Religion / Re: Courage From Their Cowardice by Eviana(f): 2:51pm On Sep 29, 2021
Part 3
COURAGE

I must admit: I am deeply drawn towards courageous people. It is an attractive trait and many do not posses it. I admire those people who are personally willing to give their lives for a cause that ultimately will benefit unnumbered lives.

We have either seen or read about certain instances numerous times throughout earth's existence.
While I may not have agreed with all of the situations, the one thing the leaders had in common was "courage".

Let me clarify "courageous". Meaning those persons who stand for a righteous cause to the point of death. "Righteous" meaning, a cause that does no harm to others, and demands basic civil rights for all. Even more importantly, hopefully the cause glorifies the Lord God.

"Courage" as defined by Merriam- Webster's dictionary, is the
"mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty"

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary

For Christians, "Godly courage" minus the praise and applause from people really is NOT an option. It is a mandate. One cannot serve  the Lord and be cowardly. Not a reckless courage that only displays with a crowd once the dust from a storm settles. Yes, and although it is a fact that "love" (the Fruit of the Spirit displayed in one's life) characterizes a disciple of Christ, we have been given a message to boldly give to the world: Jesus saves!

There's an old secular adage (which I am paraphrasing) that says the worst thing a great person can do is be silent when he/she knows a situation is wrong. I am guilty of having done that a few times in my life...and have tried to not repeat that cowardice deliberately in my adult life. I may even be on the other end of the spectrum now.
May one, however, never find oneself in a situation where one sits idly by--due to fear-- and does or says nothing.
Courage will be needed in these last days for those professing Christ.

God expects His children to rightfully represent Him and to proclaim His message to a sin-sick, hopeless, dying world. That takes courage.
He also expects His professed children to encourage, comfort, strengthen, lovingly rebuke and defend one another against attacks from the enemy. That takes courage.

To Be Continued...
Examples of courage vs. cowardice of certain people in certain situations in the Bible and how we "can" or "cannot" display those. The Bible is given to us as an ensample..

Dangerousboy:
QUALITY TIME; KEY TO INTIMACY

James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you....

When we spend time with someone, our relationship with them deepens.

It's not just enough to give gifts to your loved ones, you must spend time with them. Gifts can't substitute quality time.

Parents spend time with your Children to know them better. The upbringing of your Child is your responsibility and not that of the society. spend time with your spouse, that's how you know them.

Now you can't go far in the things of the Spirit if you don't spend time with him. The extent to which God manifest himself to/through is tantamount to the amount of time you spend with him in prayer and the word.

Spend time with God, and spend qualitative time with your loved ones also.

Hope you don't mind me commenting?
The Holy Spirit reminded me that I had been encouraging you before... and to continue doing so. The battle is not carnal nor is it against flesh and blood...

Anyhow, beautifully written...

Beautifully written...

SonofIssachar:

The Lord is my boss, and I shall not want.

He gives me peace when chaos is all around me.

He reminds me to pray before I speak in anger.

He restores my sanity.

He guides my decisions that I might honor Him in all I do.

Even though I face absurd amounts of e-mail, system failures, copier

jams, back-ordered supplies, unrealistic deadlines, staff shortages,

budget cutbacks, red tape, downsizing, gossiping co-workers and

whining customers, I won’t give up, for You are with me.

Your presence, peace and power will see me through.

You raise me up, even when the boss fails to promote me.

You claim me as your own, even when the company threatens to let me go.

Your loyalty and love are better than a bonus check.

Your retirement plan beats any 401K, and when it’s all said and done,

I’ll be working for you a whole lot longer!

Their predicament is similar to that of the people of the south east in Nigeria under the terror of the Talibans of the South East.
But Afghan Talibans are far better because they have different types of punishment which is not limited to killing unlike the Talibans of the south east whose only punishment for any offence is death.

Your comment (paid or not) is another reason why Islam is labeled like it is. It sickens me (looking from the outside in) to see comments like yours...
You are helping further degrade Nigeria to the outside world (which has major implications)....hope you know.

Don't bring the Southeast into it. They have nothing to do with the thread at all.
The thread is about the Taliban in Afghanistan and they are horrific.

Just like Nigerians enjoy being ruled by corrupt people

Maybe Stockholm syndrome has paralyzed Nigerians.
Or perhaps they're too afraid to stand up for fear of reprisal....torture or death. Very, very few people have the courage of __________ & __________& ______. etc.,not fearing death because they have a passion and fire inside of them...whether one walks with them or not. Leaders ready to die for the greater cause of the people.
Fear paralyzes.....alienation.....ostracization.....
misrepresentation...lies....etc. the majority cannot handle that.
As I look from the outside in, I keep wondering why has Nigeria become so problematic and depressing?
I dare to say it's because of the above..

It is so Funny right now that Everything that was termed " Conspiracy " is now live. Yet many are still Sheepishly heading to their Destruction.

Australia as we speak is in a state worse than Military rule all in the Name of Vaccination. People are being arrested, bullied and treated anyhow for not taking the Jab. Infact the Australia health minister boldly said they are preparing for the NWO.

Mandates have been given in various states in the USA and other nations. Italy begins theirs October 15, other nations and places also have theirs btw October and Dec1. Many have been sacked in the USA for this Jab.

If you Listened to the speech of the UN Secretary General, you would have clearly seen that they are making way for appearance of the Antichrist on the World Stage.

In a nut shell, christians should stop discriminating, some will even go to the extent of not allowing their members to marry from another denomination.

Were you interested in scripture--pertaining to marriage between Christians and unbelievers--or was your thread to just vent your personal frustration with all due respect? Are you wanting to marry outside of your religion and looking to justify it?

Also, and not trying to be harsh, but your parents could not have been "devout" in their religions if they deliberately walked into marriage with (2) very different religious belief systems in which one would have to compromise to the other. Not to be discriminatory, but there are certain foundational beliefs that (2) people in a marriage cannot compromise on.

Proverbs 12: 2-3, 5-7, 9-10, 13, 15-23 (NLT)

2 The Lord approves of those who are good,
but he condemns those who plan wickedness.

3 Wickedness never brings stability,
but the godly have deep roots.

5 The plans of the godly are just;
the advice of the wicked is treacherous
.

6 The words of the wicked are like a murderous ambush,
but the words of the godly save lives
.

7 The wicked die and disappear,
but the family of the godly stands firm.

9 Better to be an ordinary person with a servant
than to be self-important but have no food.

10 The godly care for their animals,
but the wicked are always cruel.

13 The wicked are trapped by their own words,
but the godly escape such trouble
.

15 Fools think their own way is right,
but the wise listen to others.

16 A fool is quick-tempered,
but a wise person stays calm when insulted.

17 An honest witness tells the truth;
a false witness tells lies

18 Some people make cutting remarks,
but the words of the wise bring healing
.

19 Truthful words stand the test of time,
but lies are soon exposed
.

20 Deceit fills hearts that are plotting evil;
joy fills hearts that are planning peace
!

21 No harm comes to the godly,
but the wicked have their fill of trouble
.

22 The Lord detests lying lips,
but he delights in those who tell the truth
.

23 The wise don’t make a show of their knowledge,
but fools broadcast their foolishness
Religion / Re: When The Doors Are Closed Against You by Eviana(f): 11:49am On Sep 27, 2021
SonofIssachar:

We need to learn to praise the Lord as much for a closed-door as we do an open door. The reason God closes doors is because He has not prepared anything over there for us. If he didn’t close the wrong door, we would never find the right door.

God directs our path through the closing and opening of doors. Once a door closes, it forces you to change your course. Another door closes, it forces you to change your course again. Then, finally, you find the open door and you walk right into your blessing.

The Lord directs our paths through the opening and closing of doors, but instead of praising him for the closed door (which keeps us out of trouble); we get upset because we “judge by the appearances.”

You have an ever-present help in the time of trouble that is always standing guard. Because He walks ahead of you, He can spot trouble down the road and set up a roadblock or detour accordingly. But through our lack of wisdom, we try to tear down the roadblocks or push aside the detour sign.

Then the minute we get into trouble, we start crying, “Lord, how could You have done this to me?”

We have got to realize that the closed door can be a blessing. Didn’t He say that no good thing would He withhold from them that love Him?

If you get terminated from your job, praise God for the new opportunities that will manifest themselves: it might be another job, it might be school.

If that man or woman won’t return your call, it might not be them, it might be the Lord setting up a roadblock (just let it go).

We can sometimes trap ourselves in doubt and discouragement through judging by appearances. Be grateful for the many times our Father has closed doors to us just to open them in the most unexpected places.

The Lord won’t always say in spoken words: “Go to the left, now to the right…” sometimes He will just close the doors that are wrong for you.

In the above bolded sentence the correct word in parentheses "ignorance", is being used as a noun (a particular term called a part of speech) in the English language.

Over on your other "White Supremacy.." thread where you refused to cite the author as I asked, the correct use of the word (which I corrected for you) was "ignorant" which would then be an adjective (another type of a "part of speech"wink

Pick up the money and give it back the pastor..
Do not pocket it. That would make you a thief..
which is against God's character.
A blessing wouldn't come in a manner where you would "rob Peter to pay Paul" type of situation.
The pastor would probably be utterly embarrassed and perhaps hand it to you anyway. Who knows?

God would deal with the pastor and you would still be blessed regardless.
