Chiaka is a troll. Don't feed the troll. Amaechi didn't contest for any position. He has governed Rivers for 8 years with tangible results to show for it. He challenged the status quo in the then ruling party who were hell-bent on wrecking Nigeria. His name will forever be etched in the History of Nigeria as one of the Field Marshalls of change. He is now greater than any SS governor in the History of Nigeria and he has trumped GEJ (a former President) seeing that he was strategic in his ousting. I speak for majority of Nigerians when I say we are proud of Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the Lion of Ubima! |
prelinctus:But Eruditor is not poor. He has billions... of Zimbabwean dollars! ![]() |
Ibime:It is not JUST because Wenger has never beaten him. It is because Mou has won more times. After all, some of the games including the most recent one was a draw. And again Mou and Wenger played twice with the squad that was unbeaten. 2-2 and 0-0. In both games Arsenal dominated and CFC played for the draw. Nothing crushing about Chelsea with respect to that unbeaten team. So try again. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2328182/Jose-Mourinho-special-Andre-Villas-Boas-failed-Tottenham--Adrian-Durham-column.html |
homesteady:Seconded. |
pamcode:Yea...the unbeliever there is in relation to Coded's false prophecy. Lol |
coded01:I was an unbeliever. I am happy I was ![]() |
barackohandso:Yea, you are right. We needed to win them to equal the points tally they had and we didn't. |
honeric01:I am showing that the difference between last season and this season is so little, we could have easily done the double last year. In other words, those things like gelling, playing this player in this position, reducing rotation that you call "little errors" is the difference between our nearly season and this epoch-making one. |
honeric01:Whenever Messi drops deep it always appears like Suarez is on the right but he is not- not anymore. He is now the registered CF. You don't expect a mobile team like Barca to have static players, that's why it appears like Suarez plays on the right. To check if your assertion is right watch the RM game at Santiago and the replay at Nou Camp. Suarez was the one tracking back to assist Alves to mark but in the reverse fixture and even yesterday, Messi was the one doing that. And when you talk about little errors you need to realise that Barca since 2008 have only always had "little errors". Remember we had equal points with the La Liga champions last season and we lost by the odd goal in the CDR final. That was nearly a double ![]() |
dearpreye:In fairness to Fabregas we rarely deployed him in the role Rakitic currently plays. For the most part Fabregas played as a false 9 in some matches and an 11 for the most of the remainder of the other times. I saw a comment attributed to Bourinho where he said Barca didn't use Fabregas well. Same way with Ibra and maybe Alexis Sanchez. Doesn't matter now. The results don't lie. |
honeric01:You missed my point. Lucho started out trying to fix these things (the emboldened) you are talking about and off late (apart from yesterday) we have seen the necessary improvements so that's not what we complained about. He rotated the team endlessly and few times without need (especially the front 3). He was slow to react when other manager's changed their tactics and sometimes it worked against us. Yesterday and Sevilla come to mind. He played Suarez on the right and the midfielders never tracked his run on many occasions or they simply went for the more conservative and safe pass. Remember when people wanted Daniel Alves gone by all means because of his failed crosses and putrid performances? He got his defensive pairings wrong in the group stage game against PSG. He changed from all these to the mix of counter-attacking and tiki-taka which we now enjoy and with a more predictable line-up. Not the early days when the Barcelona B grads like Rafihna and co were starting important matches. The keyword is that he changed. |
Why is Casillas being blamed? Madrid don't defend well. It's an open secret. |
diggz:*Ignored* |
diggz:*Ignored* |
honeric01:What attributes? Does he react to the opposing manager's on-the-spot tactics better now? Do we defend setpieces better? Do we score more from setpieces than ever? |
JigsawKillah:Sneijder average, Etoo average, Cambiasso average, Milito average. Men, I tire. If someone asked you who is better between Mou and Wenger you would rush and say Mou. If you are asked why, you would say, he has won more trophies, he has beaten Wenger more he was won the UCL etc. Fine. If I use the same criteria for Pep and Mou, you change the standards and start asking me if I am in the Nigerian police. Lol. Are we now celebrating illogic? I should best listen to Keky and Dayo. |
timbros:RM will win the 2002 UCL again and again. Same with 2014. Barca in 2011 and 2009. Bayern of 2013. Inter of 2010 was a fluke. Same with Porto of 2004 and Chelsea of 2012. If Usain Bolts develops a hamstring injury whilst running and Asafa Powell wins the 100M dash won't you regard it as a fluke? You keep wondering why you reply me yet you keep replying me. I told someone else to, but I think you should do same and argue with your mirror. NB: I read your post wrong. I thought I saw League and FA Cup. You do realise Pep has won 5 trophies in the last 2 seasons? Between 2008 to now who has more trophies between the 2? Whose head to head record is better? Whose style of football revolutionized the way the game is played? Who has inflicted the worst scoring record on who? Whose team is regarded as the best team of his generation? Was that team regarded as that before him? I rest my case. |
honeric01:Bro, let us be fair Lucho is a good fitness coach. He has kept the team fit for the most part and that aspect cannot be taken away from him, together with the fact that he is on the brink of winning a historic treble. But let us be fair to some of his critics (myself included), he did change and become more consistent with his team selection. If you remember, part of our grouse with him was that he kept rotating the squad and the results weren't going his way. We heard about the alleged bust-up with Messi. We lost some games that we traditionally should not have lost and we were right to criticise him. Let me give you a scenario. If a manager is being hounded continuously that he needs 4 new players but he insists that he doesn't yet he goes on to win nothing that first year then the following year he acquires the 4 players that he was advised to and he wins a treble, won't the critics be right to say the pressure they put on him instigated his success? You do realise that Lucho changed? So the criticism, though sometimes exaggerated, is somewhat responsible for the change and that is an incontrovertible fact. |
I am so relieved we went through. I made enemies on this thread because I expressed my trepidations. You guys may have to get used to it because that is how I support Barca especially as you all are aware I wasn't a fan of Luis Enrique when he was first signed. After the 3-0 game at Nou Camp I was sure we were through. It doesn't matter who qualifies tomorrow. We look clutch for the title. I hope Juve knock RM out shaaa. Forza Barça! |
timbros:Here is your own quote: "an unlikely chance occurrence, especially a surprising piece of luck". So I am re-iterating it that RDM won the UCL by a fluke. Which means 10 times after that he would never have won it. I mean replay that season over and over and Chelsea wont have won it. It was serendipitous. It was lucky. It was a fluke! |
bigkesh:What had they achieved before Pep? 2 years they won nothing. Can you read? |
bigkesh:Typical Chelsea fan: impulsive and bereft of reasoning ability. Do you want to bet Mourinho didn't finish 3rd with Porto his first season there? And when you find out you posted spittle will you accept calling you a M0r0n will be degrading to M0r0ns? And before we talk about Enrique won't we let him actually win all the trophies? Won't we let him Coach at that top level for a sustained period or have we forgotten RDM so soon? I know you are the typical Chelsea fan so I would give you some pointers to ruminate on. 1. Pep inherited a squad that finished 18 points behind the first team and 3rd place on the table. Enrique inherited a squad that finished 2nd with the same points as the first team. 2. Pep sold the best player of that team and achieved all he did without him. Enrique built his team around the best player (justified of course). 3. Pep's team was cheaper than Enrique's. 4. Nobody expected much from Pep. He exceeded people's expectations but Enrique is meeting the expectations people had for his squad comprising of Neymar, Messi and Suarez. |
timbros:Lol. How else would he have got to the final except passing through the quarters and semis? Do you by any chance know what the word "fluke" means? Please do some research. You are exposing your pseudo-scholarlyness. And don't be inane enough to forget that I quoted your whole post to prevent your editing ploy. If you can't own up to such a clear goof, what else will you own up to? |
philips70:Deziani was acting under GEJs instructions. She is as much a thief as GEJ permitted her to be. |
jpphilips:Don't mind that paid hack. Neconde has only committed 300M USD to an asset that is valued at 2.1B USD yet Deziani ordered NPDC to concede the asset to them. Neconde is a consortium of Nestoil and co with Obiejesie, the CEO, a very close friend of GEJ whose Private Jet was used to carry GEJ around in 2010/2011. He is the front for GEJ and Deziani. Thievering Knaves! |
philfearon:Help me ask them. |
JigsawKillah:Utter Bafflegab. When did anyone become less for MATCHING a record? FCB was stable when? RM was unstable? Hahahaha. You swallowed the same smokescreen Mou fed you with. Before Mou got to Madrid Pellegrini had just finished with 96 points. 3 behind Barca. If that is not stable enough for Mou then nothing is. In his 3 seasons at RM he only beat that points tally ONCE. As per Iniesta, Xavi and ladida...they were above average players before Pep. He made them the formidable and influential players that they were when Mou came. You can't tell us anyone could win with them. Barca were on the verge of selling Xavi to Bayern before Pep was signed. It was his vision that made them keep Xavi. Mou destroyed KaKa's career and Rijkaard had those players for 2 years before Pep yet he won nothing. So is Dayo better than Rijkaard? Pep hoping for a Fergie? Hahahaha. The same Pep that refused to sign more than a year's contract? Surely, there are better Mou admirers than this. Mou came to win a UCL with RM- La Decima. That was his task. He failed. Period. He rode Fergie's d!ck. Sucked United Balls but they didn't give him the job. I wonder why? Your last paragraph is the same rehashed bunkum Mourinho supporters keep vomiting. Barca was a team on the decline when he took over. They wanted stability for the first year and a push the following year. He won everything in his first season alone. He went to Bayern that had won everything possible. They gave him 3 objectives. Win the league, the Cup and at least get to the UCL semi final. He achieved his task first season alone beating Juup's record in the league. That is consistency. Mou came to Porto and finished 3rd before he won the league. He went to Chelsea and did really well his first season (achieving his objectives) but the team peaked during his second season and went downhill from thence. He never recovered and was sacked. He inherited an Inter team that Mancini had won 3/4 league titles with. His only objective was winning the UCL and he did so his next season after buying 7 key players. He globetrotted to RM and you know the rest... Mou is a great manager. But with the criteria that the best manager's should be and are judged on, he is behind Pep. You can argue with your mirror. |
timbros:No, I listed coaches that did well a previous season and did reasonably well the following season (albeit not up to par with the previous one) and yet still got sacked. Del Bosque- 2002 UCL, 2003 la liga (sacked) Ancelloti UCL & Copa Del Rey 2014, 2015 2nd in the league, Semi UCL (European Super Cup and WCC) (imminent sack) Pep Bundesliga, DFB-POKAL, Semi UCL 2014. Bundesliga, Semi DFB-POKAL, Semi UCL 2015 (Bad season) If Pep had Mou's season last year, he would have been sacked. And Btw, RDMs win was a fluke. He won on penalties after Bayern totally dominated the game. Moreso, his CFC team played utter garbage football and were in freefall before his sack. Avram lost to Tottenham at the Carling cup finals? Your £300M pounds team? Should Brazil keep a manager that loses to Kuwait at the Confederations cup finals? Mou won league and FA Cup double in 2007? Hahahahaha. Is this who I am debating with? |
JigsawKillah:Mou didn't do anything Legendary in RM. He won the league with 100 points. So what? The record was 99 points before he broke it and guess who set that record? Your guess is as good as mine. The following year, Pep's assistant equalled Mou's record, proving to him that it was nothing to blow trumpets about. In Mou's 3 seasons at RM, Barcelona won the league twice. The UCL once, Spanish Super cup twice and Copa Del Rey once. They beat Mou more times than he beat them and they caused him to run out of Spain before his contract was up. So much for the "he ended Barca's dominance" piffle. |
JigsawKillah:Wanton prevarications. Dortmund won the league twice in the last 3 years before Pep came and RM won the la liga twice in the last 3 years too and were the reigning Champions before Pep. Also, the demands at Bayern are waay higher than they are at Chelsea. Bayern, Barcelona and Real Madrid are in reality the biggest clubs in world football. LVG got to a UCL final with Bayern and was fired the following season even though he lost to Inter at the Quarter finals (the same team that beat him in the UCL final the previous year). Juup won the UCL the season before Pep yet Pep has gone to 2 semi finals after that and his job is still uncertain. Carlo Ancelloti won the UCL last season but there are clear insinuations that he would lose his job this season despite getting to the UCL semi final this year. Del Bosque won 2 UCL titles with RM in 3 years. Lost in a semi final to Juventus the following year (2003) and was sacked despite winning the league. The list is endless. RDMs fluke title in 2012 has secured the jobs of any Chelsea manager for another 10 years. Mou can crash out to Bradford 4-2, 10-Man PSG yet some Chelsea fans will tell you he sacrificed those competitions to win the league yet they will remind you how Pep lost to Dortmund (on penalties) in the DFB-Pokal semi finals and how he is on the brink of being ousted by Barca. They won't tell you he lost his best players with his remaining players battling a loss of morale. Don't they know that a club that blames any manager for losing to RM and Barcelona has higher demands than one that makes excuses for a manager who loses to Bradford and PSG? |
sebod:This is sooo true. You can find the odd one or 3 person's saying CR7 is better than Messi or that they prefer him to Messi. But you can NEVER find any person of note saying CR7 is the greatest of all times yet we hear that every so often about Messi. Says alot if you ask me. |
@ Chemali Good one. |
