DSS do this all the time, arrest people and hold them for years without charge. There was a case last year where the DSS stormed a guys house, arrested him and bundled him away. The family actually thought it was kidnappers and waited for ransom. After 2 years of of not hearing from the guy, the family did burial for him believing that the kidnappers had killed him, only to find out later that the guy was in DSS custody Abuja all along. After three years, the DSS just released the guy like that, no charge, no explanation. To this day, the guy does not know what he did wrong

I'm not a fan of boarding schools. If you have kids, especially hyper active ones, you'll understand how difficult it is monitoring kids. The house master's job is worse because of the number of students they oversee. So the school deleg8's authority 2 house prefects who might abuse d position. That aside, it's not possible to monitor STUDENT'S 247. That's why i'll always admonish parents to patronise day schools if they can spare the time. No one can value and care for your child the way you could.

Not really. They were well to do. Way better than my parents at the least. There's an economic theory which states that the poor spend a larger percentage of their income on consumer goods (e.g food) than the rich. The poor love food more than the rich.

I got myself in trouble when I went to live with my aunt briefly after secondary school. First morning breakfast they said we were having bread and tea. I wanted to be modest so I managed half the loaf. Imagine my shock when I was scolded and told that the bread was meant for the entire household (5 persons)!
