that the guy is a meat seller should not be the issue the issue is that he lied in too many fronts, especiaally continuing with the lies when the OP was getting emotionally attached to him please let go of the 'meat seller' bit. we've all been in unfortunate circumtances, Even if not you, there is a large percentage that our lineage had meat sellers, slaves, farmers, peasents etc |
Bidam: @Op..i quite understand your point about the church. The church was always meant to be a place of spiritual learning where the people of God receive training and are eventually allowed and expected to fulfill their personal ministries in the market place and through various secular activities. Somewhere along the way we adopted an ineffective plan, which places all ministry in the hands of a singular man. The "pastor" along with a staff of "spiritual specialists" is then expected to be the teacher, encourager, counselor and soul-winner while the saints play a rather sterile supporting role by faithfully offering their time, talent and treasure to various programs outlined by church leadership.Make i tok wetin Jesus tok when he was before pilate: "its you that said it" |

iiiyyyk: Broda, u are toooo much.Bless u 2 |
omosexy1: Well done esere for pointing out clearly the reality of religion. It is good you experienced them first hand and now you can never be confused or deceived again. I almost gave up attending the university because of religion back when I was in the university (thank God I did not). True salvation is not experienced by sitting down on a sunday sermon and listening to your so called MOG. You have to experience it, you have to feel it, only then would you truly be saved. Not by repetition of some crammed words of a MOG. Look deep into yourself, the very answer you seek is there. Do not look at your MOG, he cannot save you because he is even yet to save himself. Our Goal to know God can truly be answered, for when the student is ready, the master appears. These things highlighted are scary, because something like that has happened to me too I guess its easy for people who have never really stepped in that place and recovered to blab Indeed you are right: when the student is ready, he sits at the feet of the master |
ow11: Why do you think your views is not another dogma? Why would your counsel alone teach another pastor to avoid the known folly you have identified and not probably fall into another you haven't seen or thought to exist?I agree totally with u, but i guess that is just the way life is you exchange an older wine skin for a newer one. The new wine skin soon becomes old with time. And with you ageing, you become attached to it and cant let go Someone else then has to exchange your old wine skin for a newer one, and on and on it goes, from glory to glory I guess the greatest challenge is when everyone is comfortable with the old wine skin. |
shawn5ng: Esere ever since have been coming to NL I only read but no comment but ur piece is second to none. @Op i don forget where I read am o, but here we go...... Research shows that folks tend to be attracted to people who look like them I guess that is one of the resons why we have some distinct races as i look u, and u resemble me, i go give u bele. our pikin go look for person wen resemble am, giv am belle and befor u know it, we become a community/race having distinct handsome features like mine giving ourselves belle |
The owl (abi na winch) cried in the night and the baby died in the morning (This is a popular nigerian saying) as africans, we can therefore say confidently even if we are wrong that na di winch kill the baby I love politics, but I have tried hard to avoid the political section in NL with some of its low brained tribal warriors who bark ethnic bile at the slightest issue Since the reorganisation of the MOD's in the political section after the infamous, hate infested, and half sensibly managed "NL hall of shame for 2012" I have noticed that more cerebral topics from the political section have been making front page I know that someone was nominated as a MOD, and someone else walked. Probably, this was the initiative needed to inject sanity into the political section I never fully believed in ethnic/racial balancing, But now, I am begining to see its sensibility in the absense of folks who can emphathise with diversity (sad isn't it?) The winch cried in the night The political section is being clened up even now as we speak Kudos to the Winch, whatever or who ever it/he/she/they is |
AjanleKoko: Some of that actually happens. Check Sao Tome, and Gambia. It's just that the masses don't really know or care, and who blames them?I know particularly of SaoTome which was cornered by Obasanjo's crony Me thinks it should be expanded further, not only to enrich one or two men, but actually to provide jobs for lots of Nigerian graduates as expatriates We no go dey help people fight their war for nothing In fact ehn, the West should pray that I don't become Nigerian president or core strategist |
Ok, go on and fight but what's in it for Nigeria? don't tell me that its simply to weaken Boko Haram (Libya provides a crucial link thanks to NATO) dont tell me its simply to help our brother nation (remember South Africa's ingratitude) After fighting Mali's war, we have to station our troops permanently there, and influence their government We need to sell made in Nigeria Innoson cars to them; they need to buy our Chivita and Dangote juice; our own glo telecom needs to be given government backed monopoly there We need to ensure that the powers of their central bank stops being domiciled in France, but intstead is domiciled in one of our banks The loot of their leaders must not go to Swiss or French banks. They should send their loot to Zenith bank we need to ensure that we send our own university graduates as expatriates to construct roads in Mali Our intellectuals need to be given consultancy work in their development agencies The kids of their top shots need to school in our universities the parents should be directed to our own Calaber for their resort Their top shots need to made to buy holiday homes in Nigeria Their young girls need to fall over for our men and get impregnated sharp sharp (as some of our ghirls fall over for oyibo) Na so countries dey take rich .....This is the way the West does it, and it is marvelous in my sight |
aniffy4eva: Well done esere826!From your previous posts on NL, I actually noticed this. Kudos Infact, i owe you crate/carton of whatever you drink (even if na FantaI drink gold bars so, you'll have to think of buying me a carton of those ![]() |
AjanleKoko: ^^Agree completely. I read and still read motivational books. 1) However, I believe that they should come with a caveat on the 1st page (much like those bank correspondence)explaining that they are not a recipe. This should help young impressionable folks in learning on time that such books are not straight jacket rules to success 2) I also realise that some authors have a lot to give in their first books, however the subsequent ones many times lacks soul. They are more often a strategy to milk more money from the success of the earlier books (i'd do the same). For example, "The rules of work" by richard templer was an original. It was him letting out his deep thoughts. I find his subsequent book such as "The rule of life"; "the rules of parenting" etc less deep, and more of riding on the success of the first book and milking readers for cash No hatz to that, but it is not impossible that someone after reading Richard's first book and actually making career headway with the nuggets, goes ahead to apply nuggets from his other books which are (IMO) shallow. |
Ishilove:Thanks for your very insightful comments |
100) Doing things differently I think that in everything, we should ensure that our work is actually producing results. If it is not, it is important we pause for a while and ask ourselves "what can I do differently to get better results?" I say this with someone in mind. He his crawling in age, but continues to do the same thing over and over again with the same dismall results He reads motivational books and always tells me not to worry (maybe that's why i hate motivational books and I am cautious with teachings from just any pastor) Think carefully about these question I am about to ask. My answers to the questions took me out of a pit that I was digging for myself: -What use would it be to you if you are poor till you are 90 years old, then become rich and die at age 95 years old? Could it not have been better? -What use will it be if as a girl, you are single till you are 65 (waiting for the chosen one), then have a child at 70 (after praying for 5 yrs); then die at 80 (probably married to a wife beater) Could it have been better? Think very carefully about these questions. Bottom line is, can things be done differently to acheive better results? |
99) The gap between work and results I feel it is important that we channel our work to producing results I have witnessed projects where some team members really work hard, but are not able to get results -no be winch I have also seen students study hard and flop seriously during exams -no be winch I have seen folks pray ceaselessly and not getting the result of their prayers (at least not while I was around them) -no be winch. Why is this? I remember in my teenage days, I had a friend who did SSCE repeatedly and kept on failing. He was a hard reader. I once asked him if he had the WAEC sylable, and he said "No"> I told him where to get it from, and he bought it Armed with the WAEC sylable, and past question papers, he knew where to concentrate his efforts on, and came out pretty well in his exams In projects, I have seen folks that are not able to connect the end point from where they are They therefore work hard on th wrong things, getting flustered and upset, especially when their work is not appreciated Its also same with prayers. Sometimes, what you need to get your wife pregnant might actually be concentrating on nacking her instead of praying 24/7 about it Sometimes, what you need to get that girl to date you and marry you might be less prayer and more grooming and sharpening up your toasting skills |
@ishi you killed him *hurries to check newspaper clippings on death of politicians in hotel rooms* |
naptu2: [size=4pt]If you want to know what's happening read the thread from the beginning again (flash forward).[size=3pt]and you honestly think that God will not punish you and ishilove for all this suspense that readers are being put through abi? we should go and reread the thread from the beigning abi?
