The three sons of Mr and Mrs Udoh were killed in a fire incident at their home in Bayelsa on January 14th. Narrating the sad incident to Daily Sun, Udoh, who is a commercial motorcyclist, said on the day of the incident, he had returned from work and had asked his daughter to buy him some drugs. He said his wife who sells food had gone to the market to buy materials she needed to make Suallu bean cake and pap, which she sells to residents in the neighborhood ... He said after waiting for his daughter who did not return on time, he decided to go and look for her and left his three sons who were asleep at home. Unfortunately, he locked them inside the house, hoping to come back on time. Not long after he left the house, neighbors started shouting "Fire, Fire" and running to his house. Before they could break open the door, the boys had burnt to death. Preliminary investigation by the police concluded that the fire incident was caused by a lit candle, but residents of the area held the contrary view that the fire was a mystery. One of the neighbours of the family, who gave her name simply as Josephine, said nobody could explain how the fire started because it burnt the two rooms of the landlord before consuming the house of the Udohs. According to her, the fire was so intense that before people could rescue the children, they had been burnt to death. However, she noted that the children might have been able to escape if the door was not locked from outside. The mother of the boys has remained inconsolable since the incident happened. When she was visited at her new apartment, she couldn't speak at all. A relative of the Udoh's, Victoria Dominic also narrated the sad incident. She also believes that the fire incident was mysterious. Senator Joseph Waku, one of the former chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, advises President Muhammadu Buhari to probe Goodluck Jonathan in the alleged diversion of money meant for arms procurement. He said it’s unfair that for the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, to be detained while ex-president is left a free man. Waku noted that former NSA has repeatedly linked to the arms deal scandal. He asked in an interview with Saturday Sun, “can Dasuki do anything on his own without the consent and approval of the president and the commander-in-chief?” PDP’s former Board of Trustees member called on President Buhari to order the immediate arrest of his predecessor, restating that allowing Jonathan alone feeds the big man syndrome which he defied as one of the things killing Nigeria as a nation. Waku said: “Is Jonathan bigger than Nigeria? Will Jonathan be the first former president to be investigated or quizzed over corruption? We should be able to draw a line between sentimentalism and patriotism. To me, asking Jonathan to speak out or being quizzed is an act of patriotism. Asking that he should be left alone is sentimentalism.” “It is very shocking and disgraceful, most especially when you look at the caliber of people involved. “Look at the names that Dasuki has been mention ing as beneficiaries of the loot. These are people that Nigerians until now look up to with respect. Tanko Yakas sai, Tony Anenih, Haliru Bello, people who are supposed to be role models, now turning into looters. It is a big shame. I’m highly disappointed with these people. “What does Anenih want again at his age? What does Yakassai want again at his age? It is a big shame on these two men refered to as elderstatemen, to be involved in alleged sharing and looting of funds meant to purchase arms for our troops to fight Boko Haram. These two old men should not only apologise to Nigerians, they and others that partook in the sharing should refund the money to the national treasury.” complete story at http://www.exlinklodge.com/2016/01/arrest-ex-president-goodluck-jonathan.html cc lalasticlala

The Financial Times UK has described the economic policies of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration as the ‘height of foolishness’. The as faulted President Muhammdu Buhari’s economic policies The leading international business publication in an article by Steve Johnson, the deputy editor of the Financial Times, said the economic policies of the Buhari administration is doomed to fail because it is tailored after Venezuela’s exchange rate policy and China’s failed equity market strategy. The article faulted the circuit breaker on the Nigerian stock exchange which pauses trading for 30 minutes if stock prices fall 5 per cent and will cease for the day if it is triggered twice in a session, or after 1.45pm. It noted that this month, Beijing abandoned a similar policy after just four days, stating that in a falling market the existence of the circuit breaker encouraged more selling as traders rushed to exit while they could. Quoting John Ashbourne, Africa economist at Capital Economics, it said: “It is hardly confidence-inspiring that Nigeria is copying a Chinese policy that is widely seen to have failed.” See the full article below: Nigeria plans to create a $25 billion fund with public and private financing to modernize infrastructure and avoid a recession. Copying Venezuela’s exchange rate policy and China’s failed equity market strategy might seem the height of foolishness. But, at least in the opinion of John Ashbourne, Africa economist at Capital Economics, that is precisely what Nigeria, the continent’s largest economy, has just done. “Low oil prices are battering Nigeria’s export-dependent economy, but it’s the government’s market-distorting response that risks pushing the country into a Venezuela-style crisis,” Mr Ashbourne says. “Nigeria is sliding towards a Venezuela-style FX regime and adopting a Chinese-style stock market circuit breaker. Neither will reassure foreign investors, many of whom seem to be eyeing the exits.” Both measures were announced after markets closed on Friday, January 15. The circuit breaker on the Nigerian stock exchange, one of the worst performing in the world this year with a fall of 17.7 per cent, will pause trading for 30 minutes if stock prices fall 5 per cent. Trading will cease for the day if it is triggered twice in a session, or after 1.45pm. This month, Beijing abandoned a similar policy after just four days, concluding that in a falling market the existence of the circuit breaker encouraged more selling as traders rushed to exit while they could. “The effect is akin to calling last orders at a crowded bar,” Mr Ashbourne says. “It is hardly confidence-inspiring that Nigeria is copying a Chinese policy that is widely seen to have failed.” He accepts that Nigeria’s circuit breaker may not be as badly designed as the Chinese version. Whereas the NSE All Share index rarely falls by 5 per cent a day, the Shanghai Composite did so a dozen times in 2015. The NSE’s version has not yet been called into action. Nevertheless, Mr Ashbourne says that using a circuit breaker to shore up the market, rather than to avoid volatility, is “deeply flawed”. Simultaneously, the central bank has said it will stop selling US dollars into the interbank FX market. Nigeria has operated a de facto twin currency system for the naira since February 2015, when the bank held the official interbank rate at N199 to the dollar to avoid a spike in inflation. The unofficial rate, available at bureaux de change, has plunged to N300/$, as the first chart shows. However Mr Ashbourne argues the latest move takes Nigeria a step along the road to a Venezuela-style scenario, where the dollar now buys 913 bolívars on the black market, according to dolartoday.com, compared with an unofficial rate of 6.28/$. “Suspending US dollar sales to the interbank market will force consumers and firms to source dollars at bureaux de change,” he says, while providing an implicit subsidy for companies and individuals with the connections needed to access the official rate. As the second chart shows, Nigeria’s reluctance to let the naira’s official exchange rate weaken means it has borne the brunt of the sharp fall in oil prices since the middle of 2014. In naira terms, the oil price has fallen from $115 a barrel to around $35, with the modicum of weakening permitted so far doing little to take the edge off the fall in oil prices to $28 in dollar terms. In contrast, Russia, which has allowed the rouble to fall sharply, is still seeing oil prices of around $65 in local currency terms, with many other oil exporters such as Brazil and Azerbaijan also seeing more cushioning of the blow than Nigeria. Charles Robertson, chief global economist at Renaissance Capital, who drew up the second chart, expects Nigeria to bow to the seemingly inevitable and - full article at http://www.exlinklodge.com/2016/01/financial-times-uk-describe-buharis.html MissyB3 Ijebabe lalasticlala ishilove mynd44 airforce1 fynestboi

PDP National Secretary Olisa Metuh who is facing charges for allegedly collecting N400m from Dasuki, an offence the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) described as money laundering, was handcuffed for the third time yesterday, January 22 at the Federal High Court In Abuja. He was however granted bail in the sum N300m and two sureties in like sum for tearing up his statement. But in a twist, the deputy national publicity secretary of the PDP, Alhaji Abdullahi Jalo, told The Punch on Friday, January 22, that the party will not provide sureties for Metuh since he was being prosecuted for offences that have nothing to do with it. He said, “Metuh didn’t represent the party in the alleged crimes he’s being prosecuted. The party didn’t benefit from the alleged crime. “So, he is going to look for sureties himself. We won’t be involved. He would carry his own cross alone, without the party being involved.” However, friends and associates Metuh were doing everything possible to get the sureties as demanded by the courts, according to the national legal adviser of the party, Victor Kwon, Meanwhile widespread condemnation have continued to trail the hancuffing of Olisa Metuh by the Nigeria Prison Service (NPS). Several PDP members have described the handcuffing of the national publicity secretary of their party, Olisa Metuh, by the NPS as a gross abuse of human liberty. see more at http://www.exlinklodge.com/2016/01/pdp-abandons-olisa-metuh-say-they-will.html cc lalasticlala

Editor's Note: This is a great lesson to all those who treat their pastors like a God. Pastors are not Gods, ok, especially all this women who sleeps in the Church for one month leaving their husband at home alone. My pastor said this and my pastor said that. All are lies. Is so so hard to see a man of God that is controlled by God himself this days. All of them are just responding to your looks and your matter. They will always ask you what you do and what is the problem. They can't find it out unless you tell them. They are so canal. There was confusion on Sunday at Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) on Unity Street in Abule-Egba, Lagos, when a prophet set a member ablaze during service. The victim, simply identified as Madam Bosede, is lying critically ill in hospital. It was gathered that the prophet in his sermon claimed he got a revelation that there was God in their midst, adding that if the woman was set ablaze she would not suffer burns. Madam Bosede, who joined the church a month ago told The Nation yesterday: “Our prophet said the spirit of God whispered to him that I would not burn if he sets me on fire. When I came out, they poured kerosene on my body and set me ablaze. But, unfortunately, I was burnt beyond recognition and before the other church members could get water, the deed had already been done.” The cleric told The Nation that he clearly heard a voice instructing him to set a member on fire to prove and confirm that God was in their midst. “I heard the voice clearly, but I don’t know what happened after we set fire on her. God has been speaking to me since and it has been working, so I wonder why now,” he said. Some members, however, left the church, doubting their prophet’s credibility, adding: “We cannot worship here again, who knows who the spirit will ask him to burn next.” The victim’s badly burnt hand A resident, Irene Ohekina said: “I don’t pity her; she was the one who allowed herself to be deceived by the prophet. Why did the prophet not try the fire on himself or any of his family member?” Another resident, Nkechi said for the prophet to have given such instruction, it must have come from God, adding “I believe it’s the sins of the victim that made her burn, the prophet of God could not have lied.” complete story and more at http://www.exlinklodge.com/2016/01/nigeria-news-white-garment-pastor-burns.html cc lalasticlala ishilove mynd44

What is happening in civilized world? Can someone tell me please. A intimacy gadget company trying to get a rise out of New Yorkers erected a head-turning promotional ploy on Fifth Ave. Hot Octopuss unveiled what it called a “GuyFi” booth on 28th St. and 5th Ave. where men could, in theory, go to “relieve stress” mid-workday. The masturbation-themed marketing scheme was inspired by a Time Out survey, which concluded that 39% of the New York men questioned admitted to masturbating while at work. The booth was created to “take this habit out of the office and into a more suitable environment designed to give the busy Manhattan man the privacy, and the high-speed Internet connection, he deserves,” Octopuss said in a press release. The booth was actually an out-of-service telephone kiosk outfitted with a black curtain, a folding chair, a laptop computer, and a Hot Octopuss ad along the side. “At Hot Octopuss we are all about looking for new solutions to improve everyday life and we feel we’ve done just that with the new GuyFi booth,” Adam Lewis, Hot Octopuss co-founder, said in a statement. “We hope the city’s men enjoy using the space we’ve created in whatever way they want.” A representative later told Mashable Friday that, “the brand is not actively encouraging people to masturbate in public as that is an illegal offense.” See more peoples reactions on twitter below at http://www.exlinklodge.com/2016/01/outrageous-sex-firm-creates.html MissyB3 Ijebabe lalasticlala ishilove Obinoscopy mynd44 airforce1 fynestboi

Tsai Ing-wen of Taiwan’s main opposition party will become the island’s first female president in a landslide victory over the ruling Kuomintang (KMT) today, as voters turned their backs on closer China ties. KMT candidate Eric Chu conceded defeat in a disastrous rout for the party as he addressed tearful crowds at the party’s headquarters in Taipei. The vote count is continuing but live television figures from polling stations show Tsai of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has secured a historic landslide victory, with around 60 per cent against 30 per cent for Chu. That would be the biggest ever win for any president in Taiwan – the previous record was 58.45 per cent for current KMT president Ma Ying-jeou in 2008. At KMT headquarters in Taipei, a tearful Eric Chu, the candidate for the party, said: ‘I’m sorry… We’ve lost. ‘The KMT has suffered an election defeat. We haven’t worked hard enough and we failed voters’ expectations.’ Chu also said the KMT had lost its parliamentary majority, the first time it has ever lost control of the island’s legislature. Observers say it is unlikely Tsai will do anything to provoke Beijing if she wins. Analysts also agree there will not be any immediate backlash from China, as alienating Taiwan would play against Beijing’s ultimate aim of reunification. In the latest cross-strait drama, the plight of a teenage Taiwanese K-pop star dominated local news coverage, with presidential candidates drawn into the row. complete info at - http://www.exlinklodge.com/2016/01/taiwan-election-landslide-victory-for.html
