Hamza bin Laden, the son of and possible successor to terror kingpin Osama bin Laden, is dead.

A new US intelligence report gathered that the al Qaeda leader’s son had died, but the report did not discuss details of where or when the younger bin Laden died or whether the US played a role in his demise, and President Trump declined to comment at the White House.

“I don’t want to comment on it. I don’t want to comment on that,” Trump said.

Hamza bin Laden’s last known public statement, released by al Qaeda in 2018, included threats against Saudi Arabia and called on the people of the Arabian peninsula to revolt against their rulers.

Navy SEALs killed Osama bin Laden in 2011 during a raid on his hideout in Abbottabad, Pakistan. Hamza was not found at the compound, but letters seized from the compound suggested the top 9/11 plotter wanted his son to join him in Abbottabad so he could groom him as a leader.

“Hamza is being prepared for a leadership role in the organization his father founded” and was “likely to be perceived favorably by the jihadi rank-and-file. With the Islamic State’s ‘caliphate’ apparently on the verge of collapse, Hamza is now the figure best placed to reunify the global jihadi movement,” counterterror expert and former FBI agent Ali Soufan said in 2017.

A Kano High Court on Wednesday sentenced a 25-year-old man, Umar Yakubu, to death by hanging for stabbing his friend, Ibrahim Adamu, 22, to death during an argument over N20 loan.

Yakubu, who lives at Sabuwar Gandu Quarters in Kano, was convicted on a one-count charge of culpable homicide, contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code Law.

Delivering judgment, Justice Dije Aboki, held that the Prosecution has proved its case beyond reasonable doubts.

Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Lamido Soron-Dinki, told the court that on June 13, 2018, at about 11 a.m in Sabiwar Gandu Quarters, Kano, the convict asked the deceased to give him a loan him of N20.

Soron-Dinki said the convict the stabbed the deceased in the chest with scissors during an argument over the N20 loan.

Soron-Dinki presented six witnesses before the court while the convict defended himself.

Frank Donga served a sarcastic tweet over the Nigerian senate's popular line of 'take a bow' during the recently concluded Ministerial screening.

Recall that the Senate President suffered a backlash over the 'take a bow' culture they adopted during the screening. The arrangement began in 2003 and it was introduced as a courtesy and privilege for nominees who had been elected to the Senate or House of Representatives in the past.

However, in recent times it has been extended to nominees it was not initially meant for. Recent beneficiaries include Godswill Akpabio ( Akwa Ibom), George Akume ( Benue), Emeka Nwajuaba ( Imo), Adeleke Mamora ( Lagos), Rotimi Amaechi ( Rivers), Tayo Alasoadura ( Ondo).

Others are Mustapha Shehuri ( Borno), Timipre Sylva ( Bayelsa), Abubakar Aliyu ( Yobe), Sharon Ikeazor ( Anambra), Ramatu Aliyu ( Kogi), Sadiya Umar Farouk ( Zamfara ) were also excluded from being grilled. The privilege was also extended to Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo ( Ekiti), Chris Ngige ( Anambra ) and Muhammadu Musa Bello ( Adamawa).

Reacting to this, Frank Donga told unmentioned future employers to give him a job without grilling him. He tweeted;

A boat accident in Borgu local government area of Niger State has claimed 15 lives.

The bodies of other passengers on the boat have not been recovered.

The boat was said to have been returning from Warrah market, a border community in Ngaski local government area of Kebbi state to Sabo Yumu in Borgu.

The accident, which occurred at River Malale on Sunday night, was as a result of the bad weather which caused low visibility.

The boat was said to have run into a tree stump on river Malale midway into the journey.

According to a source, only two people were rescued from the mishap while 15 corpses were recovered.

The source said that no-one has been able to ascertain the number of people in the boat.

According to the source: “The boat was big and have a capacity for over 50. Also because it is market day, there is the tendency that it might be overloaded.”

The Director-General of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), Ibrahim Ahmed Inga confirmed the accident saying 15 corpses have been recovered.

He added that divers are still searching for the remaining of the occupants adding that the high rate of death is caused by the unavailability of life jackets.

Inga, however, said the state government is working towards putting in place regulatory framework to check the activities of boat operators and providing life jackets in order to reduce high casualties experienced in boat accidents.

MacKenzie Bezos, ex-wife of the world's richest man, Jeff Bezos is officially the 22nd richest person in the world thanks to her huge divorce settlement.

Under the agreement, MacKenzie Bezos, 49, will receive approximately 19.7 million Amazon.com shares, giving her a four percent stake in the company valued at $38.3 billion while Jeff Bezos, 55, will retain a 12 percent stake and remain the world's richest man.

The former Mrs. Bezos has promised to donate half her fortune to charity.

Jeff and MacKenzie Bezos married in 1993 and have four children while she has an 18-year-old son from a previous relationship.

Indications emerged on Monday that embattled Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) founder, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, may have been forced by his spiritual father to step down over the rape allegation against him.

Fatoyinbo announced his stepping aside from pastoral duties in the church, a move that followed Sunday’s cancellation of the church’s Seven Days of Glory (7DGs) program, which was billed to feature international pastors of repute.

While Nigerians on social media applauded the move by Fatoyinbo and attributed same to the protests against him in Lagos and Abuja branches of the church, a statement by Senior Pastor of Covenant Christian Centre (CCC) Poju Oyemade insinuated the embattled cleric acted in reverence to his spiritual leader.

Oyemade, who said he was heartbroken and could not complete the video in which Fatoyinbo’s accuser Mrs. Busola Dakolo narrated her ordeal, explained how he contacted the unnamed Christian leader Fatoyinbo respects.

“I could only watch the tape by Busola Dakolo for a few minutes, it was difficult to sit through it. From what I heard it is impossible not to be heartbroken and sympathize with her. She must have gone through a lot and then to sit to tape her experience must have been very painful. She is today a wife and mother of three to have to relive a 20-year-old experience.

“I immediately contacted the spiritual leader in the Body of Christ I believe Pastor Biodun defers in authority to, to wade into the issue and bring about a decision. He informed me of his position.

“It was that Pastor Biodun should first step down from the pulpit indefinitely, suspend seven days of glory and make a public statement. These he made known to him directly in an hour. This should serve as the first step.

“He informed me that was the position and asked my opinion. We had three objectives in mind.

“1. Justice, 2. Healing, 3. Redemption. I have been informed that the decisions to step down and cancel the seven days of Glory have been made.

“It is apparent that the manner in which our Pentecostal Churches were/are born with an individual receiving a call directly from God and we all operating largely as independent bodies, our governing structures are not as strong as in the orthodox church settings with the exemption of Pentecostal denominations where you are appointed a pastor and can be easily sanctioned.

“This, however, makes it imperative that we go an extra mile to show a high level of compassion and sense of responsibility for people placed under our care or else what has brought our great growth may be what will destroy us.

“For those who have been abused and exposed in our independent Pentecostal structures, I deeply apologize and we will seek to build stronger structures through peer reviews and in our relationships,” Oyemade wrote.

Announcing his leave of absence, Fatoyinbo said the past few days have been sobering for him adding that he took time to pray, sought spiritual counsel from Christain leaders across the world.

He said: “I have solicited their guidance on actions I should take that is honoring to our Lord Jesus Christ and the work He has called me to do.

“Drawing from their counsel and that of the leadership of COZA and owing to my love for God’s work and the sacred honor of my calling, I have decided to take a leave of absence from the pulpit of the church.

“Although it would break my heart to tatters to stay a day without doing ministry I believe it is the right thing to do at this time. It is in the interest of the flock of Christ that issues concerning me do not become a distraction to their worship of their Lord.

“This step enables me to submit to the concerns of my spiritual mentors as they consider all the issues that have been raised against me.

“My confidence in the Lord remains unwavering. Though I do not understand all that is happening, I trust the Lord to lead and guide me one step at a time. Kindly pray for me and the congregation of COZA as we seek the face of the Lord during these turbulent times.”
