EastAlchemist: Wahala=trouble correct? Ok, so was I right or wrong that you were mocking the Lord? If so, then why? Yes sir, you better believe I know I'm blessed...too many times I might say. I don't mock my Lord and Savior--which is what differentiates us.. |

awoluyi: Very beautifully written.....something's terribly wrong...and it boils down to a spiritual issue. Surrender to God, character transformation etc.. I needed to see this because righteous indignation was building up in me....in an almost fleshly manner. True words for any Christian living in any country. |

Prayers should NEVER, EVER CEASE when dealing with this country. Satan's throne is situated right there in Nigeria.... He even rules the continent of Africa from there, I promise you. There are high ranking principalities assigned to Nigeria...and will fight to death before they leave. Spiritual wickeness is high places is an understatement folks... Stay armoured up...Ephesians 6:10-18 (KJV) It's extremely easy to get discouraged...even for me who's not ever lived there before. I feel like I've lived there thouhh. But GOD.....but GOD...but GOD Don't give up saints... |

Mercy...mercy...mercy... I can't even imagine. It's nothing, and I mean nothing but the grace and Spirit of God that is keeping my mouth from saying what my "flesh" wants to.... Lord have mercy....please on Nigeria. |

I don't get this, but I say this kindly. Mocking a powerful scripture passage... Not a good idea. If you are sleepy, then go to sleep. No need to mock.....so unnecesssry and disrespectful. You are blessed, I'm sure, because of the prayers of others. The Lord is so patient, long-suffering and kind towards the undeserving... |

Religion / Re: What’s Your Go To Scripture When Things Aren’t Going The Way You Want? by Eviana(f): 2:05pm On Feb 26, 2023 |
Oh....tough question for me in a sense. I apologize for my "long-winded-ness" aka "epistles" as Nigerians tend to say. I tend to think of multiple scriptures for certain categories: I tend to always keep Isaiah 54:17 (KJV) as my protection scripture. But if things don't seem to be going my way pertaining to a specific situation-- in the way that I fully believe it should go--I go to Romans 8:28 (KJV) "And we know that ALL things work together for good to THEM that LOVE God and are THE CALLED according to His purpose." So looking at that scripture, one can see the conditions--and the allowance of God's will --for whatever needs be in the specfic situation- to take precedence. It's kinda like a selfless-ness that has to join with the believer's perceived thoughts regardless of the outcome. I have to remember that IF I am daily striving--with the Lord's help--to live a life pleasing to Christ, then I can rest assured on His promises through scripture. |
Religion / Re: Sincere Christians, Place Your Eyes Back On The Savior Of The World by Eviana(f): 4:35pm On Feb 20, 2023 |
I know that this is a very intense week for Nigerians....emotions on 100. As the country is weighing so heavily on my heart, I went back to this thread I created in 2020 when my country had just announced the election results. Nigerians--especially the Christians--were so heavily invested. The results did not reveal what so many believed "was a sure thing", "a done deal". All I want to say, as I am not a political junkie, is that just as Nigeria and the world were watching our elections back in 2020, a massive portion of the world is watching yours.... very intently. More prayers have and are going up for this specific election probably more than any election in the past 10 years or so. However, I say to you "now" what I said to you above in 2020: The Almighty Lord sits on His throne and still is, was and forever will be God NO MATTER THE RESULTS. Pray for His Will to be done--even if you have a specific candidate. We can never fully know the mind of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel. He graciously allows us to know what we NEED to know for now. Nothing escapes God---nothing at all. No devices of men, affairs of men, motives--be they good or bad etc...nothing. And you guys need to know that. Know that Nigeria is being heavily lifted to the Lord concerning the 25th. The same scriptures I left above I will leave here. Romans 8:28 (KJV) 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Psalm 75:5-7 (KJV) 6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. 7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another. Proverbs 15:3 (KJV) 3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. Psalm 118:8 (KJV) 8 It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man Be encouraged.... |
Nairaland / General / Re: Check Out This Black-Throated Monitor Lizard I Bought In Gombe (Pictures) by Eviana(f): 3:56pm On Feb 20, 2023 |
Good-looking...perhaps.....delicious...umm Wow! I like how you did this Op, I must admit. You asked a question and then listed facts about this interesting looking creature. My first time ever hearing about the monitor lizard was through this site. I am terrified of the animals because of how they look and move...snake-like. They look like they could bite or sting terribly. I saw a documentary about a particular type of people in Nigeria--and it showed the men hunting for specific animals. On what they thought was the specific animal they were hunting, was instead a monitor lizard--albeit much smaller than this one here. The one guy cut off the tail and started eating it RAW He seemed very satisfied. I couldn't believe it! Anyhow, I can't see someone walking it with a leash, but then again, anything can happen in Nigeria I guess. I, of course, would hope you'd either keep it as a pet that you could treat very well OR free it back to its natural habitat.... Notice I omitted "eating it" as an option. Pepper soup, perhaps, without meat--but loaded with veggues-- seems nice. However, you guys must have iron-clad stomachs to eat this type of animal...and not suffer digestion issues. |

Lukuluku69: Sir, This will be my final reply on the thread to you. I need to reply because it is extremely important that I acknowledge your comment other than a "like". You replied like a grown man--which I appreciate, so I need to humbly and gracefully acknowledge that. I'm calm now..thank you for understanding my emotions due to a lot of what you wrote. Men and women, unfortunately, express extreme emotions on this platform daily. Your apology is forgiven and appreciated. I did not think you were gonna actually give one. My "assumption"--in my head--was proven wrong. Perhaps since she has now been allegedly revealed as a female, it's our similar emotions. Our beliefs, however, couldn't be any further apart than they already are. I have said that the person behind that moniker is the most dangerous person in the religion section because of the use of scripture being twisted. She's on my prayer list--been there for awhile. Since you are reading the bible, I would advise you to go back in Genesis and read God's design for marriage and then the entire accounts of Abraham and Jacob. Genesis is rather extensive, but you will find it I'm sure. Yep, they engaged in polygamy...but go back and read what God originally stated. Read the entire context and not just cherry-pick certain parts that support your desires. I think that you are so passionate about your religion's beliefs that you have superimposed them on mine. You have decided to not understand what I have written because your mind is closed. I spoke about God's will vs. God's permissive will vs. man's "free-will"... all totally different things. I'll leave it there. You be blessed and again, "thank you" for apologizing. 1 Like |

Lukuluku69, I went to investigate you to see if I could find evidence about my theory that you were not a Christian. Gotcha-- found it on a thread about a man asking Mr. Daddy Freeze about having sex with his numerous wives at the same time or something. On that thread you stated that you are a "Muslim" and could answer a particular poster's question/statement. No way could a bible-believing Christian be fighting as hard as you were about polygamy when the bible states otherwise. You claimed you read the bible for 40 years....if so, then when you pray sincerely for the Holy Spirit to guide you, He will do so and grant you understanding of His Word, discernment and also change your heart. Are Muslim men supposed to be conversing with Christian women in public and online? I would like to know cause I'm unaware of all of the rules. You are not representing Islam well at all to a non-believer as myself...and I am dead serious. Let me just end it right here..... I surely hope I don't get banned. Hope you have a peaceful rest. P.S. I accept and forgive you for falsely implying that I am another moniker because you were enraged about my comments. |
Religion / Re: Why Do Westerners Hate Polygamy But Embrace Homosexuality? by Eviana(f): 7:58pm On Feb 13, 2023 |
Lukuluku69: Wow...40 years? God blessed them for being polygamous? Ok.... It would have been nice to have listed scripture and context of each of the men above--and how some of them got multiple wives. Culture--not God's Word--is what ruled... I, sir cannot point you to God's wrath-- because as I said before, humans are "free-will" agents in Christianity..which you should know. Because He allowed it and didn't strike anybody dead immediately who engaged in it, doesn't mean that He condoned it. I also never said God destroyed societies because of polygamy. I said He never sanctioned it. Again, please re-read my first comment on the thread. Look at the consequences for choices we-humans have made which had negative, long lasting destructive results. It's ok....we can agree to disagree. Polygamy works for you---and your family... |
Religion / Re: Why Do Westerners Hate Polygamy But Embrace Homosexuality? by Eviana(f): 7:50pm On Feb 13, 2023 |
Doremii: See you're not giving scripture... But that's ok. You're uncomfortable. Is that your experience as a polygamist or product of a polygamous family? |
Religion / Re: Why Do Westerners Hate Polygamy But Embrace Homosexuality? by Eviana(f): 7:46pm On Feb 13, 2023 |
Lukuluku69: Nope, I cannot. I never said that He destroyed a polygamous person or society. If you read my initial comment and discern it very clearly, you would see where my issue lies. Please re-read it slowly. Your guess would be 1000 percent wrong. I've had interactions on a few occasions (none of which were positive or fruitful) with Kobojunkie-- whom I didn't know she's a "she"-- in the past. Anyone with a mustard seed of spiritual discernment would know without a doubt that we are not the same. I even got a thread banned which was addressed as "Letter to Kobojunki" a few years back. Soon as I wrote it, it was immediately hidden. I don't create monikers in order to engage in a Hegelian dialectic manner--in order to pass an agenda. I don't create an outrageous, fantastical trolling moniker only to have another moniker converse with it. Only those that do that know exactly why they do it. I am not a part of the Nairaland "elite". I am me. Every thread and comment I make, I actually mean in real life and would tell you so if I ever would meet you in real life. I have my Creator watching me (although I do misbehave sometimes) and that means a whole lot to me. My active monikers here are E viana and E viana3 and I am a very real woman behind them. I've probably had a total of about 6-7 former monikers all of whom are deactivated. There are folks who have conversed with me offline several times through phone calls a few years back who could (if honest) confirm that. Nice try, but if you want Kobjunkie to come on here, just bring her on over without trying to make me appear fraudulent and low-key start mess. I get it: you advocate for polygamy-- the more wives the merrier. One million wives and 10 million children. To each his own. I stand by my words: God never sanctioned polygamy. Nice meeting you sir |

Lateefadewale: So I angered you this much that you had to mention me in order to speak vile, misogynistic words? Do you feel better? I was gonna ignore you, but compassion is what my heart is telling me you nèed. Fully surrender your life to Jesus, Lateef....He's waiting on you. Your life won't change until you do. MODIFIED: Wow...I just went to read in your diary and it confirmed what I wrote! I could sense, through your words, that you're an angry individual-- and after having just glanced through your diary, I see why. Anger and bitterness will kill you physically, emotionally and spiritually. Will be praying for you... |

Doremii: So now we get to the truth. It's what you "think" rather than the truth. I have no issue with your opinion...you definitely have a right to it. But you drug God into and said He approves....that's where I have to question you. I don't know if comparisons are needed between polygamy and homosexuality. The bible is clear on the sin of homosexuality--as it is with every other sin listed 1Cor. 6:9-11 (KJV) How the Lord feels about homosexuality Romans 1:24-28 (KJV) Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed because the city had fully transformed into debauchery----all sin was there (lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life). The Bible, does highlight and record the men pursuing Lot and the angels for sex--instead of his daughters--and that was the final straw for the Lord.. Destruction had to come. However, the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah--pretty much resemble most of the U.S. and other cities--cough, cough "Lagos" cough....in other countries--cough Nigeria--cough--on other continents--cough Africa Do you remember that I had asked you for scriptures about the polygamous patriarchs that God never sanctioned? I am curious cause I may have missed it while reading the Word. |

Doremii: Really? It is normal? Oh, but he does frown at it. May I have examples of the patriarchs other than Abraham? Abraham's rash and erratic decision to do so ripped up his family..began a bloodline/lineage that wars to this day. King Solomon's spiritual life was severely damaged by his horrendous polygamous harem/community/nation of women. What God does is grant mercy and grace over a horrifically sinful and erring world. However, I'm not excusing homosexuality. God has clearly labeled it a sin...worthy of eternal damnation if not confessed and repented of. I understand what you are saying, but I think you are lessening the problems/consequences of polygamy. |

Yep....I was right. Something's definitely off with him. He's bound spiritually. He's busy using scriptures to fight against "returning of the tithes" as if he's at war---but won't use scripture in order to advocate his sinful belief in pre-marital sex in order to test whether a person is marriage material ? Is he really serious? Maybe he's playing around... He won't use scripture to support his sinful desire/belief because there is none. Rather the bible advocates against adultery and fornication...so much so that those who continue engaging in them without confession and repentance will NOT enter into the Kingdom--will not have eternal life. Prayers for Mr. Freeze |

genkins: Although your "hair curling" line was hilarious and true, I don't live there in Naija nor have I attended any church of your above description of pastors. I don't even like the terms "GO's", spiritual fathers and mothers, first lady etc. Pastor, "sister", "brother", elder, etc. are respectful enough without placing a person on a pedastal that is designed only for theLord. Anyhow, from what I have researched and seen on YouTube, alot of Naija "pastors" are also like Mr. Freeze...in terms of lack of Godly wisdom and knowledge of God's word. I am equal opportunity regardless of the following--black, white, purple, green, red, blue, American, Nigerian, European, Indian, Asian, Adventist, Baptist, Pentacostal, Catholic, Orthodox etc. If what the clergy--of any of the above-- says is not to the law and the testimony of the Lord's Word, then there's no light in them. God's Word is my measuring stick. Prayers for them all. |

I would love to have a no "holds-barred "sit-down spiritual convo with this guy. I checked out his You Tube channel --either 2021 or 2022--a few times and got half-way through some of his videos. I don't undestand the meaning of his name, but I found out he has a church group or so. His personality seems very personable, charming and lively. He appears to be approachable---and intelligent. BUT...the Godly wisdom...the spiritual discernment....the Godly understanding...the Holy Spirit.....? With all due respect he's missing the mark in a whole lot of areas. 9 Likes |
