even more depends on how you package yourself.
