Natasha For the remaining part of the day,my mind kept wandering to different places. I kept asking myself why Lucious chose me out of all the cleaners at the restaurant. A part of me didn’t want to accept his offer while the other part kept reminding me how much Valerie and I needed the money. I hoped this job had nothing to do with my body. I wasn’t so poor to sell my body off to some rich old pot bellied men. I had to tread carefully. I knew I attracted a lot of attention to myself having the face of a teenager but the body of a fully grown woman. Most girls would kill to have my type of body with the perfect curves and edges but I wished I could just sell it off and settle for an “I” figure. For days,I didn’t see Lucious again and I didn’t bother to call him,not that I had a phone anyway. I couldn’t afford to waste my hard earned precious money on a phone call in a public booth. When I finally thought he was never going to come back,he appeared . While I was walking home after work on one of those tiring days,I noticed a car following me. I shrugged it off at first but when the car bent every corner I bent,I took to my heels. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me. The street was a lonely street. As I kept running, another car blocked my path ahead. I stood still wondering if my miserable life was going to end like that. Not less than five guys came out from both cars, surrounding me with stiff faces. I knelt down and started begging them in English and my native dialect. “I didn’t ask you to scare her like this you fools” A man thundered and they retreated. I raised my head to see Lucious. Apparenttly,he came in the third car that must have driven to that spot while I was begging for my life. He came to me and stretched forth his hand to lift me from my kneeling position. I pushed his hand away, standing on my own. I picked my bag which had fallen from my hand. “If this is how you treat people you want to help,I’d rather die in hunger than accept your darn help.” “Wait Tasha. These fools definitely didn’t hear my instructions well. I asked them to bring you to me.” “Yeah right or youasked them to abduct me? If you’re saying the bloody truth why did you send two cars and why did you come yourself?” “Tasha, calm down. You aren’t a Rottweiler, are you?” He chuckled and all I wanted was to throw a tooth-cracking punch his way. “We’ll soon know if I’m a Rottweiler or not.” I hissed loudly. “Sorry tigress. Would you mind if I take you for dinner?” “I would. Now,if you would please excuse me,I’d like to go home this instant.” “I guess I’ll see you tomorrow tigress.” “And don’t you dare send your goons to follow me. If they do,thunder will surely split their brains in half.” I walked away briskly. Inside,I was shaking all the while. I only managed to put on a tough appearance. For the next couple of days, I kept seeing Lucious everywhere around me. He had a boyish face that always turned stone hard whenever he was angry with his boys. I guessed he was no younger than thirty years old.He was dark skinned and really handsome. He was of average height, standing a few inches taller than me and muscular, though not as muscular as his boys. I paid him no attention whatsoever. I thought I would do just fine without his help but I was wrong. Valerie chose that time to fall seriously sick. I spent all my savings on her medication but she wasn’t getting any better. My pride did not allow me ask Lucious for help. Somehow,he found out about it and he offered me his help again. I had to accept it to save my sister from dying. He moved her to a better hospital than the one she was in. Slowly but surely, she regained her sound health again. I suffered a great deal combining work with taking care of her. Lucious sent someone to take care of her while I was at work. I was a bit skeptical of the arrangement. The ladys face was just as stony as that oof his body guards and I feared she could kill my sister in my absence. I asked Lucious to let me take care of her alone when I saw him at the restaurant again. “Lucious, I need a favour.” “Name what you want Tash.” “I want to take care of my sister alone please.” “Don’t tell me Lucy’s face scared you.” He laughed. “Don’t mind her. She just wasn’t taught how to smile while growing up.” “I don’t care, just let me take care of her alone please. She’s all I have in this world.” “Wrong, you have me too. If you want to take care of her, quit your job.” “Are you thinking at all? Do you want us to starve to death? I haven’t even started paying you back for the medical expenses you took care of.” “Tigress, tigress. You didn’t let me finish. You quit the job and I’ll take care of both of you. I’ll start by moving you from that place you call a house to a more comfortable place. Don’t worry,I’ve got you covered.” “Why?” I asked. He looked at me puzzled. “Why are you helping me this way when you’ve never know me before?” “I don’t know. You’re not the first I’m helping this way neither would you be the last but I think of you as a very strong and special type of girl. Let’s say I’m your guardian angel.” “Thank you Lucious. You’re so kind.” Tears were streaming down my face. “Now,don’t cry Tasha. I’m not ready to get arrested for making such a beautiful cry.” I smiled. From that moment on,Lucious became the best thing that ever happened to me. I trusted him more than I trusted myself and I was ready to do just about anything in appreciation to him. My life changed so much in a matter of weeks. The servant became the served. I got curious about Lucious source of wealth and I confronted him about it. He told me he was helping his grandfather manage his business and I didn’t probe more. Lucious sponsored both Valerie’s and my education. I got admission into the university to study psychology. He made sure I had every resource I needed throughout my education. When I finally graduated,it was time for me to join Lucious business as he had promised. I was very eager to start,I thought of it as my own way of paying him back for all his kindness. |

Natasha Elliot yearned to talk to me but I rebuffed all his efforts. I wasn’t ready to open the wound I had years ago. Lucious,a bi-racial dreadful drug lord. His father was South African and his mother Nigerian. I always believed that there was no drug lord That wielded as much power as he did. He was simply everywhere. Once you got into his trap, your life was ended right there. I couldn’t still forget how I became his prey. It was after I lost my dad. I was just through with high school. Valerie and I lived like beggars after his death, sleeping in front of shops at night, even stealing to survive. One day,I went looking for money so we could eat. I was tired of stealing people’s properties. I decided to go for any manual job available to me but fate had other plans for me. I saw a sign in front of a restaurant that read “Cleaner needed urgently.” I was overjoyed as I straightened up my tattered dress and went inside. It took a lot of pleading and begging before the manager gave me the job. He looked at me with disdain. I was forced to tell him how my little sister and I were struggling to survive. My story seemed to soften his heart. I can still remember the moment he said. “MisS Natasha, this is strictly on a trial basis.” I could still see the smaller version of me nodding mechanically, barely restraining from giving the short dark man a bear hug. I set to work immediately. For three whole months,I worked diligently for the restaurant. I was known as the ‘no nonsense cleaner’ and I couldn’t care less. Lucious was a frequent customer at the bar. I didn’t like him a bit because he had staring issues. I wasn’t the only cleaner there but he took delight in watching me like a hawk each time he came with his broad-shouldered bodyguards. Mr. Brown,my employer pulled me to one side while I was working one afternoon. He said “Natasha, those men over there are requesting to see you. I offered them one hour with you.” “One hour? And you won’t pay me for the one hour lost. You know I can’t afford to miss even an hour’s pay sir.” “I’ll pay you for the one hour Natasha. Don’t do anything rude there,I know you too well. Those men have the power to shut down this restaurant for good and render me penniless.” He warned. “Okay sir.” I went out of his office to meet these strange humans. “Good afternoon sirs.” I curtsied. “Hey girl, have a seat. I’m Lucious.”He stretched his hand out for a handshake and I took it nervously. “I’m Natasha sir.” “Do you mind if I call you Tasha?” “No sir.” I looked at the bigger guys nervously saying a silent but fervent prayer in my heart. “Boys, wait for me in the car.” He ordered, not tearing his gaze from my face. He probably sensed my discomfort. “Are you okay now Tasha?” He asked with a small smile. “Yes sir. Thank you sir.” “You’ll have to learn how to call me Lucious dear. Your sir thing makes me feel too old.” “Okay sir,I mean Lucious.” “I want to change your life Tasha. I’ve been watching you for some time now and I want to help you make it big. I’m sure this job isn’t enough to make yourself and your little sister comfortable.” “How did you know I have a little sister sir?” He gave ne a stern look and I quickly corrected myself immediately. “Sorry Lucious.” “Lucious knows everything sweetheart, everything,” “Yeah right.” I scoffed. “I heard you’re a tough one.I almost thought my informant was lying” I looked down at the table. “Call me before sundown.” He handed me his card as he got up from his chair. “It’s not up to an hour yet.” “I know. Use the remaining time to relax a bit before heading back to work.” He left before I could say a proper thank you. |
Fred is just behaving weird. If she gives in now he'll resume his foolishness. Oya SurestG let's go |
