since 2014.
Your duration for being in Christ is not a criteria for soundness in doctrine.
you're right.
However time helps in giving you the latitude of putting doctrines to the test and gathering information to support or disprove doctrines
For example, someone who has never been a christian and got baptised in HIM only two days ago will know little to nothing about the history of the church, and how some doctrines that are coming forth, actually came 100's of years ago and caused problems to the congregations and made the church leaders evil dictators

with whose authourity did Noah curse?
I don't recall that the bible said anything about Noah cursing under the authority of God. Did you read something like that?

Then what happened to his Sister?
You know the story
uhmm,,... now this is the kind of bible fear that works on people and kills them. This is a big topic on its own
.
However, you missed my point. I might also need a whole new thread to say the story of what happened . ie the entire scenario that played out

Go and read 2samuel 1 and 2.
This is still another long story. The essence of my point is that David made personal choices and pronouncements. The mistake some make is that when they read the Bible they always assume that every word spoken, even by individuals was spoken by God. So for example, when David said this: “Why weren’t you afraid to lift your hand to destroy the Lord’s anointed" ... it is is assumed that God was the one who spoke these words. ..big mistake

i never used the word MOG ,i used the word Spiritual leaders.
you did use it. Just copy and paste this "TURN to speak against the MOG" in search, you'll find that you used it.
But no worries. We'll let that pass

Spiritual leaders are bound to err.
They are men of like passions as you and I.
I agree very much
For me, the challenge is when you err and then you turn am to new church tradition and even turn the scripture on its head to support your erring. Well, I guess that is part of the erring process. The only problem is with the little ones that take the erring as a new doctrine and mess themselves up. ...na dis wan dey pain me.

Speaking against will mean to insult ....
I agree this should not be done to anyone at all whether a leader or follower. (...i am using the Nigerian definition of insult here)

.....or dishonor them because of their mistakes.
what does dishonor mean?
For example, i have learnt that Yorubas concept of honour is different from mine.
Can you give me examples of dishonour, thanks

.....
You can see the case of Noah,
Noah was the man God used to save
humanity from extinction.

....etc
interesting examples alright -out of curiosity, how long have you been in Christ?

From my experience,
the bible can kill one, and also make one alive
I really don't know where to start from to break some of these things to you.
For example as starters,
1) Noah's son was cursed by Noah, and not by God. Remember that Lot did not curse his daughters for sleeping with him
2) Moses was spoken against by Aaron and his sister because of jealousy or because of his 'black' wife. This is a long story
3) David owed Saul everything, in as much as Saul turned against him later. There was no requirement for him to be loyal to Saul.

what do you mean by speaking against a MOG? [ ...break it down to its bits
First ask what exactly is a MOG?
Are you a MOG?, who are the MOGs?
What constitutes 'Speaking against'? For example, asking this MOG a question, is it speaking against?, saying you don't agree, is it speaking against? etc
Religion / Re: When Our Spiritual Leaders Err/backslide by esere826: 8:52pm On Sep 12, 2015
let me help dissect your points
sportsmaster:
\
1)Pray for them : - this is the most important and best thing to do,pray for them.
Ok

2)Believe the best about them.
Does believing someone's best change his worst. For example, notorious robbers can also be generous folks. So what exactly does this point mean?

3)Focus on their strengths and you will see their weakness disappear.
Not really. I believe I know what you're trying to say, but I doubt you've properly digested the fullness of this physiologically powerful concept.
..this is another topic for another day

4)speak postively about them.
fair enough

5)Never, I repeat Never criticise them in Public or in the midst people or amongst yourselves in churches or anywhere.
why not? Is it because they told you so and you believe them. Your dad might have likewise told you same thing never to challenge him.

6)Never criticise/ condemn them on Social media.
Why not?

7)Talk to other Spiritual leaders about the Particular Pastor/leader.
Why? where does this suggestion come from? Have you thought through this

coolHonour them.
Is honor earned or demanded?

Sorry, I'l take my leave now
midway through responding to your suggestions .. I saw some rooky gaps
I realised that although you've got a good heart
there is some more information that you would need to absorb and consequently process with the passing of time
...stay blessed

I posted a solution to this in The OP.
Read the steps i wrote there.

that is no solution
that is a vestige of theocracy

Europe was once there you know, and if anything it is argued that it killed the church worldwide and in Europe when folks got fed up

One thing we should know is this,
the more we criticize Spiritual leaders especially on the Internet
,the harder it is for the Gospel to spread.

Because People will have wrong impressions about the preacher which will result to obstacle for the Gospel.
......

Interesting ideas
but wait a minute, were do we draw the line?

an MOG rapes a little girl, and his assembly believes he did no wrong,
should the rest of us shut up or simply report him to other leaders and not the cops,
...leaders who probably have worse skeletons in their cupboards

when we keep quiet won't other leaders and assembly members begin to actually do the same thing thinking it is not wrong
what happens to this little girl who everyone turns their back on and despise so that the MOG is spared and the gospel has no obstacle?

..just thinking out loud, and I really dont want to go quoting scriptures because it would be a torrent if I do so

Hello friends, 1st of all, I don't want you to see me as a man that involves third party in his marrital life/affair, am not that kind of man, in fact a lot of things go on that I rather let it stay in my home for us to sort or face together than involving family or friends but this challenge is really heavy for me to bear.

I don't really know what else to preach to her that I don't like her behavior anytime am broke ,for me it's a total turn off because it always makes me feel like am not being appreciated even with all my efforts to make us happy.

My wife nag anytime am broke or notice my pay ain't coming soon, all she does is play blame game like telling me all sort of story, like she never eat since last year, like she's not happy, that the marriage is hell because of just few days broke, and the few days broke doesn't mean no food for us, the few days broke doesn't mean I won't raise money to fuel generator talk less of some more important bills. I am just 10 months old in this marriage, please, real men in the house kindly advice me on what to do, if am the one being wrong here because I don't understand why she's always like that.

...guy
any time you have money, make sure you do a whole lot of nagging too
the trick is that in some future discussions, she'll complain that you nag when you have money, while you'll complain that she nags when you have none. And both of you will realise that it is true ooo and laugh about it (....although u already knew)

It will tone down her 'nagg-iness' in the future anytime she remembers the discussions

however, if in your moment of mushiness, you make the mistake of telling her that you set her up
na you know....
just like Delilah did with Samson, your locks will be cut off

Uummh! I like a good Christian intellectual discussion any day anytime, spiced with a little gossip too
So though I feel a little bit shy carrying someones matter on my head, but ehmmm, ehmm, he's a superstar
so yan him matter I must grin

For this clip . I don't agree with him in most of the things he's said.
Just like I tried to make you see in your other thread, that the bible talked only about men of God, doesn't mean that the bible has ceased to speak about 'women of God'. Just like the bible does not speak of planets Venus and Saturn either

The word of God is alive, and not stuck in the past.
Even the book of revelation makes no mention of the bible, instead it speaks about books and the book of life. Now, this can be construed to mean that this book lives and grows. It has our stories written in them.

Also,it is said that those who believed were given the power to become son's of God. Daughters were not mentioned here.
If we want to be literal, then it means that even the ladies are considered son's of God. So, likewise a man of God can very well be a woman in this dispensation.

The bible actually doesn't talk much about "man of God" as a title, especially a God given one. I stand to be corrected.

In my opinion, all he needs to do his to go spend a month with his wife and shag her good, and I'm confident that she will forgive him for at least 2 years...no need for all this grammar and spirito tinz

Yes, the kingdom is important, but like God told Elijah, I have got 7000 that have not bowed their knees to Baal. So no need to worry that the kingdom work will not continue.

Here are some points
- Being the wife or husband of a scientist doesn't make you one ...agreed
- One or two things Oyaks said in that video can be busted if in a 2 way communication. ...This is the danger of listening only to oneself, you soon become an island unto yourself

- Anita helped create all of this. Its like designing a nuclear bomb and complaining if its thrown in your backyard ..although I cant hear her complaining
- We all have our loyalists many of who would close their eyes to our faults. Oyaks has is in the many, and so does Anita ..she'll be strengthened by them and by God
- From revelations so far, the real accusation was not really adultery, but more of abandonment
- Oyaks was built with a p.enis, and An.ita with a va.gina. So in a case of 'abandonment' its only natural that there would be some sexual driven frustration and suspicions. ..maybe na swhy Oyaks encourage us to dey masturbate sef grin ...just joking

-As women get more 'modern' demanding more and men remain in the past, not wanting to give more, so will the tendencies for divorce increase. You only need to listen to Oyaks to realise that despite him being a fine rich boy ehmm em,, he is like the "ancient of days"

- I hate media sensationalism and discussions chaperoned by simple minded folks.
This kind of sensationalism puts me off the current pro APC publicity machinery.
It tends to wrap too much fiction around little truths in order to gain pecuniary and psychological advantages.
..I am a christian and so will definitely have some bias towards my faith (not the touch-not-my-prophet type). I don't feel comfortable dragging 'visible christians' into the mud based on road side stories which may have only 5% truths in them.

I believe you can do better than that. Was it not you that was praising a popular 'MOG' for his 'PC' work on his gay stance?

You missed the point
let me explain

If I ask a question
"what does the bible say about goats?" or I ask you "why are you a goat?"

Well, the bible has little to say about goats, and you would immediately take a defensive stance and call me a cow or something.

So once more, I suggest you look for some other neutral phrase to use in starting off your inquiry.
No worries, you can then throw in the "PC", "hypocrite" etc kind of stuff somewhere towards the middle of the thread
..just my suggestion

probably because we've seen loved ones sucked-in, parroting like robots, and cut off from us,

I guess Anita just woke up to the fact that God's love and and his blessings towards us is not precedent on pastors
I also feel her pain, that as a fine chick you marry someone that you have to struggle to differentiate between when to call him pastor vs when to call him darling... what happens in the passion of the bedroom angry ? .......narcissism
She's made her choice, and this should be respected

..Olaa we are all filled up with mistakes, its part of what makes life colourful
Chris will make mistakes, Anita will, Kumuyi will, I will, and so will you as you just did
All of this does not stop our fellowship with Christ, and that is why for more than 2OOO years (even starting from the apostles) we've had lots of churches pointing fingers at one another while thinking that they are they chosen ones

I came across this video on one of TED talks clips and this guy's point of view about our famous "underdog" story as written in the bible is quite intriguing. BUT was David really the underdog?

PERFECT!!
Me thinks there is still some missing bits

When David asked to fight Goliath, Saul would have been extremely silly to entrust his entire army and probably kingdom in the hands of a little boy.
I suspect that David first had to explain to him that he was extremely skilled with the sling (which was equivalent to a gun)
His brothers would have confirmed to Saul
And Saul would have tested David by giving him some targets to hit which he did successfully

Saul offered David his armour for defence in case Goliath threw his Javeline at him

For fun, let's do a little mental exercise to weigh the pastor's morality.......

if someone had come to her church completely naked -whether man or woman
would pastor have boldly posted the pictures of the person's dangling bits on facebook?

If "NO", then why?
if pastor can post this clothed bum picture on facebook without a sense that she is playing with sin,
but would feel sinful if she pastes a na.ked attempted-church-attendee's picture on facebook.
.....then we can infer that this clothed bum is not as bad as she thinks it is

You sound like the Pharisees who feel superior to others who they deem inferior and dirty.
Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread(Matthew 15:2)

The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican(Luke 18:2).
actual with regards to homosexuality
i think you sound more like the pharisee quoted ..my opinion sha

anyways, it comes back to the same point.. let those of us sinful 'pharisees' that want to worship God in aircondition go join to those with like minds not minding others
while the 'saints' who prefer 'self infliction', go ahead to worship with their kind and throw jabs at us the 'pharisees'
