The police in Imo State have arrested a leader of a dreaded cult group in Imo State University Owerri, Anthony Chukwudalu (21), for allegedly killing one Victory Godwin Japhet, a final year student of Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, Owerri.

The state’s Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Ladodo, said Chukwudalu, who murdered the victim at the front gate of Imo State University on July 31, 2019, was later tracked down and arrested in Aba, Abia State.

“The suspect was tracked down, arrested in Aba, Abia State and on interrogation, confessed membership of Neco Black Movement of Africa alias Secret Confraternity of which he is the leader of the dreaded cult group in Imo State University Owerri,” he said while parading the suspect at the Command Headquarters, Owerri.

Adesuwa added that she spoke to Busola's sisters who told her they feel guilty because they were the ones who took Busola to the church and made her become a member. The sisters told her that they trusted him so much and never believed he could do such a thing to their younger sister.

''I met her sisters. They feel so guilty. They say Busola was the most holy of all of them. They took her to that church. I asked her if the pastor kept asking to take your sister out, wouldn;t you stop or follow her? They trusted the pastor''.

The media personality said from her investigations, Pastor Fatoyinbo may be ill and needs help.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has publicly given their support to Vice President Yemi Osinabjo, over the allegation of receiving N90 billion from the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) to finance the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign.

Speaking after a meeting with Osinbajo in which they prayed for him over the N90b allegation levelled against him by a former chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Timi Frank, National President of (CAN) Rev. Supo Ayokunle warned Nigerians against defaming the innocent who is working tirelessly to uplift the nation.

Ayokunle added that the whole nation will rise up to fight for the Vice President because he is innocent and the allegation is baseless.

“He has cleared the air that the allegation is baseless and there is no truth in it and that some people are plotting against him and he was ready to provide himself to be cleared.

“If there is an allegation there must be an evidence and that it can never happen and will never happen. The church and the entire country will fight for him" he said.

Also commenting on the security challenges affecting the country, the CAN President said “We must stay together to fight the challenges and we must overcome”.

A fake Jumia agent identified as 23-year-old Edoboryi Osaruese Leerees has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC in Benin, Edo state capital.

Edoboryi was arrested after a lady made a complaint of she and her friend paying over One Million Naira (N1,000,000) for the supply of goods they ordered from his page online but never got.

"Leerees was arrested following a petition by a lady who claimed to have paid him over One Million Naira (N1,000,000) for the supply of goods which she and her friends ordered from his page online but never got the items.

According to the lady, Leerees sent her a message on WhatsApp and told her he was an agent of Jumia and pledged with her to help him market his products which were on sales at 40% discount.

When the lady saw how attractive the prices were, she and her two friends credited his accounts with the sum of One Million Naira (N1,000,000) and waited for the delivery of their goods.

However, when days elapsed and the goods were not forthcoming, she went to Jumia office to make enquiry and discovered that Leerees was not an agent but a fraud and then decided to petition the EFCC after he refused to refund her money" the statement read in part.

The suspect operates by using his social media platforms to advertise goods which are purportedly on promo at cheaper prices as a Jumia agent. The adverts appear genuine and makes unsuspecting social media users transfers money to him for goods they will never get.

Further investigation revealed that he is an internet fraudster that has defrauded several people with the name Vin Diesel and Mark Sinclair. He has reportedly made useful statement and would be charged to court soon.

Reverend Berry Dambaza, a senior Zimbabwean pastor with Upper Room Ministries died on Monday, September 23, after committing suicide by jumping from the third floor of Rezende Parkade in Harare.

Pastor Dambaza reportedly died on the spot. While details surrounding his sudden death is unknown, there is speculation that he had financial problems as well as infidelity issues.

Confirming the incident, National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said:

“We can confirm that a church pastor allegedly jumped from the last floor of Rezende Parkade and died.

“We are currently investigating the case to establish the motive or the reasons behind this suicide,” he said.

According to iharare, he is said to have left a suicide note indicating abuse of funds.

Fast-rising comedian, Adeshina Damilola popularly known as 'Ibadan', an Architecture graduate of the Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), has died.

The talented comedian lost his life in a fatal accident close to filling station along Odonguyan road in Ikorodu, Lagos State after a trailer hit a bike he was commuting on.

The late comedian was a batch C stream 2 corps member who was getting set for the completion of his NYSC in the first week of November 2019.

20-year-old Nigerian student of Towson University allegedly rapes a fellow student who came to watch a movie in his room

Onyekackukwu Chukwuebuke Igwilo, a 20-year-old Towson University resident student, has been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged rape of another student.

He was charged with first-degree rape, attempted first-degree rape, false imprisonment and first- and second-degree assault in Maryland, U.S. Officials said the victim was assaulted around 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the 400 blocks of Towson Way. The victim told police she had gone to her friend, Igwilo’s room to watch a movie.

They were watching the movie when he touched her and climbed on top of her, the victim said. Officials said the victim said, "No," but he put his hands on her throat. When she told him again to stop, the suspect raped her and would not let her leave, officials said. Igwilo finally let her leave and she had visible and physical injuries. She then contacted campus police.

The Towson University Police reported the case to the county police around 7:30 p.m. TU police secured the crime scene, found Igwilo and detained him until county police arrived.

The suspect is being held without bail.

Football star, Cristiano Ronaldo took to his Instagram to make a post shading FIFA Best Awards after they awarded the 2019 FIFA Best Men's award to Lionel Messi.

Ronaldo, who was absent from the award showpiece event, immediately posted a photo of himself operating his i-pad while at home, suggesting that he purposely avoided the awards ceremony.

Ronaldo may have gotten a hint he won't win the award and avoided going to the ceremony. He won the UEFA Nations League trophy with Portugal and Italian League title with Juventus were won the Italian league most valuable player award.

His post on the social media platform came just immediately after the award show ended, and he could be seen visibly relaxed at home, with his son reading a book at the dining table.

The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Yola, Adamawa State, has sacked Shuaibu Langaga of the All Progressives Congress for certificate forgery.

Langaga had his election as member representing Mubi North in the Adamawa State Assembly nullified because he forged a first school leaving certificate, according to the panel.

The tribunal subsequently ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to issue certificate of return to Suleiman Vokna of the Peoples Democratic Party. Langaga however, said he will appeal the judgment.

A Facebook employee has reportedly committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of Facebook's headquarters in California.

According to TIME, the unnamed Facebook employee reportedly jumped from the fourth floor of one of the company’s headquarters in Menlo Park, California. He was found unresponsive and declared deceased at the scene shortly after 11:30 a.m. Thursday, September 19, according to the Menlo Park police department.

A spokesperson for Facebook confirmed the devastating incident, as the company plans to contact the victim’s family before releasing the identity to the public.

"We were saddened to learn that one of our employees passed away at our Menlo Park headquarters earlier today," the company said. "We’re cooperating with police in their investigation and providing support to employees. While the family is being notified, we have no information to share."

The City of Menlo Park confirmed that there was "no foul play involved in this apparent suicide."

The employee is currently only identified as a full-time software engineer at Facebook.

Mayor of Johannesburg Herman Mashaba has revealed that he feels that apologizing to Nigeria over the xenophobic attacks was unnecessary.

Speaking on CNBC Africa’s Political Capital on Tuesday, September 17, the South African Mayor said he doesn't see the xenophobic attack as an "incident" as it was bound to happen.

“No, there is nothing for me to apologise about,” Mashaba said while reacting to the letter of apology from President Cyril Ramaphosa to the Nigerian government

“What do you expect me to really apologise for?

“We are not going to turn a blind eye on such evil crime happening under our watch,” Mashaba said, adding that “the country [South Africa] also owes an official apology to the 10.2 million unemployed South Africans who are today without jobs as a result of billions of counterfeit goods being brought illegally into the country, killing local manufacturing.”

It should, however, be noted that 12 people were killed in Johannesburg, the city under Mr. Mashaba's watch. 10 people killed in the xenophobic attacks were South Africans, while the remaining two were foreign nationals.
