Well I wouldn't bash Lillard and Beal so much for wanting to be loyal to one team. The truth is there can only be one champion any given year. And I don't think free agents are queuing to go to Portland, however maybe if they took a little less money maybe they are able to surround the team with just a little more talent to be able to compete

Beal's decision to stay in DC I find a little more puzzling. He knows fully well that John Wall at 30 missing two years of basketball and with a huge salary will probably severely hamper the Wizards chances at a fair chance of competing, but he wants a team built around him. With what?? If he wants to waste his prime years though. Who am I to cry more than the bereaved?

Anyway let's see how the Lakers go from here. I know most of these players all have egos and when you start winning and not getting your due props saltiness can happen as we saw with Kyrie. You will see how fast humility flies out the window

You see my problem with players like Beal is
1. They are never held to the standards of winners like steph, Lebron, Durant by everyone yet they want to be accorded the same glory
2.They are always the one crying that the league is stacked against them aka cj mccollum fc
Always whining about not making all stars and all NBA
3. It's okay to be loyal but the proof of loyalty to me is sacrifice. Nowitzki, Duncan, Parker and Co embodied this. They took pay cut and lesser roles on their team to see it thrive.

But you take a huge contract on a bad team that's already handicapped and you're telling me you care about winning and loyalty. Nah! You only care about money.

I think it's just one game.. No need to start piling on Giannis or his supporting cast. Nobody said anything when the bucks eviscerated the Clipper's and Lakers a few weeks ago. Now after one game, his supporting cast is bad.
This Team has lost just 10 games this season and won in the absence of Giannis. They are good Abeg. I give them the benefit of doubt.

Guys guys the mavericks are coming, they are not ready to win it all this year but they look like the 3rd best team in the west already.
They give me the vibes of the golden state team that eliminated Denver and took the spurs to 6 games.
Porzingis is on fire on both ends of the floor and doncic is a superstar and closer. Hardaway and Seth curry have taken a leap this season.

Rick Carlisle is also a good coach.
The lakers and Clippers will be too much for them. But Houston and Denver won't relish facing these guys in the playoffs if they are fit.

Like how will Houston contain porzingis shocked

Harden has regressed or should I say lost the ability to build a mid range game which he had in his Arsenal when he was at OKC with KD and Brodie. The craze for analytics and rules of the game has distracted him from expanding his offense past shooting 3 balls or getting fouls when he drives. He easily could have developed a strong mid range game to go along with shooting 3’s and driving to the bucket with scoring intent. It is sad to watch!

Another is PG13! His own regression has everything to do with his new found love for jacking up 3’s. He no longer takes intelligent and high percentage shots neither does he drive to the bucket even when there is an obvious mismatch.

I think PG 13 change in style has more to do with his adjustment to the major injuries he has had. To ensure his longevity he's settling more for jumpers avoiding contact but I have not doubt he can turn it up when it's needed. He took a leap last year and I think he has it in him if healthy to elevate his game.

I have zero sympathy for player like Beal and Lillard who chose money over winning or who have this stupid delusion that they can be a 1A on a championship winning squad when they clearly are not.

If you're not a proven winner like LeBron, KD, Kawhi,Curry and transcendent talent like Giannis doncic, Embiid, Anthony Davis, Harden you have no business of having an ego of an 1a type of player in this league.
You either lower your ego and beg players or join you or go and join them grin

especially when you are in a small market, You don't further handicap the team by taking the maximum amount of money available and limiting the ability of the team to get the necessary talent if truly you care about winning.

LeBron, wade, KD, Nowitzki and spur legends took pay cuts and made sacrifices to win because they considered winning as number 1.

Then you have clowns like Lillard, Wall and Beal who will eat the whole pie and be forming one fake loyalty when their teams can't win

Russell Westbrook in February:

He's averaging that at less just over 30mins per game and playing all NBA level defense. He could win MVP and DPOY and it won't be wrong.

Wtf! Beal over Klay? In what world. Please basketball is played on both ends of floor and the totality of what Klay brings to the game is more than Beal anytime anyday.

We are often prisoners of the moment but klay in the absence of curry clamped Harden and also outplayed him on offence in 2016.

Let Beal average 20 point while play all NBA defense level against the best wings and guards in the game, then we can have this discussion.

If the lakers can't keep tatum quiet. How will they fare against elite wings and guards in the playoffs (Kawhi, PG, Harden and Westbrook). I won't be surprised if the lakers win the NBA title this year and I won't be surprised if they also got bounced in the second round.

Mehn! The supermax contract was supposed to level the playing field but it's been more of a team killer. Only the super super elite players like Kawhi, AD, Lebron, Giannis, KD, Curry and soon Doncic should get it.

Almost all the teams who have given out the super max extension are having issues filling out the rest of the roster and it kills team flexibility.
Portland and okc with Westbrook comes to mind.

In Portland's case Lillard was just being greedy, you know your limitations and your need for help yet you couldn't take a slight pay cut to get the necessary help.
He doesn't get scrutinize enough like Harden and Co because he gives one faux appearance of "loyalty" to hide the fact that he doesn't have the balls to do whatever it takes to win a title.

Westbrook, cp3 and John wall's contracts are big cause to worry abt giving players the supermax.

It was introduced to prevent superteams but it seriously handicaps a teams flexibility.

The Lakers are stuck with an aging KD, injury prone Davis, kuzma, very little flexibility going forward and a large gap in the squad to fill. Meanwhile the clippers got two superstars in their prime.
