......I was delighted,we talked at length and I was told my work days were Mondays to saturday, with 8-7pm work time for a salary if 25,000naira.I am a graduate,I don't seem to understand why the pay has to be so poor, thereby making the job seem like slavery.I want to give my best,I want to add value,I want to be supportive to this firm but I am not motivated by the pay.I can't be working yet be hungry, worse still as head of admin for 25,000......
If the salary is less than than your expense, then you shouldn't take it.

If it is more you could suggest to the company that considering that you would be investing your whole life into the company, you are interested in profit sharing after your basic has been paid.
BusinessRe: Scammed By A Nigerian Friend In The US by esere826: 11:07am On Sep 03, 2016
solidhomes:
I did a job for someone in the US and gave a friend's US account to receive the money with the plan of opening a domiciliary account here and asking him to transfer the money to it. Over time, the money got to some thousands of dollars with him. I eventually opened the account and sent the details to him so he could help me transfer it. He didn't respond and when I called him he didn't answer the call. I called him several times after that, no response. I sent mails to him, no response. I tried to contact him on Facebook and found out he had deactivated his account. It's been like 6 weeks now and the only response to all the messages I sent to him is that even if I report the matter to the police, there is nothing they can do because it is a civil case and he will go ahead to declare bankruptcy and all he owns in the US is a TV which costs about $300.

I have all necessary details about him but I need to know the right way to go about this. I can push it to a level where he will face some charges due to his travel and work history in the US and may even lose so much but that may not eventually bring back my money.

Please, dear people, what do you suggest I do?
he didnt pay you for services (probably IT related) you rendered to him
this is technically different from him collecting hard cash from you and refusing to pay back.

There is really nothing much you can legally do to him if he his bankrupt
Cut your losses

This is normal in the business world and should teach you some fine lessons

1, the young man made a public defense of his mum to counter the public attack of the dad
2, the young man although 'rightly' angry ought not to have used words such as mad and bastard. it doesnt tell well of his upbringing

3, the young man informed his dad alright, but offering tickets to his dad (although gracious) for burial almost like a visitor in such a strained relationship with complexities was punching too far above his weight. His elders from both side of the families should be the ones leading burial arrangements, while he supports from the side.

4, Legal laws trump customary laws. Did the boy being of legal age have a will that states he be buried in his mums land? if yes, and the mothers land accepts it, then case closed. The law has no time for emotions.

5, If there are no overriding legal laws for or against, then customary laws come into play

6, Whose customary law? Do the customary laws of both families agree on this issue? If yes, then they follow its laid down procedure, whatever it may be.

7, If the customary laws do not agree, then both families will need to come to an amicable compromise.

8, I think that is what the father referred to when he talked of returning bride price. In his culture it symbolises the severance of a relationship from its root.

9, As part of the possible resolution, just as someone suggested, Stella can also claim that the child does not belong to the man. The man can also disown his dead and living sons from Stella, and completely cut of any blood links.

I have Excel sheet from headquarters with 10 columns ( heading: car no, date of service, km, part no, fuel level, etc) with up to 3000 rows. I do receive this report with the same no of columns from different regions. I need to collate these reports into the main sheet. is there a way I can add the columns from the regional sheet to the main sheet. I know vlookup but it only adds one column at a time.

Thank you.
as far as the columns are in the same order, the best approach is to copy and paste into the master

Kudos on your post. I think you actually concluded your conversion story in your 1st thread. I suspect this thread only gives meat to your arguments.

You were once a christian, so I am sure you'd understand the feeling of those of us that will try to shut you up, insult you, and condemn you to hell.

Interestingly, even some of the apostles if they were around, might do the same. Its human nature and hardly peculiar to christians.

However, lets assume that Jesus actually was what he was made out to be (I believe he was, and let's not bother about the concept of God at this point).. I am convinced that he would not have condemned you, then and even now. In fact, I suspect that he would have rebuked the christian hawks circling you right now

..he probably would have with a smile told you "come"

You have experienced the fire of logic, which as burnt and is still burning away illogicals from where they were enthroned in your innermost recess. If for any reason you get into the faith again, it would be as a finer you without the frivolity of absurdities.

Till then, stay blessed beloved of Christ

You have nothing to fear. You can always fall back as a lecturer overseas. Why not go directly for a phd instead of masters.

The only reason schools might not be interested in your application is because they keep seeing it every year, otherwise experience that you have is a big plus in admission
Christianity EtcRe: From Pastor To Atheist: Why I Will Never Be A Christian Again by esere826: 7:43pm On May 01, 2016
Hardmirror. Twas a great post.
I also had burning and disturbing desire to save people from hell. It started with if I dont preach, I'm guilty if they go to hell.

I soon overcame that after overcoming fear of God and me burning in hell.
Next, I overcame the fear of people going to hell in th r first place. This came about by meditating on the life of Jesus. As powerful as he was he didnt levitate to the hinderlands of africa to preach the gospel with urgency.

I'm still very much a jesus beliver with a desire to spread the gospel. However, I realise that my initial belifs were built on extremely faulty and illogical foundations. I continue my walk with God, peeling off lots of error that were thaught to me by christian tradition, some of which are as old as christianity itself.

Christianity EtcRe: Power To Forgive Sin: Is Pst Chris Agreeing With The Catholics? by esere826: 12:20pm On Apr 05, 2016
Yes, "protestants" generally disagree that man cannot forgive sins. However, I disagree. Like you rightly pointed out, Christ himself gave us the ability to do so.

I guess the challenge is when a few christians try to corner this privilege. If you've got Christ, then even you can forgive the sins of others. Its not a complex religious process. Say you go preaching to someone, and the person wants to receive Christ but is not sure. You simple forgive his sins and welcome him to Christ by his confession.

What does the Bible mean when it says "The fool says in his heart, 'There is no God'"? Is atheism foolish? Are all atheists fools?
It wasn't talking about aetheists. I doubt if there were significant number of atheist in biblical days.
David was talking about a ruling elite who very likely, professed God with their mouths but in their hearts had contemplated that either God does not exist, or if gods do exist, then they did not interfere to bring judgement on man if they act wickedly.

This mindset emboldened these elites to act wickedly in their rulership, and even infect the people with such wicked behaviour, hence God could not find anyone who was a seeker.

Despite that both big man and small man were acting corruptly, God took side with the small men, and accused the big men of being the one causing the problems.

Its very much like Nigeria. The masses became corrupt because the elites devoured them in wickedness

So is taking another man's life a sin? Taking another man's life. Is different from murder. You may take life. In battle or in execution or by accident.

Evey know sin is clearly spelt out in the Bible
I'm not really concerned about the sin vs no-sin part

the point that i tried to make was that this your logic is shaky: if masturbation for health aint sin, then masturbation for recreation aint sin either.
Perhaps, you could use some other logic to buttress your point, but definitely not that one. Anyone with a little intellect will tear it down easily

I'll tell you a true story. A building collapsed and mum and baby daughter were trapped for days and thirsty. The mum slit her wrist and gave her blood to the child to drink.
If this is to be argued in a theological court, won't it be absurd to build logic around the act rather than the intent?
Christianity EtcRe: Did Joseph Prince Really Say This? by esere826: 11:20pm On Mar 09, 2016

^^ not joining in the debate, but I,m not sure of this logic.
Its like saying that if executing a man or man slaughtervis not a sin, then murdering is no sin.
In all cases, one takes another's life.

Don't be quick to say that the bible refers to murder. Although translators try to distinguish this and it can actually be inferred from reading the bible, however, from my studies, the actual original word used doesnt have that much of a distinction

Apart from safety reasons, such an infrastructure can actually be tied to direct job creation. So it is not necessarily a waste of money, especially if all materials are manufactured in Nigeria.

However, with regards to vandalism, the government could probably be more innovative. For example, creating a mini moat that separates the train tracks from pedestrians, or maybe laying sharp edged stones on each side of the track to discourage pedestrians from crossing.

All they need do is contact me for ideas
