I’m not taking any side, don’t mean no beef, no disrespect, and no hate but let the truth be told. I don’t believe because you feel you have a few change you didn’t have a few years ago and which you cannot guarantee having in a few years to come then you wake up and look at those people who have cheered you up, loved you, supported your music, bought your CD’s, prayed for you, just because you can lay your hands on some phone and you call them ‘poor’. Am not in and will never be in support of anyone who has such bad attitude.

“It needs to be corrected, we owe our fans the duty of being good examples that’s why they hold us in high esteem, that’s why you are a role model and if you know you cannot be a good role model you have no business in Music. You don’t know if it’s that person that might help you tomorrow, whoever does that should be checked.
You have to decide why you are in the music industry. If you know you cannot be a role model then you have no business being there”

FamilyMarried At 13, Now 20, Woman Seeks Divorce, Husband Demands N300,000 by Etumgbe(op): 8:00am On Aug 28, 2013
Nasarawa – Aisha Haruna , 20, of Uke in Nasarawa State on Tuesday at a Grade 1 Area Court in Mararaba, Nasarawa State, maintained her divorce request.

Aisha had on May 29 filed a suit seeking separation from her husband, Hussaini Haruna, 27, of Gurku Village,

At the resumption of hearing, she told the court that she and her husband could not resolve the matter after the last adjourned date on Aug. 19.

The husband, who spoke through his counsel, Nuru Mua’zu, demanded Islamic procedure of divorce.

“This is an Islamic matter and there are procedures to follow before a wife is granted her wish for divorce.

“One of the procedures is that the woman has to pay what is known as ‘Kuli’.

“Kuli means, paying back some of the expenses the husband made in the course of marrying the wife.

“Though I don’t have the document here, but the total expenses is around N300,000,” Mua’zu said.

He told the court that Aisha was eight months pregnant for Haruna.

Mua’zu applied for adjournment to enable him bring the document containing the list of expenses.

The presiding judge, Mr Musa Danjuma, granted the counsel’s application and adjourned the case to Sept. 2 for continuation of hearing.

The wife had earlier told the court that her parents gave her out in marriage at the age of 13 without her consent.

The mother of one said that she stayed in the marriage for seven years, adding that she had lost interest in the marriage.

She said her loss of interest was on the ground that she was a child at that time the marriage was contracted. (NAN)

Gunmen kill 32 in Benue, Borno communities

on August 27, 2013 / in News 8:20 am / Comments

By PETER DURU & NDAHI MARAMA

No fewer than 32 persons were killed by gunmen in separate incidents in Benue and Borno communities last Sunday. The bloody attack in Benue State occurred in Agbena and Agbaaga villages in Ukum Local Government area of the state, which left about 18 persons dead.

The Borno State incident claimed 14 lives with nine others sustaining various degrees of injury when suspected Boko Haram terrorists attacked Bama community in Bama Local Government Area of the state, Sunday morning.

Vanguard gathered from a source in the areas that the invaders numbering over 20, armed with sophisticated weapons, invaded the Agbena and Agbaaga communities in Benue State at 8p.m. Sunday night without resistance.
Eyewitness’ account

The source said: “They invaded the villages in several cars and started shooting anything in sight without resistance from the villagers.

“They also went as far as setting several houses ablaze, while the villagers fled for safety and at the end of the operation that lasted close to four hours, over 17 houses and huts were completely razed.

“At the moment, the affected villages have been deserted while women and children are seeking refuge in neighbouring villages.

Alleged leader

“We feel strongly that the invaders were led by one notorious robber popularly known as Gana, who in the past had led several attacks on communities along that axis of the state.

“In this instance, the gang did not take away any loot from their victims and the affected communities. All they did was to kill and set houses ablaze.”

Reacting to the incident, the Benue State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adams Audu, said the Police was yet to get the full details of the incident.

Police boss reacts

He said: “We must desist from speculating on the nature of the crisis and the number of deaths until the full details are ready and I will make them available to you.

“I just held a meeting with the Divisional Police Officer and Area Commanders of the affected areas. But I must say that upon my resumption of office as the Commissioner of Police in Benue State, some of the nagging challenges I met on ground were from the Ukum axis.

“Since then, I’ve taken decisive steps to check the crisis until this latest incident.

“I can also assure Benue people that we are not resting, but I must urge the people of the state to be vigilant and not take anything for granted.”

In Borno

In the Borno attack, Chairman of the council, Alhaji Baba Gulumba said, yesterday, in Maiduguri: “The Boko Haram terrorists launched an attack in the early hours of Sunday in Bama, leaving 14 people dead and nine others sustaining injuries.

“I attended the funeral of 13 of the victims in Bama this morning, but I could not attend the other one because he was buried in Maiduguri.

“He died from his wounds after being admitted at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, UMTH.

“Bama Local Government will pay all the hospital bills of the surviving eight victims, who are admitted at the UMTH and are currently responding to treatment.

“All the dead and injured are members of the youths volunteer, called Civilian JTF.”

Owing to lack of telecommunication services in Borno State, Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Gideon Jubrin, and the military Task Force spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa, could not be reached for confirmation.

Two Kenyan men have signed an agreement to "marry" the same woman.

The woman had been having affairs with both men for more than four years and apparently refused to choose between them.

The agreement sets out a rota for Sylvester Mwendwa and Elijah Kimani to stay in her house and states they will both help raise any children she bears.

Mr Mwendwa told the BBC he loved the woman and said the contract would "set boundaries" and "keep the peace".

Sylvester Mwendwa

Co-husband
Lawyers said the "marriage" would only be recognised if they could prove polyandry - a woman having more than one husband - was part of their custom.

The BBC's David Okwembah in the capital, Nairobi, says polyandry is not practised by any community in Kenya.

People have reacted with shock to the "marriage", arguing that it is not acceptable in terms of their culture, religion or the law, he says.

Defending the "marriage", Mr Mwendwa told the BBC Focus on Africa programme that while he may acting in breach of the law, he had decided to enter into a contract with Mr Kimani to end their rivalry.

"It could have been very dangerous if the other man would have come to her house and caught me... So our agreement is good as it sets boundaries and helps us keep peace."

'No jealousy'

Community policing officer Adhalah Abdulrahman persuaded the two men to marry the woman after he saw them fighting over her in Mombasa county, the local Daily Nation newspaper reports.

"We have agreed that from today we will not threaten or have jealous feelings because of our wife, who says she's not ready to let go of any of us," the agreement says, Kenya's NTV station reports.

"Each one will respect the day set aside for him. We agree to love each other and live peacefully. No-one has forced us to make this agreement," it adds.

Mr Mwendwa said her parents had given their blessing, while he is planning to pay the bride price.

The woman, a widow with two children, did not want to be named.

Mr Mwendwa told the BBC he did not marry the woman simply to satisfy his sexual desires but because he loved her and, most of all, her children.

"I have never been called a dad and her two children call me daddy," he said.

He said he hoped to have his own children with the woman, but she would have to decide.

"She is like the central referee. She can say whether she wants me or my colleague," he added.

Kenyan family lawyer Judy Thongori told the Daily Nation that the law does not explicitly forbid polyandry.

"The laws we have do not talk about it but for such a union to be recognised in Kenya, it has to be either under the statutory law or as customary marriage. The question we should ask now is whether these people come from communities that have been practising polyandry," she is quoted as saying.

BY DAUD OLATUNJI
ABEOKUTA — Pandemonium broke out in Abeokuta when a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ogun State, Mr Emmanuel Ajala, was beaten blue black by suspected political thugs, who also stripped him naked.

Ajala was attacked at about 6:30pm, on Saturday, while going to his Gbonagun home in Abeokuta. His attackers were apparently on his trail.

Vanguard gathered that three men operating on a motorcycle were alleged to have overtaken the politician’s car and flagged him down then pounced on him.

Ajala, a former legislator in Abeokuta South Local Government of the state, was also reported to have been dragged down from the car, while his cloth was torn.

It was, however, gathered that he was saved from the attackers when they sighted an oncoming vehicle and took to their heels.

Narrating his ordeal, the politician said: “They accused me of being too bold to comment on political issues, which they considered uncomplimentary and warned me to desist.

“It was an oncoming car they saw that made them to bolt away. I have equally reported the case to Obantoko police station.”

Contacted, the Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the victim reported at the police station, but had failed to report back as scheduled for further investigation of the case, explaining that his failure to report back will affect investigation.

“The man reported the case, and he was asked to be followed to the scene, but said he was scared and when asked to also come back the following day for further investigations, he failed to report.

“There is no way the police could investigate without him. He has killed investigation, so whether his claim is true or not, nobody can tell.”

PoliticsGunmen Kill Eight Traders In Enugu Market by Etumgbe(op): 4:33pm On Aug 22, 2013
No fewer than eight persons have been reported dead after unknown gunmen opened fire on traders at Abakpa Nike in Enugu State.

The incident happened around 5 p.m at Ogwuagor Market, popularly known as Ahia 4, in Abakpa suburb.

An eye witness told DailyPost that the hoodlums stormed the market in a commando-like style and shot traders on target.

The trader, who said he escaped death by the whiskers, lamented that his colleague died during the attack.

“I was discussing with my neighbour, a cobbler, when suddenly we heard gun shots, I quickly ran into my shop; after the gun shot had stopped, I came out and saw my friend lying lifeless in the pool of his blood.

“Apart from him, I also counted two other dead bodies within our axis, a young lady and a married woman.

“Other persons were also killed in different axis of the market”, said a market source.

Another eye witness also told DailyPost that a woman who was driving to the market was shot inside her vehicle.

The Enugu State Police, however, put the number of the dead at two, and casualty figure at five.

In a press statement made available to DailyPost by the spokesman of the command, Ebere Amaraizu, DSP, he said four suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Amaraizu confirmed the gunfire but said two persons died, while five were injured.

According to him, “The arrested persons are Peter Nwankwo, Udeh Chimezie, Osita Onyia and one Chief Frank Eze.

“One Sunday Eze and Nebechi Mba reported dead have been deposited at the mortuary of the Orthopaedic Hospital Enugu while the injured namely Uwadiegwu Onyegwu, Anayo Ifeji, Ani Basil, Hycienth Ugwu and Ozioma Ezekwem are also receiving treatment in a nearby hospital.

“Investigations into the incident have commenced in full scale to ascertain the root cause and those arrested are now helping the police in their investigation”.

“The state commissioner of police Abubakar Adamu Mohammed has urged members of the public to be law abiding and go about their lawful businesses as security have been beefed up in the area to forestall further breakdown of law and order in the area”, Amaraizu added.

She is 47 and happily married to her 3rd husband. She has been keeping the dreads for 25years now. Meanwhile, doctors have advised her to cut her hair for health reasons.
# She stopped cutting her hair in her 20s
# The uncut locks is about 25 years old
# Her hair weighs about 39 pounds (17.7 kg)
# Though she underwent a bilateral mastectomy followed by chemotherapy in the late 1990s, miraculously, her hair didn’t fall out
# In 2008, she was the first person to obtain the Guinness World Record for longest dreadlocks, and a year later, she broke her own record with a strand measuring 19 feet, 6 inches.

In 2010, Guinness decided to retire the category, since dreadlocks can be lengthened by twisting in extensions, making Mandela the first and only record holder.
