A rape victim from south africa took to Twitter to share her story and she disclosed the effect of the abuse which she has had to live with ever since.

@uMbaliBlackRose said she no longer has control of her bladder due to the rape she suffered. As a result, she has to wear pads every day to avoid wetting herself.

She tweeted: "Dear rape apologist!!! Because of rape, I'm unable to hold pee. I wear pads every day of my life."

Her tweet is one of many from South African women detailing how they have and continue to suffer rape. The women are tweeting with the trending hashtag #AmINext as they condemn the increasing rate of gender-based violence in the country.

Boko Haram Threatens To Kill South Africans Over Xenophobic Attacks

Popular Islamic Militant group, Boko Haram has threatened to kill South Africans over the renewed xenophobic attacks on Nigerians.

The Islamic militant group has given the South African government an ultimatum of 24 hours to stop xenophobic attacks in the country unless terror will be unleashed on their citizens based in Nigeria, Chad, Niger and other surrounding countries.

It appears the infamous terrorist group has listened to the plea of Nigerians to avenge the death of their fellow citizens and loss of their hard earned livelihood.

According to Nigerian Watch reports, this warning was contained in a brief YouTube video message.

The Islamic group also threatened to launch an attack on South African embassies in the aforementioned countries.

The Niger State Police Command has paraded one Bose Isaac for selling an abducted baby boy for N300,000.

The suspected child trafficker was planning her escape at the time of her arrest following a missing person complaint made by the father of the victim, Gambo Shua’ibu of Cikin-Gari village on August 24.

Niger state Police Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar said the suspect was arrested by a team of policemen attached to the Kagara Division. According to him, Bose Isaac confessed to abducting the boy and taking him to a woman in Ogun State who promised to give her the sum of N300,000 in return.

The suspect who claimed that she needed the money to sort out “family problems" said the buyer is yet to fulfill her own side of the bargain.

“I abducted and sold the little boy for N300,000 to a woman in Ogun State, who was desperate to have a child of her own,” she told Punch.

Asked why she sold another person’s child, she said, “It was the work of the devil and poverty in the land that made me find myself in this hopeless situation.”

The Police spokesperson further added that police is working tirelessly to arrest the buyer of the abducted boy while concluding its investigation to arraign the suspected trafficker in court.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has asked President Buhari to ban the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN), an umbrella association of herdsmen in the country.

The association also called on the president to “completely scrap” the suspended ‘Ruga’grazing scheme. CAN made the request at the Church leaders stakeholders’ summit, themed, ‘RUGA: The church’s response in the 21st century,’ which was held in Lagos on Saturday.

Samson Ayokunle, CAN president, was quoted as saying the association came up with the recommendations after setting up a committee to look into the Ruga grazing scheme and related issues. He accused MACBAN of supporting some herdsmen fingered in various attacks across the country.

“Anything that smacks of mutual suspicion should be avoided in the interest of national unity,” Ayokunle was quoted as saying. He said among the group’s recommendation are: “The federal government should immediately disarm and prosecute the Fulani herdsmen terrorists that have been recorded as one of the deadliest terrorists groups in the world.

“The group of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association which openly supported the activities of the murderous Fulani herdsmen be identified and banned immediately. President Buhari should suspend his membership and patronage of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association until he leaves office to reduce tension.”

Ayokunle was also quoted as saying insecurity in the country had become an embarrassment such that even military officers are afraid of traveling without escorts.

He added: “Enough is enough about insecurity in the country. It is totally embarrassing and people are having sleepless nights over it. There is no free movement anymore. Even military officers can no longer travel without heavy military escort; it is as bad as that. It is happening on a daily basis, it is no longer propaganda, neither is it political opposition talks.

“Our relatives are constantly being kidnapped and we are being compelled to look for money to pay ransoms. There are no other persons we can call upon other than the government because that is why they are there.”

A 37-year-old man, Seyi Onayemi, committed suicide in Ikorodu estate in Lagos state on Friday, August 30th.

A statement from the spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, Bala Elkana, says on August 30th, men of the Shagamu Road Police Station, Ikorodu received a distress call that the deceased allegedly drank a poisonous substance suspected to be Snipper insecticide and died in his room at 7th Avenue, Rofo Estate, Odogunyan, Shagamu road, Ikorodu.

Bala says the scene was visited by homicide detectives and the corpse was evacuated to mortuary for autopsy.

The empty bottle of the poisonous substance and a suicide note were recovered from the scene.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday night returned to Abuja after attending the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7) in Yokohama, Japan.

Buhari’s plane landed at the Presidential Wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja around 12 midnight with some members of his entourage.

He was received at the airport by top government officials.

President Buhari had departed Abuja for Japan last Sunday.

The President was accompanied to the conference by Governors Babagana Zulum, AbdulRaham AbdulRazaq and Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Borno, Kwara, and the Lagos States respectively; ministers and other top government officials.

Buhari, who attended TICAD6 in Nairobi, Kenya in August 2016, had participated at the Japan conference with the theme, “Africa and Yokohama, Sharing Passion for the Future,”, which was declared open by the Japanese Prime Minister and host, Shinzo Abe.

President Buhari delivered Nigeria’s Statement during Plenary Session Three.

He also attended a State Banquet and honoured the invitation of Emperor Naruhito to a Tea Reception at the Imperial Palace, Tokyo.

Buhari also attended some side-events and met chief executive officers of some Japanese companies with huge investments in Nigeria.

Formed in 1993, the now triennial TICAD, which has been convened alternately in Japan and Africa since TICAD6, is the largest international conference held in Japan which “provides an open forum that generates innovative discussion among various stakeholders on African development.”

Participants were drawn from African countries, international organizations, private companies and civil society organizations involved in development.

TCAD7 had focused on Africa’s “economic transformation and improvements in business environment and institution through private investment and innovation; promotion of resilient and sustainable African society for human security; and peace and stability in support of Africa’s domestic proactive efforts.”

The Federal Government has denied reports that Leah Sharibu is dead.

Leah, a student of Government Girls Science and Technical Secondary School, Dapchi in Yobe state, was kidnapped by a faction of Boko Haram terrorists in February 2018.

Garba Shehu, senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, denied the reports of Sharibu's death when he spoke with journalists in Abuja today Saturday, August 31st. According to Garba, the government is not giving up on negotiations for her release.

“Instead of giving up, the government is carrying forward processes that should hopefully yield her release by her captors. Lines of communications remain open with the kidnappers, ISWAP, to secure the release of Leah Sharibu. Contrary to false reports, she is alive – given assurances from our security agencies-, and the government is committed to her safe return, as well as all other hostages to their families.

“Kidnapping for ransom should never be encouraged. This means not capitulating to the demands of terrorists: refrain from rewarding their heinous crimes with payment. With the abduction of loved family and friends, the government understands how difficult these times are for them, but the government is pursuing many options to ensure the safe return of Leah Sharibu.” he said

A foreign student newly admitted to the prestigious Harvard University has been denied entry into the United States of America because of social media posts his friends made.

According to Washington Post, Palestinian Ismail Ajjawi, 17, arrived at Boston Logan International Airport on Friday night, but immigration officials detained him for eight hours.

Ajjawi was interrogated for hours and his phone and computer were searched. Afterward, they revoked his visa and sent him back home.

Speaking on the incident, an immigration officer said she “found people posting political points of view that oppose the U.S.,” though she discovered nothing Ajjawi had posted himself.

Narrating what happened, Ajjawi said, “After the five hours ended, she called me into a room, and she started screaming at me.

“She said that she found people posting political points of view that oppose the US on my friend list.

“I responded that I have no business with such posts and that I didn’t like, share or comment on them and told her that I shouldn’t be held responsible for what others post.”

Yet Ajjawi’s visa was revoked and he returned to Lebanon.

Harvard spokesman Jonathan L. Swain reacted in an emailed statement that reads: “The university is working closely with the student’s family and appropriate authorities to resolve this matters so that he can join his classmates in the coming days."

Reacting to the incident, spokesman for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Michael McCarthy, said the department was “responsible for ensuring the safety and admissibility of the goods and people entering the United States.”

He added: “Applicants must demonstrate they are admissible into the U.S. by overcoming all grounds of inadmissibility, including health-related grounds, criminality, security reasons, public charge, labor certification, illegal entrants and immigration violations, documentation requirements, and miscellaneous grounds.

"This individual was deemed inadmissible to the United States based on information discovered during the CBP inspection."

A Harvard University student has sued Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni for blocking him on Twitter.

Mr. Hillary Innocent Seguya Taylor, a Ugandan, also sued government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo and the police Chief Political Commissar Asan Kasingye, saying they too have blocked him from accessing their official Twitter accounts.

In his lawsuit filed before the High Court in the capital Kampala, Mr. Seguya states that he is a Ugandan citizen pursuing a Master’s degree in International Relations.

He says that the President and the two officials use their Twitter accounts as public forums to disseminate information about activities of their state-mandated functions and to get feedback from citizens, and therefore blocking him is "illegal, improper and irrational".

Mr. Seguya says that as a citizen living abroad, he is only able to access information relating to his country’s governance and to communicate with the respective officers through social media.

“Before being blocked, I used the same Twitter social media platform handles to communicate my views, dismays and suggestions to the respective officers,” Mr. Seguya states.

He said after being blocked, he was now unable to follow and see tweets on the respective accounts and therefore “not capable of contacting, replying, liking, tagging, retweeting and knowing the public information thereon or commenting on the same.”

He asserts that the blocking of his Twitter handle, @HillaryTaylorVI, from accessing the respective three handles on July 20, July 30 and August 8, was done without giving him notice.

Mr. Seguya is now seeking an order to be unblocked and is also seeking general damages for the inconvenience caused.

The student appointed his lawyer Male Mabirizi to represent him as he is not in the country.

Influencer breaks both legs after falling 80ft while attempting extreme yoga pose

A 23-year-old college student has survived a fall of 80 feet after slipping while performing an extreme yoga pose on a balcony railing in Mexico.

Alexa Terrazas was posing for photographs while attempting the stunt, before slipping and falling from the balcony of her sixth-floor apartment.

The tragedy occurred in Nuevo Leon on Saturday and a photograph has gone viral showing Terrazas balancing seconds before she fell.

It shows the brand-influencer supporting her entire weight on the railing, her head pointing toward the ground 80ft below.

Alexa was rushed to a local hospital where she battled through a grueling 11 hours of surgery.

She remains in a critical condition with fractures to all four of her limbs as well as to her hips and skull and might not walk for three years after doctors reconstructed her legs.

A plane was forced to make an emergency landing after the pilot fainted in the cockpit.

The flight, which was on its way to Maderia from Manchester, had to divert to Porto in Portugal due to an "onboard medical situation", according to the airline. The pilot is understood to have been taken to hospital on arrival.

The alarm is said to have been sounded around 10.20am local time today, August 26, and a runway was closed for half an hour till 11am so the emergency landing could take place, Metro UK reports. Airport sources told local media the airport is now operating normally.

Medical responders said they had received a request to assist a 40-year-old man who was taken to hospital "as a precaution."

According to Metro UK, a spokesman for Jet2 said: "Flight LS765 from Manchester to Funchal diverted to Porto as a precautionary measure this morning, due to one of the pilots feeling unwell.

"A standby aircraft and replacement crew will be flown to Porto so that we can get customers on their way to Funchal as soon as possible."

The National Youth Service Corps Monday said it has apprehended ten fake corps members who attempted to register with fake certificates during registration in its orientation camps in Kebbi, Katsina and Taraba states.

In a statement by the Director, Press and Public Relations, Adenike Adeyemi, the NYSC said the fake corps members would be handed over to law enforcement agents for prosecution.

It said three of the corps members who were apprehended in Taraba camp claimed to have graduated from Istop University, Cotonou in Benin Republic.

It listed the corps members apprehended in Taraba camp to include, Nasiru Yau from Mass Communication department, Sheu Muktar – Computer Science and Iliyasu Usman from Sociology department.

The NYSC said it discovered that none of the “fake graduates” could neither write nor say anything logical about their certificates or courses of study.

It also said its Verification Officers detected two persons in Katsina state orientation camp during registration.

The scheme identified the fake corps members as: Offor Blessing Chinelo KT/19B/3696 Call-Up-No, NYSC/ISU/2019/280122, with BSc result in Insurance and Actuarial Science, Mezenwa Ngozi Chidinma KT/19B/3836 with Call-Up-No NYSC/ISU/2019/259331 with a degree result in Education/English Language while the six suspected victim from the same camp is still under thorough screening.

It noted that the two fake graduates who claimed to have graduated from Imo State University have been handed over to the police for further investigation.

“In Kebbi State Orientation Camp, Dakingari, four persons were also discovered to have come to camp with fake documents from lmo State University.

“They are; Nwachukwu Chimaobi Curtis KB/19B/3046, Ononuju Amarachi Nwamaka KB/19B/3147, Francis Joseph Arinze KB/19B/3135 and Chigozie Evidence Chijioke KB/19B/ 3231,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, the Director-General of the NYSC, Brig Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, while addressing corps members at Sokoto State orientation camp in Wamakko, urged them to abide by the oath of allegiance to the country which they swore to.

He counseled them to embrace Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development of the NYSC scheme to empower themselves.

“Use the social Media positively, be decent and respect your dignity as graduates. Don’t get involved in fraud, prostitution and any form of cybercrime.

“Don’t endanger your safety. Your movement outside the state must be approved by the State Coordinator and do not go outside your place of abode to worship.

“Your parents are looking up to you to take care of them in their old age and we don’t want to lose any of you. Please let your colleagues know your movement,” the statement quoted the DG to have said.

It would be recalled that the NYSC Management had earlier issued stern warning that unqualified graduates would not be allowed to participate in National Service, adding that anyone caught with fake documents in its Orientation Camps would be handed over to security agencies for prosecution.

A Nigerian lady, Nneka, has exposed a married man who has been pestering her for sex and a relationship and also spending lavishly on her and her friends.
