According to a report on Linda Ikeji's blog, hours after a court ordered the arrest of a former Niger Delta warlord, Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo, some Niger Delta militants this morning blew up strategic oil pipelines in Warri South West local government area in Delta state.

The militants in other coordinated attacks, blew up oil pipelines between Ikpokpo and Odidi flow stations, mostly in Gbaramatu kingdom. Residents of the area say the attacks started shortly before midnight and lasted till the early hours of Friday morning. Most of them have fled their homes for fear of a gun battle between the militants and the military.

The Cameroonian government has urged its people to be more vigilant in the wake of an attack on Wednesday, January 13, on a mosque that killed at least 12 people. This the latest in a series of attacks blamed on Boko Haram militants.

Midjiyawa Bakari, governor of the Far North Region of Cameroon, said Muslims should be on guard at mosques to help avert the kind of attacks that have plagued Muslims attending morning prayers.

Bakari also suggested that all prayer sessions in mosques should be divided into two, with the first group praying and the second group keeping watch. The groups would then switch. He also said unknown people should not be given access to mosques.

Muslim cleric Imam Ahmidou Moustapha of Kolofata said asking a Muslim not to pray with others of their faith is contrary to their religious teachings. But he says it is an option when they are faced with terrorist acts. Moustapha said the most important thing is for people to forgo rivalries and to work together for peace. He said people should understand there will always be differences among them.

My o my, still on marital scandal this morning. According to Jamaica local newspapers, mother of 6, Karen Rainford was beheaded by her husband after the unfortunate discovery. It was reported that days leading up to the murder, the alleged father , after finding out through DNA tests that the children did not belong to him, cut his locks and told people close to him that he would kill her.

Friends said that Rainford would often visit the man’s place of employment in an effort to collect child support. The father was said to be angry that she had followed him from site to site embarrassing him for child support perhaps knowing that the children were not his…This is what was said to have caused him to kill her.

Editor's Note: Women cannot be satisfied in their life at all. Off all the six children none of them is his husbands'. This is so cruel and immoral and gross. I almost called off the wedding at the thought of how passionate Chris made love to me but I rebuffed the thoughts and carried on with the wedding. After our wedding, I moved in with my husband to begin my duties as a wife. I found out that no matter how I pretend to be happy with my husband, the thoughts of my passionate moments with my boyfriend never left my subconscious. I wasn’t happy in that marriage but I couldn’t leave because of family pressures.

My husband loves me so much that he hardly noticed any strange attitude in me. I was able to convince him that we shouldn’t have kids till after two years of marriage in order for us to build our career before children starts coming. He agreed so each time, I have intercourse with my husband, I use contraceptives to prevent myself from getting pregnant.

At first he seemed alright with the decision but as time went on, he started demanding for a baby. I was angry at his sudden change of mind and his demands. As we argued one day, I stormed out of the house furious and headed straight to my boyfriend’s place. On getting there, I was warmly welcomed with a hot kiss from my secret lover. He kissed me like he has never done in recent times and immediately began making love to me. At that instance, I forgot all my sorrows and got carried away with the sensuous moments.

We made love for days non-stop till I decided to go back home to my husband. Two months after the misunderstanding I had with my husband, I discovered that I was a month gone as I missed my monthly flow. Just to know that the entire country remembers their services to this nation is a welcome development that have been their since time immemorial.

The activities to mark the 2016 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration began with a Juma'at Service today at the National Mosque in Abuja. The theme of this year's celebration is: Motivating the Nigerian Armed Forces for Effective Service Delivery.

Those in attendance include the Senate President, Bukola Saraki represented President Buhari at the service, Lai Muhammed and other top politicians.

The governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has spoken on the recent arrest and detention of Olisa Metuh, the spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Fayose said the APC’s desperation to silence the opposition has dragged the Buhari-led government in the mud of lawlessness. The governor described the EFCC as “a system in which an accused person is first arrested, detained endlessly while the anti-corruption agency goes about looking for evidence”.

Premium Times reports that Fayose expressed his opinion in a statement made on today being Friday, January 8, through his special assistant on public communications and new media, Lere Olayinka. The governor also challenged the EFCC to act on petitions submitted to it against chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Muhammadu Buhari’s election sponsors.

Speaking about the arrest of the PDP’s spokesman, Fayose noted that the APC’s desperation to silence the opposition has dragged the Buhari-led government in the mud of lawlessness. “In saner climes, you don’t arrest people for alleged fraud and start to look for evidence to prosecute them. “Rather, before you arrest anyone for fraud, anti-corruption agencies must have established a prima facie case and arresting the suspect will only be to enable for his or her arraignment in court.

“However, what we are witnessing in Nigeria today is a situation whereby the EFCC will arrest PDP leaders, humiliate them by subjecting them to media trial, detain them for weeks in the process of trying to force them to make statements during which the commission will be looking for evidence.

“For instance, in the case of Metuh, we are being told that the EFCC is insisting that he must write statements and one begins to wonder if it has now become mandatory for an accused to write statements in law enforcement agent’s custody. Shouldn’t the EFCC have simply charged Metuh to court based on its own evidence? Or is Metuh’s statement the evidence the EFCC requires to prosecute him?” the governor wondered.

Fayose stressed that the international community, especially the United Nations, African Union, European Union were put on notice on the “condemnable act of arresting and detaining opposition leaders by agents of the Buhari-led government before fishing for evidence.” Further in his statement, the governor challenged the president to target his anti-corruption effort not only to members of the PDP but also to those who sponsored his election.

Her husband Mohamed Deeq is in police custody and will be arraigned in court tomorrow. According to reports, the mother of four had a family dispute with her husband and out of rage, he stabbed her in the face.

This is not the way Nigeria should be with respect to our Muslim brothers. Dauda who is popularly know as Abdul Inyas, was arrested on August 18, 2015 in Abuja and taken to Kano, where he faced trial on a two-count charge of blasphemy and inciting crisis that led to the burning of a Sharia court and some vehicles. He reportedly made some blasphemous remarks against Prophet Muhammad during a Maulud festival held on June 31 last year.

The court upheld the death sentence passed on Dauda by a lower Sharia court. State counsel, Lamido Sorondinki, said five witnesses, including the police, had testified before the court. Counsel to the defendant, who craved anonymity, neither commented on the ruling nor possibility of appealing the judgement. Premium Times Reports that five other accused persons had also received death sentence by the court in June.

It will be recalled that in June last year, an upper Sharia court, Rijiyar Lemo, in Kano, sentenced 9 persons: Abdul-Inyas, Hajiya Mairo and seven others to death for blasphemy against the Prophet of Islam. The trial was reportedly done in secret, and details of its proceedings were not made public.

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose recently said that Nigerian was gradually returning to the dictatorial days of 1984, where human rights were not valued and respected. The governor said this in reaction to the continued detention of Sambo Dasuki and Nnamdi Kanu in spite of court orders. Fayose said that President Buhari has already pronounced them guilty before fair trial.

The Ekiti State governor told Nigerians to brace up in the New Year as the country gradually plunges into dictatorship, just like 1984 when Buhari of the military head of state. He further labelled President Buhari's administration as a misadventure for Nigerians and called on international human right organisation to investigate the abuses of rights and contempt for court orders in the country.

Governor Fayose also said that he was highly disappointment in the president's responses during the recent media chat. He said the president still talked and acted like a military dictator and urged Nigerians to pray so that the country will to fall into darker days.

According to various media reports, the management of MTN Nigeria has stated that it will not pay the N780 billion fine imposed on it by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). The Company made this known in a released to the public at about 8pm on New Year’s Eve, hours away from the deadline issued by the NCC for the payment of the fine, according to a Punch report.

Mr. Funso Aina, public relations and protocol manager at MTN Nigeria, stated that when a case was in court, there is a limit to comments that could be made on the matter, in his response to a media enquiry sent by a Punch correspondent.

“Suffice it to say that based on the lis pendens rule (pending legal action), all parties are enjoined to restrain from taking further action until the matter is finally determined. This is consistent with previous judicial decisions in Nigeria,” Aina said.

“We would continue to engage with the Nigerian authorities to try and ensure an amicable resolution in the best interest of the company, its stakeholders and the Nigerian authorities,” Aina added. According to Nigerian CommunicationsWeek, a source at the NCC said, “MTN did not pay the fine before close of work today (yesterday) and so the Commission will take a fresh decision on the issue Monday.”

However, Mr. Victor Oluwadamilare, spokesman for the Minister of Communications, insists that MTN will have to pay the fine, according to the Nigeria CommunicationsWeek report. “MTN has the right to seek the court’s interpretation if it feels unsatisfied with the action of the regulator but nothing would stop the government action on the fine,” He said. MTN was fined by the NCC for failing to disconnect about 5.1 million unregistered SIMs on its network despite repeated warnings by the NCC.

Three Nigerian men have been arrested by Indian police for allegedly gang raping a 19 year old Indian girl in West Delhi's Uttam Nagar area. The three alleged rapists are pictured sitting on the ground in the pic above and surrounded by police...

According to India police, the men were arrested on Dec. 29th after getting a statement from the victim, who claimed she was lured into the home of one of the men.

The girl, who is a student, said she came to Delhi for the holidays and was staying with her brother's female friends. On the night of the incident, she said the two women suggested they go to the club to party but instead took her to the home of one of the Nigerians. Later in the night, one of them started touching her inappropriately and when she resisted, he forced himself on her. Two other guys allegedly joined in.

In her statement to police, she said she managed to escape and contacted her brother who then called the police. 33-years old Nwachorudo Charles Echejohn and two of his friends were arrested. The two women who allegedly lured her to the home have also been arrested.

Olufemi Fani-Kayode, the former aviation minister, has addressed some certain issues which he indicated in his Open Letter to President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, December 28.

Speaking on Channels TV morning show Sunrise Daily Fani-Kayode highlights the “Lies” of the present government after seven months in power, he also considers the most glaring flaws and inconsistencies that has characterise the current administration, while also pointing out the efforts the past administration made in the fight against insurgency in the last six weeks in power.

“People are dying daily in this country and our government is given a commitment to do certain things but haven’t met those commitment. Instead of coming out to tell us the truth, they keep telling us lies and I think it’s appropriate for a true patriot and every good citizen to stand up and speak the truth.

“The president and our government came out to say that no arms were bought by the previous administration. This is a lie, it’s not true and if no arms were bought I wonder how the last administration could recover 22 local government areas in a space of a new month. Arms were bought and arms were used.

“They said the war against Boko Haram had been won and this is not true. The war hasn’t been won, people are been killed every day. They said the war had been won on December 23, but people were being killed on December 25 in Maiduguri, people were killed in Borno state on December 27 and people were killed in Adamawa state on December 28, and as I speak to you today, of the 22 local government recovered by the Jonathan’s administration, a number of them are back in the hands of Boko Haram today. It’s simply not true that the war against Boko Haram had been won. Instead of being consistent and clear in his assertions, what the president now did was to come out and say that arms were indeed bought but they were bought with cash without trying to understand why it was done that way.

“The time Jonathan was in power, there was an arm embargo on this country, we could not prosecute the war against Boko Haram because nobody was prepared to sell us arms. Therefore we had to purchase arms in black market and the only way to do that is by using cash, and the position of the previous government was that no matter what it takes, whether through arms, cheques, bank transfer, the important thing to do was to get arms for our army to prosecute the war against Boko Haram.
