Nicklybrown77:Cute young man He would make more money from being a gigolo or a model no need for him to carry gun .....it is not his calling |
frosbel2:Noo Frosbel,“You are mistaken because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God . In the resurrection, people will neither marry nor be given in marriage. Instead, they will be like the angels in heaven" (Matthew 22: 29) I admire your intelligent question However, it appears to me that you were largely misled in knowledge as most christians are (same with me) Why not ask God to answer you questions -He will in snippets. I also had this issue you just raised and I asked Him. Here is a summary of what happens: As a human, you are not an absolute. You only work according to your programming The thing that excites humans is not what excites other beings. A goat does not dance to music, nether does it stare lustfully at a beautiful girl -that is not its programming Different beings have been given different programming When you get to heaven you programing will change, hence Jesus talks about the "power of God" in the verse above Your programming will make the things of heaven so beautiful that you cannot even imagine Your senses or "excitement" are nothing even on earth without your programming some people even on earth dont feel pain because a disease has killed that programming Some cant smel all the good or bad stuff a child is not concerned about sex when the programmed juices have not kicked in. Hope you get it |

Like I said about Petra1 recently, he has indeed tried by bringing in some "logic" Thanks to him, For the first time in my many years as a christian, I have seen new points of view in the pro-tithe argument Previously all i saw from both the masters and minions were repetitions of Malachi, and at best a mention that tithing was before the law. yeah, I do not believe in or should I say, see from the bible, tithing as-is presently trumpeted However, there is no doubt that Money is needed and if the church decides it is by "modern tithing", so be it, -no need trying to use Malachi to blackmail people. In the first break out of the church, without any reference to the "old testament" ("new testament "did not even exist then) the church decided to sell all they had and bring the proceeds into the church -ie, they created their own model of Church support Annaias and Sapphira didnt need to be a part of that community, and even if they were, they could have just been floor member and hold on to their money, but no -they lied and were struck dead Now I do not say this to scare anyone No, I say it for us to understand that most "communities" including a church can decide on a model for raising money. -no need trying to force scripture on top. A church can decide that its official members pay 10%, or less or more of their earnings and actually go as far as defining exactly what that 10% should mean. For example it can say that after the parents have "tithed" and then shared money to the kids, whether the kids should also "tithe" or not. (-this would save us from referring to the bible to find out hwether it is beer drinking or grains) the church is free to bless anyone who brings in this "tithe" , either spiritually or by granting some priviledges such as performing marriage rights afterall, it is written that: "whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." ...and if sadly the church worker decides to lie about this "tithe" which they were not forced to partake in just like Ananias did, the church can choose its sanction. |
Ishilove: indeed, indeed. |
This whole tithing vs anti-tithing thing is something that in my opinion should be discussed solely amongst only christians. - Not needing the retort to gutter-y insults The practice or non-conformity is amongst christians and no one else. I see no need to include or respond to unbelievers in support of any side of the debate. In the house of Christ, we have enough people with spiritual and brain power to properly handle the bible debates and societal impacts The only time unbelievers need be involved in our matter is when there there is a strong overlap with the wider society such as tax paying, suspected fraud, need for audit, law breaking, threat to government and society etc. Paul and Barnabas argued, so did Peter and Paul, and Paul and so many others -all were christians with different persuasions Even Emperor Constantine when wading into christian arguments at the council of Nicea, did so as a christian, albeit a "baby" one. ..We must remember that no matter how saintly or tainted we are we are not baptized into our MOG's or personal revelations,... no we are all baptized into one Jesus, one father, one Spirit. and should respect that in our arguments. As for me, I am happy that Christians are beginning to think and ask questions again I am not a tither, neither am I less blessed than those that tithe I tried it and was bugged by endless guilt -maybe because of the way pastors presented the message to me compared to what i saw when i read the bible. The topic of tithing is one thing the Holy Spirit as neither "told" me Yes or No about (although I am made aware that Jesus mission does need lots of money). My guess is that many of us have also received heavenly silence on that topic. So I believe its left for the different sides to enlighten us |
martinfischer:Did God give you any instructions? I dont believe that God can fail. However, our knowledge and info about God can fail because it was wrong in the first place. Aethists do business and succeed using strategies.- It sometimes fails. If you even keenly observe pastors that are successful, you notice that they have strategies -it sometimes fails too. When you pray to God, try to open your mind to strategies that could flood in from anywhere. Even some of those strategies might not always work, but the sum total would be that your success (not neccesarily that one business) will grow Even this your loss will end up summing up into your success growth |
petra1: MuttleyLaff:Freeze made is point and welcomed debates. Fair enough One can choose to either ignore him or actually debate the idea with some biblical "logic" What I've found amusing is that a couple of senior christians who i respect have jumped in and used emotions as a tool in such a "debate". For example, one of the big MOG's dismissed and rebuked Freeze for mentioning beer in relation to tithe. However, this was so off the context in which Freez spoke. Many bible translations do have that verse of the bible mentioning strong drink. (that he doesnt agree with it does not mean that it does not exist) Another MOG jumped on the bandwagon and was busy defending the 1st MOG based on emotions with barely any biblical logic. This is same way the catholic church used to behave in ages past. Their leadership just said anything (even outside of the bible) and expected everyone to fall into line. Petra1 tried (I'm not saying he's right or wrong) I say so because he's a pastor and could have taken the easier route of ignoring or just going straight to Malachi and threatening its curse for anyone who disagrees with his tithing view -people are scared of this. He didnt. Instead he has attempted to trace the genesis of tithing, and to distinguish different types. I might not completely agree with him, but I appreciate that he is enriching the discussion. As it is written. ..... Study to show yourself approved |
Good OP petra1 I might not completely agree with you, but you did show yourself capable of applying some objective reasoning |
i dont think 2face as ever denied any of these allegations What is needed is a legal settlement Use a big name chamber like Festus Keyamo etc 2 face pays off enough for blackface to never mention it again. It is painful, but unfortunately, in Nigeria, intellectual property theft is not frowned upon |
Explorers:Racist? I dont think so. It sounds more like she has learnt the nIgerian yabis humour and is enjoying it. It actually sounds like she sees the whole experience as fun and that she fancies the Nigeria guys because of their tools ...however, it is unprofessional |
MichaelSokoto:dude you are concentrating on the wrong thing The man Kanu is consistent in speaking against what he sees as the North's determination to control Nigeria ...its not like i care about him If tommorrow an igbo man is president and kanu thinks a nothern cabal is intimidating the president ..his protest my change from biafa sessesion to protest for the expulsion of the core north from Nigeria just like Gideon Orkar suggested. Learn the art of reading the underlying motivations of people and institutions |
pimper24:All your friend needs to do is to contact the MD and ask if he is aware that he's been fired and no reason given to him. No need to beg. |
risingrainboll:Get someone he respects ( maybe a mentor if you find one here) to talk him out of this habit or let the person make him understand that it is a favour that he shouldnt take for granted |
Martinez19:Dude, I'm not interested in being probed nor turning what i'll tell you into some atheistic battle in ridicule. I wont speak after this and please, feel free to dismiss me as an unreliable witness. Yes, just as you've said, I suspect that many christians surmise their concience (which even aethists also have) as the voice of God. However, I have audibly heard God twice -the first time i was sick, so i thought i was hallucinating -You on your part can chalk it up to my sickness, that's scientifically logical. The second time I heard him clearly, there was no room to doubt -feel free to say my mind was playing tricks on me, but i definitely heard something and i was fully awake. As per thoughts being addressed as the voice of God, i tend to be skeptical because everyone can call their thoughts the voice of God hence leading to conflicting ideologies. However, there was this one time that a "thought" dropped into my thoughts. It was a money which was not a round figure. It hurt me to do what this "thought" wanted but when I did, the recipient smiled and said the money was an exact figure for something which I'll keep private and also avoid exaggeration about. Interestingly I still dont refer to that "thought" as God speaking to me (maybe later I'll start doing so). I just refer to it as sensing something from God, because it was not a voice at all, it just dropped in. |
Paulipopor:Dude, you still don't get it, do you It's simple English i wrote in, not some vernacular. And because you chose to engage in an ego fight, you persist in misinformation as is clear in your writting. I'll leave you with Proverbs 15: 32 "He who refuses correction despises his own soul, but he who listens to reproof gets understanding" |
"the reason your faith no longer works" ?? That is not a reasonable sentence construction. |It's like saying "the reason your jump no longer jumps" Faith works. If its not working, then its no faith in the first place. You'r probably trying to say .... "the reason your hope no longer works" or ... "the reason your hope no longer leads to faith". |
NwaAmaikpe:Please be better informed. Bode George is not considered an ex convict http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/12/supreme-court-discharges-pdp-chieftain-bode-george-corruption-conviction/ |
petra1:in a sense, this is technically wrong, you only loose what you have. For example £100 in your pocket falls off or his stolen -this is a loss because you actually tangibly had it. A better way to express your thoughts might be this: If you do then you reap the individual blessing they carry. But if you don't you simply don't access the blessing they carry ...words carry a lot of expressive weight mate |
peterdrury:Reusing those previous wraps and band might be quite unhygienic you know |
DeadWrong:Dude what exactly are you saying? You're mixing two unrelated events here. Granted that just as you highlighted, a large number of Niger Delta youths in host communities are nuisance to development, you miss the mark. That a HQ is relocated does not mean that Shell's operational staff will not remain on ground in communities to continue with business as usual. The HQ is were management/administrative staff work in. They have little or no interaction with the host communities were oil is actually drilled. I suspect that Shell's HQ major cost grouse in this instance would be on things like: 1) money spent on security for its top management staff 2) Regular kidnap of its HQ staff 3) Fear of kidnap by its HQ staff 4) Ill-defined levies beyond statutory tax extracted by both PH formal and informal orgs from both Shell HQ as an organisation, and its members of staff as individuals. 5) Costly inconvenience of living in a location (PH) that is far away from a federal or international hub such as Abuja and Lagos. So Shell HQ leaves the bad, bad Niger Delta and moves to the good, good Lagos right, so its top staff can easily travel home to their south west abodes during the weekends abi ? But leaves its actual money extracting operation in this bad, bad ND location ...LOL They should consider moving their HQ to Sokoto in the North which is quite peaceful or Asaba in Delta state or many other equally peaceful states were they wont be kidnapped naw. In this our present interconnected world, they could even go as far as relocating their Nigerian HQ to neigbouring cameroon or peaceful Ghane. I hope you guys will similarly support any of these other options as much as you salivate with eloquence of pro-and-con logic at the thought that Shell's intended next HQ destination is the Lagos/Ogun axis. |
Ishilove:missed you too deariee i dey find money ooo .. |
Ishilove: You awakened me from my rest, the way Prophet Samuel was awakened by Saul's sorceress |
CoolFreeday:A better argument would be "why is there a high table for anyone in the first place?" As long as a high table exists, it means there is a preference given to the voice of those sitting on it. Consequently his request about his people will not be valued by leadership Got it now? |

asunnu:He is ambitious for money. Simply get him some calculated risk management books and book him into risk management seminars. On your part, ensure you extract as much money from him as possible, then save or invest it in risk free ventures. If by happenstance things terribly bad happen to his fortunes, you'll then be able to step in |
nameerfhtennek:She crossed the line mate. Even if you forgive her, as long as she does not understand that this was a no no, she'll do it again. At this point, you probably should call a familly meeting with her folks, not yours. Make them understand that you'll inform you family if this happens again. Forget about the other bits of the misyarn that both of you did. Concentrate on the spitting part. Her family will help your reset her back to the line |
IVORY2009:The prince of the SW probably chose PMB for three reasons 1) PMB unaided had consistently polled millions of votes from the core north -adding this to the SW votes would give a winning edge 2) there was a strong chance that your jagaban would be picked as the VP 3) PMB being an old man has a relatively larger probability of visiting the ancestors than other younger aspirants. This would have paved way for the VP to mount the throne just like Jonathan did. I wish them and Nigeria well |

atheist don't think good thoughts too?
