Angola and South Africa have a "special relationship" they are our biggest regional supporter in terms of global politics and geo-pol
just like ghana is our biggest regional supporter, but the problem with regional allies is that over time, they become too ambitious enough to threaten the national interests of the regional {bloc's} leader.

1-to-3 rule applies to every navy in the world

2 subs are fully operational, 3rd is undergoing (or completing) sea trials
that wasnt what your chief said,he said that only about 2 of your submarines were still operational, and out of those two,one was undergoing repairs.he also said that your subs needs new batteries,as they arent functioning at maximum capacity anymore....

I understand but whos going to sneaky F'ck us Namibia,Mozambique we can destroy them with our maritime police dont even need our military, just like how we sent our SAPs in to calm Lesotho's military when they attempted a coup earlier this year , as for Nigeria, you guys have no bigger threat than we do either. The only real threat to both of us might be Angola but only way in the future.
angola will be more of a threat to SA than nigeria due to its close proximity.i've realized that it positively serves national interest for a country to make a few {powerful} enemies.

Hahaha ok a few weeks, but SA has no threats so theres no need for any of them to be active really.
hmm hmm....though a threat aint gonna warn you before it rear its face, ask nigeria.better to be prepared than to wait to for nasty surprises.

Mate,I said in August and only August did we have 1 Sub operational, one had just completed its refit and was doing its sea trials and the other was just about to go in for its refit("Although we only did have one sub operational in Aug but that has since changed" )please dont twist my words. And no you guys dont come close to the royal Australian Navy.
i was justing correcting when he claimed that at all times the SAN has two submarines ready.

They're operated in rotation.

This means SAN always has an frigate and submarine capabilities, if all four frigates and three submarines were put to sea at the same time it would they'll have to undergo maintains and refit at the same time. Leaving SAN with no frigates and submarines.

Like Nigeria, today you have no war fighting ship, as Aradu is un-operational.

At any given time SAN has 2 or 3 frigates and 2 submarines ready.
"as at august we only had one operational submarine"-jln115

your navy is inferior to the NN.our SBS are the most well trained STF in africa, and one of the world best, beating even australia's naval forces.

patches689:
What?

Nigeria has no operational missile armed vessels

Our "defunct" subs sunk an entire NATO task-force

NN is a joke, zero warfighting ability
and you gonna fight a naval battle with most of your warships in repairs or grounded?,not forgetting that you now have only one functioning submarine with an half charged battery.

Jap we have 4. SAS amatola will be active again next year March after receiving a full refit,SAS Isandlwana is being refitted as we speak, as for the last 2, its up to the SANDF to decide which one they want to refit next.
hmm.... you're no match for the NN then, even with your defunct submarines.

Anyway, Junk Fighter is kinda unneccesary for Nigeria considering what they need is Su-25's and Tucans supplemented by Scorpion jets

no Africans have stopped living as cavemen, and they are walking and working towards sustaining this positive pattern of development. Before you call for totalitarianism, can you pls tell us one African nation that have benefited from this system of government ( giving us clear and concise historical facts). Tell us one African state that, thanks to the rule of a dictator it was able to develope itself profitably. If there is none then what makes you as a neophyte in issues of government and politics think it will work out in a heated and multi ethnic state like Nigeria or do want to use the largest black nation on earth to experiment on a banned Government ideology?
experiments create ideas.i can name countries that have benefitted from totalitarianism: rwanda, gabon and libya{before NATO came to destabilized it},even egypt during the regime of morsi.you consider the use of force as archaic?...thats weakness my friend.

you ve just failed your first presidential debate. My Question was."how will your de facto state and its one sided policies fulfill and achieve the nigerian national interests(domestic and foreign) and its wider interest in its sub region.[ii.]and please what do you think determines our national interest as a country. Because you cant just come to power and say" erm! Missiles made Russia great oya let us start building the world fattest missiles, aircraft careers are cool and dangerous let us get some of those(which role dem go play for gulf of guinea or your spat with south Africans online go make you ride your aircraft career go cape of good hope?).You don't run a nation like a football management app.You ve to take into considerations many factors that overtime have grown to form the Raison de etre of Nigeriai.e.The reason for the existence of Nigerian state.
ah...you're being naive.do you think that a marxist comes on air to tell his true ambitions?

This flies in the face of COIN doctrine
Read what patreaus's policy in Iraq was
Infastructure and economic development are more important than tanks
COIN doctrine?,such foreign attempts at limitation should be dismissed, the same way i would withdraw nigeria from the ICJ if i were in power.

may the good lord help us.
christ have mercy.mother mary pray for us....but lets first clear our house of thrash.do you think people like asari dokubo, abubakar shekau, olusegun obasanjo, babangida etc....will be able to spill the rubbish they're spilling now,in a totalitarian government?.after all the stolen money and havoc those guys have caused they still have the ba||s to dictate to the government.in a strong country, they'd be publicly skewered with a lance, diced into smaller pieces, burned and their ashes scattered over the ocean, and if anybody protest against it they'd be effectively sanctioned.democracy allows thieves and killers to walk free.africans have become weak.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by EVarn(m): 6:58am On Dec 10, 2014
@overhypedsteve,you speak as if you dont know how international politics is played.of all criteria that makes a world power, military might is the most important.now lets examine russia, the russians arent impressive when it comes to economy and infrastructure as they've spent a better part of their existence waging wars and buffering crippling sanctions.if not for oil,gas and weapons, russia wouldnt have an economy at all.yet in the end, they spend a large part of what they earn on the military, why?.russia has little foreign influence beside that in the eastern bloc and in syria.russia's land is mostly made of stone and ice,so they import most of their food.yet isnt russia a world power today?,what makes it a world power,an inflated GDP or the international fear of its military might?.other examples are isreal, iran, egypt{perhaps},north korea etc..,these countries barely matter when it comes to economy, but when it comes to military, everyone shivers.that,my friend is true power.forget what written in books.

Hahahah most probably get burned rather than a tan always forget the sunscreen, dont blacks get tanned too i mean look at those Southern Suddan folks they are almost charcoal colour by spending so much time in the desert?hahha thought you ment sunlight, but in SA those who have electricity have it 24/7(or the last few days 23/7)doesnt matter where you live.We use the word robot for traffic lights, really messes with the tourists heads as they think we mean real robots.BTW what english does Nigeria use, british or American, the text box keeps on showing me that my spelling is incorrect when i use british english words like colour vs color.
eh..arent those sudanese folks white{arabian colour}?.tans are kinda cool,it gives the skin a lovely golden sheen.ah,nigeria uses british english officially, but we kinda have our own indigenous type of english called the 'pidgin english',that why some nigerians call power=light, food=chop, car=motor, machine=engine, what?=wetin? etc..

I think that the problem we have is that their are to little honest people out there that put their people before him/her self, and this is a problem that nothing can fix, not democracy , not communism and not dictatorship, their will always be power crazed people no matter in which way the country is governed. Its a problem with no solution really.
perhaps.but there would be limits if the knots are pegged with iron clips.a country like china have been relatively peaceful because there are strict measures in place

Zuma doesnt even have formal schooling but hes our President.
But to be honest the Government has done well to supply 95% of the country with electricity its just these last few days where eskom have fckup, but the big problem is that ESKOM is a monopoly so when they fck up it effects every body. And only the small towns are really receiving load shedding, the big Cities have less of it would effect the economy even more. Iam currently in Mosselbay at my Parents place, and mosselbay is not that big of a town thats way we are receiving load shedding more often here, but there will probably be no load shedding her later the month because its one of the most popular vacationing destinations in SA.
hmm...mossleybay you say?,isnt that a small town south of the cape?.anyways, you guys still have it better,in nigeria,we've got about 18 hours of light a day at best.

I read about that a few years back, i definitely support something like that, he also suggested that instead of paying with the $ for oil but instead using gold to pay for oil. dont know if its the same as the Gold dinar. Iam also not saying we should copy the west but people should still be able to vote for the leaders they want in charge.I wouldnt say communism works for the east just look at japan ,south korea and Australia those are the three most developed countries in the east and all are democracies.
exactly, ghadaffi was branded a 'terrorist' for what?,osama bin laden killed thousands of americans like chrismas turkey, yet he ran rampant for nearly 10 years,no war drones entered into afghanistan to blitz it into the stone ages.why ghadaffi then?..i strongly oppose democracy as we practise it in africa, yes the people can chose who they like, but let their be limits to the craze for power!

thats inconvenient indeed.i can imagine how it is being in darkness{even for one hour},after being used to constant power supply.i've always known that that child rap|st zuma was a clueless crook,i never knew he was a slowpoke too!.

Ghadaffi is not a very good example but any way i still believe democracy is the way to go i mean communism is proof that you cant lead country where the state owns every thing and the people have no say. Yes China is developing fast but with so much manpower even an ape for a president can develop something, way are all/most of the richest democratic? its because democracy( if run properly ) works.

But back to your earlier post, SA is still relatively cheap i mean my car cost less than $5000
yeah, there are cars here that cost less that $1000 too,but hey, humans dont really eat cars now,do they?.some things are still on the cheapest side here, but generally,it isnt impressive.

the african mind have been immersed in the doctrines of capitalist enslavement.democracy works for the west, communism works for the east, something has to work for the south{the african continent},we try so hard to copy the results of america using american methods, can a an orange grow the way a tangerine grows?.do you know that before his death, ghadaffi proposed the idea of a common african currency called the "gold dinar"?,typically african leaders{puppets} opposed him, why?,because if the dinar system had worked, the dollar would have collapsed, being turned into coloured paper.
