Religion / Re: Deeper Life Completes Its Headquarters Church Which Is The World's 4th Largest.. by Eviana(f): 2:59pm On Jan 25, 2023
Mr. Olaadegbu,

I remember seeing this thread at some point in this section a few years ago and was like "hmmmmm..."
Honestly my first reaction was like lipsrsealed

Anyhow, are Higher Everyday, Daily Manna, Sincere Milk etc. all devotionals written by Pastor Kumuyi? I get confused cause so many devotionals are in this section. You heavily promote this particular pastor. Just curious as to why?

Is this church non-denominational/pentacostal like Pastor Adeboye's? I'm curious to know more of Pastor Kumuyi's background/calling? All I know is that he's in the U.K. and I think he renounced some doctrines he either created or had been wrongly teaching or something. I saw the title of a thread here in the Religion section a few years back. I never read through it though.
It seems as if he does a lot of crusades.

I'm definitely gonna prayerfully do "outside" biblical research on him--the good, bad and the ugly.
What I find that's scripturally misinterpreted, I'll take to Christ in prayer.

I desire to be offended into Heaven....as all followers of Christ should be....if or when I'm in error. The Holy Spirit through the the scriptures convicts....
Cause after all, we don't know it "all". Correct?

Good morning,
Ms. Eviana

E viana, I am not a member of your Seventh Day Adventist.

Sir,
If you clearly read my mention, I clearly wrote that you were NOT an adventist.
It is overwhelmingly and glaringly apparent (from the few threads I glanced at) that you are NOT nor have ever been an adventist..with all due respect.
I asked if you were a Hebrew Israelite?
That was part of my question
....

But if you don't want to answer and it's top secret, then that's ok.
That's all you had to say.
Wasn't my intention to offend you. I had been curious for a few years now and saw that someone else had just asked so I jumped on board.
I like for folks to give a respectfully direct and straightforward answer.
If you can't, then you just can't.
Let me thank you though for replying me.

P.S. I guess I'm gonna have to let "Google" be my friend in order to get one portion of an answer, but this is gonna be a challenge I see.

This morning I was just reading Psalm 37 (KjV).
Now I see why.
Christians, be encouraged, hold on and trust in the Lord.....even in persecution...and ultimately death.
You know what awaits you.
Prayers for the priests' families, friends and parishioners etc.
Nigeria is under massive demonic captivity....and not to sound spooky....but honestly.....principalities have dominion in that nation. Spiritual warfare......being ramped up now more than ever. No wonder there is a curse there.....have mercy Lord.
Never seen anything like this is my life.
Again, the world sees (and knows the truth) and most importantly the Lord Jesus Christ.

I'm sincerely curious to know your religion/faith as well.
I can't read through all of your numerous threads....
You honor the biblical Sabbath as I've seen for some years now, yet I know you are not Seventh-day Adventist--with all due respect.
You don't seem to get the abuse from other monikers that my denomination receives on the forum.
I was thinking you were more along the lines of Hebrew Israelite minus the rage, profanity and racism.

I'm sure I'm "daft", but someone said a Muslim man can marry a Christian woman, but a Muslim woman can't marry a Christian man?

How does that work since Muslims (which I have assumed) typically only marry Muslims? What goes on with the belief systems in a mixed home?

So assuming you met Apostle Paul who was single through out his lifetime, you will ask him to fast from dawn to night to break marital delay!

Marriage is not the most important issue in life. The most important issue is fulfilling your destiny.

If marriage will hinder you from fulfilling your destiny, then it is better to delay marriage until you fufill your destiny or not to marry at all like Apostle Paul.

Unfortunately, people like you have turn marriage to the fulcrum of life which is against the teachings of the Bible.

Well stated.....was looking for an answer like this.
This was stated in a way as to not hurt the OP, but bring honest truth to a culturally indoctrinated standard.
Nigeria (like the majority of developing nations) has made "marriage"-- which can be a beautiful thing if God-ordained-- an idol.

Do you have a beautiful character, good manners, beauty or handsomeness, yet you are still single and unmarried? Or even if your character is not too good, yet those whom your character is better than are married with kids, yet you are still unmarried..

I will show reasons why you spiritual Reasons why you are single, and solutions.. (Make sure your repent and follow Jesus first)

Reasons
(1) Being Caged By the power of self-marriage. Some people may be married to themselves spiritually, and this may cause them to loose interest or might make them careless with pursuing marriage.

Solution: Fast between 12pm in the afternoon to 4am midnight, then pray and destroy the covenants, curses and foundation of the power of self marriage(pray for at least 4hours). Complete solution.

(2) Marriage to spirit spouses (spirit wife or spirit husband). This is a common issue known by many. It sometimes come with regular or periodic sex in the dream with a demon appearing with strange or familiar faces. This hinders marriage alot.

Solution: Fast from 12pm in the afternoon till 6am in the morning the next day....Prayer point: Break covenants, curses and spells linking you to spirit spouse, and destroy every dedication and foundation created for you with the spirit wife or husband.

(3) Power of Marital Delay: This may be caused by spiritual padlocks, witchcraft powers etc.. It may lead to undue wait or failure of marriage fulfilment, or may cause lingering wedding process..

Solution: Fast from 12:00 pm in the afternoon till 4:00 am the next day morning. Prayer point: I destroy every mystery of darkness of the power of marital Delay. I destroy the foundation of marital delay (4hours prayer)...

This insight is gotten from experience and from spiritual person or persons.

"Does CARM recommend the Seventh-day Adventist Church?"

There are too many problems within Seventh-day Adventism to recommend it as a safe and healthy church.

See more at: http://ow.ly/zaAp50MiOVx

Good morning,
I have "0" clue what "CARM" means, but whose ultimate opinion that matters is the Lord Jesus Christ's. Does HE recommend the church?
I will make no more comments on this thread because you clearly sir have an agenda. This seems very personal....mercy.

One thing---and I mean the only thing-- that I find admirable (although troubling in many ways) is the fact that the other religion stands united---regardless of right or wrong.

As Christians, regardless of denominational membership, the primary focus is on Jesus Christ.
That means even if I disagee with some of a denomination's doctrine, I don't go on a crusade to castigate and slander it to the world.
This is why folks of other religions or no alleged belief, have a field day roasting Christianity.

I have agreed with many scripturally-based comments from several questionable denominations (including yours--if you are a servant of Christ--or the one you heavily promote on another thread) and of which I had never heard of until I joined this site---yet still don't disparage or say that they shouldn't be recommended. It boggles my mind how the majority of Nigerian denominations both in Nigeria and in the UK even name the name of Christ with the alleged doctrines they teach? I've read countless, disturbing and grievous misinterpretations of scripture by people naming the name of Christ, the mixing of traditional Nigerian culture with the Word of God, abuse of scriptures and so forth. Never seen so much confusion in my life. It's enough to make one's head spin, BUT I chalk it up to two things: 1). a person's in error or 2). tons of false prophers and self appointed men of God abound.....hmmmm.

Your issue isn't with the Seventh-day Adventist church nor is it your enemy. Your enemy is the adversary of souls--satan.
But if you have a disagreement, kindly and respectfully discuss the issue with the people rather than go and disparage them to the world. Not Christlike at all.
Be very careful to acknowledge who the real enemy is, as you think you are fighting for the Lord. Don't do a Paul when he was "Saul". No Christian is above reproach.

You be blessed.....will keep you in my prayers.
Don't know if I should call you a "brother in Christ" or not? I hope there's no hard feelings. Not gonna battle you....just trying to discourage you from playing the role of "accuser of the brethren" if that's not your intention.

Garlic is such a superpower herb--I dare say the #1 superpower--in terms of its benefits to the body.
The only downside is the odor that emits from one's pores when consuming the raw garlic right from the bulb...which actually is the best way to consume it.
The odor is stomach-turning. I've been in many folks' presence and the garlic smell was so offensive.
It wasn't just the breath--it was the whole body, which tells you how powerful garlic is.
They have some '"odor-less" capsules on the market, but I, personally, question the potency of those.
I take the powder form of raw garlic in capsules at a certain time of day so as not offend those I come into contact with.

I have seen more wickedness in this country than you can now imagine. She told me I should not look at the wickedness of men. I should accept Jesus and be going to church.

I told her, I don't belong to Christiandom. But until this so called Nigeria pastors start preaching love and start practicing that same love they preach, I will not listen or see them as men of God. sad

THE MESSAGE

I recently walk up to her. I asked her, do you know that there are more church in Nigeria than anywhere in the world?

Yes, she nodded.

Nigerians have more religious centers and practice more Christian spirituality than anywhere in the world. They go to church always. They pray a lot. They sow seed and pay tithe to pastors always and believe in God more than the white men. But their ways and daily life is more closer to that of the devil than of God. undecided

Take a look at the white men. They are not that religious like we Nigerians. They don't practice spirituality like the average African black man. But their ways of virtue and disciplinary lifestyle is more purer and closer to God than that of the black men

The scriptures (Mathew 5:8] clearly says; Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Forgive me, but I cut a chunk of your message out, but read through it in its entirety.

There's a big difference between "pressuring" and "threatening". Perhaps she actually sincerely cares for your soul.....and sees/knows the path you are on is deadly.
You may look up one day and not have her "pressure" you anymore. I don't think it's necessarily a romantic thing as other posters said or at least I hope not.

With all due respect, be careful when painting a race with one broad stroke. If you have neither been born in or lived a significant amount of time in a country where your ethnicity is the minority-- then I think it's unwise to make that last bolded statement/paragraph. Not a true statement at all. You can't say that when you haven't experienced all folks of one ethnicity and all folks of another ethnicity.
I get it--- we, black folks, have a ton--and I mean a ton of issues period. It almost (and I said "almost"wink seems as if we're cursed in a sense. But, there are a ton of issues for the other folks too.

I get your frustration-- which is quadruple mine given that you are--I'm assuming--(born, raised and living there in Nigeria--non of which I have).

But your anger and frustration is heavily misplaced. Blaming (1) religion for a country's problem, when there are delusional and deranged folks in every religion is faulty and unfair.

Churches aren't the problem--- people are.
Jesus isn't the problem-- people are.
Unconverted, stubborn, and disobedient people-- which we all fit into the category many times.

Maybe, just maybe you ought to accept that invitation for once.......or better yet repeat everything you wrote here to the God you are ultimately angry with....

It might actually help you begin to heal.

Religion / Re: I Stop Going To Church Because No Pastor As Been Able To Explain This Bible Vers by Eviana(f): 8:39pm On Jan 16, 2023
I like how you gave a thorough context pertaining to the "why's" of the concept of judgment. This (and your other post) was written beautifully.
Emeraldicon:

“It is appointed that human beings die once, and after this the judgment” (Heb 9:27). The scriptures have made it abundantly clear that once you die comes judgement. This is a judgement between you and your creator. If your name is not found in the book of life you know immediately your destination. This judgement is what is refered to as individual judgement. At death the spirit is separated from the body and it's the soul that's judge immediately.

The final judgement will come when Christ returns, that's when the body and the soul will be reunited and the entire world will be judged.

. “There is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known. Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be proclaimed on the housetops” (Lk 12:2-3), Jesus warned. When the Lord comes again, St. Paul declared, “He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will manifest the motives of our hearts” (1 Cor 4:5).

Why must this reckoning be public? When we confess all the details of our lives before Christ and the rest of the human race, and when others do the same in our presence, we will all be forced to recognize and admit the full effects on others of what we have done and what we have failed to do. Justice requires such recognition and admission.

Yet mercy plays a role here as well. To face the truth and confess it, drinking the cup of shame all the way to its dregs before a watching world, will be a painful reckoning. But for the friends of God, it can serve as part of the purging process necessary to prepare them for heaven.

At the same time, on that day God’s friends will find it easier to forgive. As the full picture of their lives is unveiled, they will finally come to appreciate the struggles of those who offended them: the burdens they had to carry, the wounds they suffered from the sins of others and the limitations placed on them by circumstances hidden to view.

Another important consequence of this public judgment is that it will reveal to everyone the love and wisdom of God’s providence in all things. How many times in this life, when adversity tests us, are we tempted to wonder whether God really cares for us, or whether He truly knows what He’s doing? In the Last Judgment, we will be able to see all the factors in God’s determinations, all the aspects of His plan.

On that day we will be able to say to Him: “At last I understand; Your dealings with me finally make sense to me. When bad things happened, I needed faith to trust that You had not abandoned me. But now my faith has become sight.”

Justice demands that divine Providence be vindicated. The general judgment provides such vindication.

Just do a simple Google search about the two kinds of judgement and you can come to your conclusion if there are or not.

The book of John-- the absolute most important rendition of Jesus Christ, out of the 4 synoptic gospels.....the one that should NOT be ignored...regardless of if a church reads it or not. That church is not the standard for reading the Word of God.

No wonder the person above would advise the OP to reject it.

I was reading my Bible and I come across this bible verse. I ask so many pastor to explain this verse but all are just saying something else, cause the bible verse was very specific. I guess because it doesn't align with there believe.... But the bible can't be lying na...

John: 5 vs 26-29.

26,For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

27,And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

28,Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

29,And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

If this verse is saying the dead will raise again to face judgement. Then why are they preaching that once a man dies he is going to face judgement. Those that mean there is going to be two judgement?...

Although I meant what I posted earlier, you may actually be sincere, so I'd like to comment.
Please be aware that I'm neither a pastor nor a man.
Just someone who loves the Lord and desires understanding of His Word.

There will be (2) resurrections so to speak:

The first group comprises those that have died in Christ and who will be resurrected to meet the Lord in the sky.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (KJV)
16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, dnd with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord
.

The second group--those that died without accepting Christ, will be resurrected to receive their consequence- damnation. Their judgment won't take place until the end of the 1000 years....

Please prayerfully read in the book of Revelation chapters 19 AND 20 in their entirety. They deal with the resurrection/2nd death and consequence of those who rejected Christ.

Judgement (meaning people's evaluated lives), has already occurred by the time a person dies, meaning no "do-over's". How one has lived and chosen to serve has been evaluated.
The resurrections are the rewards/consequences of people's choices.

This delves into a whole other topic pertaining to what happens to a person when he/she immediately dies. No one goes immediately to Heaven or hellfire.
The Word of God states that the dead "know nothing."
That they are "asleep in the graves" until His second coming--final return.

1Thessalonians 4:13-14 (KJV)
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them which also sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him.

When one understands that the dead are in their graves--even until now (except for Enoch, Elijah etc.)-- then perhaps a clearer understanding of John--concerning Christ' second return and rewards/punishments will take place.

I get what you're saying though...how the idea of an energy drink is for older people who lack the energy of the youth.

The drinks are actually marketed toward young adults 20-40 or so, and even lots of teen-agers are drinking them too.
Had it been marketed toward the elderly, the manufacturers know that the drinks will quickly kill the elderly.
Not sure that your range of elderly in Nigeria is the same as mine.

Another thing you should be concerned is salt, magi and fried stuff .... Excess of this are bad to the body .

No such thing as moderation...shouldn't even drink it one time. Coconut water, an alternative, would do wonders for him.
Energy drink ingredients (which he is getting some sort of a "high" off of--due to massive amounts of sugar & caffeine) will kill a person...just as alcohol will....slowly, but definitely surely.
"Red Bull" and "Monster" are the worst.

Religion / Re: How Much Do You Give As Offering In Church? by Eviana(f): 2:21pm On Jan 15, 2023
Very inappropriate question.
Christians are to 1.) "return a tithe" and 2.) give an offering as led by the Holy Spirit.
While "men" may have other agendas, misinterpretations of scripture or corrupt motives, God's Word does not. It instructs sincere seekers.
It is just as crass and uncouth to state the exact amount of someone's offering, as it is for folks to publicly broadcast how someone of means (or not) has helped anyone---to do anything.

And I honestly think the OP knows that, but has an agenda.....a role to play wink

Religion / Re: What is Seventh-day Adventism, And What Do Seventh-Day Adventists Believe? by Eviana(f): 3:02pm On Jan 14, 2023
Good morning,
I saw this thread and contemplated on commenting...
It looks like it was created in October 2015.
I actually joined the site in December 2016.
Hmmm....it looks to have been resurrected on Jan 07, 2023--- of which I somehow missed (or probably didn't log on that day until evening--my time).

Anyhow, I appreciate the OP for bringing this, my, denomination, surprisingly to the forefront yet again.

It looks like he posted a "Got questions.org" type of answer that wasn't completely accurate nor did it recommend affiliation to my church. A more accurate and reliable description would be from the denkmination itself (gc.adventist.org). The list of my denomination's beliefs are listed as one navigates through the site.

To believe the "Got questions.org" version/answer is anyone's right to have--- just as long as he/she has prayed 1). to God, 2). read his Word through the Holy Spirit's guiding, and 3). has 100 percent peace about his belief/ choice.

Mr. Olaadegbu, here are some scriptures that I need to remind myself of sometimes-- I'd like to kindly share them with you also smiley

2 Tim. 2:14-16, 19 (KJV)
14 Of these things, put them in remembrance charging, them before the Lord that they STRIVE NOT about words to no profit, but to the subverting of hearers.

15 Study to show thyself approved, a workman unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

19 Nevertheless, the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let everyone that nameth the name of Christ, depart from iniquity
.

2 Tim 2:23 (KJV)
23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.

Happy Sabbath
