Christianity EtcRe: What Christians Did For Muslims In Kaduna State by Eronmosele(m): 10:13pm On Jan 22, 2016
TeamSimple:
Who told you I dont believe in Jesus?
If I don't then am not a muslim. If you believe in the Quran asking us to read the gospel (not bible),then why not also believe in the oneness of Allah?

I cnt start pointing out verses where motions of violence was stated in the bible because your mind is made up already.

NB: If it remain a second for me to see the light you are inviting me too,i pray Allah subhana watahala take my life (AMIN) stick to your Religion and I will stick to mine. We should all answer to the 'GOd' we served on earth on judgement day.

Pls let end it here.
Your comment is very mature. I like it. When some other muslims comment, you just know that if they were in the same room as you they would have beheaded you by now! However if you know how many Muslim converts to Christianity I know and the alarming rate these conversions are happening all over the world, you will not seal your fate the way you have just done. I don't blame you, that's the only way you have ever known. And unfortunately you are shielded from ever thinking deeply about some of these core issues. It's the same way you would have been passionate about Christianity had you been born in a Christian family. Don't seal your fate.

I haven't told any lies. I agree with you, a lot of foul stories are found in the quran and especially the hadiths even the sahih hadiths.
The jihad, wars, beheadings, wife beating, pedophilia, slavery, forced marriages, rapes of war captives etc. This have to be discussed and not hidden. The more we discuss these things the better.
U can't ban me so relax and get urself educated on Islam.
You seem quite knowledgeable about Islam! Do you know the Koran also teaches that prophet Isa who they say is Jesus, was the only prophet without sin? So I'm thinking, is it human to be without sin? There is more to this prophet Isa O. I will follow Prophet Isa so that I might learn of him how to live such a life!

Really nice guesture by Christians.
However there is something very wrong with this statement.

Christians and muslims don't worship the same God. That's blasphemy..

Modified:

Some muslims have asked me to prove that Christians and muslims do not worship the same God.

Well to start with Christians believe in a triune God, 3 persons in one God, God the father, son and spirit.
A God who can manifest his word in his own creation to offer mankind salvation.

A God who says we should pray for our enemies and not wage defensive or offensive jihad. A God who commands us to love our neighbors be them igbo, hausa, yoruba , Hindu, Jew . A God who says we should forgive those that offend us and not Retaliation as thought by allah.
A God who calls us his children and not his Slaves as allah calls muslims. IsLamic allah is a father to No one.

I won't quote bible and quran passages to highlight the dichotomy of the 2 "religions". I would raTher focus on characteristics of their prophets.

Mohammed raped war captives and gave his followers the permission to do the same.
Never happened with OLd testament prophets and Jesus would condemn this. Mohammed is an Islamic "prophet" and not from the God of the Christians and Jews.

Mohammed approved of nitkah mutah, temporary marriage aka prostitution.
Never happened with OLd testament prophets and Jesus would condemn this. Mohammed is an Islamic "prophet" and not from the God of the Christians and Jews.

Mohammed married baby aisha at 6 and had sex with her at age 9.

Mohammed coveted other peoples wivies sometimes after killing them.

Mohammed claims allah lives directly above the kabba and hence muslims must pray in its direction.
Never claimed by OLd testament prophets and Jesus would condemn this. Mohammed is an Islamic "prophet" and not from the God of the Christians and Jews.

Mohammed retained Hindu cleansing and circling of the kabba ritual while wearing white.Never happened with OLd testament prophets and Jesus would condemn this. Mohammed is an Islamic "prophet" and not from the God of the Christians and Jews.

Mohammed made his adopted son divorce his wife and then married her for himself and had sex with her.

Mohammed banned adoption and says allah does not recognize it, after he was confronted with his marriage to his son's ex wife.
Never happened with OLd testament prophets and Jesus would condemn this. Mohammed is an Islamic "prophet" and not from the God of the Christians and Jews.

.Mohammed called for the killing of those that did not convert to Islam or pay a jizyah tax to stay alive.
Never happened with OLd testament prophets and Jesus would condemn this. Mohammed is an Islamic "prophet" and not from the God of the Christians and Jews.

Mohammed claimed he could perform NO miracles, and the quran is his only miracle. All OLd testament prophets performed some kind of miracle or gave prophecies. Mohammed is an Islamic "prophet" and not from the God of the Christians and Jews.

mohammed captured, had sex with and sold slaves.
Never happened with OLd testament prophets and Jesus would condemn this. Mohammed is an Islamic "prophet" and not from the God of the Christians and Jews.

I could go on and on but I have things to do.
I often marvel when I hear people say things like this! Well it's just for the sake of peaceful coexistence otherwise any true Christian would know that we are not worshiping the same God. I once had this friend who held the view that Christians and Muslims worshipped the same God. But later on, I understood his confusion. His father was Muslim and his mother Christian so he, though a Christian found his peace by believing a lie.
FoodRe: The Rat Guys Killed And Ate At Garki Abuja (Photos) by Eronmosele(m): 6:10pm On Jan 22, 2016
supersun1:
Few minutes ago, While drinking water before I left a garden somewhere in Garki Abuja‎ where I just had lunch. I saw 3 young men holding a huge live rat they just caught in the garden. Out of curiosity, I asked them if they were aware of Lassa fever and to my greatest surprise they knew nothing of such. From a distance, I watched them slaughter the rat, smoke it and proceeded into the kitchen where the food I ate came from.
This is a clear evidence that the publicity and enlightenment campaign given to the disease is below sufficient. I'm starting to believe what a caller on radio said some days back; that unlike Ebola, the poor are more vulnerable to Lassa fever hence the government won't give it adequate attention.‎

Meanwhile, I just had lunch in this garden, and starting to get worried if I may have contacted the disease, and I'm picking up my daughter from school in another 2 hours. Please guys can one get tested for Lassa fever like you get tested for HIVhuh

Lalasticlala please ask your doctor friends in the house to respond!!! If possible Front Page this!!!

Photos of the Rat and it's captors are attached.
The mastomys rat which harbours the virus that causes lassa fever is a much smaller rat than that one. It is a rat with about 12 rows of nipples on either side of the abdomen stretching between the front and back legs. It's only the mastomys species that harbour the virus. The picture I have attached is a good specimen of the rat showing the mammary glands and giving an idea of its size. Test for the lassa virus is cumbersome and only VERY few labs (last time I checked only three) run the definitive test in Nigeria which is unlike the case with HIV.

I want my dear nairalanders in the house to please advice me on the implication of this pay level to ur success in getting ur desired job
Am I missing something here? It should depend on what position you are applying for now? You are paid based on the perceived value you are bringing to the company. So 50k is both good and bad.
It would be better if you gave a description of what you actually applied for.

Obviously, this writer lost the plot with this is meaningless missive when he tries to con his readers by appealing to sentiments.

He said Adeboye prophesied that Boko Haram and ISIS will be considerably weakened, this can be verified easily by studying the modu operandi of these guys, which an independent verifier will agree. Does Boko Haram and ISIS still hold as much territories like before?. No.

He ranted about Adeboye's fuel less driving, this shouldn't elicit any controversy because all through history, God has shown Himself in diverse ways and means by doing anything at anytime for whosoever He wished.

I guess he should be asking Adeboye how a boy from the backwaters of Ifewara could become one of the most influential persons in the Universe

On the fund raising debacle, I still wonder, how he had expected Adeboye to have raised the funds, when he gave opportunity to everyone to come in at his or her level. Adeboye called from 1 billion to 100 Naira but because this fellow cocooned in his 2 by 2 studio flat in middle of a nowhere borough in the UK could not imagine that there are people in Nigeria that can give millions of Naira to God's work without battling an eyelid

I am happy to inform these our perennial naysayers that the Project has been built and dedicated to the Glory of God
You waste your time to speak to a person who from the start of his article reveals his godless attitude. And to compound matters he lives in a country that is increasingly godless and is of a profession that tends to have lots of faithless individuals. That know- it - all attitude and pride is usually a big issue. I don't think it's impossible for God who can raise the dead to have a car to travel without petrol. The sarcasm in his article is as nauseating as it is irritating.

Aboto49, thank you for taking out time to respond. Please know that no question is ridiculous. And no one is ridiculous for asking a question. You need to be careful yourself, I can already see those 'signs' in the way you have responded to a simple question. Indeed I have met persons I can describe as excellent by my classification who are Muslims. Excellent moral standing and I think the president is one of such persons I hold in high esteem. I was born and brought up in the core north, Zazzau to be precise and I know a lot about these things. The problem is you never know when some of these Muslims with excellent moral standing turn around to behead you when the need arises! I'm telling you what happened not some story here. And if it's about verses from the Holy book I can cite many more that say otherwise. I'm expressing a fear and concern of the vast majority of non Muslims. It's like walking on a field with land mines! You don't know what you will say before they will declare your head wanted! What kind of thing is this now?!! People who did not even know Charle Hebdoo died for his 'sin' here in Africa. And these instances are countless. So go and think again about the rationality behind my question.

pls what's d name of the church? Am in Abuja also n will be interested in knowing such a church
I feel you Jubilee2000. But you know this is hardly the forum to discuss these issues. This church collects only one offering on most Sundays and does not collect offerings during week days programmes. Since I started attending this church in 2011, they have NEVER preached about money or tithes or all that. The only Sundays in a year I remember them calling for an extra offering was to support clearly identified church MISSIONARIES and pastors family support, once a year! It's not a 'perfect' assembly, if there is any such thing, they don't spend money on glamor: state of the art air conditioning or all that. It's a church older than most churches in Nigeria, it's a church you would find in Sambisa and on the dreaded Hills of Taraba where you still find people walking about naked.

It depends on what bad behavior is to you. Take for example polygamy. It is taught by Islam but abhorred by Christianity. Your definition of having good and bad people around us as a broad classification makes sense to me. But we must come to that point where we truly define what a secular society is. Everytime I hear prayers said in public functions like the Senate I realise we have a very long way to go. Why can we make prayer and religion a matter of personal conviction and commitment? Is it compulsory to pray in public functions before and after meetings? For goodness sake! The next issue would be who should pray first or who prayed last and all that nonsense.

Actually a lot of scholars who condemn and refute the extremists and terrorists confirm that the Hijab is compulsory
So if terrorists employ the Hijab, it is does not mean that it the same mindset. Terrorists will do anything that will aid their bloodlust
Note that terrorists have been known to hide messages in x-rated videos

Muslim women wear Hijab everyday, everytime and everywhere. Why do you think they are so devoted to something that is not convenient?
People ask for temporary suspension of Hijab without considering how the ladies feel about it
How do you feel about temporary suspension of prayers, obedience to God

The credibility problem that the anti-Hijab advocates have is that well before the issue of terrorism, they have been angling for its ban
Okere-Onyiuke moved to ban it on the Lagos floor of the Nig Stock exchange when she was DG, although you could wear baba n Riga and Hijab on the Kano floor of the same Exchange

Lagos public schools say you cannot use Hijab but the same schools organise Christmas carols
Thank you for your response. You have attempted to help me see things is a broader light. Do you know that the ban on prayers is in effect in Islamic countries against Christians? You will be killed if you are caught. So I think Christians in those countries can even relate more to your analogy.
About terrorists being able to use any means possible to carry out their nefarious activities, I totally agree with you. Did you know that by 2015, over 90% of terrorism related activity was linked to Islamic extremism? Hence the hijab is a convenient instrument because it is an Islamic injunction? Now for someone standing outside the box, free of any bias, what must he/she be thinking by now? I have a lot to type but I'm quite slow at it. For example, if we are made to believe that Islam is not terrorism that's fine but then we need to explain the 90%! All of them calling on the name of the same God and finding the justification and fulfilment for their acts of terror in the practice of religion. 90%!!!!!!! Help me, how do I make sense of this? You don't use petrol to quench a fire, something about Islam makes it the preferred religion for this kind of activity.
Thanks for your decent response though really appreciate.

No my dear, but I like and respect your maturity.
Your response does not address the concerns I expressed. You see it is realistic to suspend the use of the full hijab for the sake of these security challenges we are facing but it is not realistic to ask people to go nude. What makes it even more complex is that the hijab is been associated with Islamic extremism, the kind that breeds terrorism. And then we are seeing suicide hijab concealing suicide bombers. People have good reason to be scared of the hijab wearing people because of these things.

Notice the vulgar talk. Flagrant disregard for God. Most of these type started out on a totally wrong foundation, some traveled as far as holding fellowship EXCO and pastoral positions without truly having that encounter with Jesus. All the while living a lie, living in deliberate willful sin. They were never truly born again, never regenerated. They belong to the category of people who if present in Jesuss' day would have accused him of healing with the aid of demons. Don't waste your time next time, only God can show him/her mercy.

The "church" is not the building or d pastor but "The church" is the brethren or we myt as well say congregation
Thank you. And that's not the only misconception in that sentence. What people describe as the church is actually a mixed multitude comprising of people who have heard that Jesus fed thousands and are hoping to come and get theirs. That's why your phone or even offering can get stolen in the church. A church goer is not necessarily a member of the Christ's body, the church.
The second misconception is for a mere mortal to suppose that he can grow the church! It's ridiculous to imagine. Three thousand were added to the church in Acts, in a single day! Not by money but by the power of the Holy Spirit. God does not need money to grow His church. Hard to understand but it's true. Can anything limit God? Money is just a controversial instrument. Sometimes God uses it, other times and I dare say most of times money is not required.

Not all churches are like that. You should find a good one close to you and fellowship with other believers so that you can be strengthened and also strengthen others. I had a similar challenge when I was working in Lagos. I eventually stopped going to church and was doing my Bible study at home. But when I got to Abuja I made sure to look for an assembly without all this deceit and I found one.
