homesteady:Verbose gibberish. . .again. Let's do a simple test to see who is daft and cretinous. 1. Quote any of my posts where I said Madrid will beat Barca. In actual fact I said juvenile dolts like you (unfortunate to be supporting Barca) would say we would easily beat them (you even hoped we'd play them now instead of Juve), and base the wanton hubris on our current form, forgetting that we had that current form twice before we played them and still fell behind on the head to head card. I hope your puny brain can spot the connection. I'd not tire to show you. FYI we played Madrid 22nd of March 2015. Those who can use a calendar know it implies this year just over a month ago. 2. 52% to 48% is not winning possession you steaming turd. There is something called a margin of errors in statistics. This means that the possession scale was roughly equal and this can be explained because we held on to the ball longer during that game to kill off time. I can't keep schooling oafs for free. . . .I am actually worn out. Almost every line in your post is rehashed inanity and JPEGed gaffes. We played Madrid 4-3 not 3-2, headed setpiece goals are few and far between in Barca (hence an anomally) etc etc. if you yank the ON THE DAY part of the Almeria quote out of your rebuttal, then you are proof that goats can use NL. Don't overheat your airhead I won't embarrass you further. I am like that Therapist that let the fool call him a fool so that the real fool will feel better about himself. Do something about your comprehension issues. Don't let it be responsible for your demise. Idiocy already has that covered. |
homesteady:LOL. I am the last person you can ever attribute to having comprehension issues. But I know you have a penchant for seeing yourself in others, so fair enough. 1. Is head to head used in La liga? See why tomfoolery should be a crime in Nigeria? 2. Again is head to head not used in La Liga? You ask yourself your own questions, then give them your own answers, circumventing the one's that were thrown at you while at it. That is confusion crystallized. 3. You should qualify as the most incompetent data analyst in the world! You brought figures showing we had only 52% possession of the ball at Nou Camp (record low for the season and in which the last 15 mins of the game was responsible for). Then you showed we had 17 shots with 5 on target, to Real's 14 shots with 4 on target. This shows we were evenly matched in that regard and when we consider that CR7s shot hitting the post and Bale's goal that was ruled offside weren't factored into this stat, it shows they probably shaded it. Then we scored a goal from a set piece and one from a long pass (almost antithetical to how Barca plays) and that the 2nd goal came rather fortuitously and when we were behind in terms of the stats on ground at the time, then it is clear to see why Lucho, pundits and MANY other blogs tilted the game in the balance and gave the winner the "lucky tag". A ragtag bumbly pseudo-analyst on NL fails to agree and I should lose sleep over it? B. Asking me if I understood English got me LMAO. I reiterated the fact that we were rightfully tired before Madrid, but I also mentioned that they had a poor run of form getting to the game. If you could miss such an incontrovertible fact, why are you bothering to reply me? 4. Sorry, you are easily the one with the blatant comprehension issues. You are rehashing the same bunkum hoping it would suddenly become valuable and stick. If Barca plays Valencia at the Nou camp, and gifts away many chances to the away team but somehow still wins. Would anyone be amiss to say "If you are playing against better opposition than Valencia, you won't be this lucky"? Is Bayern not a better opposition than Valencia? So what are you hyperventilating about? 5. Did anyone else notice the level of rank Idiocy your conclusion on, or question about Almeria reached? And you dared call someone else out for their comprehension, yet it is obvious you skipped all such classes since you were born. Let me help you out once more. This is what I said: ". . .then ON THAT DAY, Almeria's attack was more deadly seeing that they converted their only chance to a goal. If Barca had done same, we would have won 15-1". If you cannot make out what that means, then Jesus Christ cannot help you. 6. LOL. 2 things. 1. You are not as clever as you think you are. 2. This is Man city's form before Bayern on the 25th of November 2014- W W L L(carling cup to Newcastle) W D W. This is what you call a run of form not just selecting the last 3 or 4 games. That is disingenuous. Here is what their form looked like before Barca- D L L (against Middlesbrough FA Cup) D D W W. If we take away the Carling cup and FA cup games, City had 4 wins in the last 6 games before Bayern, and 2 wins in the last 6 before they played Barca (that is why I said their form was sketchy). Meanwhile, Barca's form was like W W W W W W W W W L. So would we, all of a sudden say Barca had bad form because of the last L? To now crown it up, you unintelligently infused the goals scored caveat because if a team wins 1 nil in 4 games and has W W W W as their form sheet, they are worse than another that had D D W W if the last 2 wins were 4-1 and 5-0? Hahahahaha. Now that is something to laugh about. 7. I have never said anywhere that Barca cannot beat Bayern. I said I am scared because it is over 2 legs. Over 2 legs. Emphasis on OVER 2 LEGS. Jeez. NB: Notice I ignored your petty jibe. It is petty, to tussle with a petty man. |
homesteady:LOL. I should be telling you this. For petes sake, the league games are months apart undecided undecided don't you know many things will change before the 2nd leg?It is sensible. Barca lost 3-1 months before. Barca was aware that the league could go down to the head-to-head comparison, so Barca would want to first of all: get 3 points from Madrid and then beat them with a healthy goal difference. Barca could only do one of these things which was to get the win on the day- same thing Dortmund did against Madrid last season, same thing Madrid did against Dortmund in 2013, same thing Porto did to Bayern in the first leg, and same thing Schalke did against Madrid. But in the course of looking at it over 2 games- Barca does not have a head to head advantage over Madrid and my hope is that it is not the case with Bayern. That was my point. Yes we were tired after playing against City. But RM had lost to schalke and Bibao plus they had drawn with Villareal and won Levante just before playing us. Their form was sketchy to say the least. We barely beat them because we were lucky- especially considering how the first half went. MR Man, my point there was - Barcelona can't win every team comfortably especially top 5 teams! undecided I wasn't talking about form! If your supposed perfect bayern could not win about 6 games against their top 5 teams, why do you expect Barça to not just win, but win comfortably against the top 5 teams? You mentioned how Wolfsburg beat Bayern 4-1. I cited how A. Madrid did that to RM in the league and in other games yet when it came to the UCL it was different. So stop comparing apples and oranges. It is like someone mentioning Malaga to argue that Barca beating PSG over 2 legs was nothing. When you want to juxtapose Bayern and Barca you should so with their strengths and run of form, not with freak results they suffered. Na wa oh! So 1 more shot is not negligible?Barca had 2 goals in 16 attempts at the Etihad. That is a goal every 8 attempts. For this analysis to make sense we should compare it with City vs Bayern too at the same ground. In that game, Bayern scored 2 goals in 7 attempts. Meaning 1 goal every 2.9 attempts. Again they convert better. Please drop the BS on makeshift defence. Bayern are depleted by injuries to very key players including defenders. What would we be without Leo? Bayern didn't have their own "Leo" in Robben. So they played with a makeshift attack, no? You should know that stats like this don't really show which team has the deadlier attack! You are confusing yourself with the poor interpretation you are giving to hard facts. Deadlier attack is the one that creates more chances or the one that converts it? If the former, FCB possess the deadliest attack in world football. If the latter, then on that day, Almeria's attack was more deadly seeing that they converted the only chance they got. If we had done same, we would have won 15-1! I just saw that after the stoke 4-1 trashing, they won Newcastle 5-0, then they played barca! This is rather disingenuous of you. I was referring to when Bayern played City at the Etihad. City had won 3 or 4 games leading to that game from the month before, and went on to win 5 more games after it, losing to only West Ham and drawing with QPR. Compare that to their run of form just before hosting Barca and only the Stoke and Newcastle wins stand out. I remember people were even saying man city will win barca at that time sef! even their yeye players were making mouth! It is the same way some Barca fans are talking smack and we are warning them. I'm sure you are playing for us to lose so that you can gloat at us!I am one of you. I am not petty as to wanting Bayern to win so that I would gloat. To those whose hearts are pure, all things are pure. |
homesteady:You are answering your own questions. Before bringing Madrid in, I said the average Barca fan will say they expect to beat Madrid over 2 legs (the same way they are boasting about Bayern) yet the 2 legs we played against Madrid (even when we were in crazy form and them, otherwise) we needed luck to beat them by the odd goal. Lesson 1: over 2 legs we lost to Madrid. Do you expect Barça to win against all opponents comfortably? okay! it might interest you to know that Bayern failed to win only six Bundesliga matches this season, Five of those came in games against teams in the top five! When it suits your argument, you go 17 matches back to judge Bayern. When it doesn't suit you, you insist we judge Barca based on the most recent UCL games. How convenient? So A. Madrid that beat R.Madrid 4-0 in the league had nothing to fear when playing the latter in the UCL? How did that work out for them and their pseudo- bravado? Bayern 1 vs 0 CitySo from the statistics you provided above which team had more attempts? Which had more shots on target? Yet both teams had only 1 goal. Goes to show you what I meant when I said Barca haven't made good, all the numerous chances we have created in many games. So your very statistics defeats you. Yes Bayern missed many chances in the 6 and 7 goal games. But they scored 6 and 7 goals. Can you bring out the total number of chances Bayern had in those games so we can calculate their conversion percentage? That's a good way to analyse figures. As for you last question, I don't think anything could be more un-intellectual. You have 3 attackers worth atleast 400M pounds. That have scored about 100 goals together. Won't that be regarded as a dangerous strike force, even if they fluffed say 400 chances while at it? What would any good analyst say about another team that has only say 50 goals out of 150 chances created? They would say the latter is more efficient seeing that they have a 1/3 chance conversion rate compared to the 1 in 4 of the former. Charge at us in camp nou? did we watch the same match? was it not that match they kept on showing Guardiola funny reactions after our boys do something spectacular?Firstoff, read my posts well and toss away the extraneous nothingness you were drivelling at WRT "charge at us". I said, "City trying to charge at us was undoable"- meaning, they could not charge at us at the Nou Camp. Secondly, that City win at Stoke was their first in 4 games prior to Barca. During the UCL group stage they were doing alot better in the EPL and necking it with Chelsea. So yes their form was better then. Look at it this way, if a team's current form in the last 4 games is L L D W while another teams' is W W W L. Which team has a better run of form? Sooooooo......? We can beat them!Yes. But I am praying we do it over 2 legs. |
barackohandso:As it stands- with all their injuries. But they have Pep, and they take more chances. So I am expressing my fear, yet hoping we win. |
sebod:I didn't say there was NO iota of pessimism. I am not all pessimistic. I want Barca to win. But I am prepared to manage my expectations if it doesn't not go our way. As it stands, we are on course to beating them. |
homesteady:I am just seeing this. 1. I made my post just before the draw was given and I stated why I preferred to face Juve now and any other team at the finals. My fear is not in beating Bayern but in doing so over 2 legs. 2. The Madrid match I referred to happened this year when we beat them 2-1 at the Nou Camp even after knowing we lost 3-1 at their home (also factoring the possibility of a head to head pairing). As you can see, we didn't particularly play well in that game and we rode on luck to beat them as Ajanlekoko rightly alluded to (which I endorsed). We struggled against Celta and Sevilla as well, without failing to mention Valencia (even though we won all these games, there was more of serendipity to it than brawn) 3. If you compare chances Bayern created in those 7 and 6 goal games, to the goals they scored you can tell that they converted more of their chances into goals than we do. Take for instance the Man City game over 2 kegs where we created a plethora of chances but only put 3 past them including missing a penalty! In the first leg of the games you are referring to, Bayern were stifled and reduced to half chances- it happens. I am judging them from their strengths and not weaknesses. 4. Yes Bayern's defence can be awful and I said we can exploit it but so can ours at times. Even at that the 2nd leg of the Bayern vs City game was played at the Etihad when Bayern had qualified and City needed to win the last 3 games to ensure that they did. Remember Bayern were leading 2-0 before Alonso's red card which stemmed the game in City's favor. In our own situation, we had done the hard job by beating City at the Etihad, so them coming to charge at the 2nd leg was almost undoable. Besides, City were in better form when they played Bayern than when they did us. There are always different ways to look at things. 5. I am not being pessimistic. I believe we can beat Bayern at the Nou Camp. My trepidation is beating them over 2 legs. What if we beat them 4-2 at Nou Camp and lose 2-0 at the Allianz? What if we draw 2-2 at the Nou camp and 1-1 at the Allianz arena? |
Billyonaire:Sore loser. Your man is not a standard for discussing what is possible or impossible when it comes to governance and leadership. I mean, a clueless, lily-livered, always-playing-politics, put-my-puerile-ambitions-over-Nigeria, paranoid failure cannot be used as a standard for anything. FYI, this topic has nothing to do with GMB. The post that initiated these reactionary responses from you and that other confused GMB-hater only mentioned 29th of May, when the new govt would be sworn in. This signifies that the era of all such funny court judgments that upheld the sacking of a speaker by 7 State House of assembly members will be over. |
saintandsinnerz:Absolute bunkum. The Amnesty was a charade and Yar Adua only offered it to broach acceptability of his govt which came in via the worst elections in Nigerian history. It is only In Nigeria where people who kill their fellow citizens and participate in all forms of anti patriotic activities are rewarded with amnesty programmes. So what happens if several other militancy groups rise, should GMB keep offering them amnesty? It is easier for him to end the programme and dedicate funds to procure ammunitions in anticipation of any backlash. By the time he crushes 3 or 4 of their leaders, the rest will take cue. Besides, amnesty programmes are not designed to last forever. They are supposed to be intermittent, to reintroduce the so-called aggrieved parties into the country. |
zendy:I have a problem with people who post first and think later. Buhari has said ad nauseam that he doesn't have the time to go back revisiting old cases and old politicians. The one's in the court will be followed up. But as from 29th of May, 2015, it will become a crime to loot public funds and GMB will exercise the full length of the law to ensure that it is so. Amnesty is going, pipeline security contracts, mumbo jumbo pay days from GEJ, etc etc. Gone! Hope Asari made savings, he'd need it. |
appini:LOL. Asari was in prison eating beans and begging Obj everyday to release him. His fellow militants where blowing up the odd pipelines here and there and kidnapping foreigners. That was the only leverage they had- the foreigners. The FR was still intact. The ECA was still intact. Why do you guys love to exaggerate the impact of militancy in Nigeria? |
Mogidi:Hahahahaha. Militants are wiser than that now. They saw how Asari and co made millions of USD and scampered to other countries to spend their loot. What did they do for the ND? The total amount of militants in Nigeria will not exceed 10k. In one fell swoop the Nigerian military will crush them. Most of the onshore pipelines that militants have access to are even being run by Nigerian companies as the IOCs have shifted deep offshore where Militants cannot penetrate. Asari is blowing hot air and you the fellow ignoramuses are singing false choruses. |
emmykk:GEJ wasted the last 5 years yet you still wanted him. You are a disgrace to the human race. |
vicadex07:Very well-written. Don't mind the fools. It is a Transition committee not his Minister(s) of Petroleum, Finance or Power. It is Barcanista's sort of tomfoolery that should be rendered a crime in Nigeria. |
philfearon:On the contrary, you are the one who only celebrates scorelines and not what you actually watched. If Bayern had beaten PSG 6-1 at the Allianz arena, you would have said they were easy opponents- that's how insular you are. Your posts reek it. Some of us can differentiate between our love for the club and how to manage our expectations. I can prove it. Bring your posts when we had to play Bayern in 2013. I am sure you expected us to beat them 5-1 over both legs like we did in 2009. I am sure because you are making the same exaggerations now and accusing others of doing same. Risible init? |
homesteady:They are not as good as they were last season when they won the UCL but they are still better than Juventus who got outplayed by Monaco in the second leg of their quarter final game. If by some chance Juventus frustrate Real over both games and play penalties that would be a possible way for them to make it through. I wanted Juventus... |
eyoniggar:Word. |
philfearon:No surprises. Pigs don't like pearls. I'd have been surprised if you did. |
philfearon:Nobody is underestimating Barca. On the otherhand you are the one underestimating other teams. If we are to compare our head to head against Real Madrid this season we lost 4-3. Yet the average blaugaruna like you will tell you they expect to beat Madrid over 2 legs in a UCL semi final draw. Ok let us look at Porto and Shaktar the supposed easy opponents that Bayern faced. Surely we would have qualified over both teams, but would we have put 7 goals or 6 goals past each team at the nou camp? The answer is No (and not because we don't have the talent to, but because we have missed a lot of chances in many games- which Bayern haven't). Remember that Bayern went to Rome and put 7 past the Italians as well. Would Barca have done that this year? No. For the same reason as above. So imagine a situation where we gift Bayern the odd 5 chances in any game both home and away. The odds say they would take 2 or 3 of them and we would take only 1 or 2 of ours (even if we outplay them). Please be objective. We want Juve because they do not create as many chances especially in the UCL. And their comparative lack of experience will work in our favor. |
babacha:Well from one level to another in terms of promotions takes 3 years- just like it is with the IOCs (even though they are more reliant on performance than NNPC). So it should not come to you as an aberration that each recruitment will take 3 years seeing that the last set of GTs would be 3 years old this 2015 and therefore due for that promotion. I strongly believe the recruitment process will end this year. I would be gravely surprised if it extends beyond this year. Even when the advert placement came out in 2012, I was certain the recruitment process would be consummated in 2015. Just a hunch. (And yes I know hunches are bad for the back) ![]() |
SomBaby: |
I agree with Ajanlekoko. Bayern look more dangerous this year than they did in Pep's first season. Sure they have their defensive lapses which Barca can exploit, but they take their chances better than any other team in world football at the moment and that should give us some worry or concerns. We have played so well in most of our recent games. But we have conceded easy chances that some teams did not put to bed. If we also consider that direct teams seem to worry us alot then we should be praying for a Juventus. The Sevilla game easily comes to mind and Bayern are Miles better than Sevilla. So Imagine a situation if we play just 2-0 against them at Nou Camp, and have to return to the Allianz arena for the second leg. If they nick in 2 early goals (and they can without playing fancifully) I fear that team confidence will drop and we could suffer more. I don't want a rehash of what happened at the Santiago earlier on in the season. So let us be safe and pray for Juventus. In a final, we can slug it out with anyone. |
SomBaby:Not really. The process has always been 3 years from application to offer letter. It is almost a tradition. You can call "those people you know" and they would tell you. |
PassingShot:Exactly. |
barcanista:You and your penchant for making moot and shallow points. 1. In 2011, you were anti-GEJ, today you are not. Stop convoluting ideas. The leadership of the House wasn't Pro-APC/ACN. Some members like Tambuwal made their decisions post 2012. 2. The whole "host communities funds" was overplayed. Part of the new bill concentrated on areas aiming to disband some of the percentages due to the hosts. Things would have balanced out. If people like you and the so-called tribalised legislators simply studied the bill. 3. Lies. All IOCs want fair ground to compete and make revenue. You cannot just jump to increasing their taxes without first solving the issues why their taxes weren't that high to begin with. It's just commonsense. 4. What a feeble cop-out. I put it to you that you do not even know what the bill encompasses let alone understand what was said there in. |
barcanista:Moot and dumb rhetorics. PDP were the majority party in the NA plus the man at the centre belonged to the same party. He can hold meetings with the party leadership especially the one's in the NA and convince them on the need to pass the bill. David Mark and co would have come in handy. He would have arranged a meeting with the CEOs of the IOCs to try to understand their grouse with the bill and to find common ground where necessary. He should have spoken to certain thinkTanks in Nigeria to see their views on the issues and where tweaks could have been made. For e.g, I understand that no aspect of the bill pushes for Good insurance benefits for Indigenous workers in Indigenous firms. This aspect would certainly benefit Nigerians. Also the aspect of increasing taxation may not make sense seeing that the IOCs were forced to cater to their own security, electricity and yet still give cutthroat bribes to govt officials in the name of racketeering and thus upping the cost of producing crude etc. So GEJ could have created a better working environment for them by dealing with the above before talking about increased taxes. He had a lot of roles to play and no SaTANoid can absolve him of that duty. |
mrmetoo1:The same man who spent Billions of Naira campaigning for the removal of subsidy via adverts, boards, pressure groups even the NA! If they were interested in passing the bill, they would have. The Bill had its own concomitant challenges but discretizing it and discussing with other foreign stakeholders would have fixed the issues. |
It has always been a 3-year span. The 2012 set first applied in 2009, wrote test in 2010, were interviewed 2011 and resumed 2012. In our case we applied 2012, wrote test 2014 so the interviews and offer letter issuance must be this year 2015. They have never put priority on GT recruitment processes and now that they are preparing for a transition, all their focus seems to be geared towards that. Whatever the case my people, don't lose hope. We are actually closer than when we first began. |
anyaekekehinde:The typical glib e-diot. Trying to meander through all his gaffes to settle to who was due the state appropriated 110k or not as if it has anything to do with all the bunkum he was vomiting on this thread. How he got a job offer but decided to work with hypotheticals when discussing the actual figure. How 9.9B +2B became 11.2B. How governor Amaechi didn't employ 13K teachers and the rest of the senseless drivel about absolutely nothing that his puny mind can comprehend. Next time, when your teacher is giving lessons on comprehension, try to listen to her instead of staring at her mammaries. |
Winning123:Hmmm. People should please take note. The poster above me has a point. |
Mogidi:Olodo, Abba was not due for retirement on the premise of age or service years till 2019. There are no laws governing anything. The Head of state can fire any service chief as he deems necessary. |
hansad:So we still have these sort of deluded oafs on NL? |
