Kayode Are was DG SSS from 1999-2007. I thought Daura was retired by the last administration and brought back by PMB? It is favourite habit of you dolts to make spurious comments and pass it as fact. I hope PMB knows he said only 1 term was what he was doing . He should not forget GEJ. Sins of GEJ = wanted 2nd term after the PDP stalwarts had been informed he was going in for only 1 term. 2nd sin was releasing Al Mustapha, Baba ( OBJ ) was infuriated how dare YOU!! PMB leave a good legacy ask GEJ that 6 years was not enough went so fast. Ask OBJ the 8 years was too short he want 4 more years. Hmmm.
It took a lot out of me to make this little post. I am with Tonyebarcanista on this. Her stories have too many holes to be borne from a genuine heart. I personally think she is trying to wreck him because she's detailing the story in a way that amplifies everything he did wrong and not how she consented or was culpable herself. For instance, she claims to be 26 now which means she had to have been 18 in 2007. Why this is significant is because she has consistently maintained she was 17 even in 2008. It is mischievous because she is trying so hard to make it look like some form of statutory rape (even if it appears the legal age for Nigeria is 16), but it wasn't statutory rape. In his defence, he can always claim he thought she was 18 (but that's another story).
Secondly, just like another poster mentioned, Bashir has raped her before then the same Bashir is being summoned to lose his virginity to her days/weeks after. It just doesn't make sense. Abdul Ogohi's father was the chief of Defence Staff between 1999-2003, 4 years before the 2007-2008 era. Yet she conveniently describes him as the son of the chief of Army staff, just to portray this false image of his father being in power at the time and being able to shut her up or package her in "pieces" as she subtly alludes.
It is very possible she was involved in orgies with him and friends (even though it makes no sense for a jealous boy friend). But it is a hard sell to claim she was constantly raped and abused as she claims. Sugarbelly has a history of sounding neurotic and embellishing stories with no corroborating evidence. She once claimed she got 406 in JAMB and when she was called out for it, she refused to back down and defended it to heaven and back. Very risible. |

hush15: Clicksis, truth be told. It is not bout being a loyalist or not. You can't say one thing for A and then go to B and do another thing because of conflict of interest.
Let's visit Taraba issue. The governor won only for the tribunals to upturn it and not just upturn but declared the next contestant with the highest vote the winner. On the ground the contestant didn't participate in primary elections and thus not valid to be declared the winner. And it was given straight to the next person and not conduct fresh polls.
The catch here is this, if the votes belong to a party, the I think PDP should be given the chance to substitute also. Because the party contested and won but not its PDP, we won't address this truthfully
Back to Kogi, Audu contested along with other candidates, unfortunately he passed on before he could be declared winner. Now, the AGF and INEC have come out to say APC is given the opportunity to substitute just to please a party in an ongoing election, not yet concluded. And because the Audu contested under APC, his votes is given to their next candidate rather than terminate the contestant's vote and declare the next eligible candidate the winner as done in Taraba.
Nigerians and whoever reads this, this is not the way to go. Democracy by sentiments is not the way to go. You kicked the last government out for this and you tolerating it under another.... Neway, as you lay your bed is how you will lie on it ... In Taraba APC proved that PDP had NO candidate for the elections. It put the PDPs garnered votes as a waste because 2 things must be present for elections to hold. 1) a Party 2) the candidate. They are not mutually exclusive. If the PDP participated without a candidate, then it is as if they weren't permitted to even garner any amount of votes and as such Darius lost his mandate (according to the Tribunal). In the case of Kogi, Audu already participated in the elections so his garnered votes cannot be ruled null and void except the PDP can prove he was not qualified to vie for the position. His death cannot nullify his votes either because death only comes into play if he died pre-elections. In this case he didn't. The so-called Lacuna was created by INEC themselves when they wrongly declared the elections inconclusive. So if APC has any case whatsoever, they should be arguing to the courts that Audu should have been declared the outright winner of the elections and as such his Deputy should be sworn in. APC can now raise someone else (perhaps Audu's son) to be the Deputy governor. I do not agree with the so-called substitution as it lacks legal sense. |

IsraeliAIRFORCE: My figure is correct. It's 38000 plus a few hundreds which is approximately 2000 less than Audu/Faleke advantage It doesn't make statistical or mathematical sense. Kogi had about 1M registered voters of which about 530k got accredited. The ratio of the latter to the former will give a fair reflection of amount of accredited voters out of a possible 49k in those wards that were cancelled. To add to that, how many people with card readers always end up going to vote? Still less than the stipulated number. So in any angle, you won't even get close to 25k let alone 38k. |
Politics › Re: Kogi Poll: Wada Heads To Court by Eruditor: 4:28pm On Nov 26, 2015 |
MikaelJP: Then, with your reason the election was inconclusive because the margin between the leading candidate is not up to that of the second place. Now the leading candidate is dead means the second carry the vote For example, if Osain Bolt (God forbid) fall than and die a step to his victory and the man behind him overtake him. who win or will d race b counsel? Foul! The difference between Audu and Wada was 41k. The number of accredited voters expected in the supplementary elections is 25k. INEC should've declared Audu the governor. Period. |
Politics › Re: Kogi Poll: Wada Heads To Court by Eruditor: 4:25pm On Nov 26, 2015 |
IsraeliAIRFORCE: With the recent information from INEC that the number of PVC collected out of the 49000 voters is actually 38000 from the said polling booths where elections were rescheduled there was no need of declaring the election inconclusive hence Faleke should go to court to demand that the mandate be handed to him because INEC erred.
The number of votes Audu/Faleke had is 41000 more than Wada hence 38000 PVCs collected couldn't have stopped returning Audu/Faleke elected by INEC It can't be up to 38k. The figure was 25k. INEC goofed by not declaring Audu the governor. Period. They should just renege their schedule for the supplementary elections and declare Audu the governor and then let his Deputy be sworn in. Any other thing contravenes the law. |

gretblue: You should have known that Apc would have consulted their legal team before making any conclusion.Faleke wouldn't be the option because he didn't participate in the Apc primary election.Faleke woudnt be presented as the govship candidate simply because a candidate cant run for 2 offices in a certain/single or particular election. The law doesn't permit him to run as deputy and at the same time run for govship. The best option for Apc now is to present the second runner up in the Apc primary election. Their legal team is acting too desperate to maintain their lead and present a candidate "legitimately" that they are actually going to bite more than they can chew. If APC conducts a new primary election the emerging winner has less legitimacy to Audu's vote than Faleke. What I expect APC to do is prepare for the tribunal or head to the courts straight up and ask that Prince Audu be declared the winner of the elections even before he died. Prince Audu's vote was already counted so the humdrum about him being dead is played out. Also he has achieved more than 2/3 majority of the total LGAs and has had atleast 25% in each (something that Wada can never attain). To add to that Prince Audu led with 41k votes with the difference between the lead and the accredited voters expected to vote in the supplementary elections being not greater than 25k, so INEC goofed big time in not declaring Audu the governor. On pronouncement of his death, his Deputy, Faleke, should be sworn in as the governor. |

I advice APC to contact that Lawyer (Jiti Ogunoye or so) who spoke on the Sunrise Daily show of yesterday (Organized by Channnels News). Both INEC and the AGF have made legal gaffes concerning the issue and if APC joins in with this fiasco of a primaries, they will unwittingly give the PDP a chance to usurp the seat of power at the Tribunals or the court of Appeal.
I learnt alot from listening to him. Anybody who knows anybody in the APC should advise them so. |

PassingShot: For all it's worth, PMB knew the situation on ground six months ago when he was sworn in. He must have realized he will have to need supplementary budget to pay marketers their subsidy long before now. So, why did he wait till just about 2 wks ago to send a bill to that effect? Also, why has he failed to address the nation about the situation when it's clear there was no immediate solution?
I don't think six months is too short to nip a potential catastrophe in the bud. The president failed to act early enough to prevent this current crisis and I don't think anyone can explain this convincingly.
I hope he gets his acts right though at the end of the day. Read my last post to anonimi. Investigations are still on-going. How much should subsidy be? What should subsidy be paid on? There was a Presidential directive by Yar Adua on the cancellation of Kerosene subsidy but Deziani was still paying it to the tune of 10B USD. If the Kerosene subsidies is what the Marketers are REALLY asking for then why artificially make the PMS scarce? Dr. Ibe Kachikwu already claimed Nigeria was supposed to have products for the next 3 weeks (which would've been sufficient time to have the supplementary budget passed) but all of a sudden the scarcity got to it's peak. As soon as DPR started going around to some filling stations and Tank Farms we realized in reality that some marketers were hoarding their products- the same products they will sell at exorbitant rates and still ask FG for subsidy. That's why he instructed that any defaulter should lose his products at zero cost. In Lagos, the Fuel queues are clearing yet the same supplementary budget hasn't been passed. How did it happen? Because in truth the marketers did have the products. They only created the false scarcity. I was watching the news the other day and DPR workers in PHC went to a Conoil Tank Farm. The Manager of the Farm confessed that they had over a million litres of PMS but that their "chairman" instructed them to only distribute to conoil or Glo affiliated branches while the rest of the product should be driven down to Abuja. This is a clear case of a big marketer refusing to let the "masses" get products even through his own filling stations. If this isn't sabotage I wonder what is. Ofcourse, he will claim he is doing so because he is being owed subsidy proceeds, an agreement he had been owed long before this present govt. There's alot to be said. |

LIE Mohammed, was giving us lectures about avoiding "African time". Anyway shebi he said he knows nothing of fuel subsidy! Make una dey follow una deadi body enter grave dey go oh. Dr. Ibe Kachikwu was appointed in August if I am not mistaken. That is exactly when PMB mandated him amongst other things to investigate the subsidy regime. Dr. Ibe Kachikwu during his screening for his ministerial appointment told us he was still carrying out his investigation on the subsidy programme but he could categorically confirm 2 things: a) that the much touted 40M litres per day consumption figure for PMS was a ruse with his analysis pointing him more to 30M. b) that a chunk of the subsidy claims were more towards DPK than PMS. (So yes PMB was right in not understanding the subsidy or claiming it didn't really exist for PMS). What you don't understand is that the supplementary budget of 413B is not majorly for new subsidy claims but also for part of the close to 160B that the marketers still claim GEJ owed them from time past. The investigation of this sort of scheme will take way more than 6 months. A Daft man will rush in to give kneejerk responses and then pay for his gaffes. But a wise man will approach cautiously and get the job done. Enough said. |

jomoh: Dear Passingshot
I share your sentiments on the fuel scarcity issue. At the least the Minister of State for Petroleum could've release a press statement stating what and what they are doing to address the situation.
On the issue of travelling around, I think I have a contrary opinion on it.
I hate to see it when people complain that PMB keeps travelling around. I think I remember vividly between 1999 and year 2000, people were counting the number of countries OBJ had travelled to.
A serious government don't just sit in his office to govern especially not the President of a third world country that has numerous issues and serious diplomatic breakdown inherited from the previous administration.
You particularly mentioned his trip to Iran. Here you suggested that he could have sent Ministers to represent him. How can a any president send ministers to represent him at a function that the likes of Vladmir Putin himself was personally present. You can imagine the kind of diplomatic row and ridicule that will have on our country.
Every of Buhari's trip has been a very strategic trip that sending Ministers can simply not suffice.
Also before a President of any country can decide to personally attend a foreign function, diplomatic confirmation wouldve been made of the attendance of other heads of state other invited countries. So if the attendance of heads of state of more influential countries has been confirmed, why then will a Nigerian president send Ministers to represent him. The only reason that can make a President to send his ministers is when it has been confirmed that other invited countries are also sending Ministers as representative Or is itr possible to send a minister to meet with president of another country.
Also there are types and categories of foreign trips.
1 Invitation by the host nation. (It is stated if it is the minister that is requested or the head of state himself)
2 Initiation of visit by the visiting country. This is when the visiting country decides to make a visit himself to discuss issues.
3 Function is the type that he is going for in Paris. He may decide to send ministers but if it is confirmed that heads of states of paticipating countries are to be present, he will have no choice than to be present.
There are more of this. The request visitation, letter of invitation or purpose of visitation will always determine who and who travels.
This is a very huge error on your path as I believe you know better but it seems you're paying too much attention to the noise of wailers and its starting to reflect on your analysis.
PMB is not GEJ that travels without motive. I lost count of the number of times GEJ travelled to Israel. Most of it were not to meet with the Israeli prime minister. One of such was when Stella Oduah went to meet him to settle her corruption case.
Please brother we are still a developing nation that needs to travel to strengthen our diplomatic relationships with countries and also our bilateral agreements. Don't join the clueless wailers in their moribund bandwagon. This is a balanced post. |

PassingShot: Warning: Let no wailer see this as an opportunity to wail uncontrollably. This article is in line with my personal resolve to call the president to order on this forum whenever he missteps. Besides, GEJ was not an option in the last election. So, please keep your sermon of “we told you”, “we warned you”, “Buhari is incompetent” and other bla bla blas to yourself.
Fuel Scarcity: Deafening Silence from the president One area that our hopes and expectations of good result of Buhari’s presidency were high is in the petroleum industry. Apart from the fact that the president has failed to find a permanent solution to the issue of oil subsidy in the last six months he has presided over the affairs of Nigeria, he has also failed to provide petrol to Nigerians at the regular pump price of N87 and with ease.
To say that the current situation of fuel scarcity has brought untold hardship and resulted in irreplaceable loss of productive time is an understatement. The more worrisome is the fact that the president who doubles as the nation’s minister of petroleum has not deemed it fit and necessary to address the nation (through TV or through one of his media aides) on the hardship citizens are passing through and also use the opportunity to apologize and assuage our anger. This silence is too deafening to be ignored and I hereby condemn it in its entirety, the president’s handling of the fuel scarcity we have at our hands. He should as a matter of national urgency address the nation on what is happening, the government’s efforts to normalize it and above all the long term solution (if not permanent) to the problem. Anything short of this amounts to taking Nigerians for a ride. Pure and simple!
Excessive Overseas Trip Another area I think the president has erred in recent times is that of gallivanting abroad at every given opportunity. When ministers had not come on board I could understand the need for him to personally attend to those numerous summits and conferences but with the coming of all ministers I’d expected that there will be a drastic reduction in such journeys. The latest one to Iran for Gas Exporting Countries didn’t require his personal presence plus that of Ibe Kachikwu (Min. of state for petroleum) and Tunde Fashola (Min of Power, Works and Housing). He could have let Kachikwu and Fashola attend that one and if he must attend he should have let Ibe Kachikwu stay at home tending to the fuel crisis at hand.
As if the gaffe of the Iran trip was not enough, I read moment ago that the president is due to lead a delegation to Paris on Climate Change! Now, this one is a trip too many in my opinion. We have more pressing issues at home than climate change. Besides, we have a minister of Environment who can lead a Nigerian delegation if we must attend. Why our president must reduce himself to “Ajala travels all over the world” in the face of enormous challenges at the home front beats my imagination.
Dear PMB, you have a chance to prove to Nigerians that we did not make a mistake in electing you president. If you however choose to do as it pleases you even in the face of sufferings of the common man, 2019 is not far away.
May God Bless Nigeria! You are letting unintelligent wailers get to you. There are a few things you are not taking into consideration and they are affecting your analysis. GEJ and NOI created this budget PMB is currently working with. In this budget, they allocated only N150B for subsidy fully cognizant of the debts they owed the PMS marketers even before now. Have we forgotten so soon how terrible the "fuel" situation was in May before PMBs swearing-in? Do you recall that the PMS marketers held this country at a stand still because they knew GEJ had refused to settle his debts and they were petrified that PMB (going by his character) would refuse to pay off the same debts. PMB made a proposal to your NA asking for 413B to help supplement the subsisting budget and the major chunk of that sum is for subsidies on PMS. The FG is ready to make the payments as soon as that proposal succeeds at plenary, but I doubt it has gotten there. I only saw it being superficially discussed 2 weeks back. This is the major issue with the fuel situation. There are atleast 2 others on this thread that have given salient explanations to some of the issues you raised. I understand your objectivity but we need to be careful when it feels like we are responding to the whims and caprices of ignorant and chronically wailing knaves. |

If INEC wants to be taken serious, they should discountenance the AGF's interpretation and announce a day for Fresh elections. This is Fraud. I strongly disagree. If your opinion is implemented it will set a precedence that not only maligns common sense but will be expensive and illogical. Consider a scenario that Wada was leading and his Deputy died whilst INEC declared inconclusive. The rule should mean that the whole elections will be cancelled and fresh elections held because the same electoral act says anybody running for governor can only have a mandate if he has a deputy. Also in the same vein consider a situation if one of the lesser parties had their own candidate deceased before the announcements or completion of the elections. Would INEC not be mandated to cancel the entire elections and conduct fresh ones? |

Both Jonathan and Dasuki are co-conspirators. Just that one of them is more ignorant than the other. I will give wailers a chance to decide which of the 2 is the more ignorant one.
GEJ was warned by 2 of his then service chiefs about the plans of Dasuki when he used fiat to ask the service chiefs to write a note of receipt stating that they actually did receive the military hardware- things they definitely didn't receive. GEJ told them not to bother as Dasuki had everything under control. Few days later, GEJ fired those service chiefs and left the one who played to the gallery. He even appointed him the CDS. This is the same man who on retiring confessed that the military had been under equipped since 2006.
Alot is yet to be revealed. GEJ cannot pretend he is oblivious of the goings-on in his government especially as it relates to the military and the war against BH. And If he decides to throw Dasuki under the bus, the latter will expose him as well as other service chiefs who were in on the act.

The irony is, when AFC play Giroud I expect the crosses to come from the flanks more, and when they play with Walcott I expect over the top passes and through balls. But Arsenal did nothing of the sort until the tail end of the Tottenham game. It's rather simplistic but it will do alot if the 'Aristocrat' takes note of this. It is preposterous in the first place for the Senate to be entertaining cases that are already before a court of competent jurisdictions. These people are wasting our precious time and resources. This is a matter the Senate is constitutionally forbidden to make any pronouncement on. Will the Senate now say based on your political enemies recommendation we will not allow you to serve your fatherland as requested by Mr. President. Will the Senate also stop the Rivers state Senators from functioning when and if National Human Right Commission submit petitions on live killings of APC supporters by PDP thugs? The killings were aired live from Okrika - we do not even need to start looking for evidences; videos are on youtube.
This case is purely judicial and can only be settled through judicial procedures.
The only pronouncements that are regarded as law from the Assembly are bills that have been dully processed.
Anyway, this is one of the styles of the usual suspect Senator Saraki; he is adopting leverage against his numerous graft cases before various courts of the land. This committee task is a waste of public fund irrespective of their recommendations; recommendations that will only be advisory and lack legal weight. People like you make NL worth the visit. |

RaptorX: Are you people just being silly, or you and others are just being fanatical supporters of this president. How is moving from GMD NNPC to a figure head minister of state moving up, when the minister of petroleum himself is the president. How much power can a minister of state wields when your immediate boss is the president himself. Why do you people have zero critical thinking skills. How much power did Deziani wield? GEJ was her substantive head. Same with Kachikwu and PMB. |
