“Take me to my son, I want to see him”, Chika Elekawachi pleaded with family members who were still lost in thought on how to break the news of the death of her baby. Chika is the eight-month pregnant woman who was allegedly brutalized by three policemen attached to the Satellite Police Division in Lagos on Sunday, July 19, 2015. The cops allegedly stripped the woman naked after accusing her of resisting arrest. She was allegedly assaulted before she was dragged to the police station. Her family members later rushed her to Safe Hands Hospital, old Ojo road, Amuwo, Lagos, after she allegedly passed out at the police station. Her family members got the shock of their lives when the doctor on duty said in the presence of policemen that Chika was hale and hearty. Unfortunately, she started bleeding at about 11pm on Monday when she was rushed into the theatre for surgery. Although the baby boy was delivered on Tuesday alive, and rushed to Outreach Hospital in Festac town, Lagos, which had a functional incubator, the baby died less than 48 hours after. Her family members have cried out over what they described as an attempt by the police to sweep the matter under the carpet. This is even as the Lagos police command had ordered the immediate arrest and detention of the suspects soon after the authorities learnt - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/07/tragedy-pregnant-woman-attacked-by-3.html#sthash.oNWO0DkW.dpuf cc lalasticlala

A LIB reader saw this incident in Abia State where a guy was burnt alive for stealing a bike. So Abia is still in this there lawlessness. You can't take laws into your hands my brothers and sisters. I have been in Abia for years and this has been there ways of life. Am still surprise that they are still on those kind of barbaric laws they have always embarked upon each time stealing or robbery occurs in the small town. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/07/abia-lawlessness-man-burnt-to-death-in.html#sthash.Bgluj2Dw.dpuf cc lalasticlala

This is early morning and I appreciate that fact but this cannot wait till afternoon or evening because I may become too lenient by then. I have to really scold ladies via this medium because their foolishness on social media platforms is becoming something that i cannot begin to understand. I saw this pictures on someone's facebook this morning and i wondered if this is a fellow woman or is she just a female. The worst part of it is that she also have a daughter and her picture are also beside her. I am so disappointed and could course her for this. If you want to useless yourself, why not do it by yourself and even if you like, kill yourself but leave the younger generation out of it so that they can have the opportunity to become something different and beneficial to the world at large. Why bring her into this? Yes is true that one cannot tell you how to live your life but should you always take your child into it? That one is a separate sin of its self because God said you should train up a child the way he should go so that he wont depart from it when he grows up and if that is the way you are training your own kid then you will face the consequences. Am appealing to any mother, father, boy friend, girl friend, baby mama and baby father reading this blog to make sure you don't make this kind of mistake. Our children should be our pride. They can only follow what we do except it is good in the sight of God. I really wonder if that lady will ever marry or maybe her own mother is proud of her foolishness and behavioral traits. I wish and hope the pictures are not too porny in nature so that i wont get scolded by Google. Whats your thought? - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/07/is-this-what-social-media-have-turned.html#sthash.OgmOoSJf.dpuf

It has been gotten from reliable source (TVC) that US Barrack Obama have decided to lift the ban which they imposed during GEJ regime on the sell of arms to help Nigeria armed forces to help combat boko harram insurgency in Nigeria. In Barrack Obama words, "it is good and warming that Nigeria now have a president that is in corruptible and have clear vision on what he wants to do in Nigeria". I don't know if this is a propaganda of is it really what he is? Obama himself is paying alot of attention to him which is PMB and most of the leaders in the world is also trying everything possible to make him feel at home by laughing too much to him. I pray that this President will succeed as I am also skeptical about the whole thing. I am a kind of person that feels very critical about everything and my friend when it comes to America, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, i have every reason to be. Correct me if am wrong because the US has been know over the years with their ability to cun their way out of everything and believe me, they have not repented from that. Please my readers, am i been skeptical and paranoid for no reason? Is it that this visit will really yield good tidings for Nigeria? Why was the sell of arms banned during GEJ time after John Kerry came to Nigeria and declared that they will help us? Penuel Mnguni, a very controversial South African pastor has said he cannot be destroyed by anybody. Mnguni is always in the news for asking his congregants to do strange things. Last week he asked his congregation to swallow live snakes, which led to his arrest. He was charged with animal cruelty after pictures of him feeding snakes to some members of his church surfaced online. Mnguni, who heads the End Times Disciples Ministries in Soshanguve, was later released on bail. Speaking after his release, the pastor said South African police do not know who they are fighting. He was quoted as saying: “Maybe I need help if someone thinks I’m possessed let them come and deliver me, but if nothing come out then I will deliver you. Then one demon came and held her hands on the head of the Man of God but instead that demon was delivered. All laws, constitution and bi-lows are powerless; if they want to arrest me let them also arrest (Nandos). “God made these animals for us to eat; the world is fighting today because we used the same weapon. No one can destroy me, already I’m destroyed. Police don’t know who they are fighting against. There are people who are religious out there. These prophets who spoke about this long before it came to be and he was criticized same as my father. If you go to heaven and not find me it’s not heaven. To God Be the Glory,” he said. Mnguni is a disciple of another controversial pastor, Lesego Daniels, who rose to fame by making his congregants drink petrol and eat grass. After reports of him asking members of his church to swallow live snakes surfaced, he was said to have asked them to UnCloth and eat their clothes including their underwear, some days later. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/07/popular-pastor-who-fed-members-live.html#sthash.ssbSqaNL.dpuf cc lalasticlala

Vanguards of Nigeria’s Democracy, a civil rights group, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari makes secret moves for the arrest of ex-president Goodluck Jonathan. The group stated that Buhari plans to “investigate, malign and imprison” Jonathan on fabricated charges. The VND particularly blamed the president and his All Progressives Congress (APC) government for “unsavoury and patently repugnant action,” which it said, were anti-Niger Delta and against the Ijaw ethnic nationality. The group considered former president was the target of the controversy surrounding some supposed missing loots from the country’s treasury during the term of the immediate past government. On respond to this development, Femi Adesina, Buhari’s spokesperson asked why people would worry on speculations when nothing concrete had been brought about Jonathan. He said: “All these are speculations and I cannot react to speculations because there is nothing concrete yet against the former President.” Osaghae Ogiemudia, the leader of the group in a statement said that anti-Niger Delta and anti-Ijaw posturing of the APC administration of had been shown in different ways. Ogiemudia said: “We, the members of the Vanguards of Nigeria’s Democracy, are aware of some clandestine moves made by the APC-led government to probe, investigate, malign and imprison ex President Jonathan. We are already aware of the trumped-up charges the APC government is leveling against a man who has diligently served the Nigerian state at the highest level of government. “The APC led government should take notice that the appointments made so far are skewed in favour of the North, as no Ijaw man has been appointed. While an Ijaw President did not discriminate in appointment, President Buhari is implementing a Northern agenda through some of the appointments.” It should be noted that Sambo Dasuki, who was recently put under home arrest by SSS operagtives, said that the security agency is desperate to implicate him in supposed security breaches, saying his ordeal was a sheer witch-hunt. Sambo Dasuki is a former National Security Adviser, who was fired on July 13, Moday, and hust after one day soldiers sieged his residence. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/07/president-buhari-plans-to-arrest.html#sthash.Fuj1n2vR.dpuf cc lalasticlala ishilove

By Abel Orukpe, Lagos Disaster was again averted at the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos, yesterday, when two Airbus A319 airplanes belonging to First Nation Airways, a domestic carrier, collided at the apron of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2(MMA2). An aviation worker who witnessed the incident told Saturday Independent that the collision happened on ground and not in the air and that there were about 260 passengers on board both aircraft were disembarked immediately. The incident is coming barely 12 days after Emirates Airlines aircraft Boeing 777-200 LR with over 300 passengers hit a stationery Boeing 737-400 aircraft owned by HAK Air, a domestic operator at the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos. Commissioner of Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB), Dr Felix Abali, had explained that Emirates Airlines aircraft with registration number A6-EWD was taxiing for a take-off en-route Dubai when its wing tip cut into the B737-400 aircraft parked on the apron of the domestic wing of the airport. Narrating how the incident happened further, the source said one of the First Nation’s airplanes was taxiing from the runway to Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2), to disembark passengers while the other airplane was taxing to take off to Port Harcourt Airport from the same terminal when the incident occurred. On what may have caused the ground collision, the source explained that the pilot may have been misdirected by the marshallers, who directed the pilot to taxi to that part of the apron where the second aircraft was. He said the marshaller directed the aircraft that had just landed at the same Gate 3 and that while the arriving airplane was trying to park at Gate 3, the two aircraft wings brushed each other. The airplane that was Port Harcourt-bound, he said had been parked on Gate 4 while the arriving aircraft was directed to Gate 3 of the same terminal. He said that because of the damage caused by the incident, the two airplanes were grounded by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), for further investigation. Meanwhile, Saturday Independent learnt that Port Harcourt bound passengers, who were disembarked due to the incident, were given refunds by the airline. The General Manager Public Affairs, NCAA, Mr Fan Ndubuoke, confirmed the incident. According to Ndubuoke, explained that the incident occurred yesterday; Friday, when a first nation aircraft taxing to take off to Port Harcourt hit another stationed First Nation aircraft at MMA2 terminal. He stated that no passenger was hurt and that their fares were refunded to them while the incident was referred to AIB. They are seeking an order by the court, to compel the Army to pay them N1m each of them for breach of fundamental right to fair hearing and freedom from discrimination. They are also asking, among many other things, for N5m as the cost for prosecuting the suit. In a suit filed at the National Industrial Court, Abuja, the soldiers say they were not dismissed the right way. They claim they were dismissed via an oral communication from one Lt-Col. M.J. Gambo on January 13, 2015 and Garrison Commander, Brig. Gen. B.O Akinroluoyo, later the next day. Representing them in this suit, is human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN). Speaking on the case, a lawyer from his chambers, Deji Morakinyo said the soldiers were denied “inviolable opportunity to be heard and make representation in defence and to state their respective cases.” According to Morakinyo, “The claimants particularly aver that due to the insurgents’ counter-attack, and the re-capture of Bazza from the personnel of the defendant (the Nigerian Army), their Commanding Officer, Lt.-Col. A.A Egbejule, in line with military tradition, ordered tactical withdrawal by the Joint Force so as to re-strategise.” Adding that “The claimants further and particularly aver that consistent with military tradition, the Joint Force had to comply with the superior order of their Commanding Officer, hence they withdrew as ordered by their Commanding Officer.” The army through its counsel, Commander A.A Abu, said “the plaintiffs were duly sacked and thus asked the court to dismiss the suit on the grounds of lack of jurisdiction.” You will recall, that 255 soldiers were sacked by the Nigerian Army for “disobedience to standing order and failure to perform military duties.” - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/07/nigerian-army-saga-126-dismissed.html#sthash.R75k5Mpg.dpuf

The desperation of Mohammed Adamu, an assistant headmaster at Madaki Primary School in Gombe State, to travel to Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj, has landed him in trouble as he has been arrested for allegedly parading himself as an operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), as well as presenting himself as police officer. Adamu who also go by the name, Mohammed Bala, was said to have extorted money from the Executive Secretary of the Gombe State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board, Alhaji Usman Gurama, under the guise of securing Hajj slots for staff of the Gombe zone of the EFCC. Reacting on the arrest, the Head, Media and Publicity of the anti-graft body, Wilson Uwujaren, said Adamu was nabbed on July 13, 2015. In a statement Uwujaren released, he said: “Investigations by the commission revealed that the suspect had written a letter to the executive secretary of the pilgrim’s board, requesting for money to give to staff of EFCC for the pilgrimage to Mecca. Upon his arrest by the EFCC, he confessed not being an employee of the commission.” He added that Adamu told Gurama that he needed to get the money for the EFCC Head of Operations, Head of Monitoring and Investigation, OC Legal and Prosecution Unit and Head of Team A-D. Uwujaren said after a thorough investigation, it was discovered that the perpetrator of the crime was a staff of the Gombe Local Government Education Authority. A police identity card bearing his name and picture with the rank of a corporal, and a temporary appointment offer letter from Gombe Local Government Education Authority, three different copies of Hajj seat receipts and a letter written by the suspect on a plain paper to the executive secretary, Gombe State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board, requesting for money for supposed staff of EFCC, were recovered from him - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/07/headmaster-arrested-for-impersonating.html#sthash.fK0HGHsS.dpuf cc lalasticlala ishilove

Some former Service Chiefs will be investigated over the alleged misplacement of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Secondary School Certificate from military records, according to reports. Sources quoted in online reports suggest that some of the service chiefs, who were among the top military officers recently retired, will be investigated over the row certificate saga which threatened president Buhari's political ambition before the 2015 Presidential polls. A military source quoted in the reports said some retired military officers are behind the push for the probe. Security reports quoted indicate that some of the Service Chiefs to be investigated were 'reckless' while in office. "Some respected but retired military officers are demanding a probe of the circumstances behind the certificate saga because it created a division in the military," the source said. "The former service chiefs are also going to be probed for allegedly mismanaging of funds for operations." He said the argument is that Buhari's 'missing' credential case is an anomaly since the "credentials of every military officer are always in their files." "There is a fresh lead that the President’s file might have suffered some mutilation or misplacement." The source added that it is believed that political factors might have been the cause of the certificates' disappearance from Buhari's file "While some claimed that the certificate had been misplaced since the 1980s, others alleged mutilation as a result of some political factors." It will be recalled that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and several pro-PDP groups had used the missing certificate issue against Buhari's candidacy. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/07/ex-army-chiefs-to-be-investigated-over.html#sthash.uXFBTu5d.dpuf cc lalasticlala ishilove

A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, senatorial candidate in the last general elections for Kwara South senatorial district, Architect Lola Ashiru, has told the National Assembly Election Tribunal sitting in Ilorin that some electoral materials used for the exercise on March 28 had already been signed and stamped by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on March 27, a day before election. Ashiru’s lawyer, Prof Rasheed Ijaodola, who led hin in evidence before the tribunal tendered 92 ballot papers alleged to have already been stamped and signed by INEC, signifying that they had already been used a day before the election. The revelation was made as hearing continued before the tribunal where other documents like Forms EC8 (A1&A1), which allegedly contained voting results in four local government areas of Oyun, Offa, Ifelodun and Irepodun in the state. Counsels to the first respondent, Mr Adebayo Adelodun, SAN as well as the All Progressives Congress, APC, did not however object to the admissibility of the documents as exhibits. Ashiru in his statement on oath alleged these were the irregularities, malpractices and misconduct in Offa, Oyun, Ifelodun and Irepodun local government areas. He averred that the votes recorded for him by INEC in the four councils were not the valid votes emanating from the senatorial election held in the senatorial district on March 28. He said the election in the aforementioned councils was characterised by massive rigging, over voting, multiple thumb printing, ballot box stuffing, and allotment of votes, alteration and inflation of results. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/07/nass-pdp-candidate-challenges-apcs.html#sthash.pxtQSeyK.dpuf

cc lalasticlala and ishilove my people need to hear this brilliant politician and his eloquence. |
Confirmation has come that President Muhammmadu Buhari will be going to America this month. This going to America should not only be different from that of the African prince portrayed by Eddie Murphy, it should be different from that which marked both the beginning of the Yar’Adua and Jonathan presidencies. This going to America for an ailing nation of great potential must be a concrete effort at forging partnerships in pursuit of the great goal of the Great Escape from misery for the biggest concentration of the people of Africa descent. Going to America has always been a matter laced with Irony. As a young youth corps member reporting for the Newbreed newsmagazine some 38 years ago, I wrote a story that pointed to Army Intellectual, Olusegun Obasanjo, criticising African leaders journeying to America. As head of state then, Obasanjo had evidently forgotten his old quips, and was preparing for a journey to America. I have never thought of going to America a problem. The mindset of “America their America” offered by one of our literary giants was not my own frame. What my concern always was and remains the issue for this visit, is, how to go beyond ceremonials and photo opps to handshakes that produce mutually beneficial outcomes. For the US and Nigeria this has to include in today’s context a boosting of capacity for security and economic advancement in Nigeria and trade opportunities with new markets for American products where there is comparative advantage that does not depress prospects for sustainable development in a country of prospects. With security problems in Nigeria’s North-East threatening efforts to reduce the scourge of poverty, disease, and a brutish state of nature, a huge infrastructure deficit, financing gaps that have left even salaries unpaid for months, partnerships with foreign powers need be obsessively focused on relationships that can help bridge gaps and uplift the Nigerian condition. In this regard, I am persuaded that with we, as Nigeria, should unveil a clear national strategy anchored on latent comparative advantage based on select factor endowments in which value chains in which we are quite competitive are developed into global markets. With the Chinese understanding of the benefits of industrial policy in building such values chains, we should not be shy to do infrastructure deals around industrial parks with them. In the same way, opportunities for partnerships with the South Koreans, Japanese and with the Australians in mining and road infrastructure should not be allowed to slip by. With the Americans, so much can be done with power, services, technology and education. We need to expand our fast growing education and health sectors. With so many Nigerians of the Diaspora active in the US in these areas, the trip should be used to build bridges. We just saw reports of a meeting of Nigerian physicians in the US which took place in Orlando Florida. We should tag into that to be a medical tourism hub. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/07/now-that-gen-buhari-is-going-to-america.html#sthash.TXbrFGGP.dpuf

Fast rising Nollywood actor and music artist, Dexter Nyelu Anawana, has been in the music industry for many years before delving into the movie scene last year. The young chap in a brief interview with Naij.com, voiced out his own opinion about “Gay marriage”. He disclosed that, he is not gay and does not know why it exists. “Well for me I’m not too comfortable answering this cause of the sensitive nature of the question, but personally I don’t like it because number one I am not gay so I can’t understand it and why they exist”. Dexter as fondly called by fans and colleagues, added that gays should have their own special organisations where marital service would be conducted. “I feel they should have their own organisations like their own churches and mosques, where they can conduct their marriages because the existing Churches and Mosques were not originally built on Gay values and it’s not right for them to start now in order not to bring confusion or go against religious beliefs”. He added that ‘Gays’ have stood their belief over the years and have the right to marry themselves if they choose to.
