I know there are lots of disadvantages of social media, but this is the worst I have ever seen. A 41-year-old man has been arrested in Phatthalung, Thailand for inflicting serious injuries on his 13-year-old daughter after arguing with her over the amount of time she spent on Facebook and other social media platform.

The suspect, Joi, slit her throat on Sunday morning, April 9th, and then locked her in a rented house in Phetchaburi's Muang district. He was arrested at a checkpoint in Prachuap Khiri Khan's Thap Sakae district on Sunday night while trying to flee with his youngest daughter.

Joi told police he attacked the girl out of rage after they argued about her spending too much time on Facebook and Line. His wife, 44, corroborated that version of events. She said her husband did not like the girl spending a lot of time on social media for fear it would impact negatively on her school work. She, however, denied the suggestion the attack was the result of sexual abuse.

The wife said her husband had a violent temper and had hit the girl before over her social media use. She claimed Joi had previously threatened to kill all the family members as he was jealous and paranoid that she would return to her former lover. She said her daughter is recovering in hospital under close medical supervision.

Police said the husband was wanted under a court-issued arrest warrant in relation to a murder case in Trang's Muang district on August 14, 2007.

Last week, Lai Mohammed, the infamous minister of information (if you can call what he does information) denied being a liar and rhetorically asked newsmen interviewing him to “give me one thing that I have said which is not true." When I read that, I thought that perhaps he had repented from his demonic past time of lying. But it appears I spoke too soon and I was too hopeful!

I say this because just days after justifying himself and in response to the US congress citing Nigeria as "as the most dangerous place for Christians in the world", Lai Mohammed had the following to say: "Such fallacies like the Islamization of Nigeria, the killing of Christians by Muslims, the labelling of Nigeria as the most dangerous place for Christians in the world".

I do not know about the Islamization of Nigeria and I doubt that President Muhammadu Buhari has such intentions, but to say that "the killing of Christians by Muslims" is a 'fallacy' is a special kind of lie that could only have proceeded from the lips of a man whose own parents saw the perfidious destiny ahead of him and chose to name their child Lai accordingly!

I know for a fact that thousands of Christians have been killed by Muslims since President Muhammadu Buhari came to power including hundreds in Southern Kaduna (possibly thousands), even more hundreds in Agatu in Benue (although the Agatu Community Elders said over 6,000 of their people have been killed) hundreds in Bali and Donga Local Government Areas of Taraba, over a hundred killed in Enugu, hundreds in Delta, and multiple other deaths of Christians at the hands of radical extremists Fulani herdsmen Muslims.

This is besides the thousands of Christians killed by Boko Haram and Evangelist Bridget Agbahime beheaded in Kano (and whose suspected killers were discharged and acquitted on the instructions of the Kano state attorney general) and Pastor Eunice Elisha killed in Kubwa after morning ministration (whose killers were not surprisingly never charged).

Lai Mohammed has a very distinguished career in lying. I imagine that if he could find his way there, Lucifer will gladly give him a honorary PhD from the university of the Pit of Hell! Elsewhere I have detailed his lies but in this piece I want to inform my readers of a troubling pattern I am noticing which is that lying seems to be the default pattern of communication for not just Lai, but the ruling All Progressive Congress and its members and sympathizers and I will prove it.

Two years ago, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, a known APC surrogate LIED that former President Jonathan wanted to kill him. Today, hunger is killing Nigerians and Mbaka's lying mouth is silent!

Again In 2013 Pastor Tunde Bakare, another known APC surrogate, accused Dr. Goodluck Jonathan of BELITTLING his office by kneeling down for Pastor Adeboye to pray for him. I also wonder if he thought king David belittled himself by kneeling down for Samuel to pray for and anoint him. Anyhow, today the same Pastor Tunde Bakare is quiet as President Muhammadu Buhari has belittled the Naira to the extent that $1 now exchanges for ₦500.

Women are getting wilder and wilder this days. And i sincerely believe if the government eventually signs into bill 'gender equality' there will be a mayhem in this country because wife will literary kill their husband and claim he committed suicide.

Even as the law is not in place yet, women kill their husband like chicken. A lady friend boosted to me that 'why will i want my hubby dead now? He doesn't have anything now, when he is rich, i will kill him myself'. He thinks he is smart.

Older women these days are shameless. They engaging in sexual escapades with younger men in the name of enjoyment and this married 42-year-old woman proudly shared her s*xual escapade with his young lover or as they are fondly known as Ben 10 or sugarboy.

Apparently, the thing sweet her so much that she shared the whole story on Facebook much to the excitement of Facebook users who followed the whole conversation.

".....The sound of a ringing phone seemed to far to worry my spent body. As a lay sprawled on his bed, ...... I felt more at home than I have ever felt in my 20 plus years in marriage... Anyway, God all i need is children, after that, women can go to hell.

Who is to be held accountable for the sudden and continuous hike in price of commodities in the market, where for the first time in history, Nigeria is suddenly selling kerosene at 400 naira per litre as against 50 naira per litre, diesel at 300 naira per litre as against 100 naira per litre and petrol from 87 naira to 145 naira? Yet maintaining the same systems, environment and maybe a lesser money spending government.

This President Buhari's death fabrication all started last week and trust social media, it spread like "petrol fire" immediately not knowing that the news is fake. The website alleged that President Buhari died in London Hospital. Everybody thought the news from a Nigeria website "metronew" not knowing it emanated from a UK website: METRO-UK.COM.

The Presidency was quick to dispel the reports as false, confirming that Buhari is hale and hearty.

But, investigations have revealed that the domain of ”Metro-uk.com” was registered in the USA by a company that also owns ”Huffingtonpost-fm.com” – that published President Buhari committing suicide. On Wednesday afternoon, huffingtonpost-fm.com reported that “Nigeria President’s security tightened after attempting Suicide”.

The two fake websites are operated by the same company.

The same picture of Buhari was used in both stories, and the line “The President’s decision to receive medical care in a foreign land has angered some of his countrymen” was repeated word-for-word.

The owners of the two sites are listed as WILD WEST DOMAINS on whois.domaintools.com. The sites were registered in Arizona, United States.

“Huffington” was registered on November 19, 2016, and “Metro” on October 25, 2016.

Yes senate Ben Murray Bruce is the chairman of common sense department as he is know, but "the Comrade senator", Shehu Sani representing Kaduna central senatorial district may have just taught his counterpart, Senator Ben Murray Bruce of the Bayelsa senatorial district few common sense as a politician.

Senator Sani on his social media platform advised politicians, including colleagues who are into the business of giving “Man of the Year” award to avoid elective or public offices. It would be recalled on January 1st, 2017, the common sense Senator, Ben Bruce announced the governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano has the Silverbird Man of the Year, 2016.

Mr. Bruce said governor Obiano got the highest number of votes among the four nominees, shortlisted for the prestigious award, for prudent management of resources and embarking on massive infrastructural development in the state.

But Senator Sani did not seem well with the Award programme and he said:

The baby girl was named Halimatu Sadiya Umar Faruk. Born in 1931, Umar Farouk became the 60th of Daura on February 2007. He married his wife in mid 2015.

I so much sympathize with the family of this lovely guy. He is a Nigerian Based in South Africa and he just came back to enjoy with his people and behold, he met his end. One of his church members in South Africa I believe shared this info on Facebook.

This South African based Igbo guy fondly called Onye Mme Mme by his friends, arrived Nigeria on Christmas Day and died in a fatal accident on New Year Day. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has accused the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo to have consciously and willfully created political problems for Igbos during his eight years in office. The state statement was released by leader, Uchenna Madu on Monday, January 2, 2017.

The statement reads:

“His current political antics, romance and friendship in Igbo-land is suspect and dangerous to the political survival of Ndigbo in Nigeria.” “During his eight-year tenure as Nigeria’s President, he consciously and willfully created political problems for Ndigbo.

He initiated several political frustrations against Abia, Anambra, Enugu and Imo states during the tenure of Orji Uzor Kalu, Chinwoke Mbadinuju and Chimaraoke Nnamani.

“Obasanjo denied Igboland infrastructural development, he embarked on political witch-hunt of our people. He also mesmerized Ndigbo by changing Igbo senators five times in office of the Senate president.

“Today, Igbo governors of Abia, Ebonyi and Enugu states are celebrating him by inviting him to inaugurate projects in their respective states. During his eight-year rule, he never visited Dim Chukwuemeka Ojukwu or showed concerns to his position as Igbo leader.”

Obasanjo recently urged Igbos to improve on their unity as a tribe if they had any intention of producing Nigeria’s president in the future.

Contrarily to what people think and why Pres. Buhari was removed from office, the President yesterday in his speech said the reason he was removed from office in 1985 was because he refused to take an advice from the IMF and the World Bank to devalue the Naira and increase prices of fuel and flour.

He said this when he spoke at the Nigerian Army Guards Brigade Regimental Dinner.

"I refused and gave my reasons and the next thing I knew I was removed and detained for three and half years. As a civilian president I will do my best and I’m telling you all these because you are part of the leadership of this great country and God willing we will remain great” he said.

It seems the freedom of former Delta State governor James Ibori will consume some of the big politicians we have in this country. It is invariably a gift that keeps on giving. The latest is that Abdulmumin Jibrin has accused Yakubu Dogara of collecting $600,000 from James Ibori during his speaker-ship campaign in 2015. This was contained in a statement made available to Pulse on Saturday, December 31, 2016.

"It is such a shame that Speaker Dogara denied the fact that former Governor James Ibori provided huge support to his emergence as Speaker by mobilizing members from Delta state and some from the the south south and south east zone to support him," Jibrin said. "‪Since he has disown Ibori, he should at least have the honour to return the $600,000 Ibori donated to his speakership campaign‬. Iam sure he cannot deny the fact that he collected that money cash!"

The Kano state lawmaker also accused Speaker Dogara of "spreading lies and propaganda" in the House of Representatives aimed at "watering down his popularity".

He said: "No such planted stories will deter me from this crusade and using every legal means to regain the mandate of my people. The Speaker and members of the axis of evil in the house whom I will name in due course should rather focus on responding to the mountain of allegations i have raised against them.

"This is 163 days after and no response to any of the allegations of budget fraud and corruption. "I remain very proud that despite the organized witch hunt against me using the institution of the house they have not been able to establish any offense that I have committed during the course of discharging my duties in the five years I have spent in the house.

"It is noteworthy that no member of the house has formally accused me of corruption or abuse of office as I have consistently done against the Speaker and others," Jibrin added.

The lawmaker revealed plans to establish an online platform that will serve as a central point to disseminate budget fraud and corruption acts and publish evidence, in addition to leading a "ruthless" anti-corruption campaign in 2017.

The vultures are circling, whether you like it or not. The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, and other Governors across the federation, are set to lose their immunity, following the ongoing process at amending some sections of the 1999 Constitution.

This has prompted the Department of State Security Service, DSS, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to start “dusting files” of the various Governors with corruption allegation. This came against the backdrop of the process of amending section 308 of the 1999 Constitution, which gives immunity to the President, Vice President, Governors, and Deputy Governors.

A bill to that effect, sponsored by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege (LP, Delta), has been referred to the Senate Committee on Constitution amendment, chaired by the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu. Senate President, Bukola Saraki, had before the commencement of Christmas/New Year holidays, said the Constitution amendment would be passed early next year.

Specifically, the bill seen in the National Assembly Journal, proposed the substitution of subsection 308 (2) that presently reads; “the provisions of subsection (1) of this section shall not apply to civil proceedings against a person to whom this section applies in his official capacity, or to civil, or criminal proceedings, in which such a person is only a nominal party” with a new section.

The proposed amendment reads; “the provisions of subsection (1) of this section shall not apply to, (a) “civil proceedings against a person to whom this section applies in his official capacity, or to civil, or criminal proceedings, in which such a person is only a nominal party”. Its (b) part reads; “criminal proceedings connected to, related to, or arising from economic and financial crimes”.

Senator Omo-Agege, said like in America, the President, Governors, and their Deputies, should only be immune from civil actions arising from their official actions while in office. “They are not entitled to immunity from litigation for actions not germane to their work. For example, a President or Governor who buys a car for a child, and refuses to pay, can be taken to court while in office,” he said.

He added that: “also like in the US, there should be no immunity from criminal investigation, or prosecution for crimes committed either before, or while in office. “Finally, Elliot Spitzer as a sitting Governor of New York, was tried and convicted for illicit solicitation of sex”.

He expressed optimism that if the amendment is passed, there will be sanity, transparency, and accountability in the Executive arm of government, especially, “treatment of our state resources, which most of them currently treat as slush funds”.
