Macsjebs: Yeah, the excreta I meant, then when one wants the do the scheduled cleaning, do they bring the snake out, lol No mind my questions o, just curious Yes, you bring the snake out into a temporary cage, maybe a plastic with lid or so. Just anything to hold the snake during the clean up. |

Macsjebs: How do they get rid of its waste, like clean up the cage What waste exactly? AFAIK, theres no waste. Snake eats their meal whole, just a schedule of cleaning would be fine to dispose their excrete. |

Enough y'all with the egungun and pall bearer comment. It's a Brown House Snake and its harmless. Abeg, let us show the world we sef go school. The snake has been proven to be harmless. If I don't even know anything, Nat Geo Wild is my second best channel after Discovery and I have watched "Snake City" several times and Simon explains every snake clearly. So please and learn instead. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boaedon_capensis |

ojeysky: Actually I made a typo in my previous post, maximum load is 2.4kw not 2.4kva[1] that's why I said "true rating", I have another 3kva inverter and the true rating is 3kw (my guess is that the inverter is probably 3.5kva hence pf has been taken care of). However both of them Felicity and MPP are advertised as 3kva.
So you see why I say, just stating a rating without relating it to specific manufacturer spec could have a difference.
Cheers 1. PW=PVA X 0.8 Okay, thought exactly about the 2.4kva. To your last paragraph when we talk inverter, yes you're rigth. But it's a whole difference from UPS. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ewizard1: 3:35pm On May 13, 2020 |
ojeysky: Well if the UPS is truly rated 1.5kva then it's the same with a truly rated 1.5kva inverter. My inverter is rated 3kva but it's true rating is 2.4kva Why are you going back again oga Ojesky If your 3kva "INVERTER" is truly 2.4kva as you said, then what is the maximum capacity (Load) the inverter can power? If I am tossed your INVERTER labelled "3KVA", without any other info, I'll simple multiply the 3 by 0.8(pf) which would sum to (2.4kw) which is the max load your inverter can do. Then with few encounters I have with several UPS, the UPS here is the regular office unit used to protect Computers from tripping in the case of ligth outs. The Power factor is about 0.65 which means the max capability of load would be lower than an Inverter. They are always stated on every UPS. *** I have attached a Screenshot from APC 1500VA page. They have a space to calculate the runtime depending on the load, see I typed in 1000w and there was text saying, "... max 900w" but it's a 1500va/1.5kva UPS.

Valto: i have been using this UPS for over 2yrs now and it is very rugged.it consumes around 30W(with inbuilt fan on) on idle mode. pls do u know what the efficiency is like? on heavy load I didn't check before I sold it out. It's truly very rugged but drains battery faster and wouldn't charge my battery past 27.2v. More reason I had to sell it off and got an Inverter. |

ojeysky: Just as you can have a 980w inverter But the question was if "1.5kva UPS has the same capacity as a 1.5kva Inverter"980w isn't same as 1200w UPS has lower pf than inverters. |

@mctfopt @ojeysky @jove2012
No, a 1.5kva UPS isn't same as Inverter.
My previously used APC UPS 1.5Kva has capacity of 980W while my present 1.5kva Inverter has 1200w. |

essegis: Since you know much about headway will a 200ah set up carry a freezer? I don't mind turning off the freezer at night while I run security lights.
See specs of freezer below......essentially 766kwh/yr 766kw is high ooo. 200ah is just the capacity. The craziness is in the burst energy, I watched a YT video where it did over 300A on dead short without killing itself. They would be very good for High Drain applications. |

essegis: Baba, as you just talk am now I am forced to agree with you oo. But they are used and I saw them as a deal that's why I went in like that. Also, I had not come across this platform by then.
There is also a Nigerian YouTube channel I follow that helped buy me over to the Nissan Leaf batteries called AWPS I think. No be you get am? Yeah, I know AWPS, he has some nice setups too. I have been following Lithium for quite a while and I know what those things are capable of. Even as been used, they can make brand new Lead Acid batteries look dumb . I also use a DIY 18650 battery setup coupled from cells from dead laptop batteries. Apart from the time trouble to gather the rigth number of cells, it has been fun building those things. Even if I don't know about the BYD, I know Headway is a crazy cell. I read a post someone said, 18650 builders have gotten burnt someway, I just laugh because I dont know about that. Apart from the high number of wastage when gathering those cells as you might end up with low cap cells which would not pass to be used, there's nothing I regretted about it. The trick is "know what you're doing" Since I started using my Lithium ion around July 2019, it's been running without a BMS an I have nothing to worry about because I knew what I did there. Even though I later got a Daly BMS from AE, I still didn't bother installing it. Already getting set on my 48v setup. |

durodee: No I don't sell. I use it for business and domestically spread over different facilities. I also started low and went up the size ladder as my need increased. I however kept all, making use of them as I see fit. I do most installations myself, including solar panel installations, as a form of relaxation. I should not mention the number and total capacity of Ccs that I have or the number of panels or batteries.! !!! Without alternative energy, my business would have suffered terribly. Imagine 2 years without national grid power and you need power 24/7? I went the route of using generators before sense found me. Oh, good to know. I also do my Inverter and Solar installations myself. I have an Offgrid system in my small office but non-solar in my home. I build my own DIY 18650 Lithium batteries and it's been fun since I started mid 2018. |
Computers › Re: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by ewizard1: 12:47pm On May 09, 2020 |
durodee: Sir, let me start with the fact that I am not a professional installer ot technician but I have had some experience with inverter use. At present, I have a total of Nine (9) inverters ranging from 800va 12v to 6kw 24v. Of those eight ( have inbuilt chargers, while 2 of them are Hybrid inverters in that they also have solar charging capability apart from charging through Nepa or Generator. I also have 4 external chargers deployed when I feel I need additional speed in recharging my batteries after use. One important thing to note is that some chargers (whether inbuilt or external) are BULK chargers and do not optimally charge a lead acid batteries we commonly use. A good charger (whether external or internal) must be appropriatly sized/ big enough for the system and able to replace the power drawn from the battery as soon as possible without overcharging the battery or destroying it. It must also take the battery through at least 3 phases--bulk, absorb and float. A fourth phase may be required intermittently by some batteries called equalization phase. These type of chargers are called "intelligent" chargers and are the best type, and remember, it could be internal or external. Sometimes to cut costs, some inverters come without a charger or a low grade one, causing issues with time for the attached batteries. Those external Bulk chargers are referred to "Dumb Chargers". They work on a simple AC - DC principle consisting of a Transformer and Diode and are advised to only be used to revive a dead battery. Inbuilt chargers of a quality brand inverter should be different and work intelligently unlike the previous one up there. There are also intelligent "3 step" standalone chargers Bit wait ooo, only you 9 inverters, you mean you sell them? |

tchijioke: You are to connect them as individual circuit breakers then link them up with the cap as captured in the pix I posted. Linking them to function as dual circuit breaker will ensure that both breakers trip off instantly when the need arises. Thereby controlling the battery and PV side simultaneously and by extension keeping the charge controller off harms way. So you mean the internals of the MCB would consist of individual rating but the cover cap controls both at a time? |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ewizard1: 11:38pm On May 05, 2020 |
tchijioke: Just get the appropriate circuit breakers for the PV side as well as the battery side...then hook them up together to create the dual pole breaker as in the pix attached.
These are two separate breakers hooked up as one. 2 separate breaker as one? How? You mean 2 different breaker with different Amp rating as one with a single handle? How can one achieve this? |

Tho I have 2 x 10w lights in my sitting room, they are only on when theres need to brighten up the room maybe to cleanup/fixes or when there are guests. Aside that ,they are always off because I love watching tv in the dark. I got them for very good lighting when theres the need. |

I was using Energy savers and switched to LED when I installed my inverter system. I replaced my 40W AKT Spiral Energy saving with 10W Led and the lightening is same. I currently use 2 10W AKT LED buld in each of my sitting and bedroom. I have seen what the bulb is capable of. 3W bulb would have very low lumens rating which I cant even use in my rooms. |

Nigeria would have been in a confused state.
They would have used the pandemic as an excuse to siphon what's left in our treasury.
GEJ's government was a "looting for all" and lawlessness.
If not not for the intervention of the Almighty God, GEJ and his cronies would have ruined the present and future of Nigeria.
But we still must be grateful to God almighty to have made our years of pains , turn into joy via the emancipation of His Excellence President Mohammadu Buhari (GCFR) Who else read comments like this as SARCASM? |
