Your Most Revered 14 February "Valentine's Day" Might Be A Fuss - Conspiracy About Valentine's Day I'm not a prophet of doom, neither am I a suit-sawyer but some things needs to be said and no one wants to hear that his/her most revered day or time is actually an opposite to what he/she might actually think or believe. To proceed, please be informed that this read is attributed to Richard Easton -- The Matchmaker. I have it on good authority that Pope Gelasius, the one who established Valentine's Day in 500 AD, was secretly moonlighting as a restaurant owner who wished to pump up the volume at his trendy eatery in downtown Rome. Restaurant owners across the country have got to be wetting their pants right now knowing that the dining-cash-cow of the year is an otherwise lonesome Monday. They'll be laughing all the way to the bank on Tuesday. The laugh's on us. Prepare to pay through the nose for crappy pre-fixe food and bottles of wine no one ever heard of in a jam-packed venue you wouldn't have patronized except it was the only place you could score a reservation. The whole idea pisses me off. Why not just celebrate the night before? Because that's "mistress night" according to restauranteurs, the second greatest cash-cow of the year. February 13th is the night philanderers take out the women they are actually having sex with. Sorry gentlemen—you're busted! Back to Valentine's Day, if you're a guy, you've been in a suit all day. You just want to take a shower, throw on a pair of jeans and a sports jacket, and enjoy a cozy dinner with the one you love, but oh no, that won't due for this Hallmark holiday, so you've got to get back into another suit, hopefully a black one, and oh yes, pick her up with a car and driver. Damn it Dagwood, you forgot about the car. Taxiiiiiiiiiii… Don't forget the flower and candy either. Too late! The florists are sold out. Harry Winston anyone? If you are a woman, you've been shopping all week for a new dress, shoes, handbag, and sexy stockings. For what? So he'll see you in a way he never has before. Is it love? God, I hope so because this one night out is going to cost you both a fortune. Maybe he'll pop the question? "Girls, he asked me to marry him on Valentine's Day." How original! I think I'll throw up! Talk about amateur night. You thought New Year's Eve brought out all the homebodies. On V-Day you'll be sitting next to a couple who haven't been out to dinner since last V-Day. "Awe shucks honey, look at the little roses on all the tables—they thought of everything." Yikes! Get me outta here! Want to do something really unique for Valentine's Day? Stay home! If you are like most of my clients and friends who dine out all the time, cook dinner. What a treat! Stop by your high-end grocer the day before to pick up all the essentials including caviar, and then the wine store for a bottle of Dom Perignon and a vintage bottle of Saint Emilion. Don't forget the flowers and candles—and a simple gift. You will not only save a bundle, but you will also enjoy food and wine far superior to anything you could afford out. Most important, your Valentine will love you for it. "Girls, you wouldn't believe all the trouble he went through for Valentine's Day—the sweetest thing I ever saw!" Yep. Can you imagine that all the fuss about V-Day is just so that a restaurant owner could increase his sales and make more money? The conspiracy is not far fetched and since their is actually to genuine explanation for V-Day, this could be it. Because, that is all their is. Renowned Nigeria’s Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, on Tuesday alleged that the Olusegun Obasanjo administration ‘protected’ those who murdered Nigeria’s former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister for Justice, Bola Ige. Mr Soyinka, playwright and social critic, made this known in a statement on Tuesday titled “Trivialise Corruption, Neutralise Justice”, issued in his capacity as convener of Citizen Forum. The statement comes against the background of the crisis rocking the judiciary following the controversial suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, over his failure to declare his assets. Mr Soyinka, who said impunity reigns where there is no justice, explained that the present crisis in the judiciary shows that the nation and its leaders did not learn from the murder of the late Mr Ige and “the manner investigations into his death were handled”. Mr Ige served first as Minister of Power and later as Minister of Justice under Mr Obasanjo, who was the president of Nigeria between 1999 and 2007. He was murdered in December 2002 in his home in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital. According to Soyinka, Mr Obasanjo’s government knew the killers of the late minister and politician and indeed allegedly protected and rewarded them. In Soyinka's words; “The government at the time of Ige’s killers know the truth. That government protected – I repeat – protected, and rewarded his killers. Those who wish to dispute this had better first immerse themselves in the circumstances of that murder, and the unconstitutional, indeed illegal trajectory of the principal accused, one that not only facilitated his unconstitutional participation in the ensuing election but catapulted him straight to the occupancy of the seat that had been kept warm for him during his trial and absence,” Mr Soyinka said. “On release, he was ushered straight into the slot of Chairman of the Appropriation Committee of the House of Representatives. That was not all. The head of that government, General Olusegun Obasanjo, proceeded to burnish Ige’s memory with characteristic zeal.” More @ http://www.exlinklodge.com/2019/02/obasanjos-govt-knew-rewarded-protected.html cc mynd44 lalasticlala obinoscopy missyb3

Waiting for the day all of una go die leave this country for us. All of you old cargo are the reason this country cannot work. |
You guys in this Nairaland should at least be objective and reason with your head before you comment on this platform not reasoning with your anus. Nigeria and USA have laws and also have extradition laws. Which means, if you commit crime on either country you can be extradited to the country were u committed the crime and be prosecuted. If one is indicted on a case, it simply means he is accused of being involved in that particular case but without any substantiating evidence, their is no case to answer. If he had a case to answer, they would have extradited him for a long time. Yes he maybe skeptical and apprehensive of visiting the States for now, not knowing if there is plausible case that can get him arrested or detained and knowing who Buhari and APC are, they can do and undo, is then better for him to stay back in naija and avoid States for now. The man has nothing to prove to Nigerians honestly, cuz every average Nigerian and Nigeria politician is a criminal, depends on how you are stealing your own. Tell your self whatever you want to, you know this is an undeniable truth. Your Yoruba god, Tinubu, Obasanjo etc na the same Buhari, Amechi, Abba, Babachir - Make i no even go their. Ibori nko - birds of same feather Orji Kalu, T.A. Orji, Ikpeazu, Rochas.. All of them na the same should I go on? So make una free the man abeg |
haladadon:see as u dey make mouth now because Oshiomhole don stop Rochas. If he didnt eh, Imo people wont do anything and he will put his son inlaw there. nothing will happen. u dey make mouth there. thank your stars oo. |
akaahs:can u compare abia with lagos? |
Editor's Note: Many people, considering the recent development in APC, have stated that APC is self distructing. I think this assumption is foolish and unpatriotic. Its true that APC have failed Nigerians but to be candid, they have their own advantages. For the mere fact that their party chairman, Oshiomhole have done this singular act in Imo State (not letting Rochas turn Imo State to his political dynasty), he should infact be commended. He did what PDP cannot summon courage to do in Abia State, thereby turning Abia State governorship seat and all other political positions as their family business. No wonder till today, Abia State has become the worst state in the entire nation. Mismanagement and total abuse of office is what has been inherent in Abia State right from the time of Orji Uzo Kalu. I wish someone will liberate the people of Abia State, because right now, they are doomed. |
Oshiomhole Came To Imo State To Insult Me Instead Of Selling APC Candidate To Imo People - Rochas The Govenor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha yesterday said that the national chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole came to Imo state to rain insults on him rather than sell his candidate to the people of Imo State. Okorocha stated this through a release to newsmen in Owerri by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo. Oshiomhole visited Imo state last week for the campaign flag-off ceremony of Imo APC governorship candidate, Senator Hope Uzodimma, where he accused Okorocha of anti-party activities among other allegations. According to Okorocha in a statement, “We won’t allow Oshiomhole to eat his cake and still have it. And we start this way: “Adams Oshiomhole was governor in Edo State for eight years. Rochas Okorocha has been governor in Imo for less than eight years. We challenge Oshiomhole to publish his achievements in Edo State for the eight years he was governor and let Rochas publish his own achievements in Imo in less than eight years and let Nigerians judge who failed as governor. “If Oshiomhole fails to accept this challenge, we won’t have any other option than to conclude that he is just a noise maker. “Oshiomhole has been talking and working to fulfill his own part of whatever deal he has with Chief Hope Uzodinma. He is acting his own part and in doing that, has thrown caution to the wind.” Okorocha said that he expected,” that the chairman of a party who came for the campaign of a governorship candidate of his party would have used the opportunity offered by the event to market the candidate. But in this case, Oshiomhole talked about Governor Okorocha and carefully skipped talking about the candidate because he knows where the problem lies with the candidate. “All the media reports on what Oshiomhole said at the rally were all about Okorocha. He consciously avoided telling Imo people why they should opt for Uzodinma at the poll in 2019 or why he chose him as the guber candidate of the party in the state.” On one of the troubling issues raised by Oshiomhole which bordered on payment of workers salaries in the state, Okorocha said that “information has long been in the public domain that Governor Okorocha paid the December 2018 salary in November 2018 and has also given each of the workers N10,000 as Christmas bonus.” more @ http://www.exlinklodge.com/2018/12/oshiomhole-came-to-imo-state-to-insult.html?m=1

Now I can draw my conclusions Buhari is an agent of darkness for saying we r making progress after losing 20.9m jobs since 3 years he took over power. i now understand |
so long as he is serving the slave master ba? when will this westerners understand that Igbos have no time to be enslaved? |
omoelerin1:exactly my point |
smh So Buhari and your slave master, Tinubu are the ones that have what it takes to fight corruption ba? Some people should at least look at things logically before making fo.olish statement like this. You are a house boy to Nigerias most corrupt politicians and u are talking about who have the zeal of fighting corruption. no shame at all. |
I have not seen a country as primitive and stu.pid as Nigeria. which kind news be this now? first of all, the news is a blatant lie cuz no pictures to buttress the claim and the source self is questionable. but wait ooo, maiduguri abi watin dey call them that is being ravaged by boko haram are having 24 hours electricity while Lagos or other developed cities that needs this light hardly see it. How stu.pid and foolish is this if its even tru? i feel like vomiting on reading this news. And what is more annoying is that the primitive people there don't even know that there something called prepaid meter which they should protest to given one instead protesting the availability of electricity. i just wish Americans or even Ghanaians dont see this news. so fo.olish. |
The news of Access Bank’s acquisition of Diamond Bank which hit the air last weekend has continued to reverberate across the country and undoubtedly, the primary concern for many Nigerians will be what happens to their deposits in Diamond bank. To be honest, some customers besieged Diamond bank on Monday for panic withdrawals. But no need for that. Though echoes of banking failures in the past have left many Nigerians wary of news concerning a merger or acquisition. Fortunately, this is not a bank failure but a merger between a Tier 1 (Access Bank) and a Tier 2 (Diamond Bank) bank respectively. Now, this is what happens to Diamond Bank depositors? Depositors with Diamond Bank must be wondering, what happens to my deposits with Diamond Bank. This is a pertinent question since it appears Access Bank is the stronger of the two banks and Diamond Bank appears to be the bank in need of capital. Results for the nine months ended September 30, 2018, show the bank had N1 trillion in deposits from customers. These comprised N383 billion in demand deposits, N452 billion in savings deposits and N231 billion in term deposits. Since Access Bank is the dominant entity, Diamond Bank customers would be absorbed into the Access Bank fold and issued new account numbers. This could take weeks to happen but before then, we expect regular banking activities to continue without many hitches. Deposits with Diamond Bank are and will remain safe, as the bank is in no form of financial distress. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) would also be on hand to provide any required support should there be panic withdrawals. The apex bank would most likely issue a statement, before the close of business today, of some sort assuring customers of the safety of their deposits. CBN’s take on bank takeovers The CBN had this year when it announced the revocation of Skye Bank’s operating licence, maintained that all deposits would be secure. In their words; “WE WISH TO ASSURE ALL DEPOSITORS THAT UNDER THIS ARRANGEMENT, THEIR DEPOSITS SHALL REMAIN SAFE.” The proposed merger between Access Bank and Diamond Bank is however different as it does not require any capital injection from the CBN. Thus, even in extreme cases where the CBN has had to inject capital or take over banks, depositors funds have always been safe. We, therefore, do not see any difference in this situation as depositors funds will be safe. Is there any need to close my Diamond Bank account Except you are not comfortable being a customer to Access Bank, there is absolutely no need to close your account with Diamond Bank. This does not mean caution should be thrown out of the window but we strongly believe that the outcome of the merger will produce a stronger bank in terms of customer deposits. Diamond Bank is known for its tech-driven solution banking so it is also likely that Access Bank will acquire some of these technological assets and incorporate it into its banking services. For several other Diamond Bank accounts, particularly premium banking services, it may not be wise to retain such accounts particularly if they attract high (which Access Bank have reputation on) in exchange for unique services. The services may not be as excellent considering the pressure of the merger and may not be worth it. Such accounts may be moved to a regular account to avoid undue charges. more @ http://www.exlinklodge.com/2018/12/access-banks-acquisition-of-diamond.html cc mynd44 lalasticlala missyb3 obinoscopy
