US warns that Russia's activity in Syria could lead to confrontation
.

.
I say,it is unlikely.
However,to be realistic: it would only take a few hours for US bombers and raptors to demolish all the punny toys that Putin gifted Assad.Nothing short of the Patriot or S-400 SAM/ADS can properly defend any country's airspace against US raptors and stealth bombers.
I think both Putin and Assad should be on their knees, thanking whatever deity they worship that the US isnt currently being ruled by a republican.
Both the US and Russia will continue edging around each other in Syria.

Chinese warplane intercepts US military surveillance aircraft over the yellow sea

Cool!,you see,one thing I admire about China is that they seem to understand world dynamics to an advanced degree and they are now willing to set up the pedestal that could eventually lead to them taking charge.
Unlike Russia that seem to favour excessive noise-making and misplaced use of brute force to throw unwarranted tantrums in hopes of asserting its power,China is succeeding in colonizing the world with its relatively cheap but cutting-edge emerging technology.
All over the world,China has built{and is still building} light rails,monorails,high-speed rails, refineries, dams, roads, cities etc..recently,a chinese company sealed a $5 Billion deal to build a high-speed rail linking las vegas to los angeles in the US.That is soft power!.
Now,China is exercising its emerging military might over the south-china sea.

Why would I copy and paste?.Your opinion lacks substance.

US moves against Russia, proceeds to station new nuclear weapons in Germany
.
.
http://www.thetruthseeker.co.uk/?p=121905
.
lol....Interesting development,20 new tactical/strategic atomic weapons to be stationed in Germany in fresh US move against Russia.
While Russia is still experimenting with its ballistic missile technology and planning to build 40 submarine-launched intercontinental nuclear ballistic missiles, the US has already perfected its nuclear technology to the extent that they can deploy tactical bombs oversees.
Each of the atomic bombs to be deployed in Germany have 4 times the nuclear capacity of the bomb the levelled hiroshima: Putin's attempt to solve Russia's problems using military force is quite misguided and clearly lacks substance.Russia still fails to realise the significance of having a vibrant economy and strong diplomatic clout. On the military front,Russia remains clearly outmatched; modern warfare leaves little room for maneoverability and acrobatic theatrics.

CIA revolts against Obama, vows to assist Russia defeat ISIS/ISIL
.
.
http://www.whatdoesitmean.com/index1914.htm
.
I guess you can call this an "intelligence coup" in the US of all places.
But,is it really possible for the CIA to bypass the congress, and directly feed Russia with classified military intelligence?,nope,i dont think so.
Even with intelligence, can Russia really act decisively and probably risk escalating tensions with the US?
The US remains the sole military superpower,70% of its nuclear arsenal is combat ready and accessible; moreover, the US can deploy its nuclear arsenal using extra-modern medium and tactical capsules, while Russia is still thinking of lobbing its largely inaccessible warheads using crude WWII technology and obsolete strategic bombers, like a kid using catapult to fling pebbles.
Russia is accusing the US of failing to target known terrorist locations in syria,my question is; why not provide Assad with the necessary intel to target the mysterious locations itself?.

Israel seeks to avoid clashes with Russia in the middle-east
.
.
http://www.presstv.ir/Detail/2015/09/21/430124/Israel-Syria-Netanyahu-Putin
.
Good!,at least netanyahu still has his wits.
Russia is acting in its own interest by intervening in Syria, and there is nothing Israel can do about it except to ensure coordinate level of cooperation with Russia, and vice versa.
Russian presence in Syria will shoot down the Europe-Saudi Arabian oil pipeline venture by strengthening Assad, which would of course prevent syria being used as a conduit.Israel stands to benefit by remaining reasonably neutral or at least limit its actions to mere noise making.
Of course, that is if Russia is willing to negotiate; if not,Israel has the capability to frustrate both Russia and Assad.

Yeah,Obama has been a short-sighted leader so far, especially in terms of recent US foreign policy implementation. Why the hell would any sane country waste $500 million of taxpayers' money on training a meagre 50 fighters to fight a terrorist group as big and powerful as ISIS?,furthermore, out of the 50,only 5 are now remaining,$500 million bucks gone like POOOF!....lord!,what sort of mor0ns run the US?,and they say african leaders are clueless, obama should be smacked on the head till he sees sense!.
If care is not taken,China and even Russia will eventually grow to match or surpass the US in terms of diplomatic clout and economic projection, which wouldn't be a bad thing anyway, especially for Africa.

Does russia want to be thrashed out of syria like its previous comic display of military tomfoolery in afghanistan?,yeah, russia wants to fight the US with its new armata toys, splendid!,i guess when they start "breaking down" in the middle of battle, the battle-ready abrams are going to wait for technical teams to rush down and kickstart their rusty turbines!.
Mr Putin,it is better to sit down and talk with your US counter-part,do not let this lead to a war.

Excuses excuses but hey I expected nothing less from you this is what you do. Did you forget you also arrested a journalist last year or should I remind you with another source.Anyway does the name Donu Kogbara ring a bell.
I'm not here to dispute your claims of nigeria not being a true democracy in fact I'm quite relieved you are, otherwise your military would've gotten away with even more atrocities with impunity and more f@ucktards like you would've been running all over SA. tongue
Running over SA?,ha,you wish!....
when even big multinationals like MTN and tata are considering running out of SA,why will nigerians be running over SA like an european migrant crisis?.
The journalist arrested last year was an aljazeera journalist who ventured into a cordoned-off warzone without proper military permit and escort, his action was against standard international best practice and professional ethics.
If BH had captured or hurt him,the whole world would have cried foul.

Culture evolves and should change with modern times.Stop making excuses for repressive anti gay laws that has no place in a free modern society where human rights and the right to live free should take precedence over culture. What does gay rights have to do with a nations sovereignty. Stop your excuses.
There are no "repressive" or "archaic" laws in the Nigerian constitution, the constitution is always revised and amended every ten years. The matter of gay law is deeply laden with cultural and religious undertone, lawmakers cannot make laws that will cause majority of the populace to revolt against the constitution,if the majority want a constitutional ammendment, they will clamour for it.Nigeria always consider cultural values in implementing seemingly alien concepts,in modern society, democracy is the voice of the majority.
As for women participation in government, lol, former finance minister, aviation minister, petroleum minister etc and 26 senators were women.

The verdict is still out on M.B, we still have to wait when shiiit hits the fan again.
lol,you bring a source from an international armchair media group that hasnt even stepped foot into Borno state?,are our local and international media orgarnizations{ChannelsTV} complaining?,journalist right groups have accused the US government{of all governments!} of restricting media access to vital information; is the US an oppressive society? - no matter the degree of media freedom dished out in any nation, greedy journalists are never satisfied
In Nigeria, the media is enjoying an almost god-like reputation; recently, column journalists and newswriters took to sarcastically referring to PMB as "baba go slow",no one reacted, infact PMB found it quite amusing.
During the regime of GEJ,it was so bad even liberal western countries would have clamped down on it

Just because you have the 4th biggest voting population don't make you democratic. Some of your laws are still archaic and non democratic and still discriminate against minorities.A democracy is only good when press freedom is protected and fully guaranteed under its constitution. But I'm afraid this seems not to be the case in Nigeria at times.Go look at your press freedom and then you'll soon come to the realisation you are far from being truly democratic.
You need to take a few political science classes because you way out your depths here.
Now don't derail this thread again with your off topic bs.
What press restrictions are you talking about?,you must be suffering from severe case of mental injunction if you actually believe the crap you wrote.
Nigeria operates a 'free press',one of the freest in the world; any journalist can walk up to the president and call him a thief without getting bundled away by the police, this happened many times during GEJ's regime.

What about your restrictive labour laws and totalitarian Protection of State Information Bill?,is that a democracy?.
There is no perfect democracy anywhere in the world{even in the west},sometimes the law has to be bent to protect cultural values and sovereign interests.
Nigeria still remains the 4th largest democracy on the planet.

Good.
As for being the political powerhouse,I disagree; Nigeria is the 4th biggest democracy and the biggest democratic black nation of the planet, well ahead of Brazil and the US.This makes us Africa's political powerhouse.
With the recent smooth transition of power,Nigeria's democracy has grown to match that of South Africa in terms of advancement, though we operate different political systems.

Zambia's economy is not vastly diversified, most of its revenue is earned from solid minerals,of which limestone is a huge percentage.
Moreover,Dangote not only built a $400 million cement plant,he aalso constructed a 30MW power plant, along with recent investment which includes sugar refinery, flour mill, noddles factory and others.

Even the US President Obama admitted that Nigeria is the most strategically important country in Africa,China's prime minister also agreed that Nigeria is Africa's powerhouse.

due to our history and demographics, i think we should accept it already that the armed forces will be part of our national life as long as Nigeria exists. It will be part of our lives just as the military is part of the American, Isreali, North Korea and Russian life. It is incumbent in us to try to take the military very seriously.
Exactly!,it is time to restore the military and advance its capabilities in order for it to be an instrumental institution for the enforcement of our foreign policy and national integrity.President
Obasanjo did what was best at the time by stripping the military of its powers and crippling its capabilities, but it is now time to pick up on the next phase of our national advancement by re-arming and empowering the military.Nigeria has far far advanced beyond the stage of military coups and overzealous juntas,we have nothing to fear anymore, our political institution is now well matured and advanced.

Yes.
First, let our president place a call to their current coupist; giving him an ultimatum to either step down in 24 hours or face severe economic sanctions and a Nigerian-led ECOMOG intervention.
If he remains stubborn {like laurence gbagbo},we should call an ECOWAS emergency meeting for a multilateral referendum and assemble our forces to invade burkina faso,we may act unilaterally if our economy permits us.

This is the first sensible post you have made so far on this thread, congrats!.
The idea of an AAC is a very brilliant one, however Africa only has a few countries that are emerging centres of technology while others haven't even matured in terms of technical skills: this creates difficulties in technology sharing, coupled with individual nationalistic goals{nationalistic ideologies arent 'petty'}.
I think even if such a development is going to happen,it will be a collaboration between elite african nations; Nigeria,Egypt,South Africa,Algeria, and Ethiopia{and perhaps Morroco}.
