I want to apply for an airport transit visa france for airfrance flight to naija & back to uk


Q1:
Number of stays planned in France for the coming year *
what should my answer be? 0 or 2

am applying for 2 entries ATV as its a return flight

Q2, for the dates of entry &departure, have i answered it correctly? as i have only put the date of the flight to naija , not the return (no option for other dates)

Lastly, flight is for august, is it ok to apply for the ATV now?

yes they will. if you struggle, just go there on your biometrics day with ur card to pay

Hello everyone, I have been a silent follower/reader for almost 7 years on this platform and it has helped me tremendously. I’ll like to share my experience, it might help others as well. I applied for my mum’s 2 years visit visa. I was her sponsor.
Application Timeline below
27th of February: Application submitted
28th of February: Uploaded all documents but I didn’t submit because I was trying to be sure I haven’t missed anything.
1st of March: Submitted all supporting documents on the self-service portal @ 7am
1st of March: Biometrics done @ 12.30pm
3rd of March: received an Email that visa is been processed
8th of March @ 9am received a call from Home office asking some general questions about me but laying emphasis on why she stayed longer previously. I had a genuine reason. He said we will get our decision soon. (Call lasted for about 7mins)
10th of March: Email from TLS that document is ready for collection @ 9.24am
12th of March: DHL delivered at 7.17pm
Documents that I submitted
1) Invitation letter
2) 6 months’ pay slip
3) Salary bank statement & Savings Bank statement (total= £5000)
4) Tenancy Agreement
5) My work I.D
6) Copy of my Nigerian passport page & Resident permit, my daughter's passport page ( She's British)
7) 2 utilities bills ( just to show my house address cos it’ appears differently sometimes)
My Birth certificate & My daughter’s birth certificate
9) Some pictures taken on her last visit to England

Documents my mum submitted
1) Her bank statement ( She has about 1.6 million in it with some lump sum, which I explained with evidence) her statement doesn’t really matter but just to be on the safe side
2) Age declaration
3) Her pension letters
4) Her marriage certificate
5) Supporting letter from her
6) My mum & dad’s house documents
7) Consent letter from my dad
I hope and pray everyone expecting theirs will be favoured and receive the good news they’re expecting. Thanks to everyone who has contributed over the years.

am not sure, but if your biometrics date isn't too near, why don't you email them to confirm ( contact form on tls website) they are sort of quick in replying.
I had my enquiry replied within 2 days.
Otherwise, try to sort out some1 you trust to leave your child with as an alternative if she's not allowed.

@giselle237 & anyone that can help, I’m actually done with my application & submission, I would like to however know if I can be allowed into the biometric hall with my 2yr old when I go for my biometrics, mind u, she isn’t applying (US passport holder) cos there’s no one to leave her back home with. I used to know it’s only pple with appointments that have access, but as my child & underage, donno if it would be different.

I am aware of some of the protocol for travelling from UK but that of Nigeria is not that straightforward. If anyone can tell me what I need to do before getting to Nigeria and what I need to do when I get to Nigeria. If anyone can advise me on best flight to take too, I will really appreciate. summary, you need a test before you travel out of uk, isolate in naija i believe & i think a test too in naija (not 100%sure of this one)
am sure some1 who knows it in full details can help you better here

as long as u want assisted service at the centre even if u click submit, the TLS people will be able to un-submit it from their end and add other documents as long as u pay your 11,700

Just go with your debit card. They have POS there. That's what they use. No exchange of cash within the premises for any reason

regarding my prev post. i was able to find a self service slot for monday. but i need an assisted scanning. is it possible to pay for the assisted scanning at ikeja Vac on the day? do they take cash too?
or do we have to pay online only?

cover letter on your MIL's behalf explaining to the visa officer what she does. - we did explain what she does, even provided pics of her pastoring, church registration and all- the church has an account . I even doubt if they read the cover letters.

We will be providing her statements and she does have much more than that in her account to be fair
I'm thinking out loud here, I take it the church doesn't have an account? That could be proof of church's existence. - so do you suggest we provide the church's statement too? - she has it on request

In my personal opinion, if you are looking to re-apply soon, i would advice you to write a cover letter on your MIL's behalf explaining to the visa officer what she does.
I would suggest adding her bank statement.

My mum was denied visiting visa back in 2013, she forgot to submit her bank statement, that said she is employed as a teacher. She applied within a month of the refusal with a cover letter, she was invited for an interview and her visa was approved. She barely had 50k in the statement of account she submitted, since we were sponsoring it didn't matter.

Your MIL's bank statement would show her economic ties, it shows how comfortable she is. Without a full
financial overview in the form of bank statements, the visa officer is filling in the blanks, assuming she isn't comfortable in Nigeria and may be a flight risk.

You need to tackle the unemployment aspect too. She is unemployed but mention that she oversees a church in a voluntary unpaid role, which is the fact. State that however church members who are all aware she is not paid for her selfless service to the church sometimes transfer funds into her account as a token of their appreciation. If she has church leaflets and posters, add them. It shows she has something to go back to, its not unusual to say someone else will look after the church in her absence. good suggestion

Also, the amounts you stated that she lives off is too small, although I don't know the cost of things in Nigeria, but from what I here everyday, it is way too little. If its actually that small, you need to explain.

Think of any other tie as truuuuuuly her economic ties are on ground zero. Also 150k naira committment to her from u in a yr? A year? This is small. Howver the ECO did not say the money is the p. He said he did not find the source of these funds that is said to be her other regular income. This 150k, he cudnt trace the origin plus she is unemployed.

yes we showed all her ties to Nigeria, she is married with proof of wedding certificate and family pics, yes all children birth certs too were provided.
we did put proof of transactions we send to her. i believe the mistake we made was putting that amount with no bank statement to support that - the hassle to explain transactions from other sources on her account put me off truly . but hey, i have learnt
we put that amount because we stated unemployed - when she doesnt work, i didnt think they would expect bigger amounts even though we send much more to her. i wonder what you put if sponsoring for unemployed/retired elderly parent (with no pension) - would they expect much.

Also, as she is a fulltime pastor and no paid salary, is unemployed the correct thing to put or not - what do you think? thanks

ok, guys, i need your input on this, i know before applying, i couldn't get concrete advice off here as it wasn't straight forward.

so my MIL got a refusal , but we intend applying again.. see refusal letter attached.

History,
she is a fulltime pastor, so no salary and doesn't work elsewhere.
she only gets some small money from us monthly and maybe ftom some generous members as well.
so because she isn't paid a salary, I've put unemployed but stated she got regular allowance from us up to 150k/yr.
We mentioned this in the cover letter that it wasnt always regular and submitted proof of these payments to her.

We didnt include her bank statements as we didnt think it will be necessary and any large free will money from others can raise alarm.

So now we want to apply again.
1. do we say self employed or still unemployed? and put her bank statements but also annotate transactions from us to her with detailed explanations. if self employed, does she need to provide proof of this employment?

2. do we say unemployed and say no other source of income, so no bank statements? doesn't that just muddle things up as we've put yes in the previous application.

looks like refusal was mainly on her other income source, no issues seen from our side and it's fully sponsored trip for 45days
some1 please help me with advice or ideas o.

Standing ovation for you. I like people with financial understanding. As far as the kids are safe in Nigeria, leave them there for now and bring them later. It doesnt matter when they want to apply. If the dad has ILR, and there’s a birth certificate showing that he is their dad, they can join anytime when you’re financially able to.

By His Grace, you both may even have the money to bring them even before the ILR. He is lucky to have a wife like you that understands priorities.

also, because of the huge cost of applying for 3 children with hubby's flr m, we have decided to apply for just his. the children are still in nigeria.
is it possible for them to apply with him when applying for ILR instead? and what application will that be please? ilr or settle as a dependant.

because to us, application for them when he applies for Ilr will save us paying 2x for application (2.5yrs then ilr) and the huge health surchage fee.

you will

1. do test in nigeria to board
2. do 2 tests on day 2 & 8 (u av to pay b4 arriving uk)
3. do another test b4 coming to nigeria
4. u do another test after 7 days in nigeria

all these tests cost roughly ₦305,000:00

why cant they just close there borders.
These people too like money...highly greedy set of homosapiens.

those who travelled from the 15th of feb, how true is this. or what's this process of paying £210 before you can board?
what i don't understand is if it is the total cost for both day 2 & day 8 compulsory covid test on arrival.

For the assisted service at Ikeja, after the documents are scanned by them, do they still keep the documents (original/photocopies)? Obviously the passport is taken, what else please and what's returned to you on the day of biometrics?

We will reduce it then to 3-4 months i think.
No am not, hubby and I are both writing a letter to support/sponsor the application. I earn above the minimum financial requirement compared to Hubby , so I was going be the main sponsor, whilst hubby supports me.

You are most likely setting her for a visa denial. 5 months is a lot, they do not expect her to stay that long. They are not expecting her to come take care of your kid. Mention a lesser duration instead of 5 month. The visa would already be valid for 6 months anyway.

Also why are you the sole sponsor? It seems better to make it a collective thing I.e to include your hubby since you would better submitting his statement as well. Just write a sponsorship letter that you both would sponsor. Just an advise. Bank balance isn’t always the major factor they look at. For you know, I hav submitted same application with just pay slips and no bank statements and was approved within 1 week for both parents.

No she doesn't. This will be her 1st visa application. we can reduce it to 4 months if needed. To be honest, she won't be able to stay up to 5 months
If we reduced it to 4 months, will £4000 be a reasonable amount to state in the application for her expenses by us?

I am currently putting all required documents together to invite my MIL fora period of 5 months in March just before my expected delivery date. I have put on the letter a total of £4000 to cover all expenses (as a full sponsor). Will the ECO think this is going to be sufficient for 5months or not?
I will be submitting mine & hubbys savings account statement too with a total balance of £17k
