Former Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole, at an event held in honour of late MKO Abiola’s family was quoted to have said he would arrest ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo if were Nigeria’s president.

Oshiomhole urged President Muhammadu Buhari to probe and arrest the former president “if he has committed any offence”.

The former president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) said: “He should be arrested if he has committed any offence. He arrested many of us. So, if we are celebrating Chief Gani Fawehinmi, we have compelling reasons to do so. In all of these, we didn’t pay any money to Gani or Falana. They defended us pro bono.

Police officers have arrested a young man identified as Agaezichi Ogbonna, who allegedly killed his mother over a love affair with a blood relative at Akpaa Mbato community, Obingwa council area of Abia State. According to reports, the 22-year-old suspect was said to have been having a love affair with his mother’s sister, but his mother, Blessing, warned against the relationship, describing it as a taboo in Igbo land.

On the fateful day, Obinna had allegedly spent the night with his lover. Sighting the lover while she was leaving on Saturday morning, the late Mrs. Chinyere Ogbonna raised alarm calling the attention of the community to the sacrilegious relationship her son has been keeping with a blood relative, being a native of his maternal home.

This however did not go down well with Obinna as he was said to have jumped out of the room, landed his mother the late Chinyere Ogbonna several punches on the face and all over her body which threw her into coma. She gave up the ghost on arrival to a nearby medical facility.

When they realized that the woman had died, the two ‘love birds’ fled, but Agaezichi was arrested by youths who handed him over to the soldiers stationed at the community.

The suspect who was beaten after being stripped naked - has been handed over to the Police.

The Nigerian Government has reacted to allegations by former President Olusegun Obasanjo that the government of President Muhammadu Buhari wants to accuse him of a crime on him and detain him.

PoliticsNGR gathered that in a statement issued on Friday, the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, described Obasanjo’s allegation as a “concoction of a mind worried by guilt”.

The statement reads:

“This administration will never engage in a frame-up of innocent citizens. That is neither in the character of President Muhammadu Buhari nor in that of his administration. Only the guilty should be worried. To paraphrase an African proverb, a man who has no wife cannot lose an in-law to the cold hands of death.

“The administration is also strongly committed to the tenets of democracy, including freedom of speech and the right to dissent. But we understand that those who, in their time, were untethered to those principles would find it hard to believe.

“Apparently, the impact of this proclamation was too much to bear by those who, through acts of omission or commission, helped to deepen the wounds inflicted by the blow of injustice that followed an election that was widely acclaimed to be free, fair and credible, hence they felt the need for a red herring that will distract the nation.

“Added to that is the frustration brought about by the fact that the contraption they have so much hyped as a freeway to power has failed to gain traction. Faced with this double tragedy, even the strongest of men may begin to succumb to a figment of their imagination. They may start crying wolf where there is none.”

It would be recalled that in the past few days, activities of secret cults in the State has taken an alarming dimension following a fierce battle of supremacy between rival cult groups leading to loss of lives and wanton destruction of properties. These dastardly acts perpetrated by misguided youths usually under the influence of hard drugs use offensive weapons such as guns, machetes, knives, etc to intimidate, assault, maim and even kill their perceived rivals including innocent citizens in Anambra State.

The miscreants also engage in other forms of criminal activities such as Armed Robbery, Extortion and House Breaking among others thereby causing serious security threat in the State. Worried by these emergent trends of Criminality and other nefarious activities, the Command under my watch has reviewed its crime prevention strategies and embarked on intensive patrol, aggressive raid of black spots/ flash points and other criminal hideouts in order to nip in the bud all forms of crime and criminality in the State.

These strategies started yielding positive results as during the week under review the Command has arrested Thirty Five (35) suspected cult members belonging to different sect groups from various black spots within the State particularly Awka, Obosi, Enugu-Ukwu and Okija as follows;

i. Chukwudi Machie 'm' aged 34yrs
ii. Chukwudi Igwebueze 'm' aged 32yrs
iii. Onyeka Igbanugo 'm' aged 28yrs
iv. Ifeanyi Anazoba 'm' aged 32yrs
v. Chukwuemeka Nwokoye 'm' Aged 32yrs.

The aforementioned suspects confessed to be members of Black Axxe/Vikings Fraternity and have direct link with the ongoing cult activities in Awka and the alleged murder of one Chukwudozie Patrick Nwosu 'm' aged 30yrs, Sunday Nwaboko 'm', Victor Omemma 'm', Ifeanyi Ndubuisi, Nnamdi Anih 'm' and others at various areas within the metropolis.

However, other arrested suspects who are not directly involved in the alleged murder but belonged to various cult groups are as follows,

“The risks they faced were real and I admire their courage and commitment to helping people who were in distress and were virtually in millions. Those photographs of people from the Biafra enclave spoke a lot.

“I remember with nostalgia the performance of the commander-in-chief, General Yakubu Gowon. Every commander was given a copy of the commander-in-chief’s instructions that we were not fighting enemies but that we were fighting our brothers. And thus, people were constrained to show a lot of restraint.

“The international observer teams were allowed to go as far as possible within and outside the front and I think this was generous and very considerate of General Gowon. He is a highly committed Nigerian" he said.

The civil war broke out in 1967 — after eastern Nigeria declared “Republic of Biafra” — and ended in 1970 with claims that millions were killed, mostly from starvation as a result of a blockade by the Nigerian government.

I know i am supposed to post this in the family section but i always get better response from the Romance section. I don't know whether any of you has been in a situation where an in-law comes for a short visit and finally settles in your home without any sign of leaving anytime soon.

My wife's elder sister who is single came to visit us in January but up till now she has not made any move to go and it's not as if we live in a big apartment so there is no much privacy. We got married in 2015 so our union is still young.

This kind of situation puts one in a dilemma because you just don't know what to say and you will be termed "a bad person". She lies on our matrimonial bed even in my presence.

Before now i never knew someone would feel comfortable staying with a younger sister in her matrimonial home. If it is as a result of accommodation problem or maybe you went to a distant location to do one or two things and you now spend sometime in your younger sister's home, that is understandable.

Please what advice do you have for me?

As I right now, they are plotting with that Afonja bank to confiscate Nextsoil skyscraper in Lagos. They conniving with banks to carry out their evil on Igbos, just like Innoson case where the bank criminally inflated their loans, then turn around to ask court to freeze Innoson goods and assets, with hope of ultimately involving AMCON. Igbo business men and women have no clue the amount of evil these people have for them.

Afonjas above and below are already happy. They enjoy to see Igbos in pain and misfortune. To them that's the only way to stop Igbo since they cannot compete with the chosen children of God.
