I've been reading comments on this thread and have seen how you have kept lamenting. You made your first point in an earlier post, someone brought up a point that strongly countered yours. Here you are with another point which I consider pointless, so I'm left with no choice but to make my first comment here.
One of the reasons for upgrades is to make loyal customers come back for more, it's a marketing strategy which you already know. Another thing you should understand is that every customers needs in a device can't be the same. Some only bother about camera, some RAM, some it's the chipset, processor speed and all (that's for those who are a bit more techy), some it's battery, and some it's even just ROM. Individuals have personal reasons for buying devices. Respect that. And again for some, as long as they can make and receive calls with their devices, they're perfectly satisfied. See the part of your comment that I made bold? You fall into a category, others don't and that's the beauty of life! So you see, you need to quit lamenting over individual choices.

I said what I said because I have witnessed first hand what these "bringing out phones like candy" are doing to people.
