@OP nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo |
ok,ok, ok........ Make I grudgingly assume say the policy makes some sense Are these phones going to be made in Nigeria thereby providing jobs for Nigerians? or are they going to enrich China and and the Western brand owners?? |
Do we have up to 10 million farmers in Nigeria?? Are they saying 1 in every 16 Nigerian is a farmer?? These guys are M0R0NS.....

Will you just shut up there? No wonder someone called Nairaland "Nigeria's Online Beer palour." For your information, a comprehensive nation-wide population survey was carried out between 2010 and 2011. I got to know because I worked very closely with the ADPs and the real rural interior farmers themselves when I did my field survey for my just-concluded Masters programme at the University of Ibadan. It will interest you that Ogun state alone had over 200, 000 active rural peasant farmers. I'm not defending spending billions anyhow but let no one come here to spew rub.bish.
Data Source: CIA World fact book .......................................... A) Nigerian population= 170 million B) 0-14 years = 44% = 75 million C) 15 - 64 years = 53% = 90 million D) 65+ = 3% = 5 million E) Urban population = 50% of total population Analysis and assumptions ................................................. F) Potential Working age(those above 14 yrs, even if dem dey sick or don almost die) < (C) + (D) = 95 maillion G) Potential rural population (more likely to be farmers) =(E) X (F) = 47.5 million Conclusions ................................................. -Phones to be bought for 1 in 4.5 rural dwellers -1 in 9.5 people above 14 years are business farmers -1 in 9.5 people above 14yrs old in Nigeria have no phones. Even if they have, the government will give them an extra phone Socialism, moronic corruption, unsustainable investment, or what? .....I dey come, make I think well, well |

youngmega: Nice thread ![]() |
Ishilove: *aloof* If you try to mirror me while you toast me, I shall laugheth you to scorn!Scorn is the price we all have to pay when learning the ropes We soon become perfect in mirroring as we practice |
97) Buy a large mirror to practice none verbal skills Dont be like the Nigerian president GEJ who found himself in office unprepared, and lacks social and leadership skills Start watching yourself practice. You spend money drinking beer and chopping suya. Please also spend money buying a full length mirror. You would need this to actually see the outcomes of your practice of none verbal communication skills. You could also use it in watching/observing your posture, how you walk etc and perfecting them Believe me when I say, that the mirror will teach you loads of stuff that no one else will teach you "What does this have to do with creating wealth?" you might ask An easy and silly reply would be that if you're a girl, you could practice how to have an elegant composure and stride/gait that could attract the platinum ring of a rich bloke If you're a broke a55 guy, the mirror could teach you how to become a master charmer and an accomplished gold digger (AKA giggolo) How's that for an answer? |
peteafrik88: Pls, give an example. It will be appreciated by those that still have travelling to UK in mind.Cant remember the relationships, but please do some research yourself. Google and the internet are your friend .For example, searching for the key words "UK, university, career, Microsoft" brought out this http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/scs/ which is in Warwick university. -You could also do a research by going to the career section of the top 20 UK universities and searching for their relationships with the big employers -You could go to the FTSE or Fortune 100 companies UK career websites and search for their association with specific universities (I faintly recall that Accenture UK recruits MBA's from LBS) -The research should take you roughly 1 month to conclude |
96) Summary Non Verbal Communication/Techniques Some were born as aloof persons, almost anti-social and more of introverts However, with better understanding of none verbal communication, they are now better placed to respond to and intiate socially acceptable stimuli None verbal communication and verbal/oral fluctuations/cues are excellent as leadership and business tools. It makes you more likeable by the right people, and therefore better placed to land that contract Mirroring is an excellent skill when you are being interviewed for that Job. It endears you to the panelists Try using proxemics and mirroring together when toasting that chick. At first, the practice of these techniques will look awkward, but with time it will become second nature |
Peter and Paul sure did make an excellent mark with their chereograpy I however noticed that it was only one of the twin that was doing the power dancing |
95) Proxemics This has to do with space between people having a conversation, amd the effect it has on them From my diagram in post #94)you can see both party trying to reduce the distance between them The space between you and the person that you are engaging with when managed, can be a very powerful tool If you've read Obama's books you would see that he has/had a habit of putting his arms around someone when he his talking with them He even did this to President Bush, when he (Obama) was only a senator without the presidential ambition. Also notice the body language between presidents of powerful countries and those of less powerful countries when they are together The way you arrange the sitting/standing arrangement/positions with that person you are meeting for a business deal could determine the way you stick mentally, and are given that contract Even the touching of someones head/hair has a lot of impact (not the barbers touch) You can observe that space has so much power when you observe two folks who just like animals are primed to fight. Watch their space distance, the flaring of their nostrils, and how when space is evaded they might get violent or subdued These things are so, so subtle. But with time and practice, they would come naturally to you Proxemics utility is a useful tool in networking and persuasion |
94)Mirroring Mirroring is when your body language/movement immitates that of someone you are having a conversation with (ie, just like your reflection in the mirror doing exactly what you are doing) When a boy and girl dig each other, and are toasting themselves in a bar or restaurant, as they continue their conversation, a third party might soon begin to observe that both boy and girl are making similar body movements You can conciously immitate someones body movement, thereby getting the person to be more comfortable with you These are some of the ways you speed up the networking/friendship dating process It works for others, it should work for you As you become an expert in this powerful and persuasive psychological act/process/brikmanship you will soon see yourself first being able to immitate the other person, then getting the other person to immitate you without him/her even noticing (its all very subtle)

log1: Weldone erese. You are really doing a great job. Thanks mate |

@)OP umh..... nice thread, but was getting too 'euro-elitist' and 'date/relationship-centric' in my opinion Me thinks you could view folks profile in NL and invite them to this thread forget about their age and location, think only about what they have to offer intellectually and their 'real' potential for strong mid-time/future networking ...just my opinion |
Tedpgrass: Informative, well presented. You're welcome |
nitrogen: ^^^ Douglas McGregor's theory X and theory Y of motivation? There are flaws alright, but I think the X and Y theories when viewed in a generalistic way is quite on point In the western world, as the economy moves from products/manufacturing to service delivery they tend to emphasise theory Y over X. Industry regulations and legislations also ensure that Theory Y is further explored However, in a country like Nigeria where production/manufacturing/trade is the business of the day, it might be more appropriate to use Theory X for most staff. Wether in Public or private enterprises |
Ishilove: *yawn* Booooring!!!!Get your fine ebony behind outa here |
2) Theory X any Y (Slap or Praise) Some workers are lazy and reluctant to work (theory x) while others are ambitious and are willing to take initiatives (Theory Y) The idea is that for those with the X attributes, you have to micromanage them, and appeal to theire fears. This could take the form of slaps, screams, threats or outright sacks to get them to achieve targets. You've seen workers like this, haven't you? On the other hand, some works with the 'Y' attributes are willing to go the extra mile without being forced to. All you need is to encourage them and communicate openly with them. In the Nigerian work environment, you'd find both types of workers plentiful. Even if you increase salaries for 'X' workers, they will not budge in their poor work ethics. They are however more likely to budge when you threaten to cut their salaries As a manager, it is important that you differentiate between both types of workers and threat them differently Whereas you could go out for drinks with 'Y' workers who are your work subordinates, doing the same with 'X' workers could greatly undermine your authority and effectiveness |
Ishilove: Nope, the real thing!!! There is a life outsiede NL, so if perchance you happen to want to take your rapport with your e-crush to the real world, then you should be able to handle the attendant ramifications.Ooooo Makes sense now |
^^ as in, I can't understand what the USP is in screwing ya-selves here when u've been doing it in the literature section Or perhaps, the Entertainment section does not need any artistic merits, '-pants down => nack straight' while y'all need to be Romeo-tic while in the Literature section ...just musing |
Both. Now get out
Papa, One last question before I scram what is really going on here? Is it like those role plays/acts in the literature section?? |
birdman: Apparently I wasnt the only one thinking about that. I wonder what the success rate for medical tourism to india is. From celebrity news, it doesnt look that good.I hear more about deaths after treatment in india than actual recuperation |
